Not everyday you get a TE on this particular kind of spot! Its almost a rare delicatessen Thanks for the hide! We had a great time at Namadgi
Pulled off to the side of the road while driving past for a quick find here alongside Baristayan. And so we discover another power trail to add to the list Ive never scaled Tennent from around the back but I guess well have to nowthanks!
Greetings from Tasmania. I arrived in Canberra for a few days to catch up on a few caches before my trip to Batemans Bay with ALL7.What a great journal to use in the country, and some of the caches. Also, the weather is so beautiful: sunny and not really cold. There is a light snow area. Signed the log with good dry.. TFTC
Got a message from ALL7 this morning asking if we wanted to join her and Groot_1983 for a spot of caching. Just what the doctor ordered at the moment and a nice metal health break from hospital duties. Nice weather and great company. Thanks for the hide Tankengine and the fun time ALL7 and Groot_1983.
Got a text from ALL7 wanna come out to catch up on caching and I said YES PLEASE so we head out the Thwara with FFLL, what a great quiet road and wasn't that cold TFTC
I texted FFLL and Groot-1983 to see if both were free to join me for a drive today.. Both say YES FREE DAY.. Zoom drive around to Country find few caches... The weather so beautiful warm not windy and cold... We are good laughing and crazy women.... thanks
I'm on my way to do the GeoBash Tidbinbilla Tracking Station tour and thought it be good to come and see where it all happened 55 years ago when I and 600 million others watched what was being broadcast from Honeysuckle (and the Dish at Parkes) of the events unfolding on the moon.A quick find here on my way back down the hill ... thanks for placing this cache.
Had to grab this one on the drive by. Well stuck in its hide. Needed to be wiggled out. But all good in the end. Thanks for the cache.
On our return from the Community Event injuryman was kind enough to pull over and allow me to find a couple that he had logged in 2013. Great to see that this cache is still in play with the original logbook signed off by IM back then. Thanks Tankengine.
What an amazing way to start my holidays from work. Geo-events, traveling, meeting up with friends and finding many different caches made it fun! It’s so nice to finally be able to do all these things… again. The following descriptions are my adventures between the days of 12/11/21 and 16/11/21. Each cache has been logged to the end of my adventures for the day of finding them. If you would like to read my full log, please find it on any cache I found on the 16/11/21.
Day #1: I finished work at 4pm and headed over to Wagga for the only GIFF event in NSW. Apart from the CO, I was the first to arrive at the event. It was great to finally attend a Geocaching after many months without them. All talk Geo was had by all until we were told that dinner was ready. Soon after, the popcorn was ready and the movies were on. Congratulations to all the GIFF finalists and they were all a great watch. Also, Congratulations to BMG for receiving the FTF on the event. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head to Canberra for the next few days.
Day #2: I was nearly late to my own event. O’well… It was still fun with the small group of us that turned up. We also discovered many Moveable caches before heading off to today’s main goal. This happened to be finding the ‘A’ part of the GA geo-art series as well as the lone GC caches around the area which I hadn’t found as I pasted by them. I wasn’t alone as AKM came for the walk as well. After finding all but the last two we headed our separate ways as it started raining heavier. Hopefully, it won’t be raining tomorrow so the event goes ahead but well will need to see. Also pizza for dinner tonight.
Day #3: Today’s adventures included the CCE down in Booroomba and as many of the nearby caches as possible. I didn’t do the walk to the ‘Booroomba Rocks’ but I am still able to log the event. I then headed off with a large group of others to find the nearby caches. After that, I caught a lift with Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and Barb2e and we headed down to the ACT boarder finding the caches along the way many caches were found and a new GCA cache placed (Gudgenby – GA25097). It was great to see some ammo cans out in the wild, even if they were slightly damaged by the fires. As we arrived back in Tharwa we had afternoon tea and headed our separate ways. Another great day and so much more to go.
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community enjoyment.

After a better night sleep at Condor I am ready for the important day. Hopefully the weather is going to be better than the last few days. Into Namadgi today for an event and a walk. This will put me on 20000 !! Woohoo, good milestone that I am proud of. After that caching my way home for a good night sleep in a bed.

**This Cache**
After parking the car we came over for a quick find in the usual spot, haven't seen one of these containers for a while!
---
**Today:**
Decided to make use of the cool, dry weather after a couple days of rain to come on a hike down in Namadgi! I can't even remember the last time I found myself hiking in Namadgi, I struggle to find the time for it amongst other geocaching adventures but I hope to do more soon!
Sent an invite out to sebass as well, after discovering he was keen to go caching with some company! Always good to have another friendly face to enjoy the experience with and looking forward to caching together in the future, we already have future plans to tackle the second half of the Tennant Trail! This trip we started on the Tennant Fire Trail, grabbing the first 10 caches in the series that follows it, before diverting along Bushfold Flats Fire Trail for some more unique caching in a new area! Couldn't keep up half the time, despite walking 30,000+ steps and 24km, Sebass was still powering at god speeds by the end of it!
Thanks Tankengine for the adventure

Frosty start, quick find.
Going to be out on the trail with Tankengine, AngelG27, Joolay, Contesta, Albida, and Flintstone's to find caches with owner maintenance. First time back in this part of Namagi after the fires.

TFTC Happy to have this as a quick find on our way home today. Container and contents dry. Happy spiders protecting the hide.....
My first visit to Honeysuckle since the fires. Great to see the campground site survived but still very confronting to see all the damage in the bush. There is regrowth everywhere which brings its own challenges with off-track walking up here.
On the way home I parked in the regular spot and made a straightforward find of this cache in the obvious location. Great to see that at least this little section has escaped being burnt - I don't hold the best hopes for the remainder of this series once on the Tennent climb proper, but will head up Mt Tennent from this side shortly to check them out.
As expected this older TE log and cache was in excellent condition despite being unloved for around 19 months.
Thanks, Tankengine.

Very disappointed that ACT Parks seem to have closed everything in this area, including the Mt Tennent fire trail. If like me you are visiting from interstate, probably best to check on line before trekking down here to find out what is open and what is closed. Thanks anyway Tankengine.
A quick drive-by on the way to the old Honeysuckle Tracking Station. Cache was found straight away. Tftc
30,000+ steps, 27 caches and a leisurely (though hard work at times) 6 hour trip to Tennent's Tip and back with dty73 and Tankengine.
Luckily the weather remained kind to us throughout the day and the rain stayed away (and it's always easy to find a cache with the CO in tow!)
Thanks for placing this series along the trail and inspiring me to ascend the mountain today. I definitely appreciated all the stops to search for caches, though it was difficult at times to convince the legs to start moving again!
Thanks again dty73 and Tankengine for a fun day out.

Attending the Queanbeyan Clear Waters mega event, this was my final day. I teamed up with e.gregory1 today, as we headed south from the city, and geocache in and around Namadgi National Park. Another nice day with great weather, apart from the thunderstorm that rolled through towards the end of a day. It wasn't a day of high finds, but some great targeted caches, awesome scenery, and interesting history at Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station, which was linked to assisting with communicating the moon landing.
We managed to find this cache on our way out from Honeysuckle Creek area. This geocache didn't take long to find, and the cache and contents were in good shape. Thanks Tankengine for its placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today was the final day of the Clear Water Mega event in Queanbeyan. I teamed up with a fellow South Australian geocacher and spent much of the day south of the city in and around the Namadgi National Park.
We had another day of great weather until late in the afternoon when a thunderstorm passed over. Fortunately we were pretty much finished and headed back by then.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache.

Today was based around the drive to and from Orroral valley for the mornings event. I stopped for a few caches on the way down and several more on the way home. An enjoyable trip with plenty of success.
Thanks.

Stopped here with Joolay on our way to the CITO further up the road. A good quick find and we were on our way to the next one. TFTC TE SL
Found with Smittengranny on our way to the CITO at Honeysuckle Ck. Great views but very spidery. Thank goodness I had gloves otherwise I was not touching it. Cache in good condition. TFTC
I've just enjoyed the CITO and the company. I'm heading home slowly to enjoy the scenery and find a few caches. This is my third, a nice park and grab. I'm enjoying the drive. Thanks, TE.
What an incredible hike! An amazing trail with breathtaking views. The weather turned at the summit and we got some lightning and thunder, so our time at the tip was cut short. A great (but slightly wet) walk back down the front. TFTC
It was getting about time I explored this side of Mount Tennant - for years I've been ascending the northern face from the Namadgi Visitor Centre, and I'd found all the Tennant Trail caches in the upper stretch. While I knew all along that a trail led up the other side (and have driven past the trailhead plenty of times!), I'd never actually thought to try it.
Given the density of caches, however, I decided not to do the whole thing in one afternoon, and instead followed the track until the turnoff to Bushfold's Flat, to make that the objective of the day's journey.
Altogether it was a very pleasant walk, not too warm, and completely deserted on the trail! I had a couple of close encounters with snakes, and once with a wayward calf, but came to no harm. Definitely a walk I reccomend!
Thanks for the caches!

It had been a while since I'd walked up a good hill (six weeks in the complete flatness of central-northern Victoria followed by a dodgy back will do that) and if you're after a good hill, Mt Tennent is as good as any. I had walked this trail once before without doing any caches - one of those days I just felt like walking without stopping to cache - but today the caches beckoned.
Quite a long, tough walk and a few days of aching legs followed, but it was definitely worth it to summit Tennent on this glorious day. All caches found without trouble. Lyrebirds spotted. Emu tracks spotted. All rather excellent.
Apologies for the generic caches, but you'll understand. TFTC x 20 something

A quick find after coming back from doing the Booroomba Rocks trail. Thanks for putting this here for us to come and see.
Stopped after wandering round Honeysuckle Creek and enjoying the experience. TFTC
Drove by on our way to Honeysuckle Creek (wonderful place) and stopped on the way back. Another step in our quest for 500 Planetary points. TFTC
A more strenuous than expected ramble up Mt a Tennant on a rather warm Canberra Day. Three muggles along for the ride. I think this trail is more difficult than the other trail....
the last 400mts to get back to this spot/car was a killer !
Thanks Tankengine:)

Coming down the hill decided to stop for this and the next quick park 'n grab. Tennent will have to wait for another day. TFTC!
So Aquilus1 messages me, "do you want to do the Tennant Trail", for sure... when? "tomorrow morning", hmmm OK, The geowife gave the all clear and I set the alarm to stupid-o-clock so we could get it all done and dusted well before the heat really settled in. So we park the car at 7am and Aquilus1 very patiently waits for me to make the first two finds which she has done before.... right, the real action starts now!
It was a surprisingly pleasant walk up the mountain, though we decided not to kill ourselves and we took our time. We walked past a few caches without realising.... we were way to chatty but these offered things to do on the descent. At the top we were invited up onto the fire viewing platform which offered amazing views, especially with the binoculars that they use.
All in all a long, but very rewarding day. The car never looked so good and there were even ice cold drinks inside...Yay!
This first one was quickly found, and I do give credit to the idea of starting the trail here.... really encourages people to park here in the sensible spot... though that last hill on the way back was a killer! Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache and the whole series.

Found with AddictedGamer and Aquilus1 while out for some caching adventures. As we drove by we couldn't just go past it so we pulled off quickly to pick this one up on the way home. TFTC!!!
Put my hand in and touched something that wasn't a cache! Hand out and found a stick to help! All good from then on. Thanks for the cache TE, was in the area with dty73 and AddictedGamer and to close to not stop and find. Also wanted to suss out the area a bit with some discussion of walking the trail at some point.
Found with Dty73 , Aquilus1 we had found this in a couple of seconds read dty73's log for more TFTC!!!
A marvellous series. Many thanks T.
Tig & I tackled it on a beautiful day.
We'd strolled the North face many years ago and have had this Southern approach on the todo list for a very long time. No longer )
All caches in good nick and found without drama.
Thanks again (and apologies for the identical logs...)

Wonderful walk today with b&s .... up and back in just under 6 hours on this lovely day (so pleased the forecast rain didn't arrive). Thanks for the cache and the series Tankengine
Ok, here we go. Two geokids in tow (7 and 9 yrs), let's see how far we get as I expect this to be a long climb, especially for short legs. A few caches on the way will be good distraction. Aim is bushfold hut and if we have motivation Nd energy push on to the top, but let's see how we go first cache was quick in hand. Tftc
The first cache on the Mt Tennent route today. Quickly found. TFTC Tankengine.
Found on my first day caching - 23/10/16. I hadn't officially signed up so I just wrote in my initials. TFTC!
Attacking the Tennant Trail today. Car park to summit return, including breaks was 6:02 hrs. Great day to be outside. TNLNSL TFTC
Out on a geocaching mission with Winterdragon in Namadgi national park and decided we could find the time for a couple more caches on the way back! We did not have time to attack the whole trail, but figured we could make a start:-)
Glad this one was in the usual spot! And another of your study containers, thanks Tankengine:-)

We did this one on the way home as part of a recce for a future trip. Keen to check out the carpark, this spot was quickly found by a geokid who picked the spot. We look forward to the return! TFTC
Heading down the hill from my overnight stay I quickly pulled up to grab this roadside cache.
Thanks
Thanks
The original plan was to start early, go on the horror trip further south, and then ride up to the Mount Tennent summit. Well, we started late since our bikes arrived very late and then the horror trip took longer than planed. As a result, we just did the first easy one and have to return later.

Plans were set in place with StrangeTrousers and mtrax to make the nab on some of the more challenging and higher terrain caches around Booroomba Rocks. A lovely sunny but cool day made it the perfect day for geocaching out here!
After the tough slog up, along, down and up and then down the mountain, it was good to sit in the car and rest! We were on our way home so StrangeTrousers pulled the car over so we could nab this easy driveby. Easy find in a classic hiding spot
Thanks for yet another, Tankengine

What you have to walk that far and still walk an extra half a km up a very steep hill to get back to the car. Think I will make the quick find and drive on. TFTC
Beautiful autumn day. What better way to spend it than hiking up to Mt Tennent. Many TFTC!
Following the CITO event at Weston Park this morning, Cankid and I headed to Apollo Rd, with the aim of collecting two prize caches for the Canberra Toughest Challenge. We were thwarted on collecting one of those at the Honeysuckle Creek Picnic Ground, with a locked gate due to recent burn offs. But we managed to progress up the beautiful Bushfolds Flat area to complete the second, collecting some other caches along the way. A great afternoon in a fantastic area of the ACT with good company, chatting about a variety of other ACT caches along the way.
We parked the car in the designated spot on Apollo Rd, got our bikes out and prepared the backpacks. Cankid mentioned that the Tennent trail set of caches started forty metres away from the car. While I chose to save the remaining caches in the series for another day, it was nice to get this one. A quick sign and off we went. TFTC Tankengine

And off we go to the summit . . . It's been some years (maybe four?) since I took my youngest son on this lovely walk.
4736. Well Relish64 and myself decided it was time to hit the trail, so with backpacks loaded we made a casual start and headed off.
A great trail with some welcome breaks at each cache. No troubles locating each one and eventually we found ourselves at the top with some very rewarding views.
We totally agree that everyone should at least come up here once and we will definitely be back up here again. Maybe a different route.
Many thanks TE for the extra motivation with this trail and apologies for the generic log.... but you get that !!!

Probably would've missed the car park if the cache wasn't placed here - overshot it, then came back, which was handy later in the day. TFTC Tankengine.
#887. 31 days in a row.
I arrived at the carpark just before midnight to make a run for the newly published caches. Since it was still 2015, I decided that I wanted to break in 2016 with my #888 find, so I grabbed this cache at 11:57pm. Midnight had me walking down the road to the start of the fire trail.

Found today with some bush walking friends. We walked to the summit of Mount Tennent from the Namadgi visitor's centre, and then walked down the other side of the hill to collect these caches. I think Tennent is actually probably easier form the cache direction, but less scenic. Overall, 1,000 meters vertical ascent and about a 16km walk.
Thanks for all these caches, much appreciated.
Thanks for all these caches, much appreciated.
Not being winter, I waited for a cool day to attempt this series. Just looking at the road made me feel tired before even starting! Although considered a "walk in the park" by many cachers, I found this tough going with its relentless uphill climbs. I think I was a teenager when I last climbed this hill so it's been a long time. Overall a great day out, just a pity about the roadwork crews that were grading the road and making lots of noise. 3.75 hours up (lots of stops!), 1.5 down.
Easiest one of the day!
Thanks

#1220 1 of 24 today.
I have a 'spare' week of leave to use up. Hmmm what should I do ? Sit around at home ? Not likely !
I've had the Tennent Trail in my sights for some time. I've been up here once before on a bush walk about 5 years ago. The view was one of the best I've seen. Time to revisit & claim a few more Tankengine caches. I must be getting close to 100.
I was a bit worried about doing the Tennent Trail today after waking to wind & rain, but the forecast was for clearing conditions, so I thought I'd delay the start & head out anyway. I'm glad I did. As I climbed higher & higher the conditions progressively improved. By the time I reached the summit, clear blue sky, a few gusts of wind but otherwise lovely, uninterrupted, breathtaking views - with no muggles.
I'm a bit worried about this start being so far uphill. I hoped I could get back up here at the end. A quick find.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine.

Another one done. Yay! I found this as part of a daily streak I am working on - over 2 months now. The first month wasn't so bad, the 2nd month got harder, and now it's getting more challenging to make sure I don't miss a day.
Thanks go to Tankengine for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated. I enjoyed finding this one with Jackson Lightning and 4yo geokid. This cache was another "Found it" for me.
I enjoy the challenge of the cache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hidden gem. My new GPS is working great and it has really improved my geocaching experience. TFTC! Cheers. [Blue]Jump Pilot[/Blue]

After completing a successful lonely cache mission, ZQX & I stopped off at the rest of the lower Tennent Trail caches I hadn't yet found. Having previously found #2, and knew exactly where to look. Quickly found. TFTC. Now I'm keen to do the others in this series.

Found again today with Danryn (minus ryn). Almost a year to the day ago! Thanks TE. Going up this time!
Time to finally get round to doing Tennent Trail. I have been looking forward to this one for a long time.
Started a bit warn out after doing "Gudgenby George" which I didn't expect to be difficult. I haven't been up this track for quite some time. Last time was for a night cache (now archived) on push-bikes.
It's a continuous "up" power series, so it was just a matter of keeping going. Finished the lot and did a couple of extras that were along/near the trail.

9:00 am - My 77yo father has been climbing Mt Tennant once a week and I mentioned to him that I would like to do this series with him which was going to slow him down quite a lot but he is intrigued by my new hobby and was keen.
I think we found a good window in the seasons, not at all snakey and the weather was good.
I really appreciate the car park and gate coords (well caches really) as this made it a lot easier and safer.
However the slog back to the car after the climb nearly did me in!
Geo-Dad was impressed that I knew where this one was before we'd parked the car.
Thanks for that and the cache Tankengine
AND I just earned a 15 years of geocaching souvenir!

The plan for today was to do this trail. We started at 08:00 and were back about 14:30. It was a really hard walk because the sun was shone all the time from a blue sky. It was a day with about 30ºC. The way was fine untill the top. And all container were good to find. They were fine and mostly dry. On the top we had a picknick on a shadowy and windy place. In summer it is necessary to take a lot of water with you. Because of looking for the container the way seemed not too long but he was long. With looking for the container (3 more than the trail had) we walked nearly 17 km. Thanks for this challenge and the mainenance of the caches. #3790
