4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Perhaps the reviewer can disable this one until the owner can fix it.

Coordinates were no where near the caves. It was a low tide so I jumped down to water level and it was locating the cache down the bottom out from the cliffs. Had a very quick peep in the caves but nothing. Hopefully will have a little longer to explore another time soon. Hopefully if this one isnt there, the cache owner can replace as it is a stunning view from the caves.

30-Sep-18
No luck finding the cache.

02-Sep-18
Can the owner please confirm if this one is still here?

01-Sep-18
I spent about 30 minutes here today checking out a number of different caves trying to locate the cache. I tried old log photos, hints and even a phone a friend and still came up empty handed. Perhaps with a few DNF's over the last few weeks the CO could check on this one?

Thanks anyway tue_clan.

Had a good look but no luck today.

27-Jul-18
A bit of an effort to climb, but well worth it TFTC

25-Jul-18
Fantastic views from up here Smile
Looked for the obvious signs to climb up to the caves, had a wander through them, amazing formations meandering along the coastline, safely above high tide.
Love the silhouette outlook from inside the caves.
Thanks for the cache.

A pretty rough climb for an old bloke, but got there in the end.

Our second day of exploring beautiful Coral Bay. First I searched a while for a safe way, the rest was easy. A very nice cache location.

TFTC!

11-Jul-18

The log is full.

We were close to log a DNF when we debated what defines a cave, and so tried to climb one "cave" further. And yes, there was the cache! We had a nice view indeed and were able to observe crabs and ray fish down in the water. Thanks for bringing us here! TFTC!

Found after a little search of the right way To go in the room. Great view. Mplc

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 28. Reef Dive trip at Coral Bay.

This meant a drive from Exmouth and back again, so after the great day of diving and snorkeling with Manta Rays I went down to the boat ramp to check this one out. I found cave counting is not a science, but located the cache in the end. A bit exposed, bit still there.

Thanks.

Oh wow! Coral Bay in town was so busy and it isn’t peak season yet! So happy to venture out here where there were lots of cars with trailers on but basically no people! We enjoyed our walk to the caves and were even more delighted to put our name to the log.
Thanks for bringing us here, a favourite from us!

Wasn't the best idea to walk all the way from the beach through the water but we had fun (especially the guy on his boat watching us ) Nice caves.

Very interesting. Loved it. Forgot to bring a pen so posting a pic as proof. If one find it challenging to walk along the edge past the first caves. You could consider to walk past it on the top above the cave. And then come in from the coral bay side.

Apologies for the late log. I did a road trip (from Melbourne) around WA and of course picked up a few caches along the way. Only now am I getting up to date on my logs. We spent two nights in Coral Bay which is a really beautiful part of the world. We did a great snorkelling trip in the morning and after I grabbed a couple of remote caches further south I picked up the family and tried a couple of more. We parked in the nearby car park and headed down to this one. Checked in the wrong cave at first but kept at it and Tarbit made the find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache tue_clan. A great hidden location that we wouldn't have otherwise visited.

Found it! Thanks for leading me to these cool caves. Sadly forgot my pen so haven’t written in the log.

Found! Very Nice spot! Beautiful viewings
The cache was on the ground, So i put iT back in the ceiling.

11-Sep-17
Sent our monkey climbing friend up to get this one. Took a bit of searching but got it in the end, so still there. No pen, so no log entry.

I imagine the cache is there, but to get past the second cave you have to pass the sign that is a warning not to be there. And then you have to leap across a gap onto a small crumbly pad to begin looking. I think d is for difficult not dangerous so I didn't make the leap. Possibly the first cave is safe enough. Consider moving it.

21-Aug-17
The area is dangerous considering the posted signed.

11-Aug-17
Whew - lots of clambering and a keen eye needed (until you see it). TFTC

Ps a bit windy here - tree grow along the ground

06-Aug-17
Clambered around the rocks counting caves and soon had the prize in hand

06-Aug-17
Clambered around the edge to GZ and after a few minutes we had it in our grasp

We did a beach walk from Coral Bay in low tide. At the cache site we wondered which cave could be meant. With a little climb the cache was spotted after a while. Thanks for hiding.

06-Jul-17
Bit of a disaster for us here...one of our clan missed their handhold and took a tumble which left a whole lot of scratches and a smashed phone! Meanwhile the kids found the cache so it wasn't all bad. A stunning spot but wow those rocks are sharp! TFTC.

Day three of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!

Today we travelled from Carnarvon to Exmouth via lake McLeod, quobba blowholes, past the Tropic of Capricorn, Coral Bay, and Cape Range national park.

We got up early again today, well earlier than planned, must be the heat and picked up our first cache overlooking the Gascoyne river, after stopping for a nice happy snap at the big banana!

Continuing long great northern highway we ventured to the quobba blow holes, and further down the track go wanaus02 cache and the hmas sydney memorial.

After driving back to the main road and continued for what seemed like an eternity before landing in coral bay where we went cave hopping and picked up a t4.5cache just a few meters from schools of fish and pristine untouched waters!!

Back on the road we passed through the Tropic of Capricorn collecting the ZH cache there and the obligatory photograph for the album, before continuing on towards Exmouth.

Further down the track we ventured into cape range national park tackling a number of simply awesome team red roo caches which highlighted the rugged inland caves, rocks and gorges and their near polar opposite of the crystal clear water. Loved the virtual cache here, and awarded many a favourite.

We continued into town after doing the huge loop around picking up a few caches in town including a couple of archived caches which are still in place and proudly claiming FTF on the only puzzle cache for some 500 kilometres.

A huge days caching collecting a couple of archived caches, a FTF, a virtual and couple more
LGAs. Thanks to the local COs

One of us was the navigator and one was the mule. No prizes for guessing who was the mule. Check Cravo's log if you need assurance.
We were well prepared with a sistema container for the phone, but just kept going along the caves until we found the obvious pill container.

Found this cache this morning.
As we have not paid attention to the T rating we were only equipped with Flip Flops but I made it to the cache.
Really nice location.
Thank you for taking us there.

wow nice climbing with junior 003 took some looking and counting caves a bit tricky. Also did it on sunset so made it harder but tftc

15-Dec-16
Love this one a challenge for jammy01 and I practically rock climbing in flip-flops took us a while to find correct cave but eventually found the one that you can stand up in. Night had basically rolled in on us and a dark climb up the rocks.

lahierra and I are on a trip through Australia to visit this wide and varied country. Geocaching always helps us to find the most interesting places. The second day in Coral Bay we went for a walk along the beach to the South. After passing a beach with really big shells laying in the sand, we climbed the rocks and looked into the caves. The third cave (according to our counting) showed a lot of possiblities to hide a small box but we could not find it. I climbed up to the next cave, and there I found it
Thank you for showing this place.

Cool

03-Dec-16
Found on my second attempt. Didn't go a cave enough yesterday but today came in from the car park which is far easier (but not easy - elderly and the very young would do better going for a walk along the jetty). From the jetty end it is the 3rd big cave, from the carpark (near the toilets) it is the 2nd. You can stand in the cave and a bit of "rock art" will let you know that you are in the right place. Take your time and enjoy the view.

06-Nov-16
Found on our great Australian adventure. Thank you for showing us this hideout. We definitely would not have seen these caves if we hadn't have been caching. TFTC and greetings from Switzerland.

I tried to find the cache, within the room, but today it just did not want to show itself.

Found today with Bjossi - thanks for the help. We love Coral Bay! It's nice to be back. TFTC

11-Oct-16
After an amazing snorkeling tour to Ningaloo Reef (where we spotted plenty of colourful corals and fishes as well as manta rays, sharks, dolphins, tortoises - and in the distance even humpback whales) we used some time for a short hike along the coastline. This one was the first cache we found here. Unfortunately the bats were out of the cave. Thanks for the cache!

28-Sep-16
What an awesome spot would not have found this with out the cache

28-Sep-16
Not very suitable for young kids but a great cache, you need to be commuted as its on the edge and rather dangerous

25-Sep-16
Mr ILT made the climb to the rooms with a view and managed to search one cave, but with the wind so gusty and blustery he didn't get to any of the other caves today. Maybe next time we are in Coral Bay, maybe not. Thanks for the adventure tue_clan.

22-Sep-16
TFTC...first not sure which cave counts as 1, but then found quick. Thanks for showing that spot.

19-Sep-16
Took awhile & after trying out a suggestion from a previous finders log I came out with a win! Awesome spot that I would have never found without the cache placement. Tftc

We had left home in Adelaide in early July and traveled to Darwin and then continued toward the west.
After about seven weeks we found ourselves here at beautiful Coral Bay.
Sadly It was too much for me as I needed a much younger person to scale those rocks.
As I retreated a couple and their teenage son approached and I asked if they knew about geocaching.
Yes was the reply, so I made an oblique reference to the lad looking for it. Nup! They just continued on their beach ramble.

26-Aug-16
Stopping past after work for a look it was a bit of time before we found it. The coordinates are a bit out and we had no idea which cave number we were in because we came down from the car park above.
All I can say is trust your instincts not your gps.
Thanks for hiding tue clan another D/T off the grid Smile

23-Aug-16
Amazing place. Spent time with geomun in the third cave, but discovered it in the 4th. Tyftc

23-Aug-16
Found today on day 2 in beautiful Coral Bay. Definitely deserves the 4.5 terrain rating. I would advise over 60s to take a son along. Took a while to find . Looked in the wrong cave first. TFTC

With Mortimer 57 during our fantastic 3 weeks trip in Western Australia. Thank you to all the owners for their great job. We had a lot of fun to do Geocaching in your country !
Greetings from France!
This one wasn't for us today...

27-Jul-16
A quick find today after arriving and setting up the caravan for the night and then going for a short drive. The last time we came here this road was not here - now it's bitumised and has a boat ramp (and cache) as well. SL and replaced. Thanks to tue_clan for the cache.

So close to the boat ramp !!
Yet so far away Big Grin

This was a fun, caching hide 'n' seek Razz
Though a bit dangerous [:o]
Hey !! I like living on the edge Wink

Those with claustrophobia may want to give this one a miss Big Grin

I found me way down to GZ and wondered ...
... " Dare I go in ?? " [:o]
Me inner geologist and structural engineer were screaming out not too !!! [:o)]

But the troglodyte side of me brain said ...
... " What the heck !!?? " Smile

Yet despite some rock climbing and scrambling around,
I missed spying this cache today [:o]

I think that all that unstable rock above me head was disrupting me caching senses ...
... all I wanted to do was get out of there Red Face
This spot is not like a limestone cave that is unlikely to fall on your head !!
This is a really dangerous spot which can fall on your head !! Big Grin

16.05.16 looked again with bradandjanet found where it goes so replaced cache

16-May-16
This cache was found while we are on our Brad&Janet's Excellent Adventure to WA. Travelling with Mr and Mrs Grump68, Mr and Mrs Yang, and the Others.
One of the challenges on the trip was to try to keep a cache a day streak alive. But that was of secondary importance to the Adventure itself.
We organised two events. One in Karajini NP on 20 May and one in Broome on 27 May.
The adventure so far has included a kangaroo charging and head-butting our car left rear door while we were effectively stopped. And a big challenge which was the differential internal locking bolts starting to undo themselves while we were on the Menzies to Sandstone road a mere 570km east of Geraldton.
This enforced a change of plan which took two teams (Brad&Janet and Mr and Mrs Grumpi68) to Geraldton. Which was not a bad thing at all
While in Geraldton we found a few local caches and even managed a first on a D4.5/T5 6 week old cache in the centre of town!
The other two couples and 4WDs continued on the planned route north and we eventually caught them at Coral Bay after our 4WD had finished its refreshment at the Geraldton ARB Day Spa
While here we looked for most of the local caches.
This one was the most problematic. Over two attempts we searched each of the caves in some detail. On the second attempt I found some broken plastic which I suspect was the remains of a container.
There was really only one obvious place that fitted the clue, the GPSr, and which was near the broken plastic (and given the remoteness of this cache) we made a decision to replace the container and log. Please let us know if this is a problem.
SL with Grumpi68
TFTC tue-clan Smile

16.05.16 had a good look, ripped a good shirt, knelt in good roo poo, attacked by angry bats, but still didn't find it

13-May-16
Looked high and low in every cave after reading the hint and not finding it there. Spent over an hour looking for the cache. Nothing. Left very disappointed about the geocache. On tbe upside, saw plenty of beautiful fish, jellyfish and even a few little skypuppies (bats) while searching...

24-Apr-16
We didn't really look for it because it was getting dark and one of the kids was a bit scared - and after reading the last logs, we didn't want to spend hours looking-but we really enjoyed visiting the caves. I don't think we would have discovered them without this geocache, so thank you very much!

23-Apr-16
Searched high and low for about half an hour, couldn't find it, there are about a thousand holes in the roof of the cave, did not find.
