TFTC! Out and about geocaching with Dunmowin today, with a geocache in mind and any others along the way, which happened to be this way. Thanks for bringing me here to this place. Answers have been sent CO.
Found It!A nice little walk here with some interesting geology along the way. Not a bad view either!TFTC
Answers have been sent to the CO.Walked to the Hell Hole and learnt about the volcanic activity in the area. It started to rain but I managed to get all the required information. Thank you Gunnie69 for this Earth Cache.
Decided to head up to Toowoomba today for a walk along the Hell Hole trail. Arriving at midday and had the trail all to myself. Thoroughly enjoyed my leisurely stroll on what turned out to be a nice sunny, but reasonable cool day. Enjoyed broadening my rather limited geological knowledge.Answers sent through to CO. TFTearthC. Fivegk and I arrived at the parking coords, only to be greeted by a policeman, who told us we could not go down the trail today. Apparently, there are old human remains down there. So, off we went!
Attending an event at the entrance to the Hell Hole.Echocache1, Fred7lea and self walked down to this earthcache before continuing on to to the puzzle.Answers to be sent to cache owner. Thanks Gunnie69 for the earthcache
GC4AM9N It's a Hell HoleHeaded out to Toowoomba with hubby for the morning. Being earth cache weekend I suggested we head over here after checking out all the flowers in town. This was a nice earth cache. We then decided to head down to the waterfall. Lovely walk but it was a slow walk back up for me. TFTEC Gunnie69
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka. Of course he’d found this one.
With a couple of hours to spare before heading to the airport, Ben and I were graciously chauffeured around by greencordial to collect a just few more.
Pleasant easy walk to the two waypoints to collect the info. Nice views. Answers sent.
Thanks Gunnie69 for adding to my day.

Thanks Gunnie great cache.
Thanks Gunnie great cache.
As part of the Bugs Devils group we stopped to take in the information and views at the waypoints on our way down to hell. Some really stunning scenery across the valley. Thanks Gunnie69
This cache was done as part of a longer walk. We were lucky and had glorious weather. I had to save my energy for the climbs ahead so made a small contribution to our answers and let Muggle65 do the rest Thank you Gunnie
Day 3,
Event day and walk to the Hell Hole. Now the event is finished we started the walk down grabbing caches along the way. This was the next cache. I do love doing earthcache.

Up in Toowoomba with DisSister and Skydragon for a weekend of caching and events. Today’s focus was on the Hell Hole track, followed by some of the SSE series. We met for an event nearby before heading off en masse for other caches in the area, this being one of those. I’ve been to Table Top and Redwood Park before, and partway along here, too, but I explored the area a lot more fully today, and appreciated the vistas the track presented to us. As you say, this track is less known than the other two - my dad had never heard of it and he lives within 15 minutes’ drive! He plans to explore it now though. TFTC, Gunnie69. =^.^=
A day trip up from the Gold Coast joining a great bunch of geo friends for an adventure into Hell Hole.
Interesting information and well sign posted along the way.

Events have a 'tradition' of being excuses to go places and find caches with a group of people, making caching fun, and this weekend was no different.
We were in a group - "Bugs Devils". Thanks for this EC, Gunnie. Taken long enough to get here!!

Today's mission... Hell Hole! What a beautiful spot with gorgeous views. After coming across a large danger noodle crossing the road nearby, my caution-o-meter was on high. Thankfully no off-roading for this one and answers acquired quickly. TFTC
During our second long weekend stay, we continued to explore areas in Toowoomba where we hadn't been before.
We walked around, gathered the required information and enjoyed the different views.

Today, on our last day in Toowoomba we decided to explore this area. We were very keen to follow the track to the finishing point, however we had limited time and were due to be in Chinchilla before the sunset.
We were very keen to visit this earthcache, as we had a feeling that the views would be spectacular, and we were not disappointed.
Heading out, the views were amazing on both sides, particularly to the left where the sound of running water from a very wet summer was noticeable. In the far distance we could see a waterfall running directly down.
The rock formations were amazing, and these were highlighted by the information we read on the information boards along the way.
We have sent our answers to the CO.
Thanks Gunnie69. A FP here.

Out today gathering caches for a challenge. Lots of older caches, some fabulous views and of course my favourite, a cemetery or two. Brilliant planning by TeamARF had us collect all needed.
Was looking forward to finally visiting this hell hole which I expected to be totally different to the hell hole I spend 9 to 5 at. However my usual 9 to 5 hell hole did have one thing in its favour today, and that's cool air. In the end the warm conditions prevented me from cleaning up all the caches at the hell hole, so a future trip will need to be organised.
Look forward to taking the walking track to the end and getting a closer look at the hell hole and its geology, on a cooler day. Thanks Gunnie69 for putting this EC together. Signing with the CO's permission.

We have been enjoying our jaunts around Toowomba, and with a name like this, we had to visit this Earthcache. We were delighted to see that the geodogs Gypsy Girl, Teeny Treek and Mini Michi were allowed on this walk as so often, when we visit areas like this, dogs are not welcome. As you can see from the photos, it was late afternoon, so the sting had gone from the sun, and we had a fantastic walk to just beyond the second WP. We did need to go beyond the stated coordinates to see over the foliage to make our observations easily. We love learning and find that Earthcaches are an excellent opportunity to do this. Thank you, Gunnie69, for the time and effort you have put into creating and maintaining this Earthcache.
I generally don't look at EC's... but as I was stepping over WP1 on the way elsewhere it seemed prudent to at least have a look...
I'm glad I did... Very informative and interesting location and even though WP2 made me queasy (I don't do heights very well at all) I still managed to hopefully gather enough information to satisfy the CO...

It doesn’t matter where you seem to go in Toowoomba there is always a hill or mountain out to spoil your fun. Clearly when our alien masters were terraforming this part of the planet they were still shaking after a big night on the shandies.
There are still plenty of good spots to see some views and even learn about rocks if that sort of thing tickles your fancy around town. At the second waypoint I had to see how deep the descent was so I threw a rock into the abyss. I waited for the sound of it crashing into the bottom but everything remained silent. That was two days ago and I think it is still falling. Answers have been emailed. tftc

Answers sent for MrGravel and I. It’s creeping up to years end and time to gather our summit souvenirs. Luckily we have a number of earth caches left to do in our surrounding areas. In our opinion this is the best vantage point in all of Toowoomba for peaceful and less touristy views. Thanks for bringing us here

I visited this area, wandered down to the waypoints, collected the information and looked out at the hell hole and the surrounding areas. A very interesting place to visit thank you. Found my answers to the questions and then set off to continue my caching for the day along with some other plans.

I visited this earthcache as I meandered my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
Yesterday I was joined by Davidwazza and we completed the SSE geoart series and a few other caches around Toowoomba afterwards and into the night. Today I was on my own again, so decided to do a few more around the town as well as a bit of a walk.
I walked towards the Hell Hole as far as this cache, but didn’t go down to the bottom.

We hadn't seen the Hell Hole before. It's a bonus it's accessible to view with a casual walk but now we've seen it it makes us want to explore further. An easy to understand and informative earthcache, thanks Gunnie69.

Found both waypoints and learnt a lot with my little ones. We had never been up there, so it was a pleasure to see. Thanks for bringing us here.
Needing a cache fix and cheer up, and unsure of where to head today, I picked this place on the map. I did an easy regular not too far away. Then moved my car around to here. I started ticking off way points n clues for the multi here, know I will have to return for that one.
This earth cache certainly brings a WOW factor to it, and for that I give you a fp.
Here is an interesting photo.
Cat: Look at my butt hole. Well it's hole related. (Funny ha ha).

NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, and I were in Toowoomba for the weekend. Day two of our adventures was to begin here at the Hell Hole.
Grabbing our first bit of information, and our photo, we set off for the second WP. Oh THAT’s the Hell Hole. We discussed our answers and then realised about 10 metres over was a clearer view. We then decided to proceed on for the multi.... or at least part of it. I’ll be back another day to complete this one as I’d love to see the views further down.
Thanks for the earthcache Gunnie69.

Day 2 of our weekend away, more ups and downs planned with 1Minniemoo and Nyssaflutterby.
A walk before breakfast to warm us up.
We wandered down to the waypoint and looked out at the hell hole and then found another view further down. Discussed the answers to the questions then set off on some of the nearby multi waypoints but decided we might not have time (or energy!) to complete it today along with our other plans.

This was a lovely, peaceful area and one that we would not have found had it not been for geocaching. I know so much more about the geology of Toowoomba since spending two weeks here. TFTEC and a favourite for bringing us here.

Monday. Mr and Mrs SP were in Toowoomba and having a good time finding some great caches. We wanted to grab this one as it looked quite different to the usual sort of earthcache. Answers were formulated at GZ and sent to CO for consideration. Loved this area and very nice spot for an earthcache indeed.
This was the 3rd of 8 caches found on today's trip.

Out caching today with SeffnJarah, Swellerfunguis, Goldielover, Stairman1 and JeznDez and of course, Raffy the most obedient happy go lucky geo-retriever. The plan for the day was to head west to avoid the cyclonic weather (apparently?) on the coast and collect Brother Colins multi, which involved a trip down the Hell Hole, then grab all other local caches and puzzles along the escarpment and track, including this EarthCache. Despite the forecast, there was no rain and it was quite hot. Some very interesting geology on display here. Answers have been sent to the CO. Many thanks Gunnie69 Pete #4,812

With it being international earthcache day today we thought we’d come to the closest one to home. The weather has not very favourable for earth caching or caching in general really but with a bit if a break in the precipitation we headed out. Put the geomutt in the geomobile and off we went. Upon arrival we had about 100m vis due the fog or the clouds that were on the ground and it wasn’t raining so the fog didn’t stop us. The geokids had a ball running through the fog as we made it to wp1 and got our answers, off to wp2. This track can be a little slippery after the rain but no-one fell over so thats a bonus. With the clouds on either side we’d actually walked past the spot where we were supposed to be so we turned around, found wp2 and looked out across the way and saw nothing but fog. These answers will be easy, ‘we saw nothing but white’ We took some snaps and by some miracle from the heavens the fog cleared long enough for us to get a reasonable look at the rocks across the way. Geokid 8 at this point in time had grown a couple of inches with the muddy clay that he had on his shoes ‘oh its so hard to walk with all this mud, my feet are so heavy’ so back up we go with no injuries or falls. I’m sure this place is a little more spectacular in the better weather. It is on the to do list. Answers to questions have been sent to CO. TFTC

I had to pass through Toowoomba to get to the Rural Safari event in Crows Nest so thought I would see how I went doing a few caches on the outskirts of town. Not having had a licence when I lived up here, this was a place I had never been. The afternoon was advancing toward evening so I did have trouble seeing some of the finer detail here and my photos were not much better either. I wouldn't have changed the order I did them though, as had this seemed to be the safest out of the three I did on the edge of the plateau. This is nice thinks I as I wandered over the wide paddock to waypoint one. Gathered the info from there and went out to waypoint two. When I got there I was glad it wasn't a night cache instead of an earthcache! Peered at the other side of the gully and chewed over the questions, took a couple of photos and made my way back to the car. Didn't have time to follow the rest of the track out but I reckon it would probably be a great place to see the sunrise. TFTC Gunnie

Found 17 November 2017 at 1:24 pm. Following a big trip from down Canberra direction up to Toowoomba and then Brisbane, we returned to Toowoomba with intentions to find caches in the nearby SSE series; but first was to grab the Earth Caches and a Wherigo cache in town. Such magnificent over the edge of the Great Dividing Range down into the Valley, it leaves one amazed at the diversity. Lucky the path along here is wide, hair-raising if it wasn't. Thanks for an interesting Earth Cache and bringing me here.

This is a most interesting area to visit because of both the scenery and the geology. We collected information for this earthcache as we looked for some other caches in the area. Answers to the questions have been sent to the CO. Thanks Gunnie69 for this enjoyable and informative earthcache.
It was all of seven months after I went for a walk down this part of the world for another, older geocache when this one popped up in 2013. Back in the days of earthcaches being a relatively rare beastie to catch. Of course, I wanted to get to it, but being over 100 kilometres from home and a place I rarely go, it has had to wait. This weekend though I've got a trip to Toowoomba, which was beautiful as always, and decided I'd be getting this earthcache. I even left home early to make sure I could! As it turns out, this is the oldest, unfound earthcache within 250 kilometres of home for me. Don't be surprised if I lose interest in finding the never ending stream of new ones that seem to be listed for any old rock. I parked at a familiar spot and exclaimed to myself 'Yes, sounds like a lovely place for a walk' before setting off. We've had substantial rain, making everything quite green. More rain forecast but today is perfect. Light breeze, crisp and cool, sunny with bright blue sky! Even though I was navigating with my phone which doesn't know how to navigate, I located the first waypoint, had a read and snapped a photo. Then for the walk down to the vantage point. Distinct memories came back to me about looking at this escarpment before. This time, I looked closer - and took some photos with grainy zoom. Having done that I skipped down to see the geocache I'd found here first visit. And so, with all that done, time to get back to the car and off to the conference I'm needed at. Thanks for this earthcache, Gunnie69

I had a wonderful walk today into the Hell Hole, and learnt a bit too! I learnt that 3 Litres of water is only just enough for me if I walk 4 or more hours, haha. Seriously though, I'm so glad you brought me to this spot, Gunnie69 as it was great to learn more about the volcanic history of Toowoomba. Answers have been emailed. Thanks for the cache!

We have been along this area many years ago and it was fantastic to have another reason to head back here. Today we choose not to head to the bottom, not fit enough, when the rain comes we will head back down. On our previous visit it had been raining and we were able to gather a few mushrooms along the way, no such luck today. Toowoomba people are fortunate to have these areas in their back yards to explore. TFTC

The last time I was in Toowoomba I was here with a limited time, and a specific target in mind. So had to miss most of the Earthcaches, however today with much more time we made sure to make our way over and check this one out. We stopped at WP1 and read up on the information provided. Before heading on down to take a look at WP2, I was a little unsure on which side to look for the Hell Hole, but managed to answer the questions correctly so must have got it right, although there was actually nothing to work with the other way anyway. A great spot here and some great views, I do really enjoy stopping for an Earthcache whenever the opportunity arises. TFTC
In Toowoomba for a couple of days Geocaching with OrionJ. Walked around to WP1 and jotted down the answers then on to WP2 for the rest. Submitted to CO and received a tick of approval. TFTC and thanks for bringing us to this area Gunnie69.
