I found this cache on my Mega Walk #25 - a 25,000 step through Williams Landing, Point Cook and a short add-on at the Docklands at the end of the day. I took a 2km walk along the coast from the Venom 3 cache, which was nice and had great views of the bay and the city on route. A muuuuch easier find here than the previous cache. Thanks from D B-A
A quick grab with Eudes at 1:05pm as we were heading back to the cars along the beach to finish our 10km walk around the park.the post-walk BBQ was definitely calling at this stage.thanks tackle_head
Making our way back to the cars (read: post-walk barbie ) along the beach by now, this one became the order of the day. Once at GZ, Al soon had the stash in hand at 13:05 with the main bunch barely noticing that we'd even stopped. TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks tackle_head.
This was a quick find after spending the morning in the area with a Birdlife Melbourne Photograhic group. Thanks to tackle_head for the cache
I am in the process of revisiting my DNFs, and I had noticed that this missing cache had been replaced recently. A quick and easy find was made this time around. I love this coastal park. They were filming a music video involving mermaids while I was here, which was interesting to watch.
First one on the Log book !
I'm exosted after hawling all the rubbish from the beach.

Looked in the most obvious place, and a few less obvious and further away from the coords just in case. No spiders today, but unfortunately no find either
I have done a few Tackle Head caches in my time, so I know a few of his tricks. I found the most likely hiding place, but there was nothing there. I read previous logs and phoned a chum, and think I was on the money, but I could not find the cache.
Headed out in the evening on the MTB to find a few caches.
Had the place to myself at this time of day.
A nicely concealed container, from which the lid has departed. A cricket had taken up residence, but he hopped off when I was extracting the log.
Log is dry and in good condition.
Very pleasant view from here.

With such accolades and such diversity I’m thinking a repeat visit is in order. It’s been such a great day discovering some different habitats at lower altitudes. Totally foreign territory for this gal from higher altitudes. In Melbs and had some out to explore beyond the fringe. Interesting to discover the local including the encroaching new residential development. This is also a double bonus after a paddle on the ‘Werribee’ TFTC and a fave for location.
It was finally a beautiful day today after too many rainy cold days so went out with the smallest geokid for a few scooter rides around this area to get some trads and a few of the new ad lab's that had popped up recently
After doing a couple of ad labs and bonus caches at point cook we then headed here and since the homestead was closed there were only a couple of cars. We deployed the scooters and rode around the trails and got the 4 caches that were in this area.
Well this one gave us a fright. Once I found it there were spider webs inside the container so I decided not to randomly stick my finger in there so I gave it a quick shake and out came the huntsmen. Little geokid was very glad they didn't find this one!
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

We were able to avenge our ‘could not look due to muggles’ today as we walked in the strong wind to make an easy find.
Thanks tackle_head for the placement.
Thanks tackle_head for the placement.
Missed out on this one today as there were a couple picnicking right at GZ. Grrrr!
Nice views out here, squeezed this in before 5pm. Haven't been out this way in some time. Thanks
Another quick find! Although not every day you see a ship floating on air!
What a beautiful spot. So peaceful, perfect to recharge after the latest lock up. TFTF
A lovely area away from the more popular Coastal Park. Made three quick finds here on a chilly afternoon.
Thanks tackle_head!
Thanks tackle_head!
While staying with my sister in the West we checked out a couple closeby. Really enjoyed my morning walk around this old heritage area. Thanks for bringing me here tackle_head
This one was quite difficult to find as the cobwebs made it almost impossible to see!
A nearby stick helped me out and the log was signed and returned in no time. TFTC

You can tell this one had not been found in awhile with all the cobwebs on it! Also pencil needs sharpening. TFTC!
A lovely morning for a walk. Decided to explore our new neighbourhood and what better way to see everything than a caching day out. TFTC
Sadly the homestead has signs to say it's now permanently closed. But there is still access to the cache itself. If you go south from the car park there is a gap in the fence next to a gate. Grub62 was able to find this cleverly hidden cache. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Out with Bunadoorian this morning to find a cache placed in 2002 - we found this one close to where we had come many years ago to a workmates wedding . Love the view of the water from here. Well hidden cache. TFTC tackle_head. Find 3 for today
While the Family Cruised the Pacific I journeyed around Point Cooke Grabbing a few solved puzzles, Trad’s and try and avenge a DNF.
I planned to find this on my previous visit but the Ranger advised me the gates were about to be closed, so I obliged and moved on.
Returning with plenty of time to explore the estate.
It took a couple of different angles to locate the hide as I kept thinking the Windmill near the main gate could do with some WD40 as it could be heard gowning across the Park.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache Tackle_Head

What a great spot. I don't think anyone's found it for awhile it was pretty spidery. TFTC tackle head
A nice walk along the beach to access this cache. As it hadn’t been found for a while, it took a stick to retrieve it due to the presence of a significant amount of spider web. A nice view out into the bay albeit a bit smelly from the weed today. TFTC
**Find #1940**
The homestead was closed today, and it looks like it's permanent. Any way with no-body around on a chilly 7 degree morning the cache was quickly found. An amazing number of all types of water birds in the water near GZ. A cracker of a place to visit.
Thanks **tackle_head**

Nice walk along the beach, found within a few minutes. Few spiderwebs though! TFTC
Took us forever but we finally discovered it by read other people’s comments. Good cache!
Found on a humid Sunday afternoon before heading in to the Queen Vic Market. TFTC
After spending the last 2 days with family and enjoying Christmas and also eating way too much, today was time for a walk and to find a few caches.
I picked this area as I have not been down to this Costal Park before and I thought it would be nice and quiet here.
The homestead was closed but everywhere was open and as I parked near GZ I followed the path down to the tower, then on the way back I took a side track that followed the edge of the property and soon came across a grass opening at the back of the homestead.
The view to the beach and I assume part of an old jetty in the ocean was great to look at.
Coords spot on and I soon spotted another well disguised but not so hard to spot tackle_head cache.
Thanks for bringing me down to another new area to enjoy.
Thanks tackle_head TFTC.

We reached the Marine Sanctuary via a different path. So when we walked past the cache, I had to go back and double check it. The location seemed odd, as there didn't seem to be any trails up to this sign, but maybe if we had come from the homestead you would see it and visit it. Lots of spider webs and I was hoping that the camo wasn't hidden behind them. Ended up being an easy find and retrieval. TFTC.
We parked down at the end of the side road carpark and walked to the homestead before heading off on the wetlands walk to the tower. This was our first cache of the day. Quick find, tftc.
The 3rd of 3 tackle_head caches found whilst visiting the marine park on our way back from an overnight stay in Werribee
The cache was easily located and found in excellent condition
Log signed and returned as found before moving on
Many thanx to tackle_head

I've been meaning to find this cache for a while, and unexpectedly today was the day. I could tell this cache hasn't been found in a while because it was covered in spiderwebs. Beautiful location, thanks tackle head
I found a few of your caches recently- could be going all "fangirl", could be a coincidence... who can say?
Persuading the family that despite the fact we could still see the car, after going to look at the tower, but that yes, we were going onward, yes, in the rain... was tricky.
Until I found a mass of writhing millipedes just up the track - that tipped the balance to 4 in favour. I pressed on - past a pile of abalone shells - now 5 in favour and one lagging.
We hit the shore which was enshrouded by a foggy mist of rain, which made it feel almost claustrophobic- not anything I've experienced at the seaside before today.
We pressed on with me beckoning the others forward. Despite the "no shooting " and "no dogs" sign we saw evidence of both. We came to where you can see buildings from the homestead and I " just went to read this information sign". And then while the others examined the varied sea treasures on the beach, I made a swift signature at the very top of a new log, and went to join them. It's so pretty here!! Definitely coming back in warmer weather.

Checked and replaced the log.
Although the park is closed, access can be gained via the adjacent park

Thanks for the cache. Bit smelly here, but I didn't gag so that's quite good thing lol Very peaceful here. Love it
Sad to say there are two pens next to the sign but no container and most importantly no log sheet...
Found today whilst visiting the park.
No pen unfortunately...so logging with a photo .
I hope that's ok.
Thanks Steve .

The access gate to this one was closed today, and there was a sign on the first gate that the park might be closing down. I think we might have been OK to walk the rest of the way but we chose not to as the ranger who came out to the gate didn't say that we could, and we didn't think to ask until he had gone back in.
The forecast for today had it getting worse in the afternoon, so BettyBoo3747 and I choofed off down to Point Cook to collect a puzzle long solved. While we were in the area we did a few others.
The Homestead is still all locked down, so we walked the long way around to GZ.
Nice to be in amongst the pine trees on such a windy day.
I can remember guys from work floundering around here in many years past.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 10735. Having spent the last two days riding around in the sunshine we decided to take the dogs for an outing and find a few caches, hopefully before the rains came. I managed 5 finds and the dogs had a couple of walks and we beat the rains!
Last time we were here the homestead was open and we enjoyed wandering the grounds and then having something to eat at the Cafe. Hopefully it will be a going concern again soon. We walked the walk today, leaving the girlies in the car whilst we headed to GZ. A most enjoyable walk it was too, down to the gateway and through the lovely large pine trees. Fortunately we did not trespass as there was a Parks Ranger vehicle cruising around the grounds. A nice neat hide here at GZ and I was surprised to see that it hadn't been done since April. All good here.
Thanks tackle_head

Middle of the day but still felt quite spooky making my way to this cache. Felt the history of the deserted homestead as I walked 'the long way around'. Hopefully something useful will be done with this place so getting to the cache doesn't feel so naughty. THX.

The first cache of the day and a very nice walk across to GZ. We took the path that wasn't on the homestead property and it was just as easy as across the field but gave a nice view of the old pines.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this cache experience here today.

After stealthy access via the closed Homestead site, I made my way to the cache where I was surprised by a family on the beach!
Enjoyed reading the information here - it's so terrific areas like this are protected marine parks.
Cache soon in hand, signed, and returned as found.
I only wish I had more time to explore this wonderful area.

Great views across the bay here.
After a morning's caching in the good company of Ian & Penny, it was time for lunch. We arrived fully expecting to be able to enjoy the grounds of the Point Cook Homestead - no such luck it is closed for some undisclosed reason. So after lunch in the wind we walked across to the even windier beach where the cache was quickly spotted.
Our thanks to tackle_head for bringing us to this location.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there tackle_head. We found your cache "Point Cook Marine Park" today. This cache makes our find count 12533.

We spent a really enjoyable day today, caching with Phetlern. We started off in Werribee South then roamed across to Point Cook, Seabrook, Williams Landing and Hoppers Crossing. We found a good cross section of 'caches ranging from Nano right up to Large, and arrived back at camp tired and ready for a few drinks, a baked salmon dinner and a huge pavlova (Thanks Penny & Helen).
[Red]
The road entry has a locked gate, and signs say that the homestead is closed until further notice. [/Red]
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: A smiley badge, if the container was large enough.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

Despite the heat Arkbell80 and I came out to get some last caches for the year. As always this area is beautiful and the breeze off the bay was most welcome.

Found with Bazinga01. This cache hasn't been found for a while but the cache is still in great condition. A nice area with a great view of the city. TFTC
Gentle walk to this cache and quick find. Very peaceful and terrific view of the CBD. Feeling of being here before for another tackle-head cache that certainly wasn't as straight forward as this one. T4bringing me here.
Catching up on a few logs. A very pleasant afternoon caching and finally getting the last few smileys close to home. We had just tackled Journey with a nice walk and stopped for a coffee at the lovely cafe here. Coffee in hand we wandered down to the beach. I even took a photo. Cache was not in good shape. Random bits of paper stuffed in. Did some maintenance but will need a new log and maybe a baggie? TFTC though.
Beautiful spot. Geodaughter thought this a nice spot to leave our baby smurf who is in a race around Australia! Good luck Baby Smurf! TFTC
Nice day to explore the Point Cook Homestead area. Good to be able to collect a few caches as well ))
We loved exploring this area today and could hardly believe that we had never been here before. The area was teeming with bird life; in the background we saw some ships, the Melbourne skyline and the remains of the pier. Beautiful!
Whilst there was a bit of muggle foot traffic, we could make the find undisturbed, sign the log and return the cache.
Thank you for bringing us here!

Found this one ok, lid rusted by salt air and still a few ants residing in cache although it is quite protected where it is hidden. Great spot, tftc.
