With the Andrew Daniel Coy series having met its demise yesterday, buhfuhguh and I hightailed it to the Emerald area to claim our finds on these puzzles that have had our collective blood, sweat, and tears poured into them before their corresponding containers get removed.Targeting pretty much exclusively ADCs, we walked away with three finds from the six we attempted in a pleasant, if slightly impromptu, afternoon outing.A very pleasant view looking outward from gz, although it seems the location itself has turned into something of a hangout spot with a couch nearby and various bits of rubbish crammed into the most likely hiding spots. It's probable that the cache was removed or dislodged in some way in the process, so we decided to leave it.A shame, given the D4.5 rating and many hours wasted piecing it all together with a deeply satisfying ending given it was the last, shall we say, canonical(?) ADC to be solved.Although the jumping jack ant that took a piece out of buhfuhguh didn't really seem to care about that, strangely. Thanks anyway, day1976

Without the support of the local reviewer or Geocaching HQ, I feel there is no point in owning hides anymore. I therefore am slowly archiving all my hides. Time for this one to go. Its been fun reading the logs.

YaHoo!
We have been looking and working on this cache since it came out but just could not get the right direction. Even during the Covid 19 lockdowns where we had plenty of time to think we could not get it all. We had some of the info but could not work out the rest. Our daughter visited the other day and we got her to look at it. In under half an hour she spotted something so obvious but we had missed it.
Not long later we had a set of coordinates and today we wanted to test them out. At GZ we pulled up and before we could start looking another car pulled up and two elderly people got out. You Gotta be Kidding! It took them about 20 minutes before they walked off after stopping looking at something in the different trees.
One they were out of sight the cache was very happily located in the 3rd place we looked and our name is finally in the log book.
Many thanks Day1976 for a tormenting puzzle and a hide in a nice area.

I signed the log for this cache a few months ago but hadn’t solved the puzzle at the time of finding it with another who had. It’s been sitting in my unlogged pile for some time now waiting for the time when I could log it once solved.

Finally after lots of brain bending time it is all complete. I must admit I did need a bit of a shove to get this one fully completed.

Lots of work has gone into creating this puzzle. Well done.

Thanks day1976 for the cache and for contributing to the game.

With the lifting of restrictions, I am enabling some of my caches.

07-Aug-20
Given the current State of Disaster declared in Victoria and the strict laws regarding movement around the state, I am disabling all of my caches within Victoria until restrictions are lifted.

13-May-20
As restrictions are beginning to ease, I am enabling some of my geocaches that aren't regularly found. I will monitor advice from government officials, geocaching HQ and the local reviewers with regards to enabling more or re-disabling these.

I cannot tell you how long it has taken for us to finally get this. Best I don't say here. Thanks for the puzzle and bringing us to this lovely location.

Cannot tell you how long I have spent trying to do this. Say no more as it possibly won't be polite, lol. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.

I finally managed to make head/tail of this one and solve the puzzle. Well enough of the puzzle anyway. The rest will bug me, but I'm trying to tell myself to move my focus elsewhere (aka another Andrew Daniel Coy). A favourite for the puzzle from me. TFTC day1976

Today Spiffy- his geokids and I headed out to collect some solved puzzles. I had worked on this on several occasions and found many of the decoys. Finalky I worked out something with a nudge from CO. Still it took some cracking to make sense. This cache was found quickly at GZ. Thanks to day1976 for placing this cache.

It had been a few weeks since Fleabag- and I had been out for a quick caching run so we decided to look for some solved puzzles and to eat at a nice bakery somewhere on the way and I also managed to talk all 3 geokids into emerging from the house into the great outdoors. Amazing!
I found a few decoys and so did Fleabag-. After a CO hint he then had some good looking numbers.
It was pretty cold today so GZ area was deserted and after a quick search the prize was in hand.
Thanks Day1976 for the cache, the puzzle, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I managed to get the solution to this one a while ago, but couldn't get there. After spending the night in the city last night, and having to drop my travelling companion in Emerald, I had to head back to Dandenong to look at a car for Geo girl, so dropped by on the way. there were muggles at 1 metre to GZ o arrival, so waited them out and soon had the log signed, and I was off again. Cache was in excellent condition. Also a few months of unlove here as well. TFTC

Love the images always makes me grin when I would now and again pickup this one to see if progress could be made. Like others in the series its not getting distracted by the red herrings which is the harder bit and to be honest it was Ahomburg who finally saw the checker say YES!! So today after finishing the NHL puzzle series we stop by GZ to sign the log. A nice hide in a lovely spot.Cool

Now to look at a few more of the series not already solved...

TFTC & puzzle day1976, this one must of taken ages to put together, much appreciated. Favorite.[^]

**Date: 16 July 2016 Time: 5:21 pm Find #7838**

After a big day finding the NHL's nearby with SedgwickDave, there was still some time for a few more nearby caches. This one had been solved a while back, but today was the first time in the area with time for a search. We circled about for a bit but eventually worked out where the container was hidden.

**Thanks to day1976 for the cache. TNLN**

I had spent some time over the last week or so trying to work through the Andrew Daniel Coy series as I knew we were planning a trip to Victoria this weekend. I got some help for a couple of them and had already solved a couple previously, and by the time we got on the plane we had six lined up to target today.
An interesting mix of red herrings, more red herrings, red herrings that were not red herrings next time, or was that last time?

In this case again I tried quite a few things. This one just scrambled my brain. But eventually after finding the mandatory school of red herrings we had a place to go and look.

This was the fifth one to try to find today.
Janet and I approached GZ together. Given the number she had found today and the number I had found I needed this one to re-establish cred.
I started looking in the places I thought it would be.
Janet just went and found it.

That's the 5th one found. Only one more left to target today.

Today we headed off to collect a few solved puzzles of which a number were Andrew Daniel Coy ones. It took a while for some and made we now need a holiday too. No muggles near by and we soon found the hide after a couple of looks. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

What a saga it was to solve this one . . . I've been working on it for over a year! We thought we'd sorted out the red herrings and were on the right path back in January. Then we hit a road block and just couldn't get any further. Vanessa&Aodh confirmed with the CO that we were on t the right track and that spurred us on to give it another try. Vanessa found the right tool to help with the final step and she cracked it a couple of weeks ago. Even with this new tool it took me ages to decipher and I didn't even do the whole thing . . . just enough to reveal those elusive instructions to get to GZ. I had this area to myself this morning and it was a beautiful spot to sit and contemplate how bloody hard this cache was!

Here for the Mega and out caching with Lgoody & roostaman.
So much variety in the caches and in the weather!
Very happy that we did not experience any rain to speak of.
Great to cache in a new environment.
Thank you day1976 for placing and maintaining this cache. Smile

Again continuing on our mission to solve these damn ADC series this sod i think was one of the hardest with the most involved so far. I had spent many hours on this one and after my recent surgery on a sport injury i had plenty of time to spare. Now this puzzle completely took the mind off pain of surgery which was awesome and that's the only thing i will thank you for on this one Day!! lol
My mind was going nuts and OzHockeyChick who had stayed home for a week to help me through was going crazy as well over this one. We tried many many different things to come up with just another red strike and another and another....And then looking outside the lines something came to my sight......and after a very sly , quiet unannounced input into the checker a green light flashed and i yelled for joy and celebrated with OHC on all our hard work of this solve.
We decided to head out and grab this sucker straight away and that we did. Slinged up arm and a short little walk we sat at the zone and absolutely admired the area and the view.
Thanks Day for the torture i mean cache Smile

This puzzle has been on the back burner for a year now. I'd tried some things that looked promising, but none of them had quite got there. I met the CO at an event on Saturday, and asked about my workings, and he gave me some clarification. Good clarification, thanks! I went home and spent some time trying to wrangle the answers and finally got there late last night. Great puzzle.

I love the pics too. I particularly like the ones where the guy has his leg cocked on the boat rail and the family in the matching red wetsuits where the dad has a sneaky little plait down to his shoulder. Groovy, baby.

GZ this morning was lovely: a really nice place to be. Thanks for the puzzle day1976. This is my 100th Unknown.

Possibly the hardest of the series. Determined to conquer the entire series, 88andy88 and I persisted night after night until we had them all solved.
A nice afternoon drive to a gorgeous place. Thanks for bringing us here day1976. Big Grin

Out and about today exploring the Emerald - Monbulk - Belgrave - Gembrook area. Just myself and the pooch Bentley Parker who had a ball. Started off super chilly however warmed up later in the day.

Being from Geelong I love this side of town. so lush and green, very therapeutic. Can't wait to come back do some more caches.

I worked on this puzzle over the past week and certainly the toughest so far. got to a point where I just hit a brick wall...where too now? Thankfully the CO was helpful. Started getting some key things together and tried what I had before deciphering more. Green checker - awesome! I have to wonder if these are actually the CO's own snaps?

i got his later in the day on dusk. A tad tricky but persistence got me there. An awesome GZ. adding this to list of to give favorites - now well and truly out of points. A great location that is a cool final to a tricky puzzle.

Cheers

We picked this one up in the company of Glanville Girls, McLookers and ST37E on a massive 2 day caching trip.
While out collecting the whole pre solved series (not solved by ourselves)
After hearing about all the work that went into solving this series it made us really appreciate them so much more.
Thanks to day1976 for the mystery.

My thanks again to Glanville Girls for solving. This was a really pretty spot. ST37E made the find. Thanks day1976.

Caching today with Glanville Girls, ST37E and The Tritonz chasing 7 different cache sizes and some tricky D/T caches.

Found in the company of Glanville Girls, McLookers & The Tritonz during day 2 of a massive weekend of caching, the solving of this one was a group effort, and it was definitely an effort, each of the puzzles in the series were quite varied and well put together, thanks for the brain workouts

When we arrived at GZ we started searching until I somehow stumbled on the well concealed hide

TFTC

A definite favorite from me

My interest was first piqued in the ADC puzzles about 6 months ago. As, at the time, I needed several of the D/T combinations to fill holes in my matrix (I have since filled those gaps). They are to date, my favourite set of puzzles. They were frustrating at times but ultimately solvable. Some were quicker solves than others. And decoys?? Oh My! Don't get me started.
This one was ridiculously insane! I worked my way through until I got to a point where I just put my head in my hands. Really Day?? Really??? Luckily I use a bit of this in my day job at a much lower level. But far out, how evil! It took me a couple of days to work out this step. But once it started unravelling it came out quickly. We were in the area today with McLookers, ST37E and The Tritonz on an epic 2 days that started on the sand dunes in Kilcunda (where I finished the last two in my loop) moved on to Emerald and the Dandenong Ranges, passed through the city and back to Ballarat. I'm tired and exhausted but ultimately happy to make the finds on these ones. Thanks day1976. Another favourite added.

We found this cache today at 4:15pm as number 2 of 10 on our Saturday Afternoon Saunter to Emerald. We were heading out today with the aim of finding a few of those caches that we had long since had the co-ords for but wanted to knock off of our list. After our exploits at the previous cache, we arrived at this one to find a couple energetically trying to see who could get their tongues the furthest down the other's throat and as it turned out, right above your cache. Our presence was enough to get them to move on. We are now wondering if you pay people to do these things at your caches and what we are going to see when we get to your next cache in this series. Thanks from D & A B-A.

Another one that I managed to find a lead fairly quickly and then it was obvious what to do. I never did get one bit but had enough to find the answer. A quick find today in another nice spot.

So...we meet again!
Like the puzzles that came before...started working on this one from day 1 (no pun intended)
Fiddled and poked it extracting numerous bits and pieces along the way.
Put it down, picked it up, threw it down, picked it up again....finally, 9 months later, a green light is born, yay! (Kind of like a pregnancy, eh?)
OMG... like the other ones...it's a long way from home.
Just right for a Sunday drive, it's a nice day and I can get a few others while I'm out there.
Arrival, GZ, no problem, I have the place all to myself.
Hide found, log signed, TB taken, cache rehidden and I was on my way to the next little braintwister.
TFTC (I think...)

Found with Trailrunning, on a short cache run due to work and familly commitments, we worked our way through a few more points on the Plantigrade Multi as we picked up other caches along the way. a tricky puzzle to work out. Thanks day1976 for the cache.

A short night out caching with Rebel Acts as we both had to finish up early. A great night to cache too. I had the right method to this one soon after it was published. It was only a matter of finding some time to sit down and nut it out. When I got the chance, the solution appeared quicker than I thought it would as I focused on a few words I thought might be there. Having not solved all of the puzzle I had enough to ge the final location, and tonight we were in the area, we made the easy find. Thanks

These caches really are screamingly funny.
The puzzles are pretty darn hard though, so it was good to break through here then have a good reason to take my wife and youngest son to a relaxing destination in the country. At shack henceforth.

If I had've completed my solution for this puzzle last night I could've picked up both Paparazzi and Holiday snaps at the same time and could've saved the trip out this way again. I didn't realise how close I was to solving it before, so working on it today it was only a matter of a few more workings then to try the checker and I had the correct coords for GZ.
Some of the characters in those photos are out there and I even got a laugh out of some of them. With an array of red herrings to sort through I began discarding some ideas straight away and after working through a few more, one seemed to be quite promising. Some of it made sense and some of it didn't but in the end I had some coords that looked good, and as it turned out, to be correct.
I'd planned to go out caching tonight so my first stop was to Holiday Snaps. It was pretty quiet on the roads so it didn't take too long to get to my destination. Another great location for a cache day1976, and I sat for a while in the dark and took in the peace and quiet before finding the cache.
A fav point and thanks for the puzzle.
