Out for a wander in some never before visited areas. Enjoying the new places we are discovering. Signed CS43 & SCAHPA to save room on the log - TFTC
I spent the morning with Willis007 caching in the Mt Petrie bushland. With still plenty of time to spare, I decided to return to this bushland area and find the caches that I missed last time, more than two years ago. Last time I could just reach this cache but needed both hands to undo the container, which I couldnt do while balancing. However, this time an extra piece of wood to stand on has been placed by a previous finder, so I was able to open it today. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Very happy to have a find of this fun container. Tftc
Im pleased its winter...th@ would b quite an effort in a humid summer...T4TC:-)
Exploring this new part of Brisbane today. The dog and I enjoy exploring. Second cache in the area, and we had to move a few metres off track to find, but the cache was spotted from a little way away.Stood on the nearby log to reach, and initially unsure how to find the log sheet, but the package unscrewed easily. The log sheet was all good, secure in its zip lock bag. Signed my name and I was on my way to another cache. Thanks very much for this placement TMrabbit. Cheers
We could see the clouds starting to come over and wondered how long until the rain started.A quick grab and off to the next one.Tftc
Found it quickly enough but could not reach it. The hook is now embedded into the growing tree. I tried a few options before creating a makeshift ladder so I could sign the log. Ladder is still in place for future finders but WHS probably wouldn't sign this one off!
Out for the day with nikid1 & as we were in the area thought we had better find the remaining 2 caches here. We were searching at the wrong level initially but then spied the cache, took a bit of acrobatics to get our name in the logs but they are there now.
Thanks for the cache TMRabbit

Out for a day of caching with KerriMG. We had 2 unfound caches in here so we thought we better rectify that.
Spied after a bit of searching at the wrong height.

Found!!!! Very tricky. Had to read through past comments. No log in there so couldn’t sign. Great cache!!
Looked around and around. Found when I looked up. Log is mush couldn't sign. I have a photo if needed. TFTC.
Found on my lovely walk. It took a bit of effort to get it open, but finally got it.
Enjoyed the bush walk..signed log and returned to its hide.. Didn't hang around, off to get some more smiles.. tftc
Out caching Rabbits and other caches and enjoying a day out walking ( yes walking) in the bush. I don't always ride, just most of the time.
Another wet log but did take a signature

I found it and could just reach it but didn't have to strength to hold it tightly and open it. I will have to return with someone taller. Tftc
Checked every low down nook and cranky before standing up and looking for koalas and bingo. TFTC
I had a mixed bag with the Rabbit series today. Unfortunately I had more DNF’s than finds. This was one I had success with TFTC
Out for a lovely walk with some first time geocachers. This was their first find. Log book is wet. TFTC.
Late this afternoon, a plan to head farther afield wasn't viable, so instead, I met up with oz_bean_counter for a little bit of rabbit hunting. It's been years since I last found any, and I do have some left. More walking, just what I need after a huge morning of ocean clean-up! Given our late start, we were still on the move during sunset, and after. Now, walking in the dark and we'd need phone lights if going bush is required.
Sure enough, as we motored up the hill (and thankful there was a path as neither of us were having much map luck in here) it became evident that this one was bush. maybe the most bush we'd been all afternoon. Phone torches out then! It really wasn't too far, but it was too dark.
At GZ we just had to wander around, poking and peering, hoping a phone light would fall onto the suspect item. With a few ideas in mind, we weren't coming up with much. But, when I accidentally looked up, phone torch following, at OBC, I spotted something. Sure enough, a geocache!
I then got the pleasure of getting at the logbook (which was a bit tricky, all things considered) and we could sign the logbook at 18:20, before replacing as found and heading back to the track. That's it for us in here tonight - back to the car. Thanks for this geocache, TMRabbit

Looked for a while and then finally, bingo, we had it. Thanks for placing this cache.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with Mansfield parkrun followed by a nearby breakfast. With a recent solo visit to Mount Gravatt lookout, we finished out the morning to see the views from there before proceeding home.
In the afternoon, we headed out to Westfield Garden City, and I then headed east to Rochedale followed by Burbank bushland to walk around the Rabbit / Creepy Rabbit series.
I spotted this cluster of "Rabbit" series earlier today, and thought it would make a good adventure and jog around. I followed the geocaches' instructions to park on Alperton Road (I ended up accessing the area near the corner of Leacroft Road), and all up, I managed to complete the series cluster in just under two hours. My only problem was leaving my walking/jogging until arriving at about 17:00 hr, and so it started to get quite dark by the end of my visit. I had brought with me limited supplies, which meant I was relying on my mobile phone's torch towards the end, and managed to just get me back to the car with finding the caches with 1% battery left! Otherwise, it was a really nice area to visit with the creek/water, and a few wallabies spotted hopping in the forest. Unfortunately, with water comes mosquitoes and cane toads, and so a few of those were spotted. The caches were largely quite creative, and all up, a recommended area to visit!
I continued my jog through the area, stopping off at this geocache. It was getting reasonably dark by this point, and so I was limiting the use of my torch whilst looking around. I decided to read a few past logs after having a quick search around, and I am glad that I did, as it probably would have taken me double the time to find. The cache was quite a heavy little thing, and perhaps a dangerous hide in its current position? Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks TMRabbit for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

The boys had fun searching the hollow bits in the logs , but found only toads until George spotted the blighter. James and Mrs George both tried to retrieve it, but I ended up doing the honours. Added to the log and replaced. TFTC, TMRrabbit. Oh, did I mention the rain showers, and the fun of wading through gullies full of water?
My seventh and final find for the afternoon! Given the name of the cache and other caches in the series, when I arrived at GZ I was looking around at ground level for something else entirely. Failing to find it, I sat down to scroll through the logs, and on standing back up, discovered it had been right above me!
Even though I was some distance from the trail, I worried that my festive attire (being the last day of the school term I had worn my best Christmas gear and not my geocaching camo) might attract attention as I teetered and tottered to reach the cache, but nobody passed then or at any other time during my walk.
Thank you for another fine geocache.

Did these ages ago and forgot to post the drafts. Off to finish the rabbits off after a years break.
Great hide. Bring your monkey, Geomate or a rope and prusek! 1.61m Defoe not tall 3niugh. I nearly killed myself. Getting up no prob but 8nvolved a dynamic move... Getting down a little harder...
Hah! Very clever. I needed tweezers to extract the log, but all is good here. The logbook is nice and dry. and I are enjoying our walk. We had the company of a couple of magpies and a lovely mother wallaby with a joey on board. She was beautiful.

TMRabbit I found your cache Stoned - Rabbit on 1/7/20, 10:40 am. This is my find 2585 and find # 5 today. With lost _gecko. Not what I was expecting. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

After our nice walk yesterday finding caches nearby my husband and I decided to come back again today. Today we only walked 6km in 2 hours. Only saw 1 person in this track today. Such a beautiful spot. Thankyou for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy . At gz I took a seat to have a drink of water and read a few logs after walking in circles. It was after reading one log that my husband looked at me and just to my left he pointed to the cache. This was our last find today and we enjoyed all the caches we found here today. Thankyou for the effort to make all these caches. We will be back soon to find the rest of the rabbit series
Found quickly on today's tour around this area.

Chamad was telling me the other day that he was wanting to try and do 50 caches in a day for the badge, so yesterday I asked if he was keen to go out and find them. We organised a time and place to start our run which was by Burbank. We wandered around a few reserves and then decided to head towards Springwood for a few Earth caches, mystery’s and trads.
All in all we had a great day out and we’re both completely exhausted.
Sorry for the generic post.

What an awesome day or should that be exhausting! Out with geonayfee to try and complete 50 plus caches in a day. With this cache we completed it.
We completed 2 series and a few target caches, a few earth caches and a couple of puzzles…. Awesome day and a lot of driving and walking but the challenge was completed, thank you for being part of our challenge, next is 80 in a day
Loved this series, a nice range of different types of caches and a surprise at each cache, thanks
very nice hide

This was my last one for today, and of course I was looking for something else and in the wrong area. Took me a little bit but I soon spotted it! Thanks for a lovely walk in the bush and TFTC!
This cache took a little longer to find then the earlier caches that we had found.

Well stone the crows, this one had me looking in the usual places then I spotted the sneaky cache and what a nightmare it was covered in a best of hairy itchy grubs. I had to think of some way to get to the cache without getting itchy. So I grabbed 2 sandwich bags from my backpack and used them as gloves haha gotcha. Tftc TMRabbit. PS.all the caches I did today I gave new clipseal bags. I did about 6 all up I think, could be 7.
I assumed that the name of this one referred to the location of the cache rather than promoting some sort of illegal behaviour. But I was wrong, it referred to the housing of the cache and looking on the ground was leading me in the wrong direction. My next challenge was getting it from it's home, which required me getting over my irrational fear that all fallen wood is home to snakes because I was otherwise to short o reach the cache and sticks weren't helping. The log is suffering a little from getting stuffed in and out of its home, but otherwise all is well. Now, how do I get back to the path again?

As we closed in on GZ our heads dropped a bit low because there was an eon of places to look. This was probably going to take a while. Nothing for it but to pitch a tent, blow up the air mattress, slip into lingerie and hope the trees are noise resistant against the night’s frivolities that would ensue.
I’m not sure how I traversed from caching to sex but it seems a logical progression, but that could be the beer talking. Note to self: pack an air mattress in the geo-backpack.
So many good hiding spots, so many places to look. We started the caching Macarena but thankfully I was standing on a log when the cache came into view. Mrs Woodyrothwell said we have to give this one a favourite point which I agreed to although I was focused on the nocturnal activities which didn’t eventuate. tftc

Out for the day collecting some more numbers to try to get my World Turtle souvenir. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, after skiving off my studies to find the caches I really don't have as much time as I'd like for writing logs.
I do have time to give this one a well deserved favourite point though.

We took the opportunity with the break in the rainy weather to grab some caches today and enjoy a walk in this lovely bushland. After lunch we parked the car beside the entry gate and headed down the track towards Woody Rabbit. After a week of wet, time to hit the bush trails and hunt some rabbits. I joined Fangsoki who had been out for a while already and we jointly tracked down a few here. This was our last joint effort before I headed on on my own. A worthy finale.
