Today I was invited along to cache with the logan gang of roddyc, hatzofff, imbunda and ring in, echocage1. The plan today was to drive out west ways and clean up a couple of caches for maintenance and collect a few caches as well. This cosmic challenge has gotten people out about and all for a couple of souveniers. It was a fun day and although I already had half the caches on the list today, I still had an enjoyable time and got in a few laughs. A good company group to cache with.We headed along a trail of caches and into the hills and some awesome views. There were a few along this trail and the Pharaoh's were watching out for us.The logs were signed and the caches were replaced as found, thanks for the caches in this area.
Today was a trip up in the Lockyer Valley with RoddyC, Hatzofff, chamad and Echocage1 to gain a few Smilies and also earn some points for Cosmic Quest.Soon had the cache, log signed before replacing as found. It sure was a beautiful day . TFTC
With hatzofff, imbunda, echocage1 and chamad for a pleasant Sunday caching around the Lockyer Valley.Great road! Cache OK.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 2:18 PM on August 4, 2024. TFTC, Tonned.
OCW hatzofff, RoddyC, Imbunda, and Chamad in the Lockyer Valley today. All good.TFTC

Took a drive along the scenic East Egypt Road to find a cache or two. Parked opposite GZ and had the cache in hand quickly. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; Iceland Geocoin ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2167.
A methodical search eventually enabled us to find the cache. The dogs enjoyed running around while we searched even startling a roo. Thankfully they are well trained and only pursued until called back. I was not aware of this road but the views have been stunning. TFTC
Decided a trip to Egypt was in order today, as we were staying close by (Elphinstone) Downloaded 11 caches as I knew we would probably be out of range for most of the day. What a abeautiful drive through the hills, but I would not like to have been Gorman and his band of intrepid travellers....GPS was way out in fact in the middle of othe road, so I was looking in all the obvious places on the wrong side of the road, but got found eventually on the other side
GPS was a bit out for us compared to others on the trail being quite accurate. Expanded our search and easily found. Tftc and lovely Sunday drive
Pen is missing, would have left ours but might need it for the next cache! Thanks
Looked for a while but found nothing. No signal either. Coordinates lined up as the middle of the road.

Post hike caching, avoiding the heat by doing some carcaching.
Find number 29010 for me.
Thank you Tonned for hiding this geocache.

With Karicka. Coords were about 10m out for me but we made a quick find. Thanks for the fun Tonned
Pulled up at this cache and found a large paper wasp nest covered in wasps. I didn't want to get bitten so left without looking.
Picked up my last Wonder of the World here (The Surface of the Sun), so I have finally earned the Ultimate Explorer souvenir TFTC
Tftc! Would never have found this beautiful road and area otherwise. Great weekend drive
Found at 2:36 PM GAFF1.
This section of the road was very pleasant and scenic - really enjoyed getting to this spot, but then the wheels fell off when we tried to find the actual cache.
Eventually we crossed the road and found the cache at a distance of 10 metres in a very common spot
Thanks Tonned

After a rainy day yesterday it was time to get out and find a few caches. After the GPS settled down, found stamped log and replaced. Thanks to Tonned
TFTC,
We have had a couple off rain days and it was great to get out. We decided to go for a drive and take in the valley views.
Made a quick find.

The last of this trail for me... it was GurTheWanderer’s log that sent me onto the other side of the road... Renaldo is quite dusty now... an enjoyable drive that I’ve never taken before... tftc...
Visiting Toowoomba and finding a few caches around the area. Day 2: a big loop south taking in Wyreema, Cambooya, Nobby, Clifton and Allora as well as other areas of interest along the way.

We decided that a few drive by caches were in order for today due to injuries. Gosh geocaching can be hard on the body! LOL
This one had us widening our search due to bouncing gos and a hint gone rogue.
Eventually made the find and logged our names.
This is such a nice area and I am pleased to say that I have now travelled through Egypt!

With co-ordinates on phone dancing al around the place, it did take awhile before logging. TFTC
Here we are at the last Pharaoh on the trail and do you think we could find it? The numbers were bouncing everywhere and we spent the longest time searching an ever growing radius. We didn't want to have one lonely dnf here though, so we persisted. By some luck of the gods the gps seemed to decide it should count down to somewhere new and there was the neat little hide just waiting for us. Thank goodness! Names in the log and then off to our target cache of the day. Thanks for the fun today Tonned, we have enjoyed our time on the trail
Our mini break in Woomba Woomba over we are making our way down the range on the road less traveled.

A perfect Spring day for another drive around the countryside while at Toowoomba.
And now it's time to tackle the Pharaohs trail.
Hardly any muggles around and mostly good safe hides.
Thanks for the cache Tonned,

Heading to an event today, I figured it was a good day to take a detour and find some caches, including this one! Oh dear the GPSr was all over the place here... but I got it in the end! Thanks for placing it here.
Well last in the series and should have been easy to find, but GPS had me wondering around 4 stumps, but no cache [?]
Then spied one across the road, and there it was
Either my unit was telling me 'porkies' or the co-ords are way out, but either way ..

It was an absolute pleasure to do this trail today, good placement choice Tftc
Out and about on an afternoon geocaching mission discovering more of the toowoomba area as I have only just moved here, my amazing Geo-Wife KaleidoscopeCass is a local so knows these areas well.. geocaching certainly is a good way to explore!
Loved the drive to get to this cache. I grew up in Tooowomba but my geohubby WallabyTim is from the Sunshine Coast. Great way to show him the area. TFTC
Nice easy find. Road was a bit steep but managed okay. Also found a coles collectible that we needed. TFTC
Thanks for the cache! Wonderful views of Toowoomba along this drive, roads were a little steep on the way down but no problems finding this cache. A roadworker has signed the log stating he first found it in 2013, and has found it a few more times since then!
Good drive. Had us a little stumped because there are lots of good hiding places!
We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Currently staying at Laidley today we decided to head out for a drive in the surrounding area. Got a little sidetracked and strayed further than we had loaded into the GPSr. Luckily we had GSAK with us and were able to grab coords for caches offline. Phew.

The roads were a bit steep here and we only have a sedan but it was no problem to get here and thanks to the clue we found it quickly. This was the last to find in this series and thankyou Tonned as it is beautiful here. We thought we then made a big mistake from here on as we decided to keep on driving and the roads almost disappeared at some stages and got narrow and big ditches and stones to navigate around . We opened and closed a few gates and we could see storm clouds nearing. I was getting worried my poor sedan car would not make it. My friend assured me i was a great driver and she trusted me. We ended up at spinach creek rd and got back before a big lot of rain. I think we may have been in trouble if the rain hit. A 4wd would be better but the car did make it without trouble. It made for a great adventure and that is what caching is all about. Thankyou Tonned for the fun
Thanks for this series, a council worker signed the log to say that he had found it a few years ago and he is happy that it is still here
Out doing a little bit of MTB riding around the back blocks of Ma Ma Creek and collected these caches on the home run. There are some tough little climbs ( well big climbs) in this ride. Stopping for caches provide a few much-needed breaks
We parked the cars right beside Pharaoh's Trail 1 and looped southwards and then back of Little Egypt to return to the start.
I suspect I’m the first person to complete the series ( well what is left) by mountain bike. . 56 km round trip over 1000 m elevation gain

Found under the watchful eye of a nearby roo. I hadn't read previous log referencing the guardian, but I didn't notice him lurking today. We did try to continue along the trail to get others in this series, but thought we were going into people driveways. We settled for this one today & have since figured out where we should have turned...silver lining is that we get to come back out this way & enjoy the wonderful countryside some other time! Tnsl tftc Tonned. xo
Found quickly with a huge wolf spider on it. Such a beautiful specimen. Awesome caches in an awesome setting. Thanks for a great afternoon!
Found back in August last year but forgot to log. Joojoo 57 has reminded me to log it now.

Out chasing smilies in the shadow of the Toowoomba Ranges.
Saw a few Black faced wallabies on the way to this cache.
Quickly spotted GZ & the cache from the car as we approached.
All good here.

On our way back from Stanthorpe and thought we would drive a road less travelled. Great scenery the entire drive from Clifton to Gatton.
Thought we would give this trail a go! What a climb and the change in scenery, vegetation and road conditions kept us interested the whole way.

Visiting the area with geo friends to grab a few caches, left my little car near the highway as I didn't think it would make the journey on the dirt road and hitched a ride with joojoo57. All finds were enjoyable with beautiful scenery in some places. Thanks Tonned for all the good hides and TFTC
Wow. What a great location. Thanks for bringing me here Tonned. Cache dry and safe.
Gorgeous country on a beautiful day. Nice easy find, once we started looking on the correct side of the road. 7th find of the Lockyer run with the RichardsClan. Took whistle (much to the rest of our disgust) left gem. TFTC.
Out for a day of caching with Gullivers Travels54 and we had many great finds and saw many great places. Thank you to all the CO's for the caches. Tftc
We decided on doing this series in reverse order to take advantage of the views as we drove down the hills, and they were spectacular. TFTC Tonned. Cache and contents in good condition.
This one was on the opposite side of the road to where our GPS was showing us. An easy find once we found the correct stump. SL TFTC
This was the last of our Pharaoh's caches for the day. Not being from the area, the series has taken us past some lovely scenery and given us some fun on the way to Toowoomba. It was a nice quick find - all is good with this one. TFTC Tonned (and the bumpy ride)
Heading further and further down, Maldawg assured me we didn't have to drive back up this road, phew! Lol. Good. Hide, thanks.
Heading down and down we found the spot to pull over. Mrs CacheThief was onto it and had the cache in hand quickly.

Well that was interesting! Signed the log, picked up the rock to put back on top and a largish huntsman fell off and landed on my phone. Lucky I don't have a fear of spiders but it seems he has a fear of people because he moved away very quickly!
