Needing a cache for my calendar this was one that I had been saving however after injuring my back yesterday I needed one that wouldn't require too much effort. I also had my nephew with me so I wanted one a bit different. The retrieval didn't work quite as I expected but the cache was eventually in hand TFTC

Suscoe's 4th find of 27 for today as we wandered the streets in the east.
It was a cloudy day mostly with some drizzle early.
Thanks to juzzmagic for placing this cache here.
We came prepared and all went as planned.
Thanks for the fun.

After enjoying the first juzzmagic one, 88andy88 and I decided to do this one before leaving this area to head to the beach to retrieve a couple of solved puzzles.
So glad we did. 88andy88 was so excited to finally have a chance to use his new tool (read: toy). However it soon turned out it wasn't needed after all, as a different method of retrieval was far more successful.
Great hide and a fav for me.

Too much rain last night?

Had a good look but gave up. Maybe yesterday's rain had something to do with it.

We went out today to hide our first caches and thought we would find some on the way, this was our first find for the day.
We had previously been here before and looked every where until we read some of the logs and found that the coords were about 10m out so with the new coords we found the cache but didn't have enough tools to complete the job, so we left vowing that one day we would return. Well that day is today and armed with the correct tools we headed to GZ and had the cache in hand and signed nice and quickly, great cache and great decoy fav point from us.

26-Jan-15
Cool hide thanks for the cache.

24-Jan-15
Came back to this one as it has eluded me before. Coords like last time had me in the blackberries. Finally after much searching and staring by muggles driving past.... found it! This is very clever, although cache didn't appear as was designed, retrieved it nonetheless. Thanks for this, a really clever one.

Logged from GZ

I had brought my geocanine Ziva to the Basin as she needed a loooong walk. So after we did a lap of the basin and a splash in the water, we walked up to get the cache. It was located fairly quickly and retrieved, signed and returned in an appropriate manner. And as I wandered back to the car I contemplated a similarly "interesting" cache design.. Hmmmmmmm...........

This was a tricky one to find but luckily my Uncle (Biggles of Oz) was with me to help. Big Grin

Second time here and again I was placed in a weird spot. Checking logs I see Alansee posted he co-ords, so a bit of fiddling later I was at GZ and quickly figured out what had to be done. The "special tool" was on hand. Log is a bit damp but hopefully will dry out in this warmer weather. Thanks Juzzmagic for the cache.

Holy crap thats good.

Holy crap mind blown

04-Nov-14
Found the decoy pretty quickly, which had us doubting its location. However, after some thinking we decided to trust our instincts as to the caches location. The hint was helpful in figuring out what material we needed to have to retrieve the cache. But the cache did not respond how it was supposed to, so, like some other commenters, some light deconstruction was required and it came out easy. TFTC!

A nice find for Jnr katnat2, trust in the kids to think outside the box. TFTC

20-Oct-14
On the way home from swimming with Katnat2 Jnr, we decided to give this cache a try. Sheldea jnr found the decoy immediately and then said where the real cache would be... Unfortunately I didn't listen and spend considerable time searching the area whilst battling the mozzies. Eventually Jnr's repeated suggestions were proven correct! The intended method of extraction failed, so once again jnr came up with a solution! Once we signed the log, Sheldea Jnr and Katnat2 Jnr enjoyed dropping sticks over the side of the nearby bridge into the water. Thank you for an interesting cache!

03-Oct-14
After looking for a while at 'GZ' I read some logs and noticed Alansee's coordinates which had me better placed and I began my search. Looked around for a while before finding the Decoy. Continued my search and eventually it all fell into place and I signed the new log and returned as designed. Thanks juzzmagic for this very cleverly made cache. A favourite from me. Thank you too to Alansee for the coordinates and the new log.

02-Oct-14
After reading about this cache and other peoples logs this one intrigued me. We arrived in the vacinty and used the coords that the previous cacher mentioned in their log but we were still about 5m off gz. The good thing about geocaching with kids is they don't need a gps and just go on instinct. I was hunting around (about 5m off) when geoson aged 5 yelled out he had found something....the decoy! He was excited by just finding that. We then hunted around some more and figured we knew where it was but not sure how to get it. I had the kids "Blowing" and then after a "quick phone a friend" and read of the hint had our ahhhh haaa moment. We had what we needed in the car (have to always be prepared with a variety of things when you have kids) and then.........YAHOOOOOO we had the cache. Thanks to the previous cacher who had also put in a new log everything worked as it should. We made sure we sealed the container VERY tight all ready for the next cacher. Like it says in the description there is no need to pull at anything....looks like people have in the past.
TFTC, Favourite point from us

28-Sep-14
This was my second go at this one - the first was at least several months ago, if not a year. Again I struggled to find ANYTHING, but reading logs I realised that it was not where the coords said it was. I then found something that looked suss, and sure enough, it was the decoy, which I actually think that I found last time.

Having read some previous logs I kept looking and this time found the cache, and used the practical method rather than the intended one. As others have reported the log was cactus but happily I was in a position to replace it. I also realised that the log was probably cactus because people were not putting the cache back the right way!

I have added some better coords.

24-Sep-14
Not working the way it's supposed to and log is a mushy bit of pulp. Please have a look as this is a great cache!

24-Sep-14
OK - I'll admit it; I had some help on this one! Read the logs so was pretty sure what I was looking for but a previous finder confirmed my thoughts so once I found the cache I knew what I had to do. It's a shame it's not working the way it was intended. I took a photo of the cache container as proof as it's impossible to sign current log as it's a mushy pile of pulp. Will log a needs maintenance.

14-Sep-14
After 3 times looking for this cache we asked for a hint on what the special tool was. Finally figured out what to do and went down there to find the cache. It was so wet that we couldn't open the log and it wad just mushy. Happy to find it and took a picture but obviously couldn't sign the log.

14-Sep-14
Great and very tricky cache but log was way too wet to sign.. It's starting to get mushy

07-Sep-14
Found it with the help of a fellow cacher. Very nifty.

07-Sep-14
This is my third go at this cache. The first visit I had no idea. The second visit I found the decoy I'd been reading about in the log, and tried to use the special item in all kinds of things, none successfully. I narrowed my eyes and went home. Today I came armed with the special item plus a hunch. Fortunately I met some fellow cachers at the spot, and that gave me to confidence to try out my hunch and then do the oft-mentioned extra manipulation to extract the cache. Such satisfaction when it finally came free. Juzzmagic, you nearly had me foiled, but I am onto your fiendish ways now.

19-Aug-14
Found at 1:12 PM GAFF1 at a distance of 9-11 metres! Found the decoy promptly enough and then I didn't want to wreck anything so I carefully looked around, but then realised that it had to be it. I just happened to have some appropriate "material" to extract the cache but was it going to be enough? Well - in fact it wasn't Sad Had to do it again Red Face Could have used Gemma's help in going to the lake and back!
Thanks juzzmagic.
Feedback: Cache log sheet is completely sodden.

08-Jul-14
I had the appropriate toolkit but not the appropriate tool inside. Managed to sort it out with something else, and a bit of ingenuity. Also found a Gemma-like deposit nearby. Log soaking wet so was unable to sign, was not even able to right an X. Also why it took a little to show itself

02-Jul-14
This was a two day job! Not even close the first day, but an overnight think about the hint and a sharp eyed seven year old yielded the decoy then we knew what to do! Like others, the cache didn't do what it was supposed to when the 'tool' was applied so we had to manipulate it a little... Great hunt which had us stumped for quite a while!

16-Jun-14
Great cache loved this one! Couldn't sign the log as it's completely saturated but snapped a pic as proof of the find

16-Jun-14
Found it with Karen 3155. After 1 attempt several weeks ago we sat down and went through all the logs etc. looking at cache ideas on the net for our own hides. We revisited and found the decoy. I went in search of the real ground zero and Karen figured it out. The cache container didn't do as it was told I would say because it was so waterlogged so some light deconstruction and we were off. I think it needs a more suitable container for the purpose but great cache non the less

02-Jun-14
Very tricky but nice

Found it, sneaky. Thanks

18-May-14
I'd had a brief look for this one on the way to today's bushwalk but time was marching on so I decided to leave it for later. As it turned out, 'later' arrived on the way home when I was able to entice Alsume and bienvenu into a squiz based on the 'challenge' nature of it. After a bit of searching, Al found the decoy, even though it was a few metres from where the GPSrs were pointing. We searched some more until someone had an epiphany and sure enough, there were the tell-tale signs of what we had to do.

The required retrieval equipment was grabbed from the car and not long after, we were signing the stash at 16:35. Upoj agreed with an earlier log that we were about 9 metres from the indicated GZ but I have little confidence in it so what can you do?

This is the first of this type of cache I've found like this that uses this designation. Interesting.

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks juzzmagic.

18-May-14
Found the decoy relatively soon, but with the coordinates pushing us a few metres away, it wasn't until we had read some of the logs that we twigged. Had the required equipment so we retrieved it and signed the log at 4:35pm. A fave point for the clever hide, although I'm not sure it is actually a traditional.
thanks juzzmagic

This cache caused us to swear a lot, and curse the evil genius behind the cache hide. Well done.

19-Apr-14
This cache had five of us perplexed for quite awhile, and we did seem to do the obvious thing and look towards the water because of the clue. But then we found a decoy and then we went around in circles again until Fuzz EJ rethought it through and figured out the cache hiding spot. Really liked this one. TFTC!

#13 of 13 caching in the dandenongs (unlucky 13??)

OMG! This has to be the hardest cache I have found so far. Took a while to find the decoy cache as the GPS had us all over the place. Then went searching for the actual cache. After thinking about the description and where I had found the decoy cache, I finally had a thought and found the cache! What a tricky cache! Enjoyed it a lot though as it made myself and the others think outside the box. Had a few first time cachers with us that were surprised in how tricky caching can be! Definitely worthy of a favourite point and a great cache to finish the day off with Smile TFTC Smile

Found with Vandal, Ozwonderdog and Tyrrell525

#1618 Last of 7 today while enjoying the Dandenongs and a great one to finish the day on! Puzzled by where the GPSr was indicating, we eventually widened the search area enough to make the find. Have heard of this type of find a number of times but never visited one and we were quite impressed. btw, we don't have a problem with decoys and appreciate the time, effort and ingenuity that COs put into making a cache hunt different to the norm. A fav from us, very well done. Log sheets were quite damp and we dried them as best we could. I tried to add another dry sheet but couldn't make it fit with the other sheets. I thought of removing the existing sheets but in the end decided the CO might not approve so replaced it as was. Also btw - I got wet feet! Smile Thanks juzzmagic for the fun end to our day.

Found it. Log was soggy but dried in the boot of geo mobile in no time. TFTCSL.

Worked this one out with T1nkrman after dismantling a double garage nearby.
Log very wet. Spread it out in the sun to dry.
Signed with a pencil as pen didn't like the damp paper. Find #437 @ 15:10
Thanks for the refreshing cache juzzmagic

Paper wet inside. Maybe something with a rubber seal?

Like others when the float didn't work the dismantling happened. Decoy caches destroy the experience for me. Tftn

I did what instinct told me to do but nothing popped up. Maybe the co can take a look.

05-Nov-13
Found this one today. I had previously been here before and found the decoy but not the cache. Today I was on the way to the nearby event and stopped to work on this one again. I was being misled by the coordinates on my gps which was putting the cache about 10m away. I had another think and followed my instinct and voila up popped the cache. I then signed the log which was a little damp today and returned the cache to its hide.

Thanks for the cache juzzmagic.

A cache or two is my task for the trip home from work.
Used to be one of my nemesis caches, not sure why now. Found the decoy quickly and looked a bit harder to have the prize in hand shortly after. Nice hide.

Had an hour in between my daughter's basketball matches at Knox, so grabbed a handful of caches to stretch my legs. But when I got here, I was out of time, not realising I had to go so far from the parking lot down the road. Took two looks then gave up immediately with all the traffic on a Saturday lunchtime. Maybe another time.

Yay! I finally figured it out!
I read and re-read the previous logs and hint and finally the answer just bobbed up.
And that makes number 4 of 31 days of geocaching.
Definitely giving this one a favorite point!

We found the decoy after about 10 minutes, we kept looking. Due to the hint we searched the most logic places, eventually we found it, signed and replaced it,
Nat's Cat and I found this one fun. We now have wet feet and cold but very happy.

clever spot, hard to find.

We found this cache today at 5:25pm as the 3rd of 4 on the way home. Co-ords for us and a few others by the sounds push us about 10m out towards the creek. Started looking closer towards the creek before giving up on that angle. Once spotted, we knew what we needed to collect this cache and happened to have this in the car with us. A dry log thanks to previous finders. This is the 7th of this type of cache that we have found and always enjoy them. As a coincidence, we only happened to find the 6th one a couple of weeks ago. Thanks from D & H B-A.

Hmmm, found what we thought was the cache, and then realized we needed to do more. After PAF option was cashed in we were still unsuccessful in our quest. Wondering if the cache is still there, after reading a few of the last logs. A previous finder gave us pretty specific instructions, which we followed and were still unsuccessful.

10-Jul-13
Located this one eventually after a bit of lateral thinking. Mind you though, the posted co-ordinates were way off however we successfully guessed the target location and after some inspection found the cache. Fortunately we didn't need any tools. The last log sheet(s) were little more than a pulp-blob so we removed and added a couple of sheets from our small notebook.

Really enjoy clever cache hides like this one. Add it to my fav's me thinks Cool.

Found tonight on my second effort. Had to think about this one a little but then figured it out. Thanks for the cache juzzmagic. You will receive another favourite.
Unfortunatley the log is totally soaked and unsignable. Not sure if the container is leaking or if it wasn't sealed correctly. It will need some maintenance unfortunatley.

This cache was found during a cache run with Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts (TDC). A nice variety of caches found with some really nice hides. With winter well and truly upon us, much of the caching today was done in wet conditions, especially after the rains recently. Many thanks to the cache owners for placing the caches we found.

Another fantastic day of caching. The Demolition Crew headed to the Dandenongs and even a bit further. We found caches in the rain, and the wet, we even had leech action.... None of it stopped us, but the GPSr's played up a treat. We had good day though, lots of laughs, and some top finds. My thanks to all the cache owners for their cache placements.

On the day after a huge winter storm passes over Melbourne members of The Demolition Crew headed east to the Dandenong Ranges and beyond to grab a few caches in the rain and wet. With the wet and overcast weather the GPSr's were all over the place. It was a great time even in the weather. Thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements and maintenance. Co-ords on this one were a bit out, but worked it out pretty quickly.

No muggles about today so we had plenty of time to work this one out. After a bit of head scatching and a quick trip we soon had this little blighter in hand. Both Covey & I were roaming the streets after the munch & Hunt event. And Whilst in the act of testing covey's new toy an alert come thru ..... " A new cache" we waisted no time to pack up the toy and found ourselves full steam ahead towards it - after which we decided to have a crack at this little beauty.

Nice work on this one - executed well and well suited to it's surrounds. Didnt take long before we had the cache in hand & the log signed.
As I said a neat hide and would have to say, one of the better one's of this type - due to it's ability to blend in with it's surrounds.

Many thx to JM for the hide - shall recommend.

{FTF} Out tonight with my Geowife cleaning up some caches in the Vermont area I received a txt from Nanton34 about a cache that had just been published near our house. We decided to try for a FTF, arriving at the same time as some other caches I quickly worked out what the cache was and what was involved. Lucky I had my work van! A very cool cache. And nice to meet some new people to the hobby.
