A lovely day for a drive to North Canterbury with Karma Reprint and Lorok. No problems here, no one about unlike last time I was up here. Cheers
Had a great day full of geocaching with Kiwi Moose and karma reprint. On this sunny day we went around Rangiora for visiting an event and plenty of caches.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides and thanks to Kiwi Moose and karma reprint for taking me on this trip full of fun.

Spent the afternoon road testing the new cache wagon and picking up some caches in the Lowburn area. This was a fairly quick find on a stunning autumn afternoon. Tftc
#12295. Good to come across a hall cache that wasn't hidden under the hall (it would be pretty hard to hide a cache under this one!). TFTC.
Another gorgeous autumn day just asking for a caching expedition so we headed north of the Ashley to turn some green icons into smiles, travelling as far north as White Rock. It's been a while since we were last in the area and I'm pretty sure I've not been to White Rock before so had an enjoyable time exploring these North Canterbury roads. Thanks to the COs for their cache placements.
We like hall caches as it usually means good parking but sometimes the caches are hidden underneath which can be a pain when the ground is damp, but not problems with this find today. TFTC.

After several days in Chch and surrounds we headed home today but of course made time to find some caches on the way. As well as caching around Ashley and Loburn we returned to the Greta Valley to finish what we didn't have time for on our way south.By the time we reached home last night our count for the day was 53, tired but satisfied with our efforts for the week. The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or on some case with our full names.
Thank you to all CO's whose caches we found this week.

After caching managed to hold us up for two days we're heading for home. Not without picking up caches on the way and not so on the way though. And a detour via Greta Valley to take care of some unfinished business from a few days ago on the way down. The landscape is a lot more pleasant here than both the dry and irrigated land further South. A good variety of caches were found. Nice after doing some series on days previous. Our final tally for this multi day raid was 380+. Thank you bryn00213
I found this one with the help of some other people. I'm still new to geocaching.
More like a pot or container than a tube which made it harder to find than it should of been. Found with gourdie. Tftc.
On an impromptu drive around North Canterbury today, mainly to pick up a couple of the DOC caches before the competition ends. This was the first stop on a day where I was planning to find a whole lot more, by it got cut short by rain. Took longer than it should have to find, but eventually found it tucked away. TFTC (2581)

Day 11 of my Kiwi adventure started with some retail therapy, followed by a catch up with some other cachers for a bit of a numbers run. The weather was not too good, so perfect for not spending too much time outside. Caught up for a quick bite in town with Kyzabra, jinta29 and GreenGeckos. We now had a target of 30 odd caches for my new friends to get 100 caches for the day.

Kyzabra and I headed over for the Christchurch Mega from Perth, WA. Today we were joined by The Green Geckos today and ahomburg, we targeted some of the larger series around this area.
We had a fantastic time caching in the cooler climate and with no fear of snakes or other nasties! Christchurch is my old home town but I did not know about caching when I lived there so it was fun exploring the City with a different objective.
We were glad to grab the smiley on this one and we replaced the container as found. Thanks bryn00213 for placing this and bringing us to this spot!
This is my find #4441 and find #98 today.

A caching expedition that has been months in the planning. Jinta29 and I headed over from Perth, and today we met up with the GreenGeckos again for a final day assault on NZ caches. ahomburg joined us after lunch in Kaiapoi
We have had a ball over here. Personally my first trip to NZ. The cache owners have been great and Ive enjoyed meeting people aling the way.
i apologise in advance for the generic log.

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.
Monday. Day Four, Area 4. Today we ventured north up towards Amberley. A change of scene from the long straight roads on the plains that we had experienced in the previous days. We then headed back to Pegasus and Rangiora to round out the day with a bit of urban caching.
Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found.
Cheers and TFTC

Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces.

Found, not in the right place according to the hint, in a broken container. I almost cut my finger on the broken glass.

Glass container is broken on both sides, almost cut myself. Needs maintenance.
Removed hint as it was wrong, will replace log with waterproof paper asap. Thanks CO
Quick find. No longer magnetic, but co-oords still good. Log paper quite damp, so left some dry stuff in the tube. TFTC
Having an Easter "it's all about the numbers" weekend. Day 4.
Called by for a quick park and grab.

As per previous logs - this cache needs some maintenance. The logbook is starting to get wet (you just wonder considering our dry summer). We did not read the hint, so can not say whether it is in the correct place, but found without any problems. TFTC
Needed to get No 2 off to sleep so decided to take them both out in the car with Mrs SB, one to look for "treasure" and the second to sleep. This took a while as the hint put me off track but No 1 quickly grabbed it and put me to shame. Thanks for the hide.
I did a mini road trip today, solo. I really enjoyed tinkering about and finding this cache amongst them all.
I apologize for the EXTREMELY late log. 5th and last day of our End of Year caching trip. Last night we stayed at furpurse's house in ChCh and today we are heading home via the Travelling Tinkers powertrail. A very quick find here. Thanks for the cache
Had a yummy Christmas lunch then thought we would go off and find some caches. 36 caches later and 3.5 hours gone we are back home
Lovely day for a drive
Merry Christmas!

Would be fascinating to find out just how many country halls are scattered around the country. Many of them still in use, but many left deteriorating and unmaintained. Thanks for pointing this one out to us .
We were following the planned route and so on the way to Raithby when we found ourselves going past here so slammed on the anchors for the find and then continued on. TFTC #6309
This needs checking because, if the hint is correct, then parts seem to be missing. Is now ground level at present.
Was found lying in a puddle and not as per hint. Nice place to stop and grab a cache for the MadBearMeg team, thanks for the cache.
The trio of MadCat, BBear and JustMeg had trouble finding this one as it wasn't where it was meant to be. We eventually spotted it in a puddle on the ground but the logbook was dry and I poked it back in hopefully a more secure place. TFTC
We stopped by here while out tinkering with BBear and MadCat. Item was not found as hint suggested and I got a free shower from the overflowing guttering for my efforts while I was checking possible hiding spots. MadCat made the discovery and then we weren't sure just where it should be put back as the hint object seemed to be missing.
Quick find near the end of the day for us. Been a wonderful sunny Spring day out caching.
Quick stop and find and can probably now count the country halls visited as close to 30. TFTC
Second time to this one, first time a car of muggels were sitting in front of it and were not moving this time a quick stop and back onto the road. TFTC
We took a wrong turn and ended up here... So I suggested we make our wrong turn useful and find a cache. Positive thinking. TFTC
TFTC. Out for a drive to Rangiora and beyond to finish the planned caching route from last weekend. I had a front seat view of the Norwester being over run by the Southerly while still managing to avoid the rain until I was driving home.
A nice wee spot to stop for a cup of tea and a quick log sign.
Thanks bryn00213 for placing the cache.

Out on a night raid with Team_Gaters. The weather was holding out and it was warm. Once we hit the country side there were so many stars out. Quick find at GZ. No pen tonight! Lucky I had TG . Nice to get some of these back road caches.
Thanks for the cache.

Out on an evenings caching adventure with TheWanglers. A neat wee spot & nice wee hide. Cheers.
Sixteen hours, 100 caches, mission from Rolleston to North Canterbury and back. #20 of 100. No worries here. TFTC.
A nice afternoon cruising to Rangiora and back. A quick find, a sneaky spot. Thanks for the hide.

So I had done a challenge in Wairarapa where I needed 11 more caches in November first to qualify... but hating logging out of order, I had to find those 11 before I could continue in my logging!!!
First Saturday of November then, and I headed out past Rangiora to find these caches.
1st of the mini trip, and a nice quick one too. Though may have been partially broken... works as is, but will need some maintenance.

Out for an early morning caching adventure with Cuddlebunnie. The GPS alerted us to this cache while we were heading to a nearby cache. We backtracked here after locating that one. As noted there are not too many places for it to hide.
[A "quick" North Canterbury cache raid after work, I thought. It won't take long and there's an FTF to be had at Directional, I thought. Wrong. Four and a half hours, 12 caches AND I was beaten to Directional! A fun afternoon was had regardless and I now know of some nice picnic spots and lovely walks to come back for. The hint no longer applies (]nor does the term 'hide', really. I did my best to hide it but not much cover around).[

5288. Arrived to find a large truck parked right at GZ with muggle workmen having refreshments. Waited until they had gone and then quickly found the cache. Loved the container/attachment but unfortunately they were separated so made temporary repairs using a small plastic bag in the meantime. Thanks, Rodney and Iris.

Snug as a bug in all this rain. Quickly found and signed under an umbrella. Thanks.
Planned a cyclocache ride out to North Loburn to take advantage of projected NWerly push home once the forecast NWer set in. The plan worked. Cache was an easy find as it was not where it had initially been placed - there was nothing for the invisible force to grasp. Nice 54km ride. Thanks for the cache.
A nice Afternoon to blow the Cobwebs away,we always enjoy coming up this way.Found it quicly as it was lying on the ground. It was put it back as we found it,but gave it some natural cover.
Sadly the Hint is not correct.!!TFTC

Drove by here twice this morning but didn't know there was a brand new cache! Could have been FTF (twice!). Never mind, another day. Rodney.
Well there I was contemplating a bike ride looking out at the rain and checked the forecast - Rain next 10 days. Stir crazy already. Saw the cache was published, looked at the time contemplating FTF. Nah. Not after this time so I did other stuff but came back to possibility of FTF dragging me out the door and drove.
Woohoo! FTF @ 1305H and less stir crazy too. Thanks Bryn. Good cache. I've ridden past here many times and thought about a cache but often has muggles and their activities at the hall. Co-ords spot on at 0 metres
