Up in South Geraldton... I mean the northern suburbs... with Leg5 today cleaning up some of the many dots across my hideous looking map. I don't go NoR very often! Cheers to all the COs for your effort in placing the caches.

Out and about again, today teaming up with L1.77 to do the caches in the bush land north of Hester Ave.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Big morning out North of the river. An early start with C10 picking me up before catching up with Neva2old and TheMongrel to complete a few caches near wilbinga, and working down through Yanchep, and finishing with some caches in bushland just north of Joondalup.

A great days caching and thanks to Neva2old and the mongrel for bringing their pole and expertise for the fishing caches. Good caches and good company!

Thanks to the COs for their hides.

31-Jul-21
A plan was made, hoping the the weather would be nice to us. So themongrel and I met up with B12 and C10 to tackle the fishing caches , a bit of 4WD and several others along the way. Great company and the weather was kind to us tftc

27-Apr-20
Doing a second round as I missed half of them last time due to the long names which my gps doesn't show.
Beautiful weather to go bush.

21-Nov-19
I made a plan to have these series knocked over before heading back to work. The weather was wet at my place but by the time I got north it had fined up nicely . All caches were found . TFTC and the series .

23-Feb-18
I decided to pack up the swag and head away for a night to grab a few caches a bit further north of home than we would usually venture. I booked a site at Yanchep National Park and headed there after work to set up camp for the night. I headed out early this morning to grab the caches in this area. I had no problems with this one! TFTC

G’day there olthomas, I was in this area today and found your cache Lord Of The Rings - Boromir GC4BE1J. I added my name to the log book at 6:44 am on 23 February 2018. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

15-Oct-17
Wow, a spare day all to myself and I took advantage of the opportunity to visit Neerabup. It have been wanting to explore this patch of bushland for many years and the weather and scenery did not disappoint. All attempted caches were found today and most were quick easy finds. I saw plenty of kangaroos and at the end of the day, I only needed to pluck one tick out of my body - I'll take that as a win! Smile Great series. Cheers olthomas

22-Aug-17
We headed out on a winters day to grab as many caches as we could, after the recent rains many parts of the track were washed out so I volunteered to get out of the cruiser and guide hubby through, and boy am I glad I did, I prefer to drive sitting up vertically and I didn't pack a spare pair of undies today. All in all we had lots of fun, a great day out and smileys were claimed TFTC olthomas

26-Mar-17
Minergal & I came out of hiding to tackle the Lord of the Rings & Hobbit series today. It was a bit of hiking bush bash at some stages which we both suffered scratches from the prickly plants everywhere. But what adventure is without it's challenges?
We called it a day at roughly 1600 with all the clues minus 2. We will return next fortnight to complete the series by finding the mystery caches! TFTC's!!

08-Jun-16
Due to one of my clients waiting to play cheapskate, I got the day off, so off to attack these silly Hobbits and Goblins or whatever over the bush parts near here and the new Freeway roadworks and the train line.

This was the third of these critters to get converted to a smily, noted the clue and moved on.

TFTC Olthomas

08-Jun-16
A day with megawat60 visiting some Hobbits and Lords! Enjoying the walk at this point. Must say that sadly I have never been a Tolkien fan so I would not know a Hobbit from a Lord, so I had to doublecheck each time I was giving the clue to the keeper of the clues, megawat60. TFTC olthomas.

16-Sep-15
Wasn't so bad the bush bash. Thankyou

24-Aug-15
I signed the log and moved on, determined to minimise the every growing number of ticks I was carrying on the journey.

23-Aug-15
It is a good thing the wild flowers are beautiful this time of, otherwise I'm not sure I would have enjoyed hiking this far into the spiky bushes. I am also very happy my GPS has a tracking function, so I could find my way back. Cache itself found easily.

23-Aug-15
Gave geo-hubby and Mr iluvtrekking their instructions and a list of the caches in this series they were to find while Mrs iluvtrekking and I grabbed the caches along Wanneroo Road. We found all containers without a problem and recorded the codes. Thanks olthomas

23-Aug-15
We split into two teams, Mr richlink and Mr ILT took the west track and Mrs richlink and I took care of the east track. All caches of the series were found without too much trouble, if you ignore ticks and scratchy bushes, and the clues recorded. Thanks for the series olthomas.

Had an eventful day with The SocialHarms collecting this series. It became even more eventful when the geopup decided to wander off without us! But the day ended well. Leaving the final for a day when our legs are feeling more sturdy!

31-Aug-14
TFTC Smile what an eventful day. Have now completed the pre req caches, but Geopup decided to take an extended walk without us. So after an hour of calling and finally locating her we decided to leave the final for another day. That and give our legs time to heal haha

Out completing the series

Oh Boromir, you did make me work for your clue. Being on the geo bike I wasn't exactly dressed for this one.

Decided today was the day to tackle this series, so on a warm winter's morning I set off in an anti-clockwise direction found all the caches in a short time and getting back and finding the Finale in just under two hours

I have been looking at tackling this series for some time now, so today was the day.
A nice area of bush and a fairly easy find.

17-May-14
Found an hour this morning to finish off the series. Nice morning too but those sandy tracks are a killer. This one was way off the track. I disturbed a mob of kangaroos on the way through. Thanks olthomas.

10-Mar-14
Teamed up with The Drovers for a day of caching in the Northern suburbs with beautiful mild weather. We found a variety of great hides in the area while completing 3 big series too. This was the toughest series today and the caches were a real challenge to get being so far apart and we still did it.Nice quick find here. TFTC

10-Mar-14
Picked up JacobsCrew and headed north, for a great fun day of caching.
Back to complete this tough series which we started 5 months ago, on our way into Perth.
We only picked up 2 back then, as we were towing the caravan.
Many thanks for the hunt today, olthomas.

21-Aug-13
Found on a Supa Doopa Sunny Day.

Shared and completed this great series with Amyrall and Geology Boy.
The long walk in the sand was a bit of a test for this old Rat, an estimated 15 km's thru sand.

Well done Olthomas

20-Aug-13
Out with Geology Boy and BlackRat to make full use of this awesome weather!
On our way around to collect the Lord Of The Rings series and a few more to go so far.
Nice that there is a track close to most of these but don't enjoy the sand much...
Quick grab and on our way to find the rest! Thanks olthomas!

20-Aug-13
Found @ 12:16!

Find #06 on a LOTR caching run with 'Amryall' and 'Blackrat1414'!

'Boromir' was found on the ground, so after we had signed the log, 'Blackrat1414' placed it a little higher (where it probably came from)...

Recorded the code into my 'formulas' app and continued along the sandy track to the next cache in this series!

TFTC!

Cheers again really stuffed now

This newish series has been on my hit list for a while, but finding a few hours free
to myself to hike around the Yaberoo Budjara Bush had been a bit of an issue !!!

However this afternoon I had a chance, and the weather was still cool, so
headed up North to the recommended parking spot.

I went in a clockwise manner and found only a couple of KM's were on solid path, the rest you
have a choice of sandy tracks which are heavy going and longer, or the more direct route which involves
a fair bit of bush bashing.

I chose a combination of the two !!!

With searching, logging and solving the end puzzle it took me 2hrs 40 to complete the circuit.

All hides were fortunately in generous positions, and the Finale in a great location !!

Thanks for filling in another part of this fab piece of bushland.

With the good distance you have left between the caches you could always fill in the gaps with
a "Hobbit" series.... "There and Back Again" is very appropriate !!!

Cheers.

01-Jun-13
Decided to do this cache series while the geokids and geowife were at a kids birthday party!!
Great to walk through this bushland area. Cool weather today was a bonus.
Not fair that we need to be punished for Boromir's actions.

Out caching with Mrs FelixII today. Wow we made it even with showers, rain and sun... Took us more than 4 hours to complete the series... I am sure FelixII will add more comment... Signed the log with FelixII. Thanks olthomas.

08-May-13
Mrs Felix was chatting to Everlasting last night and a discussion ensued about this series.

Next thing you know a plan was hatched to attempt the series today, depending on the weather. So morning comes and the weather looks iffy but decision made to attempt the series.

On arrival at the parking lot, Everlasting pulled out some gaiters for her boots, to which Mrs Felix muttered about leaving hers at home... doh Twisted

This was the 2nd for Mrs Felix and already glad that the rain had compacted the loose sand.

(Catch up log)

The family decided to go out tonight after our meal as we didn't want to walk this in the possible storm tomorrow. Didn't really have any problems at any of the caches.

We saw the note about the bags before we left so took some with us and placed all the logs of the traditionals in them as we went around so they are now protected.

Thanks olthomas for an excellent series.

FTF @ 18:00
Joint find with Chooke.
Started our journey around 17:20 with hope to be the first ones to these caches. We were excited with a fairly quick and easy FTF of Gandalf. Then next was Boromir and in deed there was some bush bashing here as it started to dark. The rest of the series were all fairly nice and easy finds apart from dodging a few spiders here and there. Puzzle was quick to solve as I did a refresher of how to work out this one out before hand. Final cache was an easy find also and we took the FTF certificate. Know i will sleep well tonight after that big walk Razz Thanks for this series olthomas.

FTF @ 1800
Joint find with Gr00ble. Well... highly recommend wearing long pants for this one! Unfortunately i came straight from work and wasn't so prepared. Nevertheless we got there in the end carrying the geodog in our arms since his little legs coudn't make it over most of the shrubs. Boromir you sure tested us!
