Logs
I have just seen all the maintenance logs for this cache over the past 10 years. I placed this over a decade ago and cannot remember where it is.
Found the container but theres no log in sight, hole in the lid too so the inside are dirty. Cache matched the description. Found 8/10/24
Thanks for this one to go t next to my house with. Was great but NEEDS to be checked rats have bit it open and its rotting inside
Bit of gorse nearby, luckily the cache wasn't in it. Nice and easy, log all good and signed. TFTC.
Our first cache for today and unfortunately it was really dirty and soaking wet so we took a photo attached as we couldn't write on the log. Thanks for the cache.I took today off to celebrate my birthday and what better way to celebrate than by going geocaching. What a fantastic summers day for caching in and around Long Bay Regional Park with Lis's Crew.
I'm down in Auckland for a geocaching weekend with Yvettetb. It's her birthday today and if it was me I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday than doing something I like with a friend. Today's plan was to do the walks in Long Bay Regional Park. Of course we grabbed some along the route to get there and this was our first cache of the day. I'd been to this cache years ago and not found it. Today it was very obvious but like Yvettetb said we couldn't sign the log as the contents and container were wet and dirty as the containers lid had holes. Thanks for the hide
Glenvar Road is closed from East Coast Road to Fitzwilliam Drive due to the number of landslides that have washed out its foundations.
Barriers are in place at both ends and the reconstruction work could take 12 months.
Cache should be disabled until access is safe.

took us a while to find, ended up trespassing on a construction site and saw another man trespassing. asked him for directions and he said he doesn't know what geochaching is. poser. then we crawled through this tunnel made of shrubs and found a dead rooster. we then went back to where we parked our cars and found it pretty quickly. left a crystal ball for the next person to find.
TFTC. Been meaning to get this one for a while but always a busy road. Sunday morning, nice and easy. Thanks
Had a day planned caching in Long Bay Regional Park today, and had a little detour to locate a FTF on the way up.....had just got off the motorway and turned into this road when I noticed something amiss with the van...pulled over to the side of the road (right beside GZ) and a huge cloud of steam raced out of under the bonnet....after a little investigation...well a simple observation, as steam was rushing out the heater hose and all over the ground was soaked in water with a nice green tinge.....Sorted a plan, after an hour of phone calling and was waiting for a tow....so what do you do....check for any nearby caches....and what do you know, this one was 12m away.....well at least I was going to get 2 cache finds for today...a far cry from the planned 30 odd....

I came this morning as the sun was rising. Not a bad place for it, the sky was all shades of orange. Quick grab after jumping over the fence. TFTC
On a caching mission this morning with Keylev. I had mentioned that I wanted to hit 100 caches this week. Managed to get up to 50 so today was going to be the big one!
Was a quick park and grab. TFTC

As the clock was just about to hit midday, I was motivated to collect one more cache during the morning session and this happened to be the one closest to me. Made a short detour up Glenvar Rd, where I had to wait for a considerable amount of time to cross the road due to the seemingly never-ending hall of zooming cars -__-
With a break in the traffic, I wandered on over to GZ where I did a beautiful scissor kick over the concrete barrier, in hope of qualifying for the geocaching Olympics where I'd compete in the high jump event. Checked a likely spot, and there was the cache, which unfortunately didn't have a gold medal awaiting me for my impressive high jumping skills : ( Log was a little damp, but no worries TFTC Fudge2000!
Super keen to collect some more caches and head out on a trip somewhere, I decided I'd bus up to Long Bay Regional Park and collect some of my unfound caches around the area this afternoon. It was a nice day for it - Not too hot, not too cold and ended up collecting exactly 20 geocaches over the course of nearly 6 hours on foot! No wonder I'm feeling absolutely finished right now, and especially because of some of the demanding terrain in the regional park. Thanks very much to all CO's who made this an enjoyable day for me

#10,640. I have flown up for the mega event this weekend. Came early to get some caching done around Auckland. I was planning on doing the challenge caches in this area but East Coast Bays road was closed due to road works and so had to abandon that plan and instead do other caches in the area. This was one of them. Another very hot summers day in Auckland as well. Read the hint and that narrowed down the options. Had cache in hand in the first place checked. The logbook was dry and unable to be removed. So have added a fresh logsheet. Signed the log and returned the cache where found. Thanks Fudge2000 for hiding it here.
Found after a brief search, but managed to stab my hand on something during the search. The container has a broken lid and contained water (now empty). Didn’t attempt to fill the LB but took photo evidence if required. TFTC

Umm... well we didn't dump any rubbish anywhere but we did locate the cache. TFTC

First find! Funny learning curves, great fun with my partner!on to the next one
Found on the way home with flossieteacake. I looked where I thought it would be despite the GPS telling us that we were still 11m away. It appears that something decided to take a couple of bites out of this cache though. TFTC
Didn't find it last time we were here, and kept a lookout in case somebody else did.
On way home tonight parked up, climbed over the barrier (as per the hint) and GeohoundandI had it in her hand within seconds.
The GPS was 11m out directing us down the embankment.
Looks like rats have had a go at getting in to it.

Since I were the last to find this cache and there was 2 DNF after me I thought I would go and see if the cache was still in its place.....And yes the cache is still there in its location where the hint says. The grass has grown so need to get in there on your knees
Didn't find it, and almost lost Daddypig123 when he followed his phone's directions down the hillside.
NZ Travellers have a big milestone in sight and a cache they are aiming for so they need to get their numbers up a bit for the stars to align at the right time. A plan was devised to hit this general area and a bonus of an event today! Weather was foggy when we started but the sun came out and we had a great day!
The NZTs had already found this one but stopped for us to grab it too. Did not actually have to climb the structure as the arms were long enough.
Thanks for the cache.

Found whilst out with NZ Travellers and keylev.

I was quite restrained and decided this would be my first of the day. I soon located the loose container and added a fresh sheet of paper for a log.
Quite an interesting geocaching day for me today in a number of ways. First up I'm hosting my awarded Celebration Event at Long Bay after the Covid-spoiling one was cancelled at Hobsonville a while back. And that also means I get to attend/find my first cache-type of Celebration event, a new cache Icon. And best of all I get to meet the geocaching community up here in the mi8ghty Auckland area. I've cached here (in moderation) a few times over the last 13 years of living here in NZ, but never lived in the 'big smoke'. That all changed a couple of ,months ago and suddenly this target rich environment is starting to bear fruit (caches).
So, I was out of the house at around 0630 this morning with a wish to get some in before event a clock, which was all good as I managed a few finds early doors. All up today I managed just over 60 finds which was good, and after a misty start the sun attended and all was good, and hot. A D5 cache, meeting some new friends and a decent 15km walk was testament to a successful day, and a Silverdale Burger Fuel for a feed too, awesome-ness was experienced. I even managed to knock off the last few Smile puzzle finals to make my round face beam (geo-icon, not my real face!) T F T C all COs today.

Had to park down the road a bit and walk back to this one as we were on the opposite side of the road. Such a nice day today has turned out for us today. Container isn't in the best condition. Signed and returned to where we got it. TFTC
We came at this from the wrong way and parked down the road and walked back. Container is looking a little worn out but we found, signed & replaced back as found. TFTC
We didn't find any rubbish here, but we did find the cache in the first place we looked. The container has a few holes in it - probably rats! Log is very damp and we did our best to sign our names on the log, before returning it back where we found it.
Found the spot and the cache fairly easily, but the lid has been chewed into holes by something - probably rats. The inside is very damp and contains what looks like snail droppings. Added my name to the damp log, replaced cache as best I could for protection from the weather. Thanks for the cache.
Caching today with TheMexiKiwi and stopped by here. Unfortunately despite the sign, there was a lot of rubbish here today, and something had died recently as well. Found the cache away from the worst of it, though it was also looking well chewed and the log was reasonably damp, but still ok for writing on.
Nice view from here, shame about the dumped trash - TFTC

The cache need some TLC. Logbook is very dirty, and the container lid looks like it has been chewed on by rats.
I was in the area on another erand. Easy find thanks to the hint. The cache is wet and full of dirt. TFTC.
Found it after looking at the most obvious spot last. Mud and slugs inside...tried to sign but will probably rub off. TFTC
Bicycling trip again. The standard trip is over Torbay, and I just extended with visiting Albany, making the trip 60 km
One cache per trip, at the turning point gives the smileys on the map some extra significance. We will see how it goes.
Nice find,
Tftc.

Came here this arvo to grab this one to continue my daily streak (Day #313) Nice quick find along with a few gorse prickles. TFTC
Nice quick easy find. as per previous logs lid has hole inside is muddy n wet tftc Lokky1 August 8, 2017 12:09
It's a shame about this one. Awesome spot to park up and for a quick find but people have dumped huge amounts of rubbish and the smell of rotten meat/bones was enough for me to call it quits on the hunt.
Quick and easy park and grab. However it looks like rats or mice have chewed big holes in the lid and it's wet and gross inside needs some attention. TFTC
Granny found it simple and we found it hard. Seemed like rats had got to it. Never doubt a granny.
Wondered how long it would take to locate this one. However that was the least of my worries. It took longer to restart the car. I wondered whether I would need to call the AA and was contemplating a long wait when the engine burst into life after all. Phew! TFTC
Quick park and grab. Left a sheet of waterproof paper as a new log but it still needs a cleanout or a new container as it looks like a rat has chewed the lid. TFTC
We found it but didn't want to write over all the messages snails had left us. No rubbish here today.
There was no rubbish around but the cache is in a very sorry state. The log was so grotty and sodden we couldn't write on it. Some TLC needed here.
Nice quick find on a sunday afternoon. Parked up close and ducked in behind to retrieve. TFTC
Valentines Day! Great.... I have nobody to love.... so I was out caching instead! Didn't need to jump the concrete barrier, it was a great END to a story....
Tftc! Found it during a trip around the area, visiting New Zealand from Sweden. Nb the logg was wet!!!
The end of 2015 saw us take on a big couple of days of caching. At the beginning of the year, we set a goal of reaching 4000 cache finds by the end of the year. Towards the end of 2015, it wasn't looking too promising as geocaching got put a bit on the backburner for us as life and things happened. Come the 31st Dec 2015 and still needing a good portion of finds, New Year's Eve called for some binge caching in th North Shore to reach that milestone!
A nice and quick park and grab before we moved along to the next find. Thanks for the hide!

Decided to do a few more around our area. Hoping to make 50 today. Yep we are newbies. Found it
Out and about on the Shore this sunny afternoon adding finds to the talley. I attempt this one a few months bag, but with another car already parked at GZ I decided to just keep moving rather than attempt the find. Today I had the place to my self. Leaped the barrier and detected the cache in the first spot I checked for a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
First for the day after a 6am start at home.
Having a wee break in the North Island, heading north from the Airport toward Whangarei.
Thanks for effort put your hides.

Jumped over the hurdle and went in search of the most likely spots. Gorse and cutty grass playing havoc with the hunt. Stopped and decided to look at the view from further up- not much to been seen as bush has grown so high. Back down for an extended look and thankfully there it was ! Sorry couldn't place a proper log as have run out, signed the scrap and replaced. TFTC
