4th of 9 caches for the day (all but 2 being locationless caches - gotta get 'em done, gotta get 'em done). We were headed in the Branson area (headed to College of the Ozarks) to pick up the firetruck we bought (its a long story). Knew this hippie bus was parked at Peace Frogs in the Live Performance Country Music Capital of the world! Shots on all sides for you.
We found this one in Düsseldorf, Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany. I didn't think, we would ever find one, but here it is!

We found this one sitting outside an office we were visiting.
Thanks for the cache.

Had fun with this one. I made the curtains for one of these busses. It has changed owners since but the curtains are still the same.
Dragonfly and myself were driving down the interstate and saw a ton of VW's going the other way. Must have been a show going on. Then finally we saw one going our way and she grabbed the camera and the GPSr and snapped off a couple shots. Oh yeah, we saw this one in Tampa, FL
This VW Microbus with custom paint job was parked in a lot in Bremerton, Washington. As we were taking a photo of it the owner came out and wanted $5 from us. Hey Man, we split!
Elvas Street, Sacramento, California
The family and I were up in Sacramento today, to check on a new project. I spotted this van while driving around the city.
I had hoped to bring a more colorful subject to the cache table but with time running out, I guess this’ll have to do!
Cache site, and other local vans, checked with Locationless Proximity Analyzer.

Found this one as part of the Trilogy of Terror; Check4Cache and The AlbinoRhino.
We found this gem with the Rabid Zebras when we met them to go caching. It was parked on South Knoll Street in Mill Valley CA. Essentially right outside their apartment. While not a classic VW microbus, it certainly displays the hippie theme. Who says a dodge van can't be a hippie vehicle.
This cool bus is busting out of the wall at the Half Moon Grill & Saloon in Gresham Texas which is a few miles south of Tyler, Texas.
This "relic of the past" is actually a display in the new Pittsburgh Mills Shopping Mall on Route 28 near Tarentum, PA, USA. Notice the surf boards on top, the peace symbol as hood ornament, and the wild passengers! Keith and Susan
FOUND THIS OLD VW GEM IN THE PARKING LOT NEXT TO A SERVICE STATION ON THE CORNER OF WASHINGTON AND ERIE AVE IN LORAIN OHIO. THE OWNER STILL DRIVES IT TO WORK HERE EVERYDAY. THE VW BUS HAS OVER 200,000 MILES ON IT. AND LOTS OF DEAEHEAD STICKERS ON IT. TAHKS FOR THE GEO FUN....RAGEXN!!!
We found this hand painted VW Microbus next to the road close to Vaalwater, South Africa. It seems to be a bit out of commission, but nevertheless it's a monument for an era gone by.
We found this VW in Hays, Kansas today while caching.

I saw this bug when I came out of the store. Lucky for me I had my GPS and camera with me today. Be sure to read the License plate.
We found this Hippie VW Bus in Kempten, South Germany, during our Geodaching-Events - isn´t it funny?

This is the 'Green Dream - Out of the Blue'
As the message posted across the hood states (with sticky letters), the owner 'believes in hot springs and ducks and deer.'
I especially liked the duct tape, the interesting green spray paint job, and the shamin headdress on the dash board (feathers, shells, etc).

Found this Microbus on the streets of Salem, Oregon. It looks like a hippie driving it to me.
Found this micro-bus all ready for a rodeo. Horns and all. It's in Tusayan, Arizona near the Grand Canyon. It rained so much today, there was nothing better to do than to leave town and look for a sunnier place.
This one was not running.
Skystyler and I had this bright idea we could snag over 100 geocaches in one day. Nope. We ended up with 59. Not too bad. If YOU want to go for 100, I suggest very careful planning, the summer solstice, plotting a map with every turn, AND finding out which are in Blue Spruce Trees (what’s up with Denver and blue spruce??) and which side of the creek or river they are on. Had it not been for four flat tires on our mountain bikes, we might have gotten 75. We did have a lot of fun however. This was #47 of 59. Vort.

Found while doing the NJ Lighthouse challenge. angryEMT saw this one on the side of the road...couldn't pass up the cache! Thanks!
Found this Gem on the side of the road while on the NJ Lighthouse challenge with Krazytrollz. That is me holding the GPS.
Not sure if it counts if you "own" the VW Hippie bus ?

[i believe this is what it is called]
Athens, Georgia
A staple in town for years, it has had many articles about it and pictures of it published.
rumor has it that the gun on top can fire cherry bombs. i think that it used to move.
i found it parked at these coords. it was there 2 days in a row, so he must be living there now.
there as a fleet of similar 'styles' around. see the art car waymark section for more in this area.

On way to hide a cache, this bus passed us. I yelled, that's a locationless, we slowed down, I was trying to grab my camera and my GPS. Let the bus pass got the GPS shot and then speeded up to get a better picture. Unfortunately the bus turned left and we were in the middle lane and couldn't follow to get a better picture.
Found this old VW bus camper on route 158, in St-Antoine des Laurentides, Quebec, Canada.

After seeing this cache for some time, when I finally actually read it and some of the logs, I realized that I had a Hippiemobile that would count. We have owned "Daisy" for about 6 or 7 years but she is, alas, now on her last legs and is destined to go to the big bong in the sky soon. It really pains me to do this but she is just too far gone. She will live on in spirit because she has become the donor for a newly restored cousin. You might say that, in spite of her somewhat sorted past, she has the presence of mind to leave a more or less living will! Long live Daisy!!! Memorials can be left with the Post owner to be donated to the HippieCar restoration fund! (Just Kiddin')
This bus is parked in a driveway in Monmouth, Oregon. The swirls of color seem to evoke the Hippie mentality.
Yahoo! At last!! Been searching for one of these for along time. We were caching in NV, chasing the DeLorme Challenge when we spotted this cool bus in Wendover, NV just about a mile from Wendover, UT. It was parked at a garage, so may have been out of commission, or maybe just in for a tune up. It was early morning on a blustery day. There was a lady cop right across the street, too busy talking on a cell phone to notice our antics. Thanks for a most excellent locationless, Rock&Crystal
Found this bus, appropriately enough, parked near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Groovy, man!
East Vancouver, BC
Have been looking for months for this one and then turned the corner and there it was....

I was lucky enought to catch this one, flip on the GPSr and snap a pic.

This find is a twofer...there was a microbus in side a microbus. the van may not be painted like a hippie bus but the guy living in it "is" a hippie!
Found this one pulling into a parking lot. It looked to be driven by someone straight out of the 60's. It wasn't all painted up ub was a so called Hippie Wagon.
We found this microbus by accident from Kuopio, Finland. It has a little dent but otherwise it looks quite nice.
I saw this painted VW Microbus soon after finding a cache at a secret Surfer's Beach in Port Angeles, Washington. With the surfboard on top, I can only assume they were headed to the beach I had just visited. Thanks for maintaining this locationless cache opportunity for the past three years.
Saw this a couple of times & was finally equipped to capture it. Hopefully I am the 1st! It is in Kingsbury, Indiana...near a hot pocket of caches. TFTC
Although this isn't a VW Microbus (we've passed scores of them on the road, but none of them are "hippy" painted buses), this one is a real hippy bus. We found this bus at a street craft fair in Oceanside, California this week. This is much better than a VW. Take a look inside it.
Driving down the street and saw this microbus. Hadn't logged one so I figured it was time. Doesn't just driving one of these make you a hippie?!?
Found this VW parked outside of the post office in Indian Hills, Colorado this morning on my way to work.
This Volkswagon bus got wet and shrunk to beetle size - so all the gang had to pile into an RV pulled behind!
Got permission to take one picture-they were not crazy about another. Several "biker" types and a scraggy dog.(I think it was a bra hanging from the rear view mirror!)I really didn't push the issure of a photo with the GPS
oh yea - he said with some pride it was a 1975 VW mini-bus

I spotted these two micro buses near to the event cache I was at this weekend (GHAGAFAP IV).

Highway 152 between Los Banos and Chowchilla, CA.
Found this hippie painted VW bug driving down 152 as we were headed off to an event. My wife managed to grab some quick shots just before it turned off.

found this one in the parking lot of the Mellow Mushroon in Brookhaven , Ga .
totally hand painted , this is a delivery van for the local brewmasters , Sweetwater , makers of 420 ale.

While heading south to Ohio on Interstate 75 just south of Detroit, a VW van with small flowers all over it went blazing by. My wife pursued as I readied the camera and GPSr....we got a couple pictures before they moved on...we were doing close to ninety mph. About twenty miles and hour faster than we normally travel.
The owner looked way more hippy than his stock of the 60's and 70's out front of his house but 3 bugs and a modified micro says enough. Located on the outside of Springfield Virginia.

This VW Bus looks like its in great condition, has US national parks emblem on the door and a picture of smokey the bear by the back window, not sure why it was here near love field-Dallas tx
I found this painted van in the parking lot of the Tom Tom Restaurant in Bend Oregon last December, but forgot to log it until now.
I have driven past this VW evey day to and from work. Once we started Geo-Caching we have become more alert. This Bright Orange VW is still in use. It is the kind that we saw growing up in the 60's & 70's. A really neat Beetle. Punch buggy and no punch backs. Enjoy.
Found the VW bus at a service station waiting for service! Spotted it earlier in the day but did not have camera and gps on hand. Ventured off later and it was still there!! I think the curtains are as old as the bus!
#83. We've seen this neatly painted micro-bus for years on our way home from work. When we found a cache for it, we had to stop and photo and GPS it. Thanks! Phin 'n' Dyn
Location: Circus OZ HQ, Port Melbourne, Australia
Exception: They needed a bigger bus!
Though not coloured in hippie decals, I thought that the uniqueness of this VW bus made it a suitable candidate for this cache!
This bus is the mobile home for some of the Circus Oz staff when they are on the road with the show. The top deck of the bus is actually a VW bus that has been cut in half and welded to the top of the larger bus.

Spotted this 'way out' hippie van in a town called Exmouth, in the South-West of England. The van is actually an old ambulance and we had great fun taking the photo with all the locals wondering what we were up to!!!

Found this one whilst trying to find a carpark to plant a cache. Usually there are many carparks around Commonwealth Park, but for some reason, this morning they were all taken. Anyways, I passed this Hippie VW Microbus twice before I finally found a carpark. Then, when I walked back to the Microbus, and the space next to it was now empty! Location: Canberra ACT Australia.
That's funny! That was me who told Bilbowolf about the cache Let's which locationless he finds next ...
On my way to Munich I found this one - I even saw the people driving this ... thing. Well I still wonder whether they have a proper driving-license
After a number of false leads there she was justing sitting on the side of the road. A thing of great beauty even with eyelashes. I think even the bumper stickers were from the sixties. Lord knows how many punds of grass has been smoked in the back. Perhaps that is where the body colour comes from.
