A late evening drive collecting two multi dot days, and a couple trads given the roads are a bit quieter. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.Nice to get a couple more of the BtG series with not many vehicles around at this time of night. TFTC gracie7 + Mum, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 4 find(s) of 5 today, making this find #4812

I was also very amused by the Kea parrots, which take care of the entertainment of tourists in Arthurs Pass at the caf. I found a total of 40 caches and in the evening I arrived in Christchurch, from where I am leaving tomorrow for the North Island. Thanks to everyone for the caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Spent some time watching the river! So clear! Water tumbling down mini waterfalls. So powerful. Wish I could give a fav for all these! Found with Piwaka54
A Canterbury maintenance check day to Springfield was planned but we only made it as far as Lake Pearson today. This was our twelth stop of the day. Everything was All good here. Happy Caching
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. Another quick stop for a smiley. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
Another nice quick stop, TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
I was up and away early this morning making my way to Lake Brunner. The roads are blissfully quiet early in the moring so having to frequently pull over wasn't a problem. After fueling up and having a refreshment stop it was time to head back the way I'd come. Quite an impressive bridge here. TFTC

When Albi mentioned about his work commitments at Fox Glacier, as always we decided to make a trip out of it, but this time its a long over due overnight one. Spending quality time together, enjoying the drive, picking up some caches, small walks, and also cherry on top, a Heli ride woo-hoo.
Easy straightforward find for us here. TFTC.

After a week in Christchurch catching up with our kids for Christmas, today it was time to start to head for home. I decided to take the long way home and find a few caches along the way. Heading west over Arthur's Pass to end up in Kumara for the night. All good here. Cache found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
Time to grab another bridge one after skipping a few. Need to keep some in reserve for future trips over the pass. Thanks for placing.
Finally got this one. When I did most of the caches in this area there was a no stopping sign at this bridge. Finally able to stop now and I had the time to do it. TFTC
Travelling home to Christchurch after a small holiday in Hokitika. Wanted to get some more of the BtG series so today was the day. Thanks for this cache gracie7 + Mum.
A quick find and I think this is where I took photo of mountain stream running beside the road
My last day on the West Coast and before I travelled back over Arthurs Pass I decided to spend the morning grabbing a few caches.
A good series of caches to find on the way home, happy plenty of safe parking for my car

[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

I have been enjoying this BTG series and so many different bridges. Such a lot of work has gone into placing and maintaining them. TFTH
Out on a Boys Big Day of Arthurs Pass caching with Tufty. Stopped by to sign this one off as we made our way back to Arthurs Pass. Ooops, here's another one that I missed getting the number from the logbook for the BtG Masters cache. Bummer.
Mum had Lion meetings all day Saturday in Hanmer Springs then we spent Sunday around Rangiora doing maintenance checks on the Babies with abit of caching thrown in. Because today is Westland Anniversary day we headed home via ChCh to do some lab adventures first and then some maintenance on the way out of town. This is another one added to the list on the fly. After a quick look in the spit to verify the last log we replaced the cache. All good to go here again. Happy Caching
On our way from hokitika to christchurch stopping logs. Danke fürs Legen und Pflegen. Kind regards from Switzerland.
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. TFTC
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! Thanks for the cache, CO.

Today we were doing a day trip to just beyond Springfield for a random maintenance check day on ALL of our caches along this route to finish our planned day from last weekend that was postponed due to torrential weather that hit most of the country. Due to the easy PnG nature of the BtGs series and copy/paste logs we receive we often arnt notified of any maintenance that may need doing. Most of these BtGs we havent needed to visit since they were published 6years ago so a maintenance check day was created (but in the end not needed)
The log here was nice and dry but all BtGs received a new logbook today. All good here. Happy Caching

Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

We stopped to add a new cache we already had prepared to match the rest of the series.
Thanks Isis for the temporary cache. I actually hadnt noticed as it was listed as a find and I usually take more notice of the DNFs. We took a new coordinates here aswell. All good here. Happy Caching

I couldn't quite work out why my Gps was pointing 50 metres away from the bridge where there absolutely nothing. Wandered along to the bridge and couldn't find the cache either. Then I noticed the pile of discarded barrier including the end. I searched that everywhere I could get my hand but no cache to be found. Had another look at the bridge and its obvious the end is new. So I decided to put in a temporary cache to keep it ticking along until you next pass through. Hope that's ok with the CO's - if not I'm happy to delete my log. TFTC # 13,838
I have placed a mint tin in the end of the new bridge barrier to keep it alive till the CO next passes by. S 42 52.065 E 171 33.345
This series was the main reason for our trip today and we have now found them all except one where there were too many people in the adjacent carpark to risk looking for it.
Thanks to this and other finds I now need only one more find to get hold of that elusive World Turtle.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were committed to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. We finished the BtG series that we started in May 2013 but for one that had to many prying eyes from parked vehicles. The weather conditions were from thick fog, freezing rain to bright sunshine, ink black night sky and in temperatures from below zero to rather pleasant. We awarded a fav for the series to the Master Cache. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
I decided to do something that I love doing, that is, caching, on Valentines Day incorporating a bit of a drive as well.
I will be seeing a lot of bridges up close doing this series.
Cheers for the cache.

Supporting my friend and his daughter as they spent a few days completing the Coast to Coast course. Took the opportunity over the first couple of days to complete 35 geocaches with the youngest daughter as my navigator.
Great weather over the couple of days geocaching. Apologies for the cut n paste logs.
We enjoyed the BtG series (having already grabbed a few when I supported my friends last year).

We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
Its a 3 week expedition, with The Seagnoid and Zara, round the South Island. Rakiura Walkway, my objective, is bagged, so its homeward bound the long way round. Its day 21 of our epic journey - Hokitika to Christchurch today.
Another snag and tag along our way - hop hopping along. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 21: Hokitika to Christchurch.
I have the cache coordinates as 35m out. That's pretty bad, but then there is not a lot of sky above GZ, so its not to surprising. Others mention the same thing. Maybe the CO forgot to average here.

A quick find on the way over to Christchurch via Arthurs Pass, Thanks for the whole series.
TFTC. Had the opportunity to bring a Coast to Coast participant over the pass for a training run.
What to do with the 4 hours between drop off and pickup?
Look closely at a few bridges between here and there!!
Thanks gracie7 + Mum for the cool series.

One of 25 caches located today on trip from Christchurch to Greymouth via Arthurs Pass. Light/medium rain most of day but still enjoyed the scenery and a leisurely drive. #1230. TFTC.
Gps was wacky with this one. All so far were spot on. I was out by 30 metres
Least I had good idea where to look.
Thanks

We are driving from Greymouth to Arthurs pass today and have found a lot of caches so please excuse the cut and paste logs, I normally prefer not to use them. After more than a month of experiencing the laid back NZ lifestyle we are finding much of the traffic on this road today to be in a huge rush which has made some of our stops a bit difficult, but we survived!
We enjoyed the bridge series and found all we went for. Where the log and bag were stowed separately we put them back together. Thanks for placing this series, it kept us amused on the journey

After a great few days at Lake Brunner only one thing remained.. to score a few caches on the way home since I had already cleaned up Brunner. This was one of about 20 found today. Thanks for the series Gracie7 + Mum. We appreciated that there was always somewhere to pull over and that the finds were quick and easy. Another one for hubby just so he doesn't feel left out.
Like Wallace Point I had no satellite reception but still found it at the second spot checked unfortunately I wasn't as lucky at the next two Wesley Creek and Big Slip Creek. TFTC

Caching our way over to Greymouth and back during the long weekend, the aim being to complete a GIC licence and also grab more BtG caches. I think the final tally will be north of 200 for the weekend. Stunning day for a road trip.

Found this with Tomboy 711 whilst travelling around your beautiful country en route to the New Zealand Mega...
A beautiful day to be out and about in this beautiful area as we grabbed some smilies... I apologize for the generic logs - It no way detracts from my enjoyment and the efforts gone to by the CO's...
A short search, found the cache, stamped and returned...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment gracie7 + Mum...

If Mum had her way there would always be time for one more cache, not that I mind too much.
Thanks Gracie7 + Mum for all the caches you placed along SH 73. I really liked that on the windy sections there were plenty of opportunities to take a break from being in the car.

I didn't know there were so many bridges along this road. Lots of quick finds, some of which Mum left for me but I had to take turns with my brothers and of course Mum wanted to find some.
Thanks Gracie7 + Mum for all the hides, I'm sure we will find some more next time we travel to the West Coast.

Trying to get enough West Coast finds to change the colour on my caches found around New Zealand map. We skipped a few bridges and stopped to find a few. Happy to report no dnfs and all caches in good condition. To make the stops quicker I logged the caches as Kiwi Nomad family or similar rather than listing all three boys names on them and taking up lots of space.
Thanks for the well maintained caches, I hope to find more next time we travel along this road.
Last BtG cache found today, but sure to grab some more in the future.
This one gets a favourite.

Today is day three of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip and while yesterday was all about quality caches, today is about numbers. Today we did our biggest day ever, 50 caches. Most of todays caches were pretty generic but there were a coupe of gems. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.

Today's trip was from Christchurch to Greymouth (one way)... planned it the morning of and making it up as I go along. Set off at about 6am, as my bad luck would have it, last night was one of the coldest nights in years for most parts of the country, so no surprise there was black ice throughout central Christchurch. Wasn't too bad the rest of the way however, I stopped in Darfield for a while to wait for the sun to come up - hard snow on the ground from here onwards. The contractors had done a great job keeping the highway passable. Arrived in Greymouth at about 5pm. TFTC (2092)
Quick stop on the drive from the West Coast to Mt Cook---thanks for helping break up the drive.
6741. On our way over to the Wet Coast for a week at Kumara. This was our twenty fourth find of thirty four cache finds on our journey. Too short a drive that time - almost missed it. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
Out on an Easter Cache hunt where it was all about the numbers.
Day 1. Know how to hold em complete. Now time for some park & grab Trads and Bridges on the way to Arthurs Pass.
Awesome scenery through here.

Continuing our way from ChCh to Greymouth grabbing the BtG caches. No problem with this one. TFTC
We thought about doing some of the BtG-caches we passed by when going up to Arthurs Pass, when returning down direction to Hokitika.
Well, we started "somewhere" and had fun with the numbers and spontaneously continued then. As most of the stops were easy and combined with nice photo oportunities today (as the weather graduously turned better). Finally we did quite a lot, but of course by far not all of them during this unplanned run.
#4: Another of those old-style single-laners we like so much.

A road trip with my Muggle mother now not so much a muggle, my daughter and son (both who go geocaching with me every now and then). Getting these caches was good, quick and easy nice to log and mother took some more photos of the Rata in Summer bloom and the river near by. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for these caches.
We are enjoying all these finds, but we are getting hungry and can't wait to reach the Arthurs Pass village so we can stop for lunch! TFTC
Which side do we stop idk.

Weekend caching towards the coast. What better way than to do it with my buddy and my wee doggie buddies, and caches too. Thanks for all the breaks and caches.
Short stop at our journey to the Arthur Pass. Due to it was raining like cats and dogs we were not able to start a walk at the pass, so we decide to "waste" the time to find all the caches a long the road. Normally we dont like to collect such a powertrail of caches, but it was better to stay at the pass in the rain. Thanks a lot for the cache.
