Located on private property where squatting and apparent illegal activity is going on
I had a quick look for this one, but however, I absolutely wouldn't recommend a cache here. There's a large dog present, along with signs saying "smile, you're on camera" and, worst of all, clear signs of squatting and illegal activity. Fortunately there were no people around, though his seems like the kind of place I'd be greeted with an angry mob, a gun, or worse. As I entered the back way, I walked down the driveway to leave (the driveway seems to last forever) getting around the gate to get out was also a challenge. I'll be messaging the CO privately about this, but I recommend, for your own safety, to stay away from this area

Epic spot for a cache. Would fave if I could have fond it. Spewin DNF. Super long grass and no cache at GZ.
came to this one I'll equipped and with two little boys. Great walk and view though!!!
At the spot the coords point to there's a relatively big tree fallen over and the cache is now probably buried under it.
But still worth going up there for an amazing view.

This was a pretty quick fine once I was at the top.

I miss read the description and parked at a boulder just near the trespassing entrance.
Oh well I thought so I shimmied my way around the wall and proceeded up this way.
I walked it in 10 mins up the driveway amazed all the way how on earth they managed to get concrete to stay on this hill whilst screeding it to a good surface.
On arrival I found the cache open and the contents strewn across the ground in the prickles. No Log to be found but I managed to gather up various swaps and path tags including one I have taken.
I have kept this one and placed the other Flintstones one back in cache.
I have replaced the log with a note book I had with me and re-stashed the cache but it may not be safe as there seems a lot of signs of partying and unwanted visitors to the site.
Maybe its time for a slight relocation on the same site.
Lovely views and a bit of intrigue at the shell itself wondering of all the possibilities this site could still have.
Then I walked down risked life and limb to climb around the wall only to realize after that the gate doesn't even have a lock. What an idiot ! God I love the smell of caching in the morning.

We have been trying to get this off the "to do" list for quite some time now and today was the day. With a terrain rating of only three and a name like Cardiac Castle we were not sure what we were in for. Now we are not strangers to hard climbs and maybe we were still a little weary and leg sore from climbing the pyramid on Tuesday, but we don't think so. But seriously, three for the terrain rating. We feel that at least for the average cacher a four to four and a half would be more realistic.
Now that we have got that off our chest, the views from the top were fantastic. We have looked into the structure and have found out that a man had intended to build a castle on the top and that he kept changing his mind about what he wanted done that eventually the company that was doing the plans just walked away from the job.

This was great fun thank you!!
Once we reached GZ It was a little hard to get to, very over grown with blackberry bushes! Whipper snipper would have been handy.
But we found it! Lots of fun.

OMG! I nearly died reaching this cache but the view is totally worth it. Forgot our pen and there is none in the cache. Terrain should be scored a 5!!
Man was this cache a workout to get to!! Worst of all I climbed my way to the top and forgot THE PEN!! Didnt get to sign the log but took a picture. My legs were killing me more than my heart!! Had fun though TSLS TFTC
TFTC and the minor heart attack. Regret not bringing water but the view is well worth it. I havnt been here in probably 16 years!! The builders must be busy
Haven't visited this spot since high school, and it would seem it is still a hangout for delinquents. There was a backpack containing spray cans and a smaller one containing some happy herbs on top of the cache. On the way back down from another cache (sort of) nearby, I called back in to find the other bags gone... It would seem the rascals were hiding nearby and may have witnessed me signing the cache... Hope it's still there :/ SL TFTC!
This one definitely got the heart pumping! Halfway up the almost vertical track, Rummaging_Remins & I were already sweating. Luckily the cool southerly breeze took the edge off.
Once at ground zero we were greeted by the 'castle'... The main resemblance to a castle would be that most of the rooms looked like they were going to be dungeons! No windows & steel doors... strange.
Would be a great spot for a house. The views are fantastic.

Found @ 15:55
This one has been on the to-do list for awhile and finally had the time & energy to attack it. Halfway up I was already grumbling about the decline to come. After a quick breather at the top, made the find took a couple pics and was disappointed the was a branch in way blocking a clear view of our home..... Hmph. The decline did include a couple slides. As it had been raining earlier today but eventually made it to the bottom with any injuries... Glad I have an auto to drive home, I'm not sure my wobbly legs could have driven a manual
Appreciated the hide and opportunity to explore this arvo

Another beautiful day in paradise environment of FNQ. On this GOOD Friday I am out and about on a treasure hunt with my good GC friend Walter (while Ingrid enjoyed other pastimes) - thank you for more interesting discussions. Good exercise on the way up with bush bashing until we hit the 'high way' winding up hill. Safely hidden this treasure and luckily no venomous beasts protecting the hide. +/-0. T4TC.
Great hike so tiring with bikes took the longest and hardest way possible on the dirt track but worth it when you get up and find it the house is very creepy traded toys
Love this one, what a shame it didn't get finished. Would have been some place, nice walk, nice cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Picked up Remins coin. Byrdstarr and Bluejackal
What a great hike. Was greeted with just an exceptional view. After a few happy snaps we headed back down.

Seems my geo brother thought my heart needed a workout today and he had always wanted to see the unfinished house on the hill. What a workout it was ! SL TFTC
I took my time going up (17 minutes) and coming down (9 minutes). I didn't want to overstep on the way down and end up tumbling all the way to the trailhead. Yes it is a good workout but only slightly steeper than a number of the other caches in the mountains around Cairns. The good deal with this one is it is only a short walk to GZ. I have done ones where the climb is only slightly less steep but it takes 45 - 60 minutes to get up the mountain. So to all you cachers out there that haven't gone after this one yet: go for it! The view from the top makes the climb very worthwhile. In fact, this one rates a "favourite point" for the view and that great house at the top. I wonder what the story is there as to why it all stopped? A great shame for the owners but a great cache site for the rest of us. TFTC TNLNSL
This one certainly gets your heart pumping. Mine beat even faster after an encounter with a snake. It was only the second decent sized snake I have seen in my eight years here. Pretty sure it was a carpet python, but I almost put my hand on it when I scrambled up the hill.
They views from the top were great with nothing but blue skies.

Cardiac is an understatement, view is worth it in the end.
Great cache, highly recommended and definitely a covered shoe trip for all attempting it due to broken glass.

Holy Dooly, I can't believe I made it up that hill. Firstly our gps took us to the wrong spot and we ended up climbing up someones driveway as it looked like a rough track but discovered somebody's shack up there and no further path with still 200m's to go, oops. Of course I didn't read the description properly and didn't look for a boulder at the entrance. We did happen to meet a very friendly dog that followed us along for the walk and then wanted to jump in the car. After saying goodbye to our new friend we decided to search around the area as the gps had been sending us in weird places all day so we went in the opposite direction. Bingo, you cant' miss that path & boulder once you come across it. Off we went. The rest just leaves me speechless, seriously, I think it will take me a day to get over that hike. Anyway ZimDownUnder thanks for showing us the spot. L-TB, T- GC.
Headed up with the crew to take in the awesome views and see the old house. Going down the road path is ok so long as you take it slow and safe and a path has been put around the side of the gate at the bottom.
TTF!
Well, it was a real struggle bushbashing an extremely steep slope[8)] (T4.5), no defined path for the first bit! Then, coming closer it eased considerably so that I could find the spooky destination walking even on bitumen. Being at the place it turned out to become the perfect place for an extensive CITO event. Unfortunately I had no rubbish bin at hand. Thus I confined myself to finding and logging the treasure. After that I explored the well placed ruins and stopped just in front of a vertical crevice into a deep crater. It almost swallowed me and added me to the rubbish on its ground.

As the cache owner described, the distance from the suggested parking area to the cache is not that far, but the well marked track just continues to wind upwards.
Once at the GZ the 'castle' is the dominant structure, overlooking the coastline north to Palm Cove.
We spent some time appreciating the views and having a look at the castle, before locating the cache and logging our find.
While we left nothing, we did liberate the Signal Trackable 'La Grenouille Parisienne'.
Thanks Zim for this new hide.
While the walk up was interesting, we found the walk down even more exciting.
