Last time I was here I was muggled but thankfully today no one was about- except the rubbish and broken glass. Managed to get up to GZ where I saw a reptile cache guardian tail slither under the bridge. If I was to guess I reckon it had legs! TFTC!!
I agree, it's always disappointing to come to an area and find it spoiled by some people. Found quickly here, well hidden from the rabble.
Found it, the cache is in good condition, nicely hidden. Mindless people who do not care one little bit about what they leave behind while on this planet. Crazy.TFTC
There was a couple of cars parked under the bridge so I have abandoned my attempt today
Another gloomy day where the weather won't make up its mind if it wants to rain or give us some sun.It makes you wonder what type of people would come out this way to make the area so unpleasant, lucky enough no sort of people were around for us to make a quick discovery. Thanks for placing for us to find.
A lovely cloudy day to head out for some caching. I had arranged with Sol de lune before we were going to the Canberra Mega, that this week would be a good week to head out together and get some caches. So we headed out in the Geo Tucson, with some Easter eggs as snacks to try and get some caches between Ballarat and Geelong. This is our fourth and final bridge cache for the day. The evident boganism that brought about the cache name is disappointing as suggested by ozbob. However when you look past the graffiti and rubbish it is still a lovely view. No bogans today so safe to find and log. Thanks for placing this cache ozbob
Out for a day trip with JTreeTrack2 and this was our next stop. Not the smartest thing I did today, but managed to get to GZ and soon had the cache in hand. Log signed, cache replaced and then took the long way around to get back down to the car. Thanks for the cache ozbob...
After a bit of a scramble this was a quick and easy find.We were impressed with the swallows nests.TFTC
Yep - could do with a CITO here! Today marks the great escape - from or to reality! Either way time to recalibrate and get back to caching. So planned a multi mission to Geelong with kbucky and Weirdobiker. It was a perfectly glorious day to paddle on the Barwon so this is an obvious bonus. Not too hot not too windy and with little flow we did a return trip targeting a clutch of 5. Caches found relatively easily with no dramas. Love the serenity and camaraderie. Thanks for your caches, the challenges and the FUN FUN FUN
You are so right ozbob - this area under the bridge is a disgrace! Found going yuck yuck yuckBut as I was here, had to do it. TFTC ozbobRegardskbucky
This was a bit of an undesirable spot, but a quick find. We didnt have a pen, so back to the car we went and the log was soon signed
Out for a days caching with Alansee. Someone has dumped chemicals and 3 chickens which followed us around. The smell of something very dead also. Thanks for the cache ozbob
Great hide. I have enjoyed discovering similar spaces since starting geocaching. As I scrambled back to the car, I had the pleasure to witness up-close the sudden touchdown of a light plane on the airstrip. Had no idea the landing strip was right there until (it felt like) the plane nearly landed on top of me.
Thanks for the cache, we forgot a pen so couldnt write in your log book. Good hide.
A quick climb up the hill, and found this one pretty easilythanks for the cachePika 28/10/23
On the way home to Ballarat from the Anglesea wildflower show and took dads 'short cut' home. That suits me just fine cause I was able to grab a bunch on caches! This is such a beautiful location, lovely place to stop for a breather. Located the cache after a little climb, signed the log and admired the view. TFTC
Am down in Geelong for the Airshow. I threw in the yak in case I had some spare time - well actually, I made sure I had spare time.
After a kayak mission, I explored gz and soon had log signed. Cache is in good condition. TFTC deshut

Thanks Ozbob, nearly 10 years since it has been placed and the area remains unchanged and remains full of litter and graffiti.
Tunnel vision; definitely something I suffered from with this cache in the past. I'd been here to search at least a couple of times in the past but a few years ago, but I'd never been successful. Today I was on a drive and thought I'd stop by, thinking maybe I'd see it from a different angle. Thankfully I did, and I found it within a minute or two.
Thanks for the hide!

Decided to head out for a quick cache and this one was on the list. Unfortunately this place looks like a rubbish tip and was glad this was a quick find because I wanted to get the heck outta there. Great spot for a CITO!!!

Found whilst waiting for my babe dalerious to come back from dropping our car off to our end journey carpark as we are paddling a stretch of the Barwon today, for me the first time on this river. I am glad to report that the cache is indeed there safe and well . Now on to the river on this very cool day in February. Thank you ozbob for this cache. The area has been tidied up a little, which is a good thing . It beggers belief why people would want to rubbish this beautiful country of ours [:o].
I had two muggles at gz, but I took the chance anyway. The cockrel crowd in delight at my find!
Off to Ballarat today, we left early to take a roundabout trip so we could pick up specific caches that will fill dates on calendars or assist us in qualifying for challenge caches. Wow, the area under the bridge is a total tip; humans can be disgusting. After navigating our way around the various couches, sheets of plaster and other detritus, we made our way to GZ. We love this sort of hide, particularly when there are no eight-legged cache guardians. The cache was safe and dry as a bone, which isn't a surprise as water levels would have to be very high to make it wet. Thank you for this cache ozbob.
*WesPro's "Got Stood Up So Went Geocaching But Didn't Read Any Of The Notes Before I Got There" Adventure #1*
I approached this cache, but there was a muggle fishing (and watching), so I declined to try to lay hands on it.
However, I am fully in agreement with your seniments regarding this location, and many others. I've spent most of the last two years doing "solo CITOs", rather than actual caching. Rest assured over the course of the few caches I attempted today, I picked up over fifty glass bottles, aluminium cans and plastic bottles, in your honour.
Thanks for the cache, ozbob, and hope to try it again soon!

TFTC ... Will have to come back with some gloves and bags... Too nice a spot to leave like this.
Nearly forgot to look for this whilst we were in the area. Remembered to find and sign this one when we went back to get the second car. Thanks for the cache, it was a relatively quick find.
A reasonably quick find for us when in the area to do some yakking caches. Thanks for placing this.

After doing the car shuffle, we found this one tucked away nice and dry.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, ozbob

Off on a cacheing adventure for the start of the year. It is a nice spot, would be good for camping if a little bit cleaner!
Found with Cybergran V and her MuggleHubby. [^]
A qhick parkngrab... well...
paddlengrab.
We came by here for a T5 on the river but couldn't leave an easy cache on dry land just sitting there so close to our launching site.
TFTC ozbob. I must say I'm surprised to see this cache standing the test of time considering the less than desirable condition of the area. [:o]

How sad it is to see such a pretty spot despoiled with litter and graffiti.
We are visiting the area to attend five events in Geelong tomorrow, two of them CITOs. This would be an ideal spot for a CITO. Unfortunately we didn’t have any rubbish bags with us.
Whilst dalerious was paddling his dinghy on the Barwon, he messaged us that we were parked right next to this cache, so Muggle Hubby did the honours and located this one to add our names to the log.
Thanks for the cache, hoping to catch up with you tomorrow at some of the events.

Day 3 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
Today was to be our kayaking adventure along a stretch of the Barwon. [^] The weather didn't look good but the kayaks got wet but then so did I. The waterproof GPS decided it wasn't any longer waterproof and stopped working as did the phone we had. [:(!] Luckily the GPS was an old one used for kayaking but it was back to the digs for the new one, a change of clothes and back to visiting waypoints for the numerous multi caches and epic multi stage mysteries started on previous visits and the previous two days. This is how the day unfolded
Almost to the launch site we called in for a quick find here in the first place we looked.

Found while hunting for some WPs in the area. I’m seeing the best and worst of Geelong through caching. So sad to see this with rubbish al over it. Still, a good cache in an area I wouldn’t have seen otherwise! Thanks for this one!
After doing some paddling on the Barwon River we decided to look for a land based cache for a bit of light relief, This one was not hard to find and names were soon added to the log. The only witness was a cooing pigeon who was quite happy looking down from above.
Thanks go to ozbob for placing this cache.

It is such a shame that people can trash such a beautiful area. However, it is good to find a hidden container without any problem. TFTC.
Found on a weekend trip caching and kayaking on the Barwon with Beaker, Bucketeer, Goitsy and Scouter101. Thanks
Found on a 23.5 km kayak caching odyssey that took 11 hours with Bucketeer, Ferocious Flea, Goitsy and Scouter101. River level was down a little, which made for some quite challenging progress at times throughout the day.
Last cache for the day as this point is where we exited the river. Some locals had camped near by and there was a roaring fire going which was greatly appreciated after rolling the kayak into the water a few hours previously.

3 South Australians and 2 Victorians from near the SA border headed across last night and camped beside the Barwon in anticipation of anther great paddle down the Barwon, this time with another load of newly published caches after last paddling down in December 2017.
While the river looked full near our campsite near Inverleigh we soon realised we had left our run a little late this year and lack of flow made hard work of what last year were fun rapids and logs that were easily crossed.
Launching at Murgheboluc we paddled for 10 hours to navigate the 23.5 km of river to Merrawarp Road, sore, tired and cold but I'd do it again!
After packing up we wandered over here to try and find one last cache for the day.

After a couple of missions looking for this and extended discussions with both CO and previous finders it was assumed this was missing. CO kindly accepted my offer to replace with a new container/log which I have done. Location and size are the same as the previous cache, although it is no longer metal, you are now looking for a small sistema (100ml I think they are)
Was interesting to note that the area around GZ has been cleaned up substantially to what has been described in previous logs, makes me wonder whether the cache went missing as part of said cleanup.

Day 1 of our road trip around Cressy, Colac, Lake Elizabeth and Lorne. Of course collecting a few cache along the way. Many quick drivebys, a muddy stomp with the kids put to Area 51, and a reasonable sunset to finish. TFTC everyone. Has been a fun day.
GeoHubby and I dragged the GeoKids out of the house in order to find our cache for the day. This one seemed fairly straightforward and I hoped there was not much rubbish and no undesirables. When we turned up we found the burned out shell of a car instead. It was fascinating and horrifying - the wire from the tyres, the melted metal on the grass, the smoky smell. The GeoKids had a thousand questions about how and why it was there.
We continued on past the wreckage and to the GZ, where the cache was quickly discovered. Yay! After some miserable caching efforts yesterday this was a relief.
Log signed and all replaced as found.

What a pleasant surprise to see that this area was almost free of dropped off rubbish, do hope it lasts! Cache was found OK, excellent co ords. Thanks ozbob.
TFTC - why are people so dirty!! We paddled on the lovely river but this area is ruined with rubbish!!
Arrived today to set out with Jacko83 and AusFox; to check to see if 'The Expedition' has survived the recent rains.
On arrival found this one easy.
Sad to see rubbish laying around especially after finding out there was a clean up here only 1 month ago.

Quick find. Certainly needs a good tidy up of the area! We'd need a whole trailer to clean this area up! Tftc.
We nearly missed looking for this one, I was about to head off when alansee said to me , have your found the trad here?
The area was certainly a mess when we arrived but by the end of the CITO it was looking a lot more respectable and the Graffiti had been covered up with some paint provided by the council.
The cache was a nice easy find and our name was added to the log.
Thanks for the cache.

Found this one after attending the CITO event and just before we headed off we managed a quick find after a short search. There area was certainly a lot cleaner now after the mornings effort, even the paint that covered over the graffiti was still wet near the gz. Thanks ozbob for the hide.
A very good question. Council tip fees too high is the only possible extenuating circumstance that I can think of. Found easily with a group assault today.
Found with Feathertop while attending the CITO event. Lots less rubbish and graffiti here now. TFTC
Here to attend the Cito event with Happy pants, omegaman1971 and Yoshi Warriors, signing as DRAG Team, so made this quick find and nice to see the improvement in the area.

With four events today in Geelong (of which I could make it to three), why not head down this way for the day. I attended the CITO here, and was about to leave when someone asked if I'd done the cache here. I didn't even realise that there was one, but followed a small group of cachers to GZ where the cache was quickly found.
My thanks to ozbob for the cache.

In the Geelong area to attend a number of events, visit a number of earthcaches and see whether I could find 25 caches for the day without utilising a power trail this cache contributed to the effort.
A nice quick find today whilst at the CITO event with the kids. I will need to come back for a paddle on this gorgeous location soon!
Found this one in the comapny of Mischief18 today whilst cleaing up this unsavoury area.

This one was very close to my kayak launch site for my 8.5 kilometre paddle on the Barwon so when I arrived back and before I headed off to the CITO event on the Barwon, I made a quick trip over to this one.
It was a bit slippery on the way up and down but I was able to make a quick find of the cache even though it is no longer the same container as described in the cache description.

We were cheching out the recent floods and realised there was a cache here. Nice. This cache is in a very safe location, not going to be flooded out!! Retrieved and replaced. All good. Grass very long and I think I stepped on an ants nest along the way, I had ants crawling up my leg. Oh dear. Tftc.
A nice easy find on our way to the surf coast for a day of geocaching on election day. Looks like a good spot to go for a paddle if we had the right equipment. But not today. Cache was found in good order. Thanks for the hunt OzBob.
TFTC! Great spot, took us off the main road to this spot. Someone has burnt a car out and left it here, sadly. The Barwon flows gently below the bridge and some great bird life here too. Two hawks were out circling, while we stalked the cache. Steep, but good quick find. All good at GZ. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the hide. Cheers!
We have been to this area quite a few time doing all the nearby water caches and always seem to run out of time to have a look for this little guy.
Today I was in the area dropping off my kayak so Nevil_devil could completed the Exploration with kalianda09 and because I had meet Neville here a little early we had a chance to finally turn this little fella into a smiley.
We made the short walk from the cars to GZ which was nice and easy. The last little bit was a bit steep but easy enough and a quick find was made spotted by Neville_devil.
Log book was extracted and signing duties completed and all returned as found.
Thank you ozbob for another smiley to our map of ever growing smileys

We do agree with you "Why do they do it?" It could be such a lovely area by the river. Geohubby proved yet again that he was up to the challenge of getting to the cache and finding it. Fortunately there were not muggles about this am!

Yes ozbob, why does this happen? Disgusting. We found this cache after using this spot to launch for our paddle up the river today. Thanks for the cache.
Today turned out to be one of my favorite days of caching to date. With the yak and gear loaded the night before, I was up very early and heading for Geelong for some kayaking fun out around Cunningham Pier before heading for a big yak adventure along the Barwon River followed by some terra firma caching with the D2B series of caches.
The weather was not too bad until I was heading back to the car up the Barwon River when it started to rain lightly. Not too bad I thought but by then time I got to the D2B series the rain was coming down in torrential downpours and even though I got soaked through as I raced from the car to each cache, I wasn't deterred; luckily I had a few changes of clothing (from past experience) that I could change into and at least drive home nice and dry.
The paddle up and down this section of the Barwon River was definitely not what I expected. I was thinking a long straight flowing river, not this tranquil body of water that snaked around a plethora of bends and turns, dodging over hanging tress and branches, 'paddling', if that's what I could call it, through thick green azola growing over the water, even passed a number of floating sheep (a bit on the nose), but the tranquility and scenery is was got me, absolutely amazing. After almost 5 hours on the water I made it back to the car both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. A big thanks to the CO's that placed the caches I found along the way too, with out you guys I may never had discovered this amazing place and had such a great time.
Having traveled west up the Barwon I arrived back here where the car was parked for some refreshments before heading east down river. While doing so I headed over to find this cache. A short search and I had it found. With the log signed and cache rehidden, I was soon back on the water. Thanks ozbob for the hide.

First log on our five day road trip to Great Ocean road and surroundings.
We found this cache during our vacation in Singapore and Australia. It all started last autumn when it was decided that the GP Speedway would end the season this year with a race in Melbourne. We decided to go and later plans expanded.
Thank you ozbob for the cache and regards from Sweden!
