We are back in Caloundra on our annual family holiday and this afternoon GeoM and I headed out to find some caches. This year we have a fishing pole so we are keen to find some of the great Wesso fishing caches in the area. We parked at the southern end of the Pelican Forest Track and walked through to Tweddell Drive. I haven't figured out how to ride with the pole yet so I was on foot while GeoM rode his bike along the path. This was our turnaround spot but first there was a cache to find. It was a combined effort here because I saw where it was but GeoM was small enough to retrieve it. I had a lot of trouble getting the plastic bag out but finally found a way to get it out. I signed the log and went to return it when a small bison fell into my lap and I realised that there were 2 logbooks. So I signed the second one as well and put it all back together. Thanks for the clever hide Wesso Family!

After a swim time to take the kids for a spot of caching. The high favourite points made this a target. At GZ 13yo honed straight in on the hide and a fortunately quick grab was made. Deceiving little hide - very clever! TFTC

04-Aug-23
Reasonably quick find. Nice hide. TFTC.

The cry went up ‘Yes!! A HARD one!’ so off we went to tackle this one. We sent the kiddos in first and then the adults added to the fray. After poking a few other things, I looked across and saw something that didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Good idea and execution I think the neighbour across probably saw us, but you can get away with anything if you have some kids doing it too, right?
Thanks for the fun!

Spent a few nights in Caloundra to get in the last swim for the season, spend some time with friends and of course pick up a few more caches in the area.

Had to come here twice as I was time restricted the first time as we were meeting friends. It bugged me that I couldn’t find it so went back and had a quick find. Very clever hide.

Thanks Wesso Family for the cache.

Came by here next after parking not too far away. Took a bit of searching to find this sneaky hide. At first I was scratching my head, but I had an idea and stuck with it, went a bit further and found the cache staring me right in the face! Thanks for bringing me here wesso family!

Took a moment to find. Sneaky sneaky. TFTC!

16-Oct-22
I was already having to travel to the Sunshine Coast for work for the coming week so I decided to head up a day early with my wife and pick up a few caches along the way.

After waking up this morning with a bit of a dicky back for some reason, I was none to please to see where I may have to search for this cache. At least the pain killers I had taken earlier had kicked in and I was amply rewarded with a will concealed cache. TFTC

02-Oct-22
Returned to this area today to pick up the rest of the caches along the path after attacking the snake last night.

All caches found in good Knick and with newish log books for signing.

Cheers

31-Aug-22
By the time I got to this cache, it was almost dark, which wasn’t really a bad thing. Armed with my trusty micro-torch, I went in search of the cache which, surprisingly, didn’t take me too long to find. Sneaky. TFTC

08-Aug-22
Being earlyish on a Monday morning, there was no one about. I found the cache quickly as I’ve seen this type before. A very sneaky container. I needed TOTT to remove the log sheets which were full, so added extra paper and put in a plastic bag which should make it easier to remove. Tftc

01-Aug-22
There’s a couple of reasons for visiting this area today… a friend with a new litter of puppies, and the quantity of tree fishing caches that might or might not help with a yet to be published challenge…

I actually stopped here briefly in late 2020… but couldn’t give the location the attention it deserved…

Today I committed and soon spotted the COs bespoke handy work…

Tftc… Log needs replacing though…

It's a very clever hide. A fav point!

We came up the Sunny to have a look at the changes of the Caloundra bar and Bribie bar, due to the new split into North and South Bribie Island.

We couldn't believe it that it's now so big.

Then we started to look around for some caches.

Today, the plan was to kayak across from Golden Beach to the top of Bribie Island (newly formed North Bribie Island given the recent breakthrough?). I was a little concerned with the high winds warning, but the passage still offered sufficient protection to paddle across for the scheduled island event. Following a walk around the island peninsula and the completion of two Locations from the *Pumicestone Passage Meander* Adventure Lab, we paddled back across just as the sea started to get rough. I then spent the majority of my subsequent day heading around Pelican Waters and Golden Beach, walking a few trails whilst fighting the armies of mosquitoes. I then ended the day with a drive into Caloundra completing *Rocking Caloundra* Adventure Lab and a walk along the foreshore/boardwalk.

I took a walk around along this lake whilst heading to GZ, and enjoyed the scenic views across the canals. Once at GZ, I spent about 10 minutes searching around whilst checking out every particular object and reading through past logs. It was only until I returned back to something, and examined it in further detail, that I found the very well sneaky yet clever cache! Very well done indeed! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. It looked like that a fresh logbook had been placed here, and as a FYI, it probably looks like the tether needs to be reattached (but was ok during my retrieval today). Thanks Wesso Family for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A well deserved Favourite Point from me!

Out today with The Green Geckos and Muggle65. We were caching up on the Sunshine Coast, chasing cache for a challenge cache.
We found 7 caches today 2 mystery, 2 traditional, 2 wherigo and a Earthcache. Plus one DNF

On the list were two tree fishing cache. One was to fill a spot in next D/T loop. Then a wherigo was to fill the last spot in challenge cache for me.

Love the cache a favourite point left

Out and about in the Sunny Coast area collecting caches with chamad before attending the GIFF event.
Heading around the pathway I arrived here. I spent quite some time looking around and eventually noticed something worthy of a closer look. Ta dah. A very well hidden cache.
Thanks Wesso Family for the cache and for bringing me to this lovely place. The birds here were singing so beautifully. An fp from me.

An awesome half day out today with Ponchomon11 - sadly cut short so we could return home for lockdown, but first up a few caches to tide me over a few days. Finishing the day ... half day .... with a little walk - starting here. A nicely hidden cache here. Had us going in circles a bit till logic caught up with my eyesight. That's pretty cool - FP worthy indeed.

Thanks wesso family for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #9639}* Cool

Caching with Mr Pprime (P`) today before the event that we wanted to go to. Pprime had a list of 10 caches that he wanted to find and we found 27 in total.

After Mr Pprime found it, I wondered if we were trolls. I doubt this will be the last time I thought that as it was not the first.

We were not able to get to the event as we wanted to be back home before lockdown.

Today I had the day to myself so I decided to take my bike up here from brisbane and find some smileys . One of the tyres on my bike was getting flat but had enough to get me here. Now I think I need to add something else to my geocaching TOTT . Knee pads. I looked here and there up and down and around before I spotted this cache. Another great hide. Thankyou for all the fun

I have been working on completing my D/T grid and saw that I had multiples of some, a few of others and a couple of spaces with nothing, so I decided to set a goal for myself of completing three loops in a day. This was in conjunction with a couple other challenges I was doing I was still out each day collecting a cache a day for another challenge. Slowly it was all coming together and today was my day to collect 5 particular caches, and a few others on the way. A paddle and a walk will see me complete, just a DNF will upset my plans.

After a drive to the Southside to grab one that completed my first loop, it was now a drive to Caloundra to grab a couple of paddle caches and a letterbox for my monthly challenge.

As I was parked near this cache I had a read of the previous logs and it sounded interesting. The cache was just 137 metres away so I started my walk. Reaching GZ I had a look around and nothing stood out, then looking harder I saw something that didn’t look right or have a reason to be there. I opened it up and sure enough the cache was there, nicely done.

With the log signed and the cache returned as found I was off to continue my list of targets for the day. Thank you for placing this one here.

19-Jul-20
We passed this spot while on the hunt for another cache nearby and had admired how pretty it was at the time. It wasn’t until we left that I realised there was cache here too. Of course there was! And so there should be . So today we were in the area again and swung by to collect. We must be getting clued up on this tricky trickster CO as my senses knew what was required and the DT rating confirmed it. Your hides always bring a smile to our face Wesso! Signed off and replaced, then took in the serenity for a minute.

Finally being able to visit our youngest daughter and her family up here on the Sunny Coast we've spent two days here. We're on our way home now having found no caches at all and thought we couldn't waste the trip geocachingwise. This one appealed to geohubby and so we drove south for it. Yes, it's very creative and fun to find so thanks for that Wesso family. And yes, it deserves a favourite point too. The terrain could have been higher at our age, ha ha!
Thanks for taking us to this area too, it's well set out with decent sized blocks of land and plenty of parks and pretty views.
Cheers and happy caching!

23-Feb-20
The last in a small batch of caches that I found with the geokids after a long stint away from the game. Good to get back in the saddle, and this was my favourite of the day (hence the FP!). When we got to GZ and to the right level, I spied something a few metres away that immediately set the geo-senses tingling. Thought I'd see if the kids came up with the same idea, and I was happy when one of them mentioned as much. Of course, they left it to me to scramble along and do the honours. Great container and all in the excellent shape here. Thanks, wesso family!

Out and about doing a few caches in the area around where we are holidaying at Golden Beach ... it's nice for a change to only have to drive a few minutes from "home"to grab a few caches.

A straightforward find after making my way here from 007's hideaway. Thanks for placing this cache wesso family. I quite liked the hide .... though my 66 year old body thinks otherwise! Big GrinBig Grin

Enjoying the clear blue skies and winter sunshine up the coast today, on an outing around Caloundra tidying up some caches with Roostaman.

After a stroll along the pleasant wetlands boardwalk, we got down to brass tacks. It was Roosta who came up with the goods after we both spent a couple of minutes searching. Cleverly done Smile

I had wandered over Tweedledum and Tweedledee on the way in to the letterbox and decided to have a look for it on the way out although I wasn't hopeful. I don't have a lot of patience for difficult hides in uncomfortable locations unfortunately. But when I got to the bridge and headed down under, I spotted a likely hide straight away. Crawling in, I spotted a telltale sign and had the cache in hand in seconds.

Thanks for the cache wesso family. This was find #3793. Please discover my trackable: MMGJ6B

On the Sunshine Coast with stortigirls. Our target for the day: to find 5 different cache types. After finding a nearby letterbox cache, we headed to this one. We quickly worked out where we needed to be. Lots of maneuvering and checking of spots, but no cache. We swapped spots. More maneuvering, more checking, still no cache. We were close to giving up when I spotted something just a little odd. I maneuvered some more and reached for it. Now that is worth investigating a bit more. I soon had the cache in hand. Very Happy We added our names to the log, returned everything to the way it was found, then we headed back to the geomobile. TFTC

Thursday fun day and my partner in crime today is Mrs Slow Puncture Smile

I love this part of the world, so today we decided to focus on the caches around the area. Looking at cache icons on maps, you never truly know what sort of place you are going to find until you get there and this area was a lovely surprise. It was quite lovely next to the lake and even better still, there were no muggles about. Being short of stature, many types of cache hide can prove difficult, but not this one, LOL! It did take us a little while to find the very sneaky cache, it was Mrs SP who got her hands on the sneaky little devil first. TFTC wesso family, a great one to start our caching day on Big Grin

Thursday. This was our first cache that we thought we would look for in this small area. We parked Mrs Raynersinoz new Geomobile nearby and headed down the path. We got to near GZ and thought that our knees weren’t as young as they used to be, but got down and dirty anyway. We thought we could see where the well hidden cache would be and BINGO! Thar she blows. Nice hide! As I was sort of stuck in the one position here, I passed the cache to Mrs RIO who put our names into the log. Great hidey spot! And a lovely area. I was amazed at how well the boardwalks were kept and how I would love to live in this area. The water was just divine and I wanted to jump in. We even saw some rather large fish swimming! Thank you for bringing us to this beautiful spot. We were both saying that if it wasn’t for geocaching, we would never find such gorgeous spots as this.

This was the 1st of 4 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***Wesso Family***, for showing us this place. Smile

After finding a nearby letterbox I past this cache as I was heading back to my car. Arriving at GZ I thought that I could work out where it would be knowing the CO, I did not think he would be able to place it where it was. A well constructed cache.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

All is good with this cache.

Find #1092

TFTC ***Wesso Family***, A favourite point.

I love the caches with a bit off effort put into the hide. I also enjoy finding myself in strange places, like a strip-a-gram at a funeral.

Approaching GZ I wondered where to start the search but the terrain category put my focus in the right area. I spotted something odd that needed attention and it felt like it had just the right amount of "naughty" that I should play with it.

I crawled in very slowly. I didn't want to bump my head or lose some skin. I think I got stealth confused with sloth. When I had the cache out I then began the intricate process of trying to get the pen out of the geo-bumbag without injury. Success!

Surprisingly, I found myself breathing hard like I'd just had the big O. I was stuck in a crazy contortionist position and had to wriggle back out with delicacy of a neurosurgeon who's had a big night on the turps. All's well that ends well. tftc

Thanks for the cache Wesso Family.
