Sadly we couldn't find the final container for this excellent Multi. I'm not even sure it's still there but I will add this to my watchlist and if anyone finds it I shall return! A small camo systema can't be that hard to find...can it?Also, there is no plaque or other information at waypoint 1 anymore. I think one of the shops have screwed their sign over the top of it!!. HOWEVER, we still found the necessary information on the internet and were able to work out the values for F & G and were able to confirm our final coords with the checksums.

15-Oct-23
Found while out with ABCDF4 for the day,, TFTC.

15-Oct-23
Found with EyeSpyBen whilst over in the bay for the day. TFTC. Had this one solved for a while.

17-Jul-23
looked everywhere but still didn't find it

15-Jul-23
We were filling in some time and managed to solve this after rechecking some work.

11-Jun-23
I needed a multi today for a Challenge cache that will be placed in Christchurch in the very near future.

At Waypoint 1 I couldn't find any information that would give either F or G. The CO needs to check this one out and remedy.

I found all the other information necessary. From the numbers I got it was simple to work out the missing F and G values. But it is a little disheartening when one can not find the info at the first waypoint.

I managed to get my hand in to retrieve the cache.

Cheers for the cache, tparty.

28-May-22
Started looking on the wrong side. No sign of a cache so found a place to get through & spotted the cache. Easier in the daylight. Tftc

28-May-22
Solved this multi last year with kimbathelion, had an initial look then, but was getting dark, so mission aborted. Back today, started looking on wrong side initially, once on correct side, kimbathelion soon had cache in hand. TFTC

22-Nov-21
Solved this with buzzybb. Hopefully correct but it was getting dark so didn't find the cache. Will check answers & come back another time.

Visiting Te Puke to pick up our camper van that’s been unwell for 2 months. Enjoyed collecting the information for this cache. Did the sum checks and headed to GZ. Didn’t take long to find the cache but was confused when I noticed the last signature was 2018. Knew the cache had been”found” recently so read the last activity and realised that someone had left a replacement cache. The original cache is in good condition and just hanging around. I would suggest if anyone finds the replacement they remove it. Loved the nearby 8 country art display. Well worth a stop. A favourite from us.

08-Sep-20
Have had this solved for ages. was in Tepuke today and wondered over to GZ. searched and searched as I see this hasnt been found for ages. PAF and so with advise have replaced cache container at GZ as really is a goodie and great to learn the history of Te Puke. If CO not happy please maintain and remove my cache of which Ive left for all to enjoy. thx

15-Jul-18
Out on a nocturnal mission with 11hpg11, cats&dragons & HKCB to grab some caches towards the “hidden creatures’ challenge ... unlike our northern hemisphere counterparts, we’re contending with winter and long dark nights but, heh, that just adds to the challenge! We started early evening in fairly heavy rain, wondering about our sanity, but thankfully the weather improved and we had a lot of fun dashing about the BOP on a star-light night.

Combined this one with collecting the more recent placements in Te Puke. There were some intoxicated muggles hanging around and I definitely would've left looking for the final if I had been on my own .... signed the log while having an entertaining conversation about what constitutes 'too-dodgy-to-search' for each of us if caching alone .... cache all good, nice hide, TFTC

18-Apr-18
Thank you tryfyn for reinstating this cache. Went looking for it before but didn’t find it because it wasn’t there. This cache did lead me on a wander around the town and I did learn a few facts about the town.

08-Apr-18
Had solved this way back and only had a cursory look...and on seeing all the dnfs never pursued it any further...until I saw that some responsible person had made an effort....not that I agree with the ethic ...but in principle in this case I believe its the correct solution ...I am not to sure who to thank for this one as the CO seems no longer interested ....I guess its a big thanks to Tryfn for the well constructed and placed container with a log ..well done

08-Apr-18
At last! We collected the information a year or so ago and were arrived at gz and discovered it hadn't been found in a while. At this pre use time two new caches were published close by so we abandoned the search and went for the FTFs. No further attempt was made to look for this as it was pretty evident tge cache had gone. Today we happened to be in Te Puke and I revisited the logs. Tryfyn thankfully has replaced the cache container. I didn't have the numbers with me so we had to collate the data again. Then a quick and painless find. Thanks for the multi t-party and thanks Tryfyn for replacing the cache.

17-Mar-18
I was passing through Te Puke after getting the cache on Te Matai Road and decided to have a go at this one. The multi was completed without a problem and was a pleasant walk highlighting both Te Puke's history and very nice areas of the town that I didn't know existed. Arriving at GZ, a quick search revealed the remains of the fixing used but, as I expected, the cache is long gone. In light of the logs over the last 15 months, it seems this cache is unloved and unmaintained. This seems a pity and, as I had suitable container, I decided to replace it. If the CO has any issues, please feel free to conact me and I'll be glad to remove my container and sign the CO's replacement. In the meantime, thanks for an enjoyable multi. TFTC.

10-Jan-18
Could owner please check that this cache is still here, a request to check was noted April last yeas and don’t want to waste time if not there

19-Apr-17
Can CO please check on this...still needing to complete my smiley. Thanks

14-Jan-17
Cache has defiently gone walk abouts as I even jumped the fence around the corner to look for it after i had no luck on the other side which sucks cause I'm pretty certain I'm in the right place and this will be my first DNF out of almost fifty caches :-/

11-Jan-17
First time round mucked my numbers up...2nd time round and all adds up...even the comments...been looking up and down for ages but can't find. Giving up...for now - but I will persevere!! 3rd time lucky maybe?

12-Nov-16
Nice walk

06-Nov-16
Nice multicache for a Sunday afternoon. We learnt some interesting things while walking around the town. It is hard not to be seen while looking for the final cache because the children playing ground is just across the lawn. The box itself is smaller than expected and there is nothing more than the logbook, so we couldn't sign in. Bring your own pencile!

22-Aug-16
This was a nice wee multi taking us for a wander about town. Mucked up one nr so initially searched the wrong area before quickly spotting my error. Very sneaky hide! Geo-junior made the retrieval, he's been a great help today, and seems to be more enthusiastic about caching after today's mission. Tftc

06-Apr-16
I found and logged it with my sister,CeeVee on 6 April, but as she had done the donkey work I felt I needed to do the leg work as well before logging here, 05/05/16. I'm happy now.

06-Apr-16
Came up from Hawkes Bay to visit family, as they were working I did a bit of cacheing.
It's my first multi, pleased I did it in my home town, took me places that I haven't seen in a long time. Well put together. Cheers.

26-Mar-16
Had some time to kill while waiting for a squash game and with some keen new players with me we decided to see what geocaches Te Puke had to offer. The clues were gathered easily enough with the exception of waypoint 2, until we read the information properly and worked it out. Cache took a few minutes to spot was but was soon found by KathyKaches, she's getting good at this! Thanks for the cache

26-Mar-16
My first multi - Was great fun gathering the clues for the co-ordinates and managed to locate the cache after a few minutes of searching. Thanks for the cache tutelage Jesso22.

19-Mar-16
Hitting the trails with the 1HIK crew (11hpg11, HKCB, iammrwalker and myself) on a mission to help them clear Tauranga caches.

Initially we turned around in the wrong place and undershot the location of this cache... back down to the roundabout and turned around in the correct place, with our "hood ornament" falling off. A great, well thought out multi that stood out today.

19-Mar-16
Yet another mission/meander/drive/caching blitz/story telling to Tauranga/Papamoa with some of the Hamilton crew. An early start was on the cards so that we could make it back in time so a couple of the members could make it back in time for the Night Glow Event held at the Waikato Uni. So at 4.30am 11hpg11, Kyb3r, iammrwalker and myself plied into HPG's new caching vechicle and headed out for the day. As usual a fantastic day out and a bonus for the day was that the weather was on our side, even though it didn't look like it. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements, we signed the logbooks with 1HIK (our caching names put together) to save some room on the logbooks.

I do enjoy multis especially if they are well put together, like this one was. A bit of a hiccup at the start as our driver mis-heard the directions and turned a bit early so hand to U-turn to get back to the start of the multi. Enjoyed the brief history lesson while collecting the required info, and the final didn't take to long to get our hands on.

19-Mar-16
Another trip to Tauranga/Papamoa area with a group of Hamilton cachers. Today we planned to clean out a bit more of the area, just one more we keep saying, but new caches keep coming out all the time. Today our team consisted of HKCB, Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and myself. The logs were either signed with our names or HIK1/1HIK to save room. Today I was designated driver and that came along with a new set of challenges but we survived and didn't make too many wrong turns so all is good. A nice early start, left Hamilton at 4.30am so we could be over in time for a night cache plus plenty of other caches before a few of us had to be home for the Hot Air Balloon Night Glow event.

Another fearer of multis, that is slowly fading away. Maybe it helps to do it with other people? Maybe that was were I went wrong all those times. This multi was a nice one as well. All info was found easily and all fairly close together which helped. Thanks for showing us these spots around Te Puke

13-Mar-16
I found this Geocache along with HKCB, 11hpg11 and Kyb3r, a bunch of overachieving Geocachers from Hamilton. We signed the logs 1HIK to save on log space. This was our fourth sojourn or ‘mission’ as we like to refer to these trips, to the Tauranga area and even though we had limited time due to family commitments in the evening we still managed to find more than fifty caches and be home before dinner. This was due mainly to leaving at 4:30 in the morning. Credit needs to go to HKCB who came up with the plan and 11hpg11 for driving. As always we had a great time. A big thanks to all the cache owners who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found today.

I use to fear multi's but I have come to really enjoy them. HKCB and I did the maths but it was Kyb3r who made the find due in part to his physical characteristics. I liked how this Geocache highlighted some significant historical information which is gathered nice and close in terms of proximity. Thanks for the history lesson and the cache.

06-Mar-16
Great treasure hunt took a while only our 2nd multi cache but really enjoyed. Tftc

24-Dec-15
Tftc my first multi and done with a friend new to geocaching! Was dark by the time we found it but cool fun... stuffed up our coordinates first time as didnt read questions properly for wp2!! Finally cache in hand!

23-Dec-15
Wow...females can never follow instructions properly. Hour later cache in hand. Shouldve done this one on my own. Nice cache at the end.

11-Oct-15
On Knobelboy's birthday we finished this cache, which is our first New Zealand Multi-Cache! SmileSmile. After our search for the clues on the previous night, we did the final calculation in the campervan and it was duely Knobelboy who spotted it on his birthday.
The biggest surprise was the olive tree being a gift from a Cretan village. That's a relation we would have read a bit more about.

The Cache-Knobis from Muenster in Germany say TFTC (#3163 @ 11:15).

22-Aug-15
A good little walk around Te Puke. You forget how much history there is everywhere - thanks for the reminder Smile

11-Jul-15
Out and about enjoying the sunshine while finding a few specific caches towards a challenge we are working on. Interesting facts and figures gained while gathering the required numbers TFTC.

21-Jun-15
An enjoyable learning a bit more about Te Puke. Been aiming to do this for some time. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult, and some extra sets of eyes soon spotted the final cache. Great multi - thanks.

31-May-15
#378 - Always driving past this & all the other Te Puke caches, so today is the day to try to get them all.
This looked liked a multi i could do, + i had some time up my sleeve. All the answers were relatively easy to find, i didn't even have to double check anything, got it 1st time. Yay me maybe i should give more Multi's a try. Was good learning about the History, especially the Archway - never knew that story.
I dropped the pen in my walk to the final somewhere! how did that happen, so i took a photo of the logbook. (next time i drive through ill pop in and sign it) TFTC

24-Mar-15
Always enjoy a good multi and decided to complete this one at a leisurely pace given I had the time and was in no hurry to get to my hotel. TFTC, #7678

31-Dec-14
Tftc. Enjoyed doing this one. Wasn't too sure about getting the details for the third waypoint, but worked back from the checksum and managed to get the final coordinates ok

16-Nov-14
Alright - hopefully we don't run out of time! All WP loaded - lets get started. 1 was nice and easy. 2 had me a little suspicious of hyphenated names but in the end I should have read the details better. 3 & 4 almost required braille to read but never the less the cache was as good as found. Spotted the nail but not the string - further investigation lead us to an under 30min victory - perfect. Thank you tparty for this one, we did really enjoy it Smile Only the 176 East Challenge and Don't Collect 200 puzzles to finish off Te Puke but I feel those victories maybe some time away Smile

02-Jun-14
It's always good for our family when playgrounds and geocaching combine - something for everyone! We thought we had it all solved but our check-sum didn't add up. Soon realised that we made a mistake on WP2 - we used both lists instead of one. Managed to correct it without having to return and after a long play at the cool playground we made our way over to GZ. We didn't have the clue with us so had to get the kids to spread out and look over and under, up and down and eventually one of them spotted it. Nice hide and TFTC. #252

13-Jan-14
Couldn't figure out what 'G' was and after much persistence we found it! The little cylinder is so cute!

13-Jan-14
Great little nano. Thanks for the adventure around our little town TFTC TParty

13-Jan-14
With kadasaur and jenseeker. Persistence paid off in the end. Just couldn't get the number for G, so guessed it based on needing a total of 21. Is there a way to type coordinates into this ap or another so we know where to go? We used google which gave us a google map but there's no option to navigate. Loved the little cache and how it was concealed. Awesome TFTC

04-Jan-14
When the Good Dragon Lady suggested that we head over to Tauranga early (meeting friends for lunch) well I could hardly protest when she suggested a spot of caching before we met them.

Mrs Dragon having completed the shopping we decided to work our way through this one. As we went to the final waypoint we got involved with a Domestic incident (between locals not us) and had to call the police and await them. The Dropkick Male (well known to the local police) was soon bundled into the police car and taken away (we just had to answer a few questions).

Following the excitement the final was a quick find and we were so pleased to collect this multi.

TFTC

04-Jan-14
Thought we'd get one more cache in before finding some lunch. This multi looked good so we set about completing the tasks. Made a slight bungle with WP2 as i misread the instructions and used both plaques. Fortunately i took photos of both so once we realised my mistake we were easily able to rectify and the checksum added up correctly.
Headed over to the final which checked out nicely but we just couldn't seem to locate the cache. I had not updated my PQ since Christmas so didnt have the updated hint. Found the cache in the end though as i noticed something not quite right, just as we were about to give up in frustration. Cache is now very well concealed! Enjoyed the multi and the history lesson. TFTC! Big GrinBig Grin

02-Jan-14
Have replaced the cache with something a little more cunning that may confuse the Te Puke muggles for a little while. The container is now a camouflaged micro (not a "small" as it was) and is a little more difficult to locate. Have changed the rating to 2.5/1.5 (was 2/1.5). New hint will help.

01-Jan-14
Yep, the cache has gone missing. Will need to be a little more cunning. Will likely replace with something a little smaller which could slightly alter the difficulty rating. Hope this doesn't cause any concern for those who have found and logged this in the past.

29-Dec-13
Enjoyed learning the history at all the waypoints. The coordinates passed the check sums, and the calculated GZ looked very probable and fitting. No muggles were about so we had a good search around. Didn't find the cache though.

Update 2014-01-03: We were informed by the CO that we were in the right spot. Permission granted to log the find. Thanks for the cache and tour.

8.55am - Good multi with a good bit of Te Puke history. SLTFTC

16-Jul-13
Interspersed by Mrs S needing a carbo fix, made it to the final.

Nicely laid out. Learned to check where the next waypoint was, before buckling up.

Thanks tparty.

13-Jul-13
What a well laid out Multi! Arrived at final's GZ, just in time to see the mega-muggles depart. Perfect timing Big Grin. Took TB "I Love NZ".

11880… An enjoyable multi, there’s certainly some interesting plaques, thanks for showing us around Te Puke.

.........And we remember Te Puke.......

Hopefully people remember Te Puke once the by pass takes the traffic away from this pleasant town, good to see a few caches here again. (although by 6.30am there was once again none left to find for us........ hint hint......)

Nice multi that was easily completed in the wee small hours.

12-Jun-13
Enjoyed this multi and learning more about Te Puke.
The Olive Tree is a special living memorial.

The only problems we encountered were of our own making --- Memo to self: Must read the instructions properly and carefully.

All in all a great cache, thank you, tparty Red FaceSmile

01-Jun-13
Learnt something new about Te Puke TFTC

01-Jun-13
Brought the rug rats back to help with this one as my last visit had too many in the park and I had to leave it. Nice quick find this time and then off to the park for a little play. Enjoyed the multi but had to also have a couple of goes as when I downloaded it to my GPS - the questions in the boxes didnt come out so had to check at home and print it off. Loved the Olive tree and the other neat tree near it. TFTC

29-May-13
Added further information to web page for Waypoint 2 to avoid confusion in calculating D. Thanks to Murray'n'Janet for their help in identifying the problem.

26-May-13
This was a very pleasant way to spend an hour looking around Te Puke. We messed up one of the co ordinates and ended up re-checking, only to end up near where we were a few steps beforehand. Very tricky!

The monument lettering was too faded to make any sense so just guessed that answer, which wasn't hard as there was really only number it could have been Smile

Mum found this one, well done Sally!! Saw the TB in the cache, signed the log. Many thanks for the pleasant afternoon in Te Puke.

25-May-13
Heading to the Mount for Nick's Picnic... so caching along the way. Trying to reign in some recent cache placements.

Began to work this multi soon after lunchtime. At Waypoint 1, I was pleased to find that the abstract 'kayaks' were actually seed pods. Waypoint 2 could have been tricky, but one must read the instruction carefully. Waypoints 3 and 4 were quick finds too, though the text is fading. Got the final coords and eventually found the cache. Yes, care is needed on extraction. I took my time, so all was good. TFTC.

Not far from the olive tree, I spotted an odd-trunked tree. What is it? Does anyone know? It wasn't identified.

24-May-13
Well congrats Kennyclan, you well deserved FTF, even though you only beat us by 25 mins hehe. We drove around these very pleasant waypoints, learning new stuff as well as seeing new sights. What a beautiful playground and park area near final waypoint!
We still dispute one of the numbers, which is probably the one that puzzled kennyclan at his first attempt. However, common sense prevailed. Thank you very much, tparty, for this historic tour and cache.

24-May-13
Was sitting mulling over this puzzle this morning & realized where i had gone wrong so packed my better half into the car to help consolidate my thoughts & yes it all fell into place.Pays to read things carefully. Thanks tparty,a well concieved puzzle & another FTF.Cheers.
