Nice short stop on our way further north! A good reward for taking this small road! Tft(magic)c!
4th find with Bapboy today. Starting to get the hang of geocaching.Really cool wizard!
Fourth find today on a slightly miserable day, but glad to have nucleargunter's company. A nice easy find here, but what a cool spot! We observed that he appears to be carrying four time stones and four soul stones, although I'm sure they have a different, more accurate meaning. TFTC!
**21,565**Thankfully Mr Geckoh was not overpowered by the wizards awesomeness and managed to extract the cache quickly, by torchlight, sign the log and replace before we headed off to the next cache - although by this stage it was long passed our bedtimes. TFTC
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we were staying in the Warkworth area & decided we should go for a bit of a drive & grab some caches while out & about this cache was easily found, how could you miss this location, logbook completed & then replaced back into position pleased to add a 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN except a photo of the Wizard:LN:SL #5,099 for Us!
What an awesome spot. and next to it is a little food stand, p-e-r-f-e-c-t !TFTGC = thanks for this GREAT cache
A nice quick find. A fav point for the fun spot! Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are on the road again, up "North" to visit family an friends. Today start the slow trip South. The weather was the best so far, not to hot, and dry too!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Was passing yesterday with Gorby.Nice to revisit the Wizard again after many years.Replaced log paper as was in a very soggy state .
( ) We thought this cache was archived, so was going to put another cache here. It didn't show up on our phones probably due to poor reception in the area, so that gave us a glimmer of hope, so replaced the cache thinking this would be the new one and wasn't until I got home realised on the geocaching map that it is still active! Took away the very rundown and damp logbook which I think is still the original logbook. Luckily we put the new cache and new paper in the same location...lol.
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
Found with Fisha1288.
Stayed in the Pakiri camp overnight and was quite sheltered from the wind.
Cheers, Cympull.

One of a few caches we located on today’s journey from Dargaville to Mathesons Bay on the east coast. A quick find. Interesting that this one hadn’t previously been found for more than six months! Maybe this isn’t a well-travelled road. Anyway it’s there to be found! #4710. TFTC.
Biked from Pakiri beach during lockdown so just sighted cache instead of writing in it
This was one of my target caches on the way back as it's a S36 degrees 'minute' that's missing in my set, then other is also by this CO and was also found today. An interesting feature here and well worth highlighting with a cache, thanks. There was also a red pen in with the cache which I extracted and left on the rock to the side. T F T C No Fixed Aboder.
Well, this weekend is not what I thought it would be, but it also kind of is too! mrs c was supposed to be heading down to Taihape for the week, leaving on Saturday morning and coming back Thursday. This meant that my 'plan' for a raid out Leigh/Matakana way and then next day clearing out another couple for areas out that way would a few cache finds and boost my find numbers by certain prolific hiders. Alas, it was not to be, though mrs c encouraged me to pursue my original Saturday plans and I didn't need telling twice. I was keen on an on-foot assault on the Matakana 'cycleway' and a couple of other target caches on the back roads out towards Pakiri/Wellsford roads. I ended up with over 50 finds, quite unheard of these days and a mighty 15kms walked, nice. The unexpected rain came and went and I saw lots of stuff, which is good. Thanks all COs for their hides encountered.

Very quick find and grab. Noticed the wizard in our way out to the Pakiri Beach Holiday park. I’m glad we got an excuse to stop and look properly. TFTC
We were heading for the goat Island reserve to meet a couple of our daughters for a dive amongst the fishes.
Well we couldn't resist stopping here to check out this awesome sculpture/art, and of course pick up a cache.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Thanks so much. Very cool. Travelling Northland have come from Nelson doing a road trip
Find Number 7174. My daughter is walking the Te Araroa so I decided to meet her for Christmas day so was heading to Pakiri Beach. As I was heading to Mangawhai first I cached my way back to Pakiri. Nearly at Pakiri so admired the art work before grabbing the cache. Thank you for the placement.
Heading from Pakari to Goat Island with Vistra this afternoon. A minor detour to see the wonderful wizard.
During our roadtrip through New Zealand I found this cache "The Wizard Of Pakiri (Northland)" from No Fixed Aboder on 16 maart 2020 10:32.
Could have been a bigger container to create TB traffic.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

We called in here on our way to Goat island having spent a couple of days at Mangawhai heads. We really like the sculpture here and appreciated the parking spot just up the road. No issues with the find. TFTC.
Headed up this way for some school holiday fun with the family and a camper van..... not clearing the area of caches as we want to return another day as this area is great in the summer months.
Thanks to the CO's for cache placement and maintaining them to bring us to these locations.

We camped the night at Pakiri, and were keen to stop in here on our way home this morning for a closer view of the utterly fabulous wizard carving! ...and to grab the cache of course
A nice quick find, so we didn't annoy the neighbours dogs over the road, for too long! Tftc

I came here to get this cache for the 36° South Latitude Challenge. Very nice carving. TFTC.
On our way north for a couple of days and took the opportunity to do some rare caching along the way. Had a few caches specifically planned, so we could complete a 36 degree challenge, but also enjoyed a few extra caches around the region as well. Beautiful day for a drive and we ended in Opua at a lovely B&B. Thanks to all the cache owners for their caches.
A diversion from SH1 while we explored around the area. Enjoyed this wizard. TFTC!

Toadless and I are making our way north this week and thought we'd pick up a few caches on the way. What a neat find, we enjoyed our stop off!
Enjoying some surf at Pakiri beach. Conditions turned out not to be as good as anticipated. Lots more paddling around and ducking under closeouts than actual surfing happening. Still good to be out in the water. Swung by afterwards to visit the Wizard and collect our daily cache. TFTC
Beautiful Wizard of Pakiri. Ideal geocache for the Team to find. Thought the fake rat was clever hiding the cache, then realised it was a real dead one. tftc
A nice meander on country roads to find this one on the long way from Matakana to Leigh. Tftc and the excuse to go this way around.
On an Odyssey road trip in Northland, with My.Precious. It was originally planned as a motorbike trip in Feb, but due to me having complications with my accident recovery, our summer holiday has become our winter holiday.
Due to time limitations only a few special easy caches will be signed and logged as TT2M.P
This was one I had to do on our travels. It was raining bucket loads when we stopped here, but good directions soon had the log signed, in the van, and quickly replaced. TFTC and thanks for someone's imagination.

Passing by on an Odyssey with tigatat2 who had a sparkle in the eye for a bit of magicians wizardry.
Joint signing of TT2M.P to make it quick and easy (she says) in the rain.

Have always meant to make the effort to get here and with some new caches published up along the coast line, TF and I were passing as we made our way back to the main road. Cool place for a cache. Thanks
After a bit of a wander along the trails of Mt Tamahunga I decided it was time for a drive up the coast. Certainly some variation in road quality along the coast out this way. I parked up near the mighty wizard and soon had the cache in hand. Found in the first place I checked. Took a moment or two to admire the sculputure. This is not half bad, you know. Cheers for sharing this example of local creativity and for the cache placement!

We stopped at this interesting protector of pasture. I liked the colorful stones that shine in the sun. The cows and sheep ignored us, so we went on.
Thanks for the cache.
Zastavili jsme se u tohoto zajímavého ochránce pastviny. Líbily se mi zasazené barevné kamínky, které v slunci krásně zářili. Kravám i ovcím jsme byli jedno, tak jsme pokračovali dál.
Díky za keš.

Out and about from Auckland picking up some caches on a very nice day. Trying to complete S36° Challenge (GC54X4E) and this cache was one that fitted the requirements. What an amazing structure here! I assume the owners of the property here have made this, took a few photos after signing myself in. Thanks No Fixed Aboder for bringing us here!
Loved the wizard. Little did we know how much gravel road we would soon go on including a one hour road closure for pipes. Thanks for bringing us here
Gosh someone has spent some time doing these interesting objects ..nice easy find and sign thanks for a great cache
Someone has put a bit of work into this. Took a little while to find the cache. TFTC
Very nice, I lot of effort was put into the Wizard. Once we checked on the right side the cache was soon in hand.
Me and my mate stopped here a couple of years ago, only for my wife to tell me there was a geocache right at my fingertips that I missed. So here I am, with my mate again, for our long weekend fishing trip and I knew to stop and search the wizard this time. Cheers for the cache!
So fascinated by such a marvellous carving we googled it to find out who the sculptor is. Dennis Rastovich. Apart from me not knowing my left from my right a quick find. TFTC and a favourite point for showing us this amazing piece of art.
We are keen geocachers from Tauranga taking the long way home and gathering smileys as we go. Have to give a fav point for this great sense of humour. Cache is all good. TFTC
Having walked the dogs at Pakiri Beach we went home this way instead of going back via Leigh. Wonder when we last used this stretch of road because you'd think I would remember something like this wizard! Asked GAR to take a photo just as a car approached the gate from the other side and stepped out to open it - luckily I was signing the log out of the wind on the other side and she didn't see me frantically trying to get it all back together and rehidden before she came any further where she couldn't have missed me. Probably wondered where I appeared from, but she didn't mention anything. We were back by our car on the other side of the road by then though. Thanks for showing us this spot No Fixed Aboder!
On our way to Pakiri Beach we decided to make a small detour to visit this Wizard. After all the rain in the morning we needed a bit of fresh air and let ourselves out.
This cache didn't take long to find but it was nice to visit.

On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.
The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.
Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.
For some reason wasn't quite expecting this at GZ, but was pleasantly surprised. Very cool! A bit of a hunt needed to find the goods. Thanks for bringing us here.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
THe result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. THanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
Unsure what I was expecting here but soon in the light of the headlights had the cache in hand, He reminds me of one of the ENT's form Fellowship of the ring
Thanks for the placement
