With hatzofff and crew. What a great forest walk. Took a photo to prove it. October is fruiting season for the blue Quandongs - the pathway was littered with them. My shoe soles are blue!Found the cache without too much troubleLog signed and cache replaced as found at 3:08 PM on October 25, 2024. TFTC, spiderwebbs4.
Last day of our break away in the Sunshine Coast. Our aim is to get some oldies to perhaps qualify for some challenges.Someone had his eyes on this one. Yep we will get it today.TFTCache spiderwebbs4
Another find for the day whilst exploring the Sunshine coast hinterland. A quick and easy find, though it isn't very sticky anymore. Thanks spiderwebbs4!
Lovely quick find on a day of caching didnt even know this walk existed so will be back to enjoy the walk. Thanks
Im embarrassed to admit that this cache took me much longer than it should have, if Id paid attention to detail. I arrived at this lovely little reserve and made my way towards GZ, where I commenced looking in many and varies places. After about 10-15 minutes, I decided to check the hint and read some logs. Duh! Of course. Once I realised, the cache was quickly to hand. As previously mentioned, the cache log is slightly damp, but still able to be written on.Thanks for bringing me to this generally peaceful area, unless a train comes thundering past. Thanks for the cache, spiderwebbs4.
TFTC - and greetings from Tassie.
Bit of a short visit, so any cache is a bonus.

A bit wet. Leaves covering container made it more difficult than it should have been. TFTC
We came here for the Adventure Lab and so glad we did it’s a lovely little town and great coffee. TFTC
Never knew this place existed. Found it, but log was a bit wet. Still managed to get my name on there
What a cool little reserve, even though it appears to have been left to fend for itself over the years it’s still clear how much more habitable it is compared to the paddock next door. What a wonderfully unique place (next to the train line) for this little oasis!
I only found the cache right as I was about to give up. It had fallen to the floor. I replaced it a little higher up.
Thanks for the lovely cache and bringing me through here!

A quick find. The name says it all. Thanks for bringing me here and for the hide!
After a great breakfast at the General store we decided to spend a bit more time in town and find some caches.
Once we found the path entrance it was a nice easy walk through the trees to GZ. I’m embarrassed to say this one took way too long and it turns out I looked right where it was but was looking for something else so didn’t even see it .
We did find it on the ground and after reading previous logs felt it should be up a bit higher so put it in the logical spot. Thanks for bringing us in here spiderwebbs4

Paddle time again on Lake Baroon. All I had to claim was the event and one challenge cache. I had fun paddling to all caches left on the lake with caching friends.
After finishing kayaking I grab a few more caches local.
Today haul was. 3 mystery, 2 traditional, Event and a Adventure Lab with 5 waypoints. So the total was 11 finds.

spiderwebbs4 I found your cache Quandong Express on 8/7/2022, 2:55 pm. This is my find 3701 and find # 9 today. A quick and easy find. Shame that this reserve has been left to run down. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

D 2.0 T 2.5 Micro Traditional Cache
Great girls day out with AtTheLakeHouse.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here spiderwebbs4.
We left Whitey Smiley at the north most Eudlo Town park and walked. A very tricky hide. Thanks to AtTheLakeHouse for re-finding it for me. The stick is quite smaller than when she first found it.

A lovely little project which seems to have suffered a little from storm damage. Still a nice space to enjoy a walk. Arriving at GZ, we took separate sides to begin our hunt and Mr DisSister spied and extracted the cache to find it sopping wet but the log inside was still OK to sign. Thanks spiderwebbs4
Almost gave up. Found what we thought was the GZ, even compass said 0m. But cache was found on the ground as we were ready to call it quits. Put it back where we think it belongs
First cache for the long weekend. This was a quick easy find in a beautiful place that it would not be found without a geo here. TFTC
Wow! I’m embarrassed to admit how long it took me to find this cache, but I will, because after searching all over for a good half an hour I literally stumbled across it. I had actually given up, not finding the clue helpful as there are a million sticky things here, when i read a log or two that made me think it could be in the obvious *there*. Last try I thought, as I picked up a twig to have a poke around. Pretty sure I laughed out loud. Good thing I was the only person around . Anyways I dropped a FP in amongst the leaf litter for the simpleness of the hide (although devious) and for highlighting this location. A beautiful path, once I found the entrance. Sometimes things hidden in plain sight really are the cleverest.
Out finding a few caches with Mr CuriousQuest. I parked the geomobile and we took a pleasant stroll to GZ. There, a short search ensued before I spotted something "not quite right". Closer investigation revealed the cache. I added our names to the log, returned everything as found and we were on our way again. TFTC
Met up with grannysmith1947 for a day out caching in this picturesque district.
This was a beaut hide which surprised me, was thinking something sticky like chewing gum.
Thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the trees, good to have identification signs near them, have a greater knowledge now, well done CO.

What a treasure. Lovely little stroll in the cool after a big Sunday breakfast. Love the trail and the tree identification. Always appreciate learning tftc
1:08:00 PM. With the council working on the entry behind the bush fire brigade we had to find another way in to find the replaced cache after our last trip. Entrance found and off we headed. Had the place to ourselves and a quick find at GZ. Log signed. Our geodog was getting confused being in and out of the car so many times. Still she enjoyed the walk and smells. Thanks for the cache spiderwebbs4
Replaced container. Mysteriously missing. Nice moth guarding the hide though. Happy hunting!
Found the path in and off we went with our pup leading the way. A good search but no luck. Don't know if we found part of it. Message and photo sent to CO.
Quandong! We searched here couple of years ago. Now we got it. Was nice to see that someone is again looking after this nice little area! Tftc
What an achievement..loved the descriptions under the trees. Smallwombat manouvered it out of place, but log was Soaked from water lying in it. Tftc
Was a little curious after if's recent dnf, but never fail, my geofingers led me right to it.
Not at all sticky though.. wet. Wet wet. Like pool wet.
Otherwise mostly good, sorta managed a sign, reluctant to return it, so left the little fella with a fun guy to chat with.
Thanks spiderwebbs4 for showing us this beautiful place. Loved the interpretive tree signs!!

A beaut spot for a wander today !!
And while the trains came and went,
I poked around the Blue spot for a cache
But after a while,
it became apparent,
that this cache wasn't going to be found

Tuesday. What a beautiful area! A FP to be awarded for the gorgeous spot and the hard work done to bring this spot back to its previous glory. It was Luke who found this sticky little sucker jutting out from its hidey hole. Initially he wasn’t sure it was the cache, but then realised it was. Log was a little damp, but good enough for us to put our mark on and leave a smiley Thanks for placing this cache in such a gorgeous area for us to find today.
This was the 4th of 6 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***spiderwebbs4***, for showing us this place.

We are improving, this one only took a quick tick in a lovely forest of trees, the log wasn’t as wet as I had expected tftc
A little stroll along the trail and we found the sticky cache. Thanks for placing it here.
Our second visit to try and find this one as the first time round we couldn't find how to access the reserve. This time it was easy and we were soon on the overgrown path. Interesting signs on the way explaining what the trees were and how they are used. Arrived at GZ and I found the cache immediately. All well here although the paper is slightly damp.
Had a good start this morning... but here in Eudlo it came to an end. Couldn't locate Centenary nor Mill nor this one. But thanks for the nice spots!
We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Staying a few days in Maroochydore, Today we headed out to chase down another Dragon. Of course we couldn't just stop at 1 cache.
Good fun & sneaky caches we found today. Thanks for telling us about these trees. We had been looking at the fruit over the last couple of days and wondering what they were.

sticky tricky! took a lot of persistence, lots of places it could have been hidden luckily my attention to detail and noticing of the things that are out of place sealed this tricky deal tftc!
TFTC quick easy find although that was a lot of luck and gave me quite a fright when I picked it up. TNLNSL
After the recent heavy rains from ex-TC Debbie shelved my plans for a trip South due to extensive flooding, a visit to the hinterland seemed a better option. Today's trip took me through Landsborough, Moololah Valley, Woombye, Eudlo, Palmwoods and points in between picking up solved puzzles and a variety of other caches.
At first I wondered how best to access this spot but driving past I noticed a convenient carpark and access gate. The area is populated with a great variety of labelled trees, and has a cool little pond and a notice board explaining how it came to be.
I soon made it to GZ and went fishing for the container. Adding an FP for the experience.
Thanks **spiderwebbs4** for bringing us here, this find makes #3507. Discover our trackable TGQNRV .

Rescued the cache from its hide yesterday and took home for some drying out. Luckily it was a hot day today, so it didn't take long. The sticky attachment had been shortened at one end and had started to rot away, so I selected a sticky gum one this time which should be a bit more hardy. All back in place ready for more visitors now.
Lovely little walk. Cache was submerged and too wet to sign. Found with samdoggy and driftwoodred.
Cache was submerged in water and too wet to sign so I didn't put the tube back into the water as such. Might need to check it out.
Nice quick find with possumcrazy and samdoggy but log was too wet to sign. TFTC
Found this pine on a previous visit but came back with possumcrazy and driftwoodred for a lovey nature walk and to visit a TB . Container was submerged and log drowned after recent rain.
My type of walk to find a cache. My inner-greenie was ecstatic about walking though this replantation area and the signs were interesting as some of the trees are not exactly natives and some of their names are quite funny. We walked from town past the school and under the train track to start our walk through the area.
The geodaughter and I were having a phat time talking about what I do for a career. This subject began as we walked past the COLA ("Covered Open Learning Area") (a nobby term for a carport) of the nearby school. Upon examination I worked out it was one built through the software I write and I was trying to explain engineering in a soapbox. This conversation kept going as we walked through the gate to the path. I can understand the questions because the kids just see me drinking wine most nights but I have to pay for that wine somehow.
I really enjoyed the walk and appreciate the amount of time it would have taken to plant the tree species on this trip. After signing the log, a freight train went past and I was erect with excitement. Trains don't turn me on, but vicariously I had to share the love for our geo-Jedis 4ando who seem to have a strange attraction to them. tftc

On the way home at dusk, made this slight detour to check what's happened to this one.
Could not find the container or its guardian anywhere near gz, so went back to the car for a new container and selected a new attachment from the abundance on the forest floor.
Back in position ready to find. Hopefully it stays put for a bit longer this time....

Found this little gem of a walk several months ago. We searched high and low in all the suspect places but couldn't find it! Oh well a good excuse to come back and do the walk again!

Loved fungus on the stick.

Checked on this one after the recent finder noted it's condition has deteriorated. I have replaced logs several times here but now I think it's finally time to retire the container and replace with a new one. Had a twin on hand and hidden in the same way in the same spot.
I noticed also that the Federation walk entrance sign has been removed. It had been badly damaged with graffiti, so hopefully it has been removed for repair.
Happy hunting!!

Took a while to locate the way in - the signs have all been removed. Clever hide. The rubber seal of the bison tube has gone missing and the log is saturated. Could squeeze waster out of it but couldn’t unroll it to sign. Left a scrap of paper as a temporary log- needs maintenance.

Found this cache exploring the area with the kids. Never knew this little walk existed, so lovely to see a dedicated bunch of locals doing this. Thank for the cache.

Monday, March 2, 1959. : Stage One of the building of the Sydney Opera House commences.
The Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, sits on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour. Designed by Danish architect Joern Utzon in 1955, it has become one of the most famous performing arts venues in the world. Utzon arrived in Sydney to oversee the project in 1957 and work commenced on the Opera House in 1959. The ceremony marking Stage One of the Sydney Opera House was held on 2 March 1959. The Premier of New South Wales, Hon JJ (Joe) Cahill, laid a bronze plaque at the site marking what would be the first step of the podium, and declared the project underway.
The Opera House, famous for its geometric roof shells, was completed in 1973, at a cost of $102 million. It was formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20 October 1973. The opening was celebrated with fireworks and a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Prior to this, however, Sergei Prokofiev's 'War and Peace' was played at the Opera Theatre on 28 September 1973. The following day, the first public performance was held, with a programme performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Charles Mackerras and with accompanying singer Birgit Nilsson.

Nice little walk to GZ. Spent about five minutes examining everything in the area until I had a facepalm moment. TFTC
Quick visit to replace log - was still quite a bit of room left but the paper was not lasting the distance. All good to go again now.
Found this one this morning. This is quite a nice little area that needs a bit of tlc. It is obvious that a lot of effort went into creating this little area but it is sad that little maintenance is done to keep it looking nice. Cache log was dry for me but has obviously been wet in the past and is in a few pieces. TFTC
Found the hide in good order but the log is perishing and really needs replacing please.
A sneaky walk at night took us to this clever hide
Signed the log, however the log is VERY tired and needs replacing
Thanks

#853 - I have lost count of the number of 'play' days IolantheK and I have spent together now, but they're always a lot of fun and are more profitable than when I go out on my own.
At first it was a little puzzle as to how to get to the other side of the railway station, but a friendly local helped us out. We got back into the car and found a lovely walking path that led us to the cache. A surprising find. I still don't know if the decoration was accidental (created by mother nature) or meant to be there. Still, it's worth a Fav from me.

My fave tree is the quandong tree or blue drop berry as I call it. Loved the plant descriptions along this quiet trail. Cache is pretty. TFTC
All dried out and back in position - reattached closer to its host to hopefully prevent getting as wet in future.
Back in action - please replace right way up so that cache container cannot fall into the "puddle".
Easy find second time around, after getting a new profile! Great little hide, and there are some amazing fungi growing there after the flooding!

When I parked to walk to the last cache I was a bit worried about this one. The skate area was very busy with young muggles.
As I headed towards GZ I knew that I would be well out of view from everybody. This was a very pleasant walk to GZ and the mozzies were sparse in the middle of the day too.
I had a nice quick find here. Nicely done.
