We were docked in Timaru New Zealand for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We walked all around the city and south along a trail along the ocean. We wound up with 15 caches and a complete Lab on the day on our 11-mile walk.Thank you to drawp for 4 of the caches, Dups16 and RAYZR for 3 each, and to the other 5 COs for their efforts and for the other 5 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creator for that adventure.#####################This Cache: Marbles shedded his backpack and "headed in". He fought his way around the "cabbages" and branches for a while and finally spotted the Hinted at item and then the cache.
Its easy when you look in the right place. A good safe place to hide a cache. Tftc
Today Beeba and I decided we need a bike ride to blow the cobwebs out of our hair. We found a car park on King St at the beginning of the track and Beeba realised she didn't have her keys to install the battery on her bike so back to Mum's. On our second try, we headed off to this cache and after a few minutes, Beeba found it. Luck that we had bike helmets on to protect us from the branches. For 1066 this was the third time lucky, the last time we looked was on 21/2/2015. We are so glad to finally have found the cache.
Not today. Lots of new growth and tricky to get to location off the track. To many prickles
This one took a bit of time searching in the bushes, but I got there eventually! TFTC!!
Needed to get the old cache nearby for a challenge so carried on to get this one as well. Thanks for placing drawp

Have wanted to turn this one to a smiley for ages, took a bit of looking but found it further in than we’d looked before, a little damp. Thanks.
After a hunt around I found it, but the log was very wet. I managed to sign it… just. I am enjoying the walk out here - plenty of bird life to see, and I’m getting in my steps for my virtual challenge. TFTC
On a quicky weekend getaway down to the South Island (from Wellington). I flew into Christchurch on Saturday morning, and then drove down to Timaru for the night. Drove back up to Christchurch Sunday afternoon and flew home late Sunday night. My goal was to catch up with a friend in Timaru, and to target a few specific caches that I need, and a few others just 'cos. This is one of them.
After a few specific caches elsewhere, our plan for the morning was to walk this walkway and get all the caches. We almost succeeded. I had one DNF, and due to poor planning and an unusual lack of commitment on my part we missed one. The rest were found without much trouble. TFTC.

traditional cache – small - 1.5/1.5
*Found with [Geooh GO](https://geooh-go.com)*

This was rather a bush bash through lots of not so pleasant natives. Lots of nightshade here - thankfully not too many prickles. Then a lot of hunting at GZ. The box was pretty wet. Could do with a new log, as the current one is turning to mush.. TFTC.
Found while out biking , no pen so not logged but photo taken , Track now fully open
On a trip down in the lower South Island with woolwood9.
We searched for a while to get the container found SL: **tm/ww NZ**
*Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit*
Very prickly area!

Work has sent me from Palmerston North to Timaru to get a new southern-most found cache!
Ok, they actually sent me to help relocate our branch office to a new location, but what they don’t know can’t hurt them right?
It's our final night in Timaru with staff coming into the new office for orientation tomorrow.
We finally finished setting up the office just after midnight. The boss and her assistant are absolutely shattered, but there's a load of rubbish in the boot of the rental car that needs to go to the skip bin back at the old office. I offered to drop them off at the motel and then deal with the rubbish, to which they sleepily accepted.
Mwahahaha! My evil scheme to find more caches is going to plan!
I dealt with the rubbish, and have just found Saltwater Creek Walkway as it filled a hole in my Jasmer grid.
After completing the logbook formalities and returning the container, I was ready for bed but stupidly looked at my phone and noticed this cache less than 200m down the path.
Despite it being almost 1am, I ate a Krispie biscuit ("just one more!") and postponed the appointment with my pillow...
Heading towards GZ, there was a security fence across the path and extending across the grass and into the bushes. It was obvious that people had not taken any notice as the fence panels had been separated allowing walkers to pass through.
I should have followed suit but my compass was pointing straight up the fenceline and into the scrub. Of cause, as soon as I got into the scrub, the needle swung to further along. FFS.
I exited the scrub and walked along the grass edge until the needle made sense, and then resumed my bushbashing.
After hunting for ~15min I was tired, getting cold, scratched, frustrated with an inconsistent compass needle under the tree cover, and all together over it...
I was half heartedly traipsing out of the scrub when the compass needle suddenly swung left. I blindly followed it, and soon came across the cache.
Right, no more tonight. It's 1.30am and I've got work at 8! (With breakfast in there as well)
Thanks for the new addition to my Stats!

Now is this pathway really shut or did they just forget to take the sign down? Quite a hunt in the overgrown bush for this one. Thankfully between FaceofBeaus gps and my googling we were able to find this. A few injuries on the way but always makes for a good story after. Thanks!
In Timaru for an overnights family adventure. Stayed the night in the Top10 ...up and atoms and packed up & time to head out to Saltwater creek for another family bike ride before heading back home. Boys loving the adventure. Cabbages galore? sure smelled like it! LOL. Plenty of Pittisporums too! LOL.
Luckily, my caching companion discovered a sensible way of getting to the cache site. Once there, I quickly tracked down the nicely hidden container.
Found a way in. Saw what looked like the hint but nothing there. Had a good search of the area but still walked away without a smiley. Seagulls mocking me from the other side of the water for crawling around their bathroom and getting coated in mess.
The cache didn’t take too long to spot once the GPS settled down. So many seagulls around today. TFTC.
In Timaru for work. Just over two years ago I was here doing the same thing, and walked these tracks. A few days later, my friend introduced me to Geocaching and now I can walk the track again with a new purpose! Shame about the smell from the dump Tftc
Found with StreetWalker on our Queens birthday weekend trip down south.
A bit boggy underfoot between the walkway and GZ. I supplied the botanical knowledge and armed with that information, SW soon located the cache. TFTC.

#15649. Second find in a row that involved cabbage trees, but this one was much speedier. TFTC.
Done may caches in both sides of salt water creek. Taking me 3 trips to do though. Tftc
I’m here for a week from Australia doing the great Southern scenic Trail. So far I have spent time in Queenstown, Te Anau, Bluff, Stuart Island and Invercargill. Met the lovely locals in Airbnb’s. Today I’m heading to Dunedin via the Catlins. Gorgeous scenery thanks for this cache.
In Timaru for the weekend and after lunch we ventured here for a walk before heading home. Walked past this one on our way to the beach so ducked in on our way back. A quick find and then a much faster walk back to the car before the pending rain. TFTC
Found 6 to 9 weeks back. Took a while to log. Nice cache, cool area. TFTC found with heyhaynz
After a wait of 15 months I finally managed to log the cache but my phone was playing up and stupidly I had not plugged the coords into the GPS earlier.... found with a bit of rooting about but as usual was in plain site. Cheers
Teaching Kiwitien the art of geocaching. This one was a bit of a struggle with a fading battery. TFTC.
A quick easy find on an enjoyable bike ride along the walkway. On the way we passed a group of people taking up close photos of a group of friendly llamas. TFTC
