We are quite sure we had collected the correct information, but sadly have to declare a 'did not find' on this one.

We had not intended visit this cache today as we were taking the bus into the centre of Cambridge, but total gridlock meant that the only wise decision was to get off the bus early and walk into town, which took us close to Parker's Piece. The second waypoint was of particular interest to Jo, as it was a famous sportsman in a sport in which he has long been interested. Having calculated the coordinates the cache was certainly not a quick find, but whilst tying our shoe laces something was spotted which was then able to be retrieved.

An interesting spot to visit before we headed off to the heart of Cambridge.

During the day full of caching, it's always good to check the reality every now and then. So this lamppost really nails it! Thanks for introducing this well named thing and the surrounding park, we were happy to visit it! The final was also easily found, although required quite some waiting for a proper moment to grab it. Thanks for this nice little multi! Smile

Nice wander around Parkers Piece. Good for a beginner like me too!

Fab little walk around to get the digits needed and the final took a while but was found eventually. Been meaning to find this one for a while, TFTC.

Spent as long looking at GZ as we did working out the coordinates! Eventually the hint made sense and we got it. TFTC!

Holy cow! Ok so, i collected the clues and coords a few weeks ago while my family was in town waiting for 'the Big Weekend' fireworks, but by the time I finished my walk around the Piece it was getting dark and time for the show, so I tucked 'em away for later.

Today I went back for the GZ. I ambled around casually, not seeing an obvious hiding place, but LOTS of muggles. On my 4th lap or so, I started to wonder if my coords were wrong. But then another couple of geocachers moved in so I was reassured I at least had the right GZ. I opted to retreat for a while and let them have a go.

When I re-approached from across the way I spotted them chatting with a local fella who had been trimming his hedges. They left shortly after, looking disappointed.

After another amble, the same local approached me and said 'you won't find it. we've had people looking for about 2 weeks and nobody finds it.' I am now starting to get worried. Maybe it had been muggled? But I just couldn't give it up.

In the end, my persistence paid off. I still don't know what the clue meant, altho lots of ppl said it helped. What worked for me was tying my shoes... a lot! And in truth, the coordinates were bang on. So I don't know why it was such a struggle but was VERY satisfying in the end.

Very happy to have finally completed my first multi-cache! Tftc

I'm working in Cambridge today and came to this park as the trad here was the nearest cache which I thought would be easy.

I didn't read the info until I got there and with too many people at GZ I decided to have a look at this multi.

I had a very enjoyable stroll around the park gathering the required information but I had to be careful of all the bikes whizzing around!

Once at GZ I had a quick find thanks to the hint.

Today is the first day of our holiday in England. Early this morning we arrived by ferry from the Netherlands.

After spending the day sightseeing in Cambridge we decided to go for a little eveningstroll and do some more walking
It was a nice and easy multi.
And after this find we walk back to the YHA for our first night in the UK.

TFTC!

A third visit to Cambridge and, after starting this on our last visit, I was determined to turn this one into a smilie. I now knew the ‘seahorses’ I had counted last time were wrong (and were not actually the indiscriminate mosaic I had puzzled over). My excuse for not seeing the totally obvious seahorses at the waypoint is that there had been a training session going on when I visited here. So I hadn’t lingered on the veranda which is where I had needed to be as people were coming in and out. Anyhow, with help from the CO the answer had been worked out on our return home so we had the final, but we headed back to confirm for certain and also to get a picture at reality itself.

Sprout wanted to go off looking for Pokemon, so he headed off in the direction of the ‘fabulous toilets’ poker stop, which he later confirmed to be so despite costing him 20p to get in, and I headed to GZ. These things are always much easier when you are looking in the right place, but I was firstly mislead by the padlock on the opposite side before tracking down the much easier container. TFTC and the reality check!

Nice multi, we enjoyed exploring Parker's Piece.

This was a nice easy multi. Did it on a nice day, so the square was heaving and had to use a bit of stealth! Collecting the clues didn't take long at all and then it was only a couple of minutes walk to the final location. Cache was retrieved and log was signed without problem, despite the log paper being a little wet. TFTC

Exploring Cambridge and geocaching. My first visit to Cambridge. I walked over 15 kms today. All the WPs were easily found and answered and then it was off to GZ. As soon as a gaggle of noisy school children passed I made the easy find. TFTC the_local_echo.
