A nice day to be out and about. Picking up a geocache here and there is a bonus. TFTC
Today we are in the area and surrounding area of Gisborne. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 4 - In and around Gisborne. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. Beautiful morning to visit the beach. My luck was in here. Cache found in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles,
what a beautiful spot to sit and retrieve this cache. Enjoyed the walk along the beach in what we in Scotland would call ascorxher of a day.

Some pretty big surf tumbling in to watch as I signed the log. Nice quick find, thanks for the placement. TFTC

(# 6792) Day 2 of my Gisborne trip. Today was primarily getting the TMGT series from Anauru Bay to Gisborne with others thrown in. A quick find. Thanks for bringing me here.
Had to widen our search a little, but soon found, thanks taybees. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely beach.
Quick find while wandering around Wainui. Pen was not cooperating, so that one ineligible scribble is ours TFTC!
Quick find on an explore around this area. This also marks my 600th find. Yeah! Sat here awhile and enjoyed the view. All good at GZ and TFTC.
Found this in the evening when things were nice and quiet around here. Still too cold for swimming but there are signs of improvement. TFTC
Had to wait for the muggle to move so we could access this cache! It was fun TFTC
Quick find thanks. Visiting from Nelson, It's nice to be able to go geocaching again after the Covid-19 lockdown.
Was a bit of a noodle and originally went one beach access further down. Once my geocaching mate corrected me found it fairly easily, was sorta where I thought it would be. Nice views, great area
Stopped here this afternoon on the way back from finding the two TMGT caches up the coast. Nice view of the surf and a quick easy find. Signed log, TFTC.
We are away for a few days on a TMGT tour journey through to Gisborne and back again. After a smash and grab on our last Whakatane Cache, we have had to be happy with a temporary perspex passenger window for the rest of our trip, so not too keen on leaving the car for any length or out of sight caches. So nice we could park near to this one. Made a quick find, then headed to that nearby dairy for a lovely ice cream. SL. TFTC.
A nice quick find today with Ms_KR.
Christmas holiday road trip to Auckland. Day six, in and around Gisborne.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

On the way back from Uawa to the YHA. Occasional showers made the road steam when the sun returned, like driving thru fog sometimes! Got this before it rained again. Tftc
Kiwiscot is on a Surf Life Saving Training camp staying at Waikanae Beach, Gisborne. The whole crew headed up to Wainui Beach this morning for a board session. Kiwi took the opportunity for a wander along the beach to pick up our daily cache. All good - TFTC
Nice easy drive by soon found and continued on the TMGT mission ..thanks taybee..all good here
Magnificent view. Surfs definitely not up today. All good here. Thanks for bringing us here taybee nz
Spent a few days in the area and found it in the last lights of the day
Driving out to see the beach, we arrived just as it started to rain. That meant no-one was around to see us. Thanks very much taybee/jr taybee
Staying nearby for a couple of days. Grabbed this cache while checking out the beach and the after effects of the storm that's hitting the coast at the moment.TFTC
Found on my trip north enjoying the caches in the area. Enjoying my time in Gisborne
Off on a 5 day mission from Northland to the East Coast with the main target being the last two CANZ caches that I had not yet found. The opportunity to grab some $25 airfares to Napier was just too good to miss, even though it was winter and the days might be short and the weather might be dodgy.
Day one though was a real mission, with early morning fog for the drive to Auckland, untold time navigating the long Akl parking lots, delayed flights before we took off and then again in the air before we could land causing a missed connection for the rental cache mobile pick up. To top it off, the weather was cold and wet, but I still managed four caches in the dark.
Final day today dawned nice with a cloudless sky but still a chilly wind. Heading back from our accommodation in Wainui Beach to Napier to drop off the rental cache mobile, so thought I should at least get this one close to our unit before we left. With the good hint, was a nice quick find. Signed log and replaced safe and secure as found. TFTC

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to go a drive out from Kaiti to Okitu.
No-one was surfing today.
Cheers for the cache.

Out exploring the area on our first full day here. Nice easy find before a walk on the beach. TFTF Greetings from
Day 14 of our tour took us from Gizzy further into the northeast. The beginning of the day was a bit boring because of very few caches along the road. It seems that we are no more used to drive longer than one hour without a cache or a stop for a view point. The first highlight of the day was the Tolaga Bay Wharf with one find and one DNF. The second highlight of the day was the drive to the East Cape and the most eastern caches of NZL and maybe of the world. The last one at the lighthouse was really difficult to find but finally we did it. Unbelievable that people live there in total loneliness. The last cache of the day was a very interesting earthcache at the oldest Pohutakawa tree of NZL. We would have missed this without the cache. Thanks for showing.

#6514. On a short holiday on the east coast with my two girls enjoying the sun, heat and surf. Been staying at Tolaga Bay for a couple of nights and now heading south to Napier today. Had on my cache list one called Wainui Beach. Was surprised to find there were two caches with the same name on this beach. The first one seemed to be missing according to recent logs. So came here instead. This one I overshot the mark but once the GPS settled it lead me back to the more likely looking hiding spot. Cache soon in hand. All good here. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks taybee for the cache.
This had been a planned trip in the company of HKCB to Whangarei but as the weather wasn't the best in the north we thought we would bring this trip forward and head over here to see what we could locate as neither of us had done a whole lot around this area.
Leaving home 7pm Friday evening and returning by midnite Saturday, 954kms travelled and approx. 70 caches located along with about 8 DNF's.
Thanks to all the CO's whom have put out these caches for us and completing the maintenance to keep them going.
The start of a new day and after a few hours sleep it was time to see what we could find with the real challenge being the new virtual as that was a primary goal for the trip. With the light up and no rain the day was looking good for a few caches. Great little area and a quick find for this cache

This weekend had been booked into headed to Whangarei with Cats&Dragons for a bit of caching, but as the weather wasn't looking flash at all, so we decided to head East instead to Gisbourne as we both hadn't done much caching in te area. Leave home about 7pm Friday, and returning home midnight Saturday meant we got a fair bit of caching time in for the limited time we had. All up we found just under 70 caches in total, so a big thanks for all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches we found on this trip.
I was still searching here when C&D found it in the first place I looked.

Found with niece Ninanoo on her visit from Australia. This was her first NZ cache and what an awesome unexpected find inside. A Tiki necklace...which we took as a lovely memento of her first NZ cache. Will find something suitable to leave in its place, before she leaves. We had nothing on us.

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
This one took some time, I worked out where I should be from previous logs, and then a guy just stood there looking at the see! TFTC!!

I love all the beaches in this part of the world, it seems that surfers are spoiled for choice. Thanks for the cache.
I have an alert on my phone to let me know when there are airfares from Wellington to anywhere for under $20. A few months ago I booked a return ticket to Gisborne for today... $19 each way. My plan is to find as many caches as I can and then head home to the Hutt Valley in time for dinner. A great plan if you ask me!
The weather played its part too. It was forecast for cold with a few showers but it turned out fine and reasonably warm. However, it was even better in Wellington today according to the news tonight.
I had a great day. Unfortunately, many of the caches I looked for were in need of maintenance and some were impossible for me to find.
I was not feeling confident about this one because I read the previous logs first. I spent about 10 minutes searching and came up with the cache about 10m away from where the coordinates pointed me.
Once again, I traveled all the way to Gisborne to find a taybee cache. I could have stayed home in Wellington and done that.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Can't believe we found this-had a qwik look on the off chance it may be there & voila!!tftc
A gorgeous beach! Took us ages to find this. We obviously missed it more than once. On a last walk up we spotted it. TFTC
A day driving north up the coast from Gisborne. Found a few caches and enjoyed the scenery. Thanks for the excuse to come this way.
Wild day at the beach today and plenty of chance to get wet without going swimming. Fortunately the cache was a easy find. First for our weekend in gizzy. Tftc
Travelling around the East Cape for the long ANZAC weekend and now reaching the home straight into Gisborne.
A quick stop here and the cache was quickly found.

A little tour around Gisborne took us to Kaiti and Wainui today. Back in town we strolled to the museum at the Tuharenu. Thanks for all the caches on the way.
Nice spot, quick find at a spot not too far from a dear friends home. Thanks!
Luckily there were no muggles around, may be because of the weather, it was raining. The cache was soon found after reading the hint

Didn't find. The description was quite clear but impossible to find the cache...
It was frustrating !
Hopefully, the spot is beautiful !

We found a wee Pizza Hut pencil while we were looking and weren't very hopeful, but then I put my hand on it. Left Minnie Mouse who is taking a photo of the view. TFTC.
