Out and about and this location was one I'd never visited. KTB and i were having a good hunt for this one without luck so went over the road to at least check out the historic venue. What a great old pub, and friendly locals. So friendly in fact that as we sat enjoying a frothy someone asked if I was looking for the thing over the road.
"Well yes as it happens we were looking for something"..... a bit of a hot tip was provided based on prior covert surveillance and subsequently we decided another poke about was in order once the glasses emptied.
Back again at GZ and before long we had the wee bugger in hand.
Well we got there in the end, and I am glad we managed a find here making a visit to the pub all the more memorable. Cheers transport for hiding one here.

Feel so sorry for the people that had been affected by the bushfires especially the ones who have lost everything. Thanks for this one
We arrived in Rappville having driven up from Grafton through some areas that had been affected by the bushfires. This little town had lost some homes and buildings in an unusual pattern. Burnt homes next to ones that survived. The pub is still there and it was wonderful to see it unharmed. In many of these lovely little country towns the pub is the heart of the community. They had live music on New Years Eve so I hope it was well attended and that they kicked up their heels and celebrated all that survived.
We hunted and hunted for the geocache in an unburned location but couldn't come up with it. It is mentioned as being pretty clever so we could have missed it. In the interim and to hopefully be helpful to the CO we have placed a magnetic cache here in a similar hide to some of his others. If the real cache is still there and we didn't find it, or if replacing it isn't acceptable to the CO we shall delete our log. Many thanks Trainsport for bringing us on this drive.
Cheers and happy caching!

Suspect this cache is burnt after Rappville suffered major fires last week, our thoughts are with the town residents.
Great little container. Thought we might have to leave off signing 'cause we couldn't open it. Another great find. Thanks for hiding this cache for our enjoyment Trainsport
Was out caching in the area and stopped by here on the way home.
Before moving to the Northern Rivers, I was seriously looking at moving to Rappville. I still would if I could afford it - it's a beautiful spot.

Quickly grabbed this cache while I was in town today. I remember grabbing a 6 pack from the Commercial with mates about twenty years ago, then walking down the creek on a hot December day and swimming and drinking. Spent hours down the creek. Those were the days. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

In the area, nice country drive today.
This one wasn’t where I first thought, but soon felt the little guy.
Cheers

We came across your cache, Trainsport, after our geocaching holiday in Canberra. Today we are on the way home and stopped by to find your cache
What a great old hotel. Worthy of a cache indeed. I wonder how it will look inside after all the renovations.
Not sure if what we found was your original cache. It had but one finder and now it has two.
Log signed and replaced at 3:50 pm on 15 March 2018. TFTC.

Today with our little caravan in town we left Brooms Head and decided to take the road less travelled to Casino. It was great to find this cache we enjoyed seeing the rural countryside and the different stops. Thankyou Trainsport for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
This cache was not to be found anywhere that we looked and as the other caches that we looked, for which hadbeen placed by this CO were all quickly found, we believe this one might be missing. It has not been found in a long time. Could the CO please do a check on this one.
Too many muggles at pub watching our every move. We have to try another time. Thanks anyway.
Unable to have a good look due to muggles watching our every move. Best to leave it untouched and safe we felt.
Couple of guys were working on the hotel, they must be doing some renos but they took no notice of us, so we made a quick find, sign the log and on to the next. TFTC
Out for a caching day with Diamonjs. Muggles across the road didn't seem to notice us - we think??? Cache found quickly. TFTC.
I have a BIG milestone coming up and am needing to get the numbers just right for the correct week-end.
So a big day out caching is needed. I basically have gone from Maclean to Grafton to Casino to Lismore today for about 50 caches.
I found the first cache just before 6am and made the last find for the day just before 5pm.
After a late breakfast in Grafton it is time to head north.
Heading to Casino I made several detours off of the main road for caches.
This short series was the big longest detour over the bumpiest roads of the day.
But I got there in the end. A quick find here.
Thanks for all of the caches today.

Sure is a quirky little place [:o]
And to the sounds of Kylie reverberating around the landscape,

I just can't get you out of my head
Boy your cache is all I think about !!

Help !! [:o]
I wandered around trying to not break out into dance, and avoid strange stares from across the road.
But all was OK !!
The pub crowd were too busy setting up for what looks like a big night involving a pig on a spit tonight

What a quirky little town. Don't know what you'd find at the place called The Village Idiot but it had to be interesting. Really enjoyed our visit to Rappville. Any day soon would be a good time to start maintenance on the lovely old pub though. TFTC Trainsport.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

This was the last of the logical travel arrangements for caching today. Got to the right location and found the cache. Good tick that.... Then took some piccies of the pub. Another tick. Put in next cache and head off following the GPS... It turned out to have NO idea of where we wanted to go OR at least not the most direct route.
An old siding no platform in sight. I'm enjoying my day looking at out of the way places. TFTC
Visited this quaint little village to post a few letters, and was delighted to see I had a little hunt to attend to. So attend to it I did, with GeoK9 in tow and together we sought the treasure, found it's sneaky hiding place, signed the log and performed the Dance of Joy on unbelievably green, spongy grass watched over by giant bookleaf pines. What an unusual location this is. TFTC, Trainsport
Quick find while Straddie assured me that they were all watching from the public bar. LOL
Out with Trainsport for a shot of routine maintenance and this seemed to be a bit of an "anty-cache". Cleaned and dried cache, replaced log and returned to home. Hopefully this will be an end to the colony and return to happy caching.

Lol! I didn't have internet signal at this location, so no GC site for me. I already had the coords plugged into the GPS so no problem on that front. But with no GC access, the ants! Ants Ants! ANTS ANTS ANTS! came as a major surprise
It's obvious from prior logs (that I naturally couldn't read without internet) that ants love this cache. But seriously, it was over-run by them, they were storing eggs in there. On the upside, they didn't seem to be bitey ants, or this wouldn't be comedy, it'd be low-budget geocaching horror... I've also now discovered the fine art of extracting, signing and returning a log without being overrun by an ant colony.
I took a cache photo, quite hard to do with an iPad, in the dark, when you don't want to actually *touch* the cache and bring it closer to the car light. Hopefully, you can see the ants and the eggs.
I had nothing better on me than Aerogard, so I spritzed the cache with that, which felt kind of cruel, like shooting fish in a barrel :-/
Thanks for the ANTS-venture Trainsport

Parked our trusty Little camper in front of the cache so the locals at the Pub did not see us grab this one TFTC Trainsport
Arrived in town today & have set up in the caravan park. Between V8 races we headed out along some country roads & past railway lines looking for some caches.
This was a nice quick find along the way.
A few cars at the pub, but it was very quiet
Thanks for taking us on a tiki tour Trainsport

Had been meaning to find this cache for quite a while but haven't had the reason to venture out this way.
Today on our way back from Grafton with the highway closed we had no excuse.
A quick deviation off the Summerland way soon had us at GZ in downtown Rappville. A quick find soon had us on our way home.
A Enjoyable cache. Many thanks. TFTC!

The learner driver was needing some where to drive for practice so out to Rapville we went, nice easy find.TFTC.Trainsport.
A nice quick find on our way north. Good coordinates. Good to go off the beaten track and discover new territory. TFTC, Trainsport.
Quick find this afternoon. The ant situation in the cache wasn[t too bad this afternoon. TFTC Trainsport
Found a quiet Saturday arvo. There was only 1 car at the pub when we arrived. After finding the cache, removing some ants, and putting the cache back, I headed back to the car to see the owner of the car at the pub pushing it down the hill trying to clutch start it. He finally got it downing and headed off down the road.
The ants were very comfortable in the dry cache so I upset a few of them and cleaned out the container before placing back.
Great spot.

Our 2nd FTF. TFTC Trainsport and Thanks to Bessie's-Mob for the heads up when this cache popped up this afternoon. With the cache being just across the railway line from our house it was a nice quick grab on a wet afternoon. The ants have already taken residence.
