Last day in Wellington. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 25 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. We have planned a driving tour of both the north island and the south Island. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 11:26 AM. Thank you wascox for placing and maintaining this cache.
Visiting from California and enjoying traveling around in NZ, what a beautiful country. I used a handy nearby stick to extract the cache and then realised it was unnecessary! TFTC
Gone burger looks like there might be something down the plastic pipe but couldn't get it out so on to the next one so TFTC
Found the likely spot but not there, noticed previous logs say it's missing. Pity.
#708. GB Leader and I have spent today on a caching spree, starting in Featherston, then doing the triangle to Martinborough, Carterton and Greytown, and finally (as the wind starting really whipping up), back to Featherston. There were some really tricky and quirky caches around. Great fun! Final tally for the day: 23 finds (a new daily record for me), 3 DNF’s and one “not sure.”
Wascox, I found this cache (including the log) lying in pieces near the obvious GZ point. Not knowing exactly where it should be, I retained what was left of it, so you need to decide whether to replace it, or archive it. #8 of 23. Tftc anyway!

Was walking through the square this morning and found the container sitting out in the open so replaced back
After cycling around the wineries and going back to our accommodation. Here on a snacks run, we were in the area and decided to find this cache. It was all good (at the time), but outside its hidey hole so we replaced it. Pity that it's since missing.
Headed into the square to buy snacks for our trip out to the lighthouse tomorrow. This lil town is so pretty, I can't wait to come back and explore some more. Cache found outside its hidey hole so signed and returned to its correct spot.
Caching with Sidewaze. My apologies for late logging, my thanks to CO for taking the time to place the cache and giving us the challenge of finding it. TFTC
Wow, that's interesting, the map is now going to stay in my head in the same compartment as the street map of Reefton which is also fascinating. Thanks for the great hide .
Day 13 of our NZ adventure. An early morning bike ride from our accommodation in town to grab a coffee & set about locating some caches. All found without any problems. Returned to our accommodation and set off with our friends to Cape Palliser. Climbed the steps to the lighthouse and nearly blown way. Admired the seals and then headed to Lake Ferry for a late lunch at the Hotel enjoying their famous fish and chips. Overlooked the cache at first glance.
Found it really quickly but as previous cachers have mentioned string is broken so can't get it out to log in the book. TFTC anyway!
Second stop on the way home from a fish-and-chips lunch, and a walk in the sunshine at Lake Ferry.
Nicely hidden, quickly located but initially unreachable with its means of attachment broken! Back to the car for a special tool that would ensure retrieval was quick enough to avoid attention from muggles in such an open and public place. Unfortunately, once opened, the cache revealed a crumpled and soggy log barely capable of being written on. Waterproof florists' paper would be the answer here to keep this one active.

Okay got parked and decided to walk and eat, the first in the center of town and a bit clever, TFTC!
When I first saw it, I thought it was going to be much harder to get than it was. The really hard part was retrieving it with all these muggles around. TFTC
What a cool hide! Took us a couple of attempts to retrieve as we didn't pay enough attention to set up. Not too many muggles which helped. TFTC
Looked in some obvious places but too many muggles around to enable a really good fossick.
Found cache but very wet and log gone. Sorry on foot and don't have a replacement sorry. Cool hide though.
OMG!! Our last cache for the night! About time the fun stopped..... we need to get back to Waimeha camp ground down by Caper Palliser so I can get some beauty sleep.
Out and about with 2 other cachers also from West Auckland, Rebel and rusty. We are down this way for 3 days of caching fun (our 2nd day) and now it's about 10pm when we get here, we have been caching for so many hours! No problem with this hide wascox, thanks for that.

Last find of the night by this group of Westies (rustynz, rebel98 and gorby). Its after 9 pm, so we are looking for some food, so around the square we go
After being fed and watered it would be rude not to find the cache, so off we wander and it was soon located. Thanks wascox for the hide and bringing us here.

Spent time figuring out how to retrieve this. Only after lots of fumbling did we realize there is an easy way.
A quick easy find while waiting for the rest of the group to use the public facilities. Tftc!
Third visit, and success! Now it seems my special tool is no longer required.

I came here about a month ago, found the cache but couldn't retrieve it to sign the log. Returned today with a specially crafted tool, but the cache has gone.
A little CO attention required, please.
Found the cache today but we were not able to get it out. Someone has forced it in so unfortunatly we could not sign the logbook!
Maybe the owner should take a look what happened, maybe we were not clever enough. I‘ll send a photo to the owner to proof our find!
Greetings from a german family

Very clever hide...no scribbling device for me so hopefully photo of the logbook will suffice. TFTC
Gorgeous day in Martinborough. Found after a beer at the hotel. Lovely spot. TFTC!
We are staying in Martinborough for a night or two and took a stroll from the camping ground into town for a meal this evening. All was quiet here and we soon spotted where the cache was hidden. A quick rummage in my bag and I found the correct tool to get our hands on the cache easily. Nice one! Have a favourite point. SL. TFTC.
Very funny !
In plain sight but very hard to extract !
Saw it last night when waiting for my pizza.
Returned today with a bunch of walking mates.
One friend was very patient indeed , and slowly and carefully he had the desired result ..... and I was very pleased to sign the log after an initial Epic Fail !
Fave for the challenge !

We headed off to the Wairarapa today on a caching expedition - the terrific trio of haydn.seek, PJMacNZ and geodatum. Primarily we aimed to sign in for all the 100 and 250 per month Challenge series, but, of course, would collect as much else as we could along the way. We checked out about 75 caches and had very few failures. We left home at 6.30 am and returned at 9.30 pm. The weather was good - sunny and warm, if a little chilly in windy spots, and dry underfoot. We were good company and our team worked together efficiently. So, in all, a very successful day.
We were looking forward to refreshment when we reached Martinborough about 4pm, but first we sought this cache. We couldn't see any particular means of extraction there, so haydyn.seek and Mrs G went to the car for a possible tool. Upon returning they found PJMacNZ had managed to retrieve it with the help of a stick.
We're still not at all sure how it is meant to be done, but we were happy enough to sign it and return it. For us there was particular relief as we failed to extract it four years ago, and this was the first opportunity to try again! TFTC

A serious geo caching day! Not so much about numbers but a dedicated pre planned set of caches covering a fairly large area and many of the caches were puzzle caches we had solved or had qualified for. . We travelled 400km, found about 70 caches and were out on the trail for 15hours, so it was a big serious day.
We left about 6.30am from Palmerston North and travelled thro to Masterton where were picked up out first puzzle cache. And then travelled down the back road towards Martinborough locating the 100 and 250 caches for a month -our main objective!. We stopped at Kokotau reserve for a late morning tea cum lunch but the cache here eluded us even with three searchers and a double look before and again after lunch. We replaced several skindo caches along the route with either new containers or water proof logs as so often they were soaking wet. We side tracked up several side roads for caches and we visited Stonehenge on the way. and then headed into Martinborough to initally look for the cache in the town square which had stumped geodatum earlier. As always PJMacNZ solved the retrieval of this cache and we then headed to the pub for a much earned break and tea with Devonshire scones Yummy! We then continued on our way towards home locating other caches in Martin borough and then on the back route up to Greytown to locate the Cobblestone museum cache which I have searched for on numerous occasions. PJM was able to find the Virtual cache there which was a plus for him. By the time we left Masterton it was starting to darken so we gave away the idea of locating the newer Eketahuna caches. They will wait for another day!.
It was a great day and combined effort by all three of us. Thank you to my partners and the Cos for these caches. Lots of smiley faces and project GC points to boot!!
We located and retrieved the cache quickly, signed the log and re-concealed carefully. We then headed off for refreshments!A good day out,TFTC!
After a tandem bike ride round the vineyards we needed a bit of food to soak it all up, found this sneaky fella on the way back to the camp site TFTC
We stopped in Martinborough for an ice block and a leg-stretching walk after our fossil hunt (it's International Fossil Day!) and wandered into the square to find this cache. As I was wondering what fiendishly clever way wascox had thought up to hide this cache Miss 3Prettys yelled out, "Here it is!" And there it was, she had walked right up to GZ and spotted the cache without the GPS! Mr 3Prettys quickly retrieved it, I signed it and we popped it right back into its spot.
Thank you for the clever hides, we love searching them out!
