Parked by the slow vehicle bay and wandered back, taking the time to look over the side. All is well with the cache, thanks for placing.
Velk cesta do Ocenie - den 61 - Otira, West Coast - Christchurch, Cantenbury, South Island, Nov Zland (asi 200 km) Kupodivu jsem se v tom bizarnm hotelu docela dobe vyspala, i kdy Kiwi Rail (mstn eleznin dopravce) jezdil i v noci a v kaonu se to hodn rozlhalo. It was beautiful sunny weather and I really enjoyed the trip with views, caches and a few walks. I was also very amused by the Kea parrots, which take care of the entertainment of tourists in Arthurs Pass at the caf. I found a total of 40 caches and in the evening I arrived in Christchurch, from where I am leaving tomorrow for the North Island. Thanks to everyone for the caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
A Canterbury maintenance check day to Springfield was planned but we only made it as far as Lake Pearson today. This was our sixteenth stop of the day. Unexpectantly this one was missing so we replaced it. All good to go here again. Happy Caching
I was up and away early this morning making my way to Lake Brunner. The roads are blissfully quiet early in the moring so having to frequently pull over wasn't a problem. A quick find here. TFTC
Loved walking up to this one, in my own protected space along this busy road

Three days in the area, and today is a rest day. Great spot for a few caches. TFTC
Off to ChCh on a daytrip to check of a few Smufs/AFBs. We skipped this on the way passed as we just managed to pass a bunch of trucks. Mum Stopped on the return trip and let me out and I headed for the cache. Now knowing it was infact still there I just checked the condition and then placed it back at the hint. All good here again. Happy Caching
A nice quick find here. The cache isn't exactly where the hint points but if you take a couple of paces towards Arthurs Pass it is easily spotted. I left it where I found it. TFTC.
Four years after my previous DNF, I'm going to have to record another one. Found the hint things but not the cache.
Found with coconuts3 today. The tape is getting quite loose and I didn't have any with me to help. Next time you are passing?? Cheers.
A bit of a walk back from where we parked while watching the distance count down. Got to the gate with 10 m to go. As I had hoped once I pressed a button to see the direction it was just a matter of popping across the road. Luckily the traffic level today is quite low. It will probably be a different story in a couple or so weeks. Cache is in good order. Thanks.
21 October 2021 14:23. Thank you for a reason to stop on our journey towards the West coast. Easy find TFTC number 10207
#10,035. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers. The Adventure Labs claimed during the week down south have thrown my overall numbers into chaos. Maybe the souvenir 10,000 find will pop up today rather than on Bank's Peninsula. Who knows when.
We parked on the west side and walked over the pedestrian access admiring the view of the river well below our feet. Once at GZ it was fairly quick find. Signed the logbook, and replaced the cache where found. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for hiding it here. You have been finding some great spots to hide caches along this road.

I have been enjoying this BTG series and so many different bridges. Such a lot of work has gone into placing and maintaining them. TFTH
I've been interested in finding this series of caches ever since they were published. Finally, I'm here. I think this is only the second time I've been on this road, the first time was probably a one-stop trip, silly eh! I much prefer taking my time, stopping lots, having a good look around and - - - just breathing the air. Thanks for helping me do just that!
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. TFTC
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! Thanks for the cache, CO.

On my way over to the Coast for a quick trip - the weather forecast looked promising for once! TFTC!!
Found while tying up a few loose end caches today. Cache was all good. Thanks
Variation on the theme here, Richard swooped in for this one
Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Parked safely a bit further uphill and walked back. Wandered over a interesting foot bridge for an easy find. Liked the difference in this one thanks gracie7 + Mum - my favourite of the series today. TFTC # 13,842
Out and about over the Easter weekend grabbing some caches as I head to Christchurch via the west coast. Thank you for placing all these wonderful caches out for me to find. Had fun looking in, under , around and behind to find them. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. Your caches made the trip a lot more interesting with some adventure thrown in. TFTC
Off to ChCh on a Maintenance Run and we were randomly checking caches.
All good here. Happy Caching

This series was the main reason for our trip today and we have now found them all except one where there were too many people in the adjacent carpark to risk looking for it.
Thanks to this and other finds I now need only one more find to get hold of that elusive World Turtle.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were commited to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. We finished the BtG series that we started in May 2013 but for one that had to many prying eyes from parked vehicles. The weather conditions were from thick fog, freezing rain to bright sunshine, ink black night sky and in temperatures from below zero to rather pleasant. We awarded a fav for the series to the Master Cache. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
I DNF'd this last time but it's been moved and no problems this time. A bit of snow around. TFTC gracie7 + Mum

I decided to do something that I love doing, that is, caching, on Valentines Day incorporating a bit of a drive as well.
I will be seeing a lot of bridges up close doing this series.
Cheers for the cache.

Easy find today after a foiled running plan secondary to cab165s shin splints. TFTC- good idea for the series
Supporting my friend and his daughter as they spent a few days completing the Coast to Coast course. Took the opportunity over the first couple of days to complete 35 geocaches with the youngest daughter as my navigator.
Great weather over the couple of days geocaching. Apologies for the cut n paste logs.
We enjoyed the BtG series (having already grabbed a few when I supported my friends last year).

Cache number 2000 for me! It was the longest walk and wettest cache of the day for me but so worth it for the achievement for 2017! TFTC
We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
Didn't take long to wander back down the road to grab this one.. nice and easy... GLB1721 TFTC (4059)

This bridge seems to be hit and miss so 1 DNF didnt phase us much but after the second came in we knew we had to check when we were passing today. We actually fully expected to find the cache as it should be but found only the tiny piece of nylon instead. Because we had to replace the cache anyway we relocated it to hopefully a more 'findable location' but now is more of a walk if driving towards to West Coast.
Given that the coordinates do not match the hint, and that this bridge gives me the heebie jeebies we aborted early. Will have another stab one day.
Arrived at GZ and after a bit of a search manged to locate the cache. Lots of traffic on the road today with holiday makers heading in both directions. Pleased to see a different type of hide from the others along the way. Thanks for the placement, Enjoying the series.
Something a little different in the series so had me stumped for a little while but got there in the end tftc
TFTC. Had the opportunity to bring a Coast to Coast participant over the pass for a training run.
What to do with the 4 hours between drop off and pickup?
Look closely at a few bridges between here and there!!
Such a beautiful river, perfect reason to put the cache were it was - took me to the best vantage spot.
A favourite point from me.
Thanks gracie7 + Mum for the cool series.

Found by non-caching friend who was looking with kakariki and I. Clever cache. TFTC
Coordinates out by about 20m, so resorted to the hint. Otherwise it would not have been possible, GPS was pointing to the other side of the bridge. Easy with the hint. TFTC
Second time for a DNF and no excuse of the bridge being covered in snow this time!
Went back again after logging the DNF a D found it within 20 sec of looking.... arrrrh. Still nearly got all the BTG crossed off now, this think it is only two more to go! TFTC gracie7 + Mum
Gracie7 + Mum have dramatically slowed the Arthurs Pass travel time. There was a time this was Moneydork's domain. I came back to NZ for Mega2015 and passed this way in my travels. So thanks for the caches.

A beautiful day to be out and about in this beautiful area as we grabbed some smilies... I apologize for the generic logs - It no way detracts from my enjoyment and the efforts gone to by the CO's...
A short search, found the cache, stamped and returned...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment gracie7 + Mum...

Just tidying up after our triangular caching trip. We spent far too long looking for this cache without a result. Long enough to have covered all the possibilities so think it may have gone missing. Looking at the likely location of the hide, there is a possibility that it may be in the stream bed below.
Missed out on this one a while ago - this time muggle friend spotted immediately (mutter mutter) - putting it back, the invisible thread saved the cache because if it had fallen, it would have stayed there!
Doing a daytrip to Rangiora for Geocaching's 15th BDay Event so stopped to check on this one on the way passed. Just as we suspected - everything was all good here
No luck for me here either. GPS bouncing of course and the 11 supports hint wasn't very helpful without knowing which end and which side to count from and whether to count wooden supports or just metal ones etc etc.
Tried as many combinations of 11 that I could come up with and still remained empty handed.
Tried as many combinations of 11 that I could come up with and still remained empty handed.
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. Couldnt find it today.
What to do at a rainy day like today? Searching and of course finding some caches along the road. The BtG series, where we found the first yesterday, was exactly what we need. Very nice to have the chance for parking the 8-meter-van near the most caches. Sorry for the copy and paste! Thank you very much for hiding and greetings from Dresden, Germany!
The BtG cache that took the longest to find by far. I too started at the wrong end and wrong side and even after reading clue was stumped. Was about to give up when we made 1 last attempt and there it was. TFTC
Started at the wrong end, then started on the wrong side. Literally it was the last support I looked at and the irony is I have a similar cache in Hagley Park.
This was one of the more interesting caches we encounted. It held the attention of our collective 4 pairs of eyes for ages and we all but gave it away. Dakotacats was more thorough and eventually found it . WD dakotacat.
Our last Cache before Arthurs Pass due to Road works ahead of us. GPS was off so resorted to the hint and boom found it quickly with my son Max. A road trip with my Muggle mother now not so much a muggle, my daughter and son (both who go geocaching with me every now and then). Getting these caches was good, quick and easy nice to log. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for these caches.
This was our most difficult find of the series. All four of us searched for ages and eventually we had to give up. On returning to the car I decided to check to see if there was a hint and yes indeed there was. And it turned out to be a very helpful hint indeed as I found the cache quickly. The co-ords are out but the clue should be enough to help.
All four of us looked for this and then gave up. Dakotacats then read the hint and she went back and found it while nana and I waited in the car watching the workmen not far up the road. TFTC
Weekend caching towards the coast. What better way than to do it with my buddy and my wee doggie buddies, and caches too. Thanks for all the breaks and caches.
I know how I missed this last time , was looking on the wrong side and 25m away according to my GPSr. TFTC

During our time in New Zealand we have been to many beautiful places and sometimes it was because there was a geocache hidden ..
We want to thank all the CO for placing so many caches. We have been 35 days in New Zealand and except for one day we found each day at least one cache!

#8305. The most interesting hide of the BtG series. We had to widen the search area a couple of times, but got there in the end. TFTC.
