Nice to finally tick this one off! Solved a while ago but couldn't get to ground zero as there was nowhere easy to park. Eventually had a chance to approach on foot today, so easily located and signed/replaced. Thanks for the maintenance!
Completely replaced the old container with new double-container and new WITR log. All good to go again.
Not too much trouble making the find, but it seriously needs a new log as all the scraps were too wet to retain my pencil scribblings ):
Catching up on DNFs. Looked in all likely spots down low that match the hint with no luck. But my window was short between muggle action.
(x)Parked at the main carpark and took a stroll to get to the cache location. GZ looked familiar, though it's apparently the first time I've been here. The hint said it all, and I had no issues with the find.Log has seen better days and carefully autographed it. It probably needs replacing, but since my signing was successful... eh. Cheers.Sleepy was here!
Another one down! Many thanks for keeping this trail alive. Unfortunately this log has seen better days. Writable- j but damp
My apologies for ignoring the state of this cache. I am aiming to replace it in the coming days.
Heading to Wellington and stopped off to continue this series. Managed to find 4 more and 1 DNF. Series solved a long time ago and taking ever longer to complete. Thanks to the different CO who have adopted caches to keep the Kiwi alive. Last time I was here the fence had gone. Nice to turn that sad face into a smiley.
Quick find. Managed to find a good break in the traffic, both motor and foot. Cache was full of water and log book sodden. Managed to sign but will need replacing. Tftc
After a big day cache collecting around Wellington we got back here about 4PM. Our aim is now to collect as many kiwi puzzles before the sun goes down, basically our last opportunity before heading north tomorrow. Some DNFs but this was not one of them. Thanks to all the COs for adopting and maintaining their part of this geo-art series.
Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed south to Wellington. Lots of rainy caching but still some awesome caches and spectacular locations. Thanks to all COs!!
Day 7: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging, or space saving depending on the log size and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list - some of the very old caches in and around Wellington and trying to complete Kiwi Geo-art. We are also picking up a few challenges (will check qualifying once home).
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

Damp but all good! Dodged a ton of cars getting back and forth for this one, then realised I'd left my sunnies by the cache and had to go back for them smh. Tftc!
Last day of school holidays, thought we’d grab a few more of the kiwi before heading for a swim.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Another smiley face on the kiwi! Busy road to be crossing to get a cache but did it!
I'm on a geocaching roadie from Whangarei to Dunedin. I've had lots of puzzles solved for such a long time so geoarts were the main target of the trip.
Now it's time to start writing the massive backlog of logs which is taking a while.
In Palmy area I wanted the shield series and the 20/20 geoart. Then Wairarapa was stickman (which we ran out of time for), the new M geoart and some archived skindo challenges. Wellington was finishing off the kiwi geoart. Nelson I had a few challenges I wanted before heading to Christchurch. It was family time there and perhaps the smile series but time ran out again. Off to Dunedin for the airplane geoart. Then it was time to fly home to say goodbye to my son heading to Denmark.
My friend Supernanny came along on the trip but today she spent with family. I teamed up with 0B80B8 - a fellow team G0LD mate from Whangarei.
This puzzle series I started years ago. Some I solved in September 2015. I collected some at the Wellington Mega in 2018 but time was against me as well as roadworks on Gray's Rd. I had to resolve some as the puzzles as hides had changed since I started solving them. Parking here was dodgy but I must have been far enough off as the police drove past without stopping. A quick and easy find. I really appreciate the effort to keep this Geoart going. Thanks RogerW1nz

Was down from Northland for a few days visiting daughter who has moved into a new flat in Porirua. The weather wasn't that flash on arrival day, but the following days were quite nice, so managed to get in a little caching.
The Kiwi Geotrail puzzles were nearby and I had made a point of solving them all in the last month, so they were the prime target today. As luck would have it, fellow Team G0LD member Lis was driving through Porirua today, on her way to the South Island and she still had a few Kiwis left to find, so we teamed up for a few hours, to see if we could knock the series off.
Parking wasn't the easiest here, but we did anyway and made a quick dash to GZ, where the cache was a nice quick find. Was just about to head back to the cache mobile, when Mr Plod rounded the corner and drove past, luckily without stopping, so we can't have been blocking too much of the road. TFTC

I scooted across the road and grabbed the cache while MrM5 admired the herons feeding and took some cool photos
Out with KTG. Sun is out with us. Much better than the rain we've had this last week. All good with the cache. Nice and dry. TFTC
Thankfully the GPS led and I to just the right spot, and a bit of fossicking around was all that was needed once we were there. TFTC. KTG
Went up way too early so am now pretty wet and muddy and pricked by gorse, Found it though, so it’s all worth it!
A glorious morning for a walk around the inlet. This cache was MIA last time I was along here, so didn't look. Quick find this morning. Thanks for the replacement RogerW1NZ and itchyfeet2020.
Found with hayzz
Solved these during g lockdown 2020 so slowly making our way around

Out for another bike ride along here, nice quick find of the replacement cache, cheers
I was a DNF here on my last visit. This time I was armed with a new cache from the CO. After a second wide look I still could not find the original so replacement now in place. Great to turn this little fella's smile around on my fourth visit to the area picking up a few of the kiwi caches with each visit. Getting closer now and will only be a few left after this trip. TFTC RogerW1nz - quite literally on this occasion
Perfect timing for this missing cache to be replaced. For some reason my mobile's coords were going all over the place then staying stuck. Had to have more trust in the hint object, spot on. TFTC.
Only one of the day I didn't get my hands on. Will send more detailed info on where i searched Rogerw1nz so you can determine if needs a visit or i just didn't do a good enough job of searching! I am sure you will let me know if that's the case thanks to original CO's and those maintaining this series - its been great to have a Geo Art goal and solve a few and collect a few across a number of weekends. Enjoying my repeat visits to the area with a long term goal of turning a kiwi golden.
Have spent last week solving these puzzles with just 6 unsolved. Spending the weekend in Whitby so decided to start collecting as many as I can today. Ended up walking round the whole loop. Sadly couldn't find this one, there appears to be new fencing at GZ, so I wonder whether the cache has gone.
Kiwi GeoTrail Wha Tekau ma Rua (42)(Porirua) was transferred from WhitbyTui to user RogerW1nz
One of five kiwi caches located this afternoon, using the pathway to walk between four of them. A straightforward find once we (the geohound and I) had crossed the rather busy road. #3467. TFTC.
Another quick find, but also another that's exposed to the traffic so a bit of care needed. TFTC.
I have lost my notebook! When I go on a geotrip I record my finds and notes in a notebook or, as in the case of this big circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki that Taybeedragon and I did over Christmas, in three notebooks. And I have lost notebook number 3 - 29th December onward. Luckily I enter the caches as found on the GPS (helps with avoiding backtracking) so I am using my GPS log to identify which caches I found/DNFed. Alas, however, no cache notes. So it is now March - and I am relying on memory. A fickle thing, memory. I suspect most will have no notes above. Sorry, folks. I mean, I can see the final on the map, and sometimes that sparks a memory, but mostly - no.
Many thanks for a great geoart. I have been saving this for when I can do the whole lot in one day.

Running around Pahatahanui Inlet today to capture a family of Kiwis roaming around here. Visited Kiwi #42 while in the area. Cheers
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving abilities.
Day 23 - Saturday, 4 January 2020. Wellington. It the Kiwi series at Paramata today thats been on The Seagnoids 'must do' list for some time. Then The Seagnoid ships out. Sadly our 3 week holiday to Taranaki is over today.
Seen heaps, done heaps. Loved it. The Kiwi series is our finale. Cheers

MightyMicra and I have been busy solving many of the Kiwi Geo Trail puzzles and now we are out for an afternoon to see how many of the caches we can find. Took a wee while but found in the end. TFTC.
Had to skip this on my beach walk due to an idling car down the road. The car was gone on my way back, so I was able to quickly cross and grab. Tftc!
Today is the 14th day of our journey to the south island. I had planned to complete the Kiwi Geotrail before we head to Wellington to take the ferry to the south island. Having arrived near the Lake yesterday I was able to pick up seven of the series on our way to the campsite after visiting Rivendell and eating dinner in the Upper Hut area. We spent the night at the edge of the lake and after eating breakfast I started to collect the Kiwi Caches at around 9:30am.
I mannaged to find 55 caches today, 54 of which to complete the Kiwi. It took me a total of 10 1/2 hours to complete the trail at 8:00pm in a rather slow pace.
This was # 9 of 55 caches today.
Another puzzle that was solved a few weeks ago. We parked at the carpark down the road and walked along the rocky shore at low tide to reach GZ. Once at GZ it took me a moment of searching to make the find. Tftc.

We had a great time solving these. Sent the Mr out for this one as road busy and gets getting tired.
T# 1562 Team GST has assembled again (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ), for another caching mission. Mission for today was to finally finish the Porirua Kiwi, something I had solved about 5 years ago and have slowly worked towards finishing. Today would bring an end to that work. All up I found 28 caches today, and only 1 DNF, so unfortunately the kiwi is still unfinished but a sight closer than it was. We did the loop clockwise, and I feared for my life with some of the parking places and road crossings but all and all, it is well achievable to visit all 61 kiwis in the space of 7 or so hours. Thanks to the creators and maintainers of this series, it is a fantastic piece of geoart that still brings people to the region!
All good inside here

Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ) got together again for another caching trip. This time with a focus on finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail. We had a lovely drive around the area over 7-8 hours in which I found 70 caches. The parking at times was quite tricky and crossing the busy road was even worse but we all ended the day mostly unharmed (except for a few scratches from gorse).
I started solving all the kiwi caches only 2 weeks before our trip. Fortunately most of them were quite straight forward and the information that was required was almost immediately obvious.
#18 of 70 today. A quick find. Container and log sheet all good here.

At the previous cache there was a car parked here but moved on about the same time I did. Then it stopped where I had been and slowly started back towards me. I thought it must've been another cacher coming to say hello but it was someone in an Opus car and they continued on to where I wanted to stop next. They must've been taking photos or something because the estuary was looking stunning in the late afternoon sun. TFTC # 13,738
We were staying in Upper Hutt for the week over Easter break and hoped today was finally the day we finished off the Kiwi Geo Trail. Mums got a wee car so she managed to park not far away and I ran back to grab this one. Again the grass was wet but you just gotta get in there. Thanks to both the original owner and now the adoptive owner for the effort involved in placing and creating this series for all of us to enjoy.

Last one of the day - sneaked a few late afternoon scenic photos from this location as well. All in good condition. TFTC
I had a lot of fun, and a small amount of frustration, solving this series. I solved most of them about 5 or 6 months ago but don't often get down to Porirua these days in spite of formerly living in Whitby a long while back.
I had thought that I might get a chance to try to search for some around the time of the WENZ Mega, but it just never happened. And then some of the caches got archived! So before any more could disappear before I found them I decided that a planned visit to Welly CBD to meet some friends was the perfect opportunity to grab some. Having planned which few I would try for, time allowing, I even made notes of the co-ords for the archived ones, which was a good thing as I even found one of them!
So today I set off early to allow myself as much time as possible to get these. Parking was a bit hit and miss, with some of the locations being a few hundred metres away from a safe parking spot but no big problem thanks to the glorious weather I enjoyed throughout the morning.
This one was my seventh find for the day and a quick and easy one to attain, thanks to the Hint. So it wasn't too long before I had found the cache and signed the logsheet before replacing it all as found and heading off to the next one.
To the original CO for placing this series, and for the current CO for the maintenance,
thanks for the cache.

Attending the mega with TeamBOP. Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Sorry for the generic logs will try to add to them once back home Thanks
Today was the last official day of the Mega.
Plans were to collect as many puzzle caches that we had solved in the area plus anything else that came along.
Most of the puzzles were road side witch was extremely busy so parking in some cases were peoples driveways and balancing on road edges and some we didn't go for as they were to difficult to get to. Another day and we have to return.
Al in all a very successful day. SLTFTC

TFTC. Kiwi GeoTrail was oe of the targets for three keen MEGA attendees. KotukuSI and warfi were great companions and puzzle solvers in prep for this adventure.
We manged to complete the caches in a day (minus 2) and were truely warn out after our activities.
thanks to the original placer and the cachers who have taken over maintainence of the trail.

Headed to the Nation's capital for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters to visit the MEGA and have a blast hooning around in our rental car. I grabbed TG at 5.30 am to get to the airport and we picked up the car from the airport at 8am. We figured we needed to be back at the depot by 4.30ish. We had a blast we didn't get crazy amounts of caches but we did get heaps of different types and scored the oldest one for TG. We ended up only driving 150km for the day. The weather was good. Caches were fun and bumped into a few cachers on the road.
Another quick find as we were mopping up a few geoart puzzles.
Thanks for the cache Cherrys Rule.

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... Our big focus for today will be to clear out the Kiwi Geo Art trail around the Pauatahanui Basin. We are expecting some challenges here - narrow roads and lots of muggles. With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, and McJandals...
Sunday: We were a little more relaxed today, since there were no pressures to be at certain places on time... Onto the Kiwi Geo Trail. We enjoyed solving each of the puzzles in this series. Each one provided just the right amount of challenge. What a great variety of authentic kiwiana puzzles...
We managed to find most of the Kiwis in their hides. Some were in a lot better condition than others, and we can imagine how challenging it might be to maintain some of them. We found the speed and flow of traffic, and tight parking made things difficult at times. We learnt to be resourceful and resilient as the day drew on. In all, thanks to each of the COs for your input into this series... Apologies for the cut and paste logs. TFTP and TFTC.

Talking with TheWanglers, an age ago it seems; that if WENZ made Mega we should look at taking a daytrip up from Christchurch to visit.....It did; and as it worked out - we could. So here we are. Early morning flight in, and a late afternoon flight out. A day trip full of fun, caches, dodgy parking...and more fun.
Woohoo. Onwards. Would be easier driving the other direction I think...tricky parking here!

Solved this series a while ago, many of the puzzles were reasonably straightforward but a few required a bit more work to get the right answer. We came down this weekend to attend the MEGA nearby so planned to spend a few hours on the Sunday in this area to pickup this series. That proved a little more challenging than first thought as we had plenty of other distractions in Upper Hutt and there is a lot more walking involved to grab some of these caches than we had anticipated. We ended up getting around half of them on the Northern side of the harbour (some of which proved to be difficult to find places to park on the side of a busy road) before we had to get back to the airport. Thanks for this interesting series.
There was very little space to park along this stretch of road so stopped at a small beach area down the road and walked back to these 3 caches. Road was quite busy but made my way along the small side strip without problem to all of them.

Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
11th of the kiwi geoart puzzle day with gely57. Embarrassingly I didn't know half these names. Used to this hint as I have cached a lot in the Wairarapa. TFTC.
Worked out the co-ords with Teahan Family and as we are both over for the MEGA event we tried to complete the series today. Some caches were found in very good condition (being looked after by SAROC) and some that are in need of attention with wet logs and rusty containers. Really enjoyed the series, thanks CO.
I am on a solo geocaching trip. I flew in from Christchurch yesterday. My focus today was my visit to the Dutch Embassy yo renew my passport. Once that was done it was back to geocaching. Concentrating on the Geo art and anything else that grabbed my attention.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

We decided earlier in the week we were going to head towards Wellington instead of the Napier Hastings areas as previously decided to get some caches and get numbers up to be able to collect the Hidden creatures souvonairs. last weekend we got 32 so we need another 68. this is cache number 3 for the day, an early 8.30am start well not really its a late start or us but no muggles or traffic around makes caching around this area alot easier. another nice quick find thank you for placing puzzle caching around this lovely area. cache was all good here. now onto cache number 4.TFTPC a great KIWI series
Enjoyed the puzzle and finding the cache was straightforward, log a little damp but managed to sign OK
Nice to find this today after a couple of previous visits without success. Log full and not legible, so signed over old entries. TFTC
‘GeoTrail Forty-two’ said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm. A quick find before breakfast; improbably collected for our 100, 10, 7 Challenge; panically logged as B&D. So long, and thanks for the cache Cherrys Rule!
Learning a lot with this series! Found with barefootguru as part of 100,10,7 challenge on 2/1/18. TFTC!
A bit of deja vu as it was pretty well an identical hide to the previous cache I had done in this series just a few minutes earlier. Log was damp but usable owing to the type of paper used.
TFTC.
TFTC.
its fantastic caching weather!
hubby offered to be my driver, I was thankful as it made him parking while I walked back to get the caches, busy road and are looking forward to doing the rest. thanks for the placement.

I haven't been caching for a month as life has gotten in the way, so I decided last night that the weather was looking great and that a caching trip down to the Pauatahanui inlet to continue searching for the Kiwi Geotrail caches was in order. I solved most of these over a year ago, so this trip is well overdue. Left Feilding bright and early, stopped in Levin for breakfast and made it to my first cache still early in the day.
Another quick and easy find here this afternoon. Tftc

I came out this way to do some maintenance on a cache I adopted yesterday. While I was in the area I stopped here to have a look for this one. Funny thing is I parked right next to GZ for this cache and walked back to the other one to replace the log before I worked out that I didn't need to move the car to get to this one.
Anyway, the cache is in good condition. A little bit damp but that is not surprising given all the spring rain we've had recently!
Thank you
Cherrys Rule

Parking --thank goodness we had a small car, and thank goodness for the walkways now on this road. But as usual Sunju and I won. TFTC
Last weekend I had a road trip with CNAH. Feilding to Plimmerton to Ohariu Valley to Makara to Taita/Upper Hutt and back to Plimmerton. We drove past several of these caches over the weekend but the traffic was very heavy and there was no great places to stop. However, determined to not go home without them we returned on the Sunday morning and parked up and decided to walk around the roadside to get them. Having lived my childhood in this area it was unreal to experience the heavy traffic around here. However, this was quickly found and logged and all good. TFTC
13 August 2017 11:23. Dashed around the inlet trying to complete the kiwi today. TFTC
Another drive along this route on a wet day - worth it as the kiwi is beginning to take shape. This one reminds me of Skindo. TFTC
This one was a reasonable quick find. Signed as RE as I'm caching with Ethnz again. TFTF.
Found with no problems. Please see main log at no 1. Many thanks

out with Red Roaming as we continue our tour of New Zealand as my 'reward' for taking early retirement. (Yes I have to go back doing 23 hrs per week). Logs signed DD & RR. soon found. TFTC and the puzzle
Today is the day to head back down South to catch the ferry back to the Mainland, but first there are some formalities to take care of at the end of this recent course. With all that taken care of by 10 this morning, and having a G P S bursting with potential stop-offs down the line I set out with all sorts of different plots and plans. As it was I grabbed a handful of traditionals and a smattering of kiwi art puzzles in Porirua harbor (which was rather brown today) I probably ended up driving past numerous other unsolved caches there but that's for another day, or not.
A pleasant few caches and arrived at the ferry in plenty of time for a sleep in the car as the afternoon sun belied the coolness of the Southerly blow.
T F T Cs from all the COs.

I took family members to Wellington Airport for a late afternoon flight, & found ten of the Kiwi GeoTrail puzzle caches on my way back to Palmerston North. Thanks for the cache, & for the puzzle.
#3075. The last day of spring. The last day of Nov and I needed 2 more caches to reach 250 finds in this month for a challenge series. Decided to target more caches that I have solved on the Kiwi geotrail to boost up numbers for the day. This was the second one. Parked nearby but it was quite boggy off the tarseal so had to be very careful not to get stuck. Raced back to make a very quick find of the cache. The log is damp but the paper is still fine to write on so signed it and replaced the container as found. Thanks for maintaining this cache.
I noticed that the remaining caches in the Kiwi geotrail that I was yet to find were all recently enabled so made it a mission today to pick them up to complete the Kiwi. The last on this particular walk from the parking location and another quick find. TFTC
#2588 Making the most of a beautiful Wellington day and clearing up some of the Kiwi Geotrail with bijouxtoo. TFTC!
Another quick find. Left Havelock North at 5am this morning picking up jordiporsche on the way. An overnight stay in welly to grab as many caches as we can including all the kiwi geo art puzzle's. Log signed as b&p.Tftc XboomstickX - adopted by gasbottle. Find # 3181
Kiwi GeoTrail Wha Tekau ma Rua (Porirua) was transferred from KingSportS to user gasbottle
I don't understand why so many caches are pill containers. Just about every one has a wet log and this is no exception. Paper is water resistant but all the names are smudged. Quick find BTW after dashing across the road from the shoreline.
Found during a morning's caching searching out some previously solved "Kiwi GeoTrail" caches.
There's little that passes for parking along this road, so I resorted to HiViz vest and walking the shoulder - not fun
That said, this cache was a nice easy find, so I could move along quickly.

It took me a while to find this one because it had become a bit buried. Fortunately I have gardening gloves in my geocaching kit so didn't mind scratching away in the dirt. I got there in the end, just as I was about to give up. That's another of the Kiwi Geo Trail ticked off. Tftc.
