Just having a bit of fun in the hills. Visiting Canberra for the Mighty Mega. A wonderful event! Many thanks Tankengine for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.
Loving this track. Another great spot of t a cache. Found with lorigus74 while visiting the GeoBash TFTC Tankengine
Went on a maintenance run with dty73 today. Refreshed cache, replaced log.Old log attached!GOOD TO GO!!!
After visiting Mt Coree today we decided to explore the back roads. Nice to pick this one up going past. Thanks for getting me out and about Tankengine
Although we had parked our car here, very close to GZ, we had decided to head by foot to another location, and to look for a trig station. We spent some time looking for the trig, but have to admit, that, despite a good search, we could not find it. That is historyand we are sure it was here in the past. So, back down the hill, and to GZ, where we found this hide. Thanks Tankengine Domsky
Find#5557Nice hiding place What a awesome day to be out in the Brindabellas Thanks for the cache
Out for a day of 4wdriving with some great peeps checking out the trail for the Geobash 4wd adventure. Such beautiful country to be exploring, and always great to get the Triton out on the trails.Heres to an enjoyable day out with onieferret, Minniek, GLISS! Isopeda, loci612, Darksidedan, Iamcoust, Flinstones, Domsky, Ozkeg, Toy Hunters, pantspeople, farmers5, Mrs Ozkeg, Jusosara, Tealby (and Im sure Ive forgotten someone). Signed today as 4WDTour. Thanks to everyone who made this day possible. Thanks for the cache.
I was out this way with the 4WDT testing the trip for the geobash next year. I would not normally get the chance to do something like this and I am glad i put my hand up to go.The log was signed 4WDT instead of writing a huge number of names including Nibletricecakes, MinnieK, isopeda, Flintstones, Toy Hunter, and a number of other cachers. Thanks for the adventure
Found with and signed as 4WD Team (4WDT) convoy which was a trial run before the Capital Geobash, a big thanks to jusojara for leading such an awesome tour around the Brindabellas! Quick find at GZ, you could almost get the cache from the window! TFTC TE!
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys or 4 Wheel Drive Tour to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
Last cache of todays four wheel drive sample tour. Log signed as 4WD Team, completing a 6 hour journey up and around many parts of Mount Coree, Namadgi and the Brindabellas. An excellent day out. This one could almost be a drive by, given its height and theoretical accessibility from a car window. A nice spot for one and nifty means of attachment. Thanks Tankengine --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Stopped 20 metres past the cache and walked back to it. Soon found the cache in an interesting spot, it looks and is hidden nothing like a Tankengine cache which was funny I guess it has been a long time since I found an old TE cache! We soon realised we could have almost grabbed this from the passenger seat of the car as we went past! However because the 4WD was so high, maybe it wouldn't have been possible. In a normal 2WD however, definitelty! Thanks Tankengine---Joined an almost 6 hour expedition today, starting / ending at Uriarra with a convoy of four 4 Wheel Drives & 17 geocachers! Huge thanks especially too Farmers 5, jusojara, nibletricecakes and OZ KEG for making today happen! Without your organisation & 4WD's it wouldn't have been possible! Signed as many logs as I could with Loci612, but was part of the "4WD Tour" which was also signed!
Coree Cavern multi was our goal, this cache was on the way. A quick solid find. TFTC
A ramble around the forest on a beautiful cool, clear day. I parked very close to the cache on the Old Mine Rd and enjoyed a quick find at GZ. Cache and log are in very good condition.
Thanks, Tankengine!
Thanks, Tankengine!
Camping at Blue Range tonight with my mates Ayrton and Ben. We drove up before cooking dinner to one of my favourite spots in the ACT with expansive views over Canberra. I always love driving up Old Mine Road - it feels very remote nestled into the mountains as you climb higher and higher. It's quite the drive in my 2WD Corolla 'rally car'.
We came up here in the evening to watch the sunset over Canberra whilst listening to Coldplay's new album - something which I have been saving for a special moment for over 2 months. A wonderful experience while watching Canberra wind down, the sunset glow becoming pinker and pinker and transitioning into blue hour. A bonus with a cache to boot! Thanks Tankengine.

TFTC Quick easy find today, thanks
Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

The sun was shining and the wind was certainly blowing. Time to check out that other parapet today, this time using some wheels to get up a little closer rather than starting from Brindabella rd.
Who knew TE did drive-by caches huh? Grabbed this one, left the car here, and started the hike up Genges Trail. TFTC. (for future cachers, all these roads are perfectly fine for 2WD)

Today, I teamed up with AngelG27 for a mini mission in the geounit meandering around in the forest off Blue Range Rd. A great day out with beautiful scenery!
Down we went over the undulations and after a few moments searching and then going back to take a closer look, the well hidden little thing was extracted
Thanks for the hide, Tankengine!

Cache 6234 on 13 Jun 2020.
Time for a mission! After a week of staring at my computer. It was time to get out and find some caches. SpecimenX had the same idea so we meet at 0800 for a fun filled day or driving and cache hunting. 15 caches found all up - more than I was aiming for. We drove Brindabella and Blue Range roads mostly. It was great to get some dirt, although we were happy to hit bitumen at the end - some of the roads were quite bumpy. A fun day out with lots of laughs!
After stopping for lunch, we headed down the hill towards civilization, but got side tracked by this cache. I looked in the obvious spot, but not well enough as SpecimenX came along afterwards and pulled it from the hiding spot - duh! Cache number twelve for the day.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun!

Found at 4:54 PM GAFF1 in the company of noikmeister and DogboyOz .
Last cache for the day and we were glad that we didn't have to go fully rummaging in there as you should see what sort of a mess there is [xx(]
Thanks Tankengine

A good 3km walk with superb views back over Canberra. A lovely afternoon with a welcoming breeze to take the edge of the heat. Lots of spiders in this hide. Quick and easy find. TFTC Tankengine.
Top views of Canberra from here .
Found the well hidden cache and scrolled a signature whilst taking in the views .
Many thanks to Tankengine.

I was happy to spend a day caching out west of Canberra with MinnieK and Fitzy1965. We headed out via the new set of Uriarah road caches, including the Starwars ones. Then we went up the ridge behind Cotter Reserve and finished the Paddys caches. Last was a trip in to the Bindebellas proper with a visit to Sherwood and finishing on Two sticks road. A fantastic day with a bit of fog but no real rain.
Thanks.

A planned day out with fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to collect some hard to reach caches. Headed out rather early and thankfully we did as there was a cycle race on down to Uriarra today. Met Binliner heading in the opposite direction. Once at the end of ALL7's series it was clear sailing around the Bullen Range and beyond. 22000 steps later we were utterly exhausted but certainly had a fun day. Most logs signed as AMF.
So much for a driveby - they even made me get out of the car!! Also thought I broke it when it came away from its hide....but all good, just a clever way of securing lol

The first time I tried to claim this cache (many years ago I might add) the road to it was blocked with a really big burm but on subsequent trips I noticed the burm gone but as I was on Rally duties never had time to stop.
Today on a drive I had the time so detoured and made a quick find. I'll come back for the other one later - TFTC

This morning I focused my caching on the south western part of the area north of Brindabella Rd and south of the border. I explored the back roads through the forest picking off many of the caches on the way. A fun drive up Pabral Road, along Two Sticks road, then down Blue Range Rd to this cache. A quick find here. TFTC.

Out with Delta Response Team, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer for some caching. Quick find by AddictedGamer. A really nice area up here, with nice roads to follow. Glad we were brought out this way. TFTC!!!
A quick find in the obvious spot. Looks like I cleared out all the spider webs for the next finder as well, not long after I had moved on. TNLNSL TFTC
Was out with dty73, DRT and AddictedGamer for a few out of the way caches and to test out DRTs new car. Good little spot to pull over and no wonder they pulled the cache out without hesitation with a finder just this morning to clear the webs! With the clearing of the trees the views are pretty nice from here too. Thanks for the cache Tankengine, must say some of the caches up this way are easier than the ones on hills in the suburbs, can't drive to those ones!
Headed out with Aquilus1, dty73 and, AddictedGamer to test out my new car.
First cache of the day and a nice easy one before walking to the nearby cache up the hill. AG found this one nice and quickly

Found with Dty73 , Aquilus1 and DRT. we had found this in a couple of seconds read dty73's log for more TFTC!!! bit of a hint (magnetic)
Decided it was about time we explored this area and thanks to a couple of caches to help motivate us it was out the door. Some great views out this way and plenty of fun Undulations to go up and down. Cache was easily found, well after the cobwebs were removed!
Really recommend the drive out here, the road can be conquered in 2wd in good conditions and views are spectacular in places!
Thanks for the cache Tankengine

Found with JohnnyBoyACT and two muggles on a Canberra Bushwalking Club trip. We started walking from the Blue Range Road to the east. I had several maps of the area with me however each map had roads marked in different places and there were roads marked that no longer existed. After finding a suitable track we ambled (not drove) to the caches. I remember those unremittingly steep tracks from previous walks in the area. TFTC.

On a nice morning walking the geopups doing a few caches that are a little out of the way. Tftc.
Found at 3:10:00 PM
We came out to pick blackberries and I decided to drive up and pick up this cache too. It was upon returning to the car that I found I had a flat tyre.
Cache was found easily and in good order.
Thanks Tankengine

Found @ 10:35am with hccatcher11415, Shadow! and Goo67 to celebrate 10 years of caching for Shadow! and me
Time for a spot of 4WD caching and this was the first cache of the day - a nice easy find once we cleared away the cobwebs!

One of six caches found today with allrounder, hccatcher11415 and Goo67 to celebrate my 10 year caching anniversary with allrounder - who would have thought that after poking around in the rocks to find our first cache near Yerrabi Pond (The Tale of Sir Galahad) we'd still be doing it!
Thanks to all the hiders over that time and thanks to you, Tankengine, today!

Out on a 4wd trip with allrounder, Shadow! and Goo67 in the area of Uriarra and Pierces Creek today we couldn't go past the odd cache find (6 in total), this was the first. Some great driving tracks in these areas and while I was concentrating on the driving we had plenty of laughs with Shadow! and Goo67 smacking heads in the back seat and allrounder hitting the roof as we went over the bumps. A fantastic day out and about. My favourite type of caching.

8787 + 1000 = 9787. Found after a nice fun drive through the forests with Stardust2410 and AwesomeL.
With a few spare hours today we headed out Cotter way to grab some not so often visited caches. After The Poor Cousin we drove back to this one. Yep ! Its a drive-by ! Signed, returned and we headed off up the trail to the next one on our list.
Thanks Tankengine !

3460. I stopped by this one on my way out. The hide had heaps of extra silk camo on it and I missed it the first time thinking that TE was playing with my head. But it was there all along. I just needed a stick to clear the extra camo.
Thanks TE for the cache. I still cant get over the fact that this IS a drive-by and had no blackberries.

A drive by!!!!!
Well, from past experience, I was NOT going to go for this cache with a wet/muddy road. Things can get pretty exciting - AND MUDDY! (My car handles it quite well with its traction control, but it is very exciting, car gets covered underneath and in the wheel arches with MUD). But I prefer to avoid the excitement.
So, I wait for a week for the road to dry out, and up I go. The road was mostly firm with just a few corners in the shade a bit slippery - sideways slide even at low speed - but I carried on and up, turned down the side road, did a u-turn, and well, it was "almost" a drive by. When I did get out, I thought I was at the airport, the WIND was howling through the trees. Thanks TE. Nice hide.

**FTF** at 12.20 with Agent Basil and Wing6Rider.....
Our plan was to come out here today and grab a couple of Weird Weirs, and when a few new caches were published, they were added to the list........... and this was first detour. After driving along roads travelled before, we soon arrived at GZ and took to the hunt...which didn't take all that long as the cache was in an obvious spot.....always like that.
Log was opened to reveal no one else had venture out yet, so all was good.
That makes two Uriarra Undulations and two first to finds. Any thoughts on a 3rd TE????
As for the WW caches....well, we didn't quite make them, so another trip is on the cards......
Thanks for the fun.....

Joint FTF with Sol de lune and Wing6Rider. The 3 retired (inc semi retired) cachers were on a day mission to this part of the Brindies. We departed Deakin at 10-ish and we wondered whether any other FTFers would be out and about. The weather forecast was ordinary so we thought we were in with a chance. Blank log book greeted us so all was good!
It just happened that this was our target area for the day so, it was a matter of timing whether we would get the FTF. Sure enough a blank log and joint **FTF** with Agent Basil and Sol de Lune. The first of two for the day! Thanks Tankengine drivebys are always welcome if only to has a short leg stretch!
