Matt, on 25/7 I received your note that the cache needs repair. I have constructed a new container that will, hopefully, be rain-proof and all is good to go.

20-Jul-24
Gave this a good go with Baristayan for a good half hour but came up short ??

Another Dnf today. We couldnt find it, not even after multiple messages seeking help, and a good 30 mins search ?? wonderful locationI would have favourited it if found

Wow, for some reason the GPS went crazy here but thankfully it settled down enough to enable us to locate this cache.Unfortunately I was unable to remove the screwed up log sheet from the container so left our signature on a small piece of paper we had on hand. Many thanks for the cache Tony&AnneOwner maintenance recommended

16-Sep-23
Found a soggy log with Luca.

11-May-23
There was only a very small reason why I found it. The log was too soggy to get out to sign sadly.

Also, there were way too many spiders for any arachnophobes out there. ️️

18-Dec-22
Afraid camo too good for me

06-Nov-22
Sneaky but cool

07-Jan-22
Couldn’t find the path and the entire area seemed flooded out…

26-Nov-21
Another calendar finds day today... 15 just isn't enough, right? Right!
Decided to head south to Wollongong and finally pick up an old puzzle that I solved so long ago I can't remember how I did it! And my scant cache notes don't overly help.

Got seven physical finds plus all the locations of an Adventure Lab. And thankfully the rain (mostly) stayed away.
Aaaaand only one DNF!
An enjoyable day while the Geowife is busy and I'm free to go wither I desire!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Started here, and quickly found a path leading to a steep descent to a strongly flowing creek.
The iPhone was pointing to a logical spot - which I eventually saw matched the hint - but nothing spotted. Broadened the search - including hopping over the creek (three times), but after 30 minutes decided I needed to move on.

Nice to meet the CO of this one. Nice little park and grab. TFTC

06-Oct-21
That was a tricky find for sure, tftc!

26-Sep-21
After looking in the wrong place for an hour, and a hint from Beckatoza, we finally found it! TFTC

18-Sep-21
Awesome hide. Make sure you have insect repellent if the mozzies like you. Log is a bit damp. The gps bounces round here.

18-Sep-21
Great cache thanks for the hide! Just had to keep looking Found with Beckatoza

28-Aug-21
One of those ones that you know is there, you’ve just got to keep looking.

24-Sep-20
Well that was in no way easy! Mainly due to using my phone as a gps that was getting no signal which had me in the wrong damn area! Tftc! I might stick to mint tins for a bit haha

20-Jun-20
Was initially going to attack this from the Uni side as I was in there at the time, but there was a lot going on around the carpark area, so opted for the outside attack, which in the end was the better choice. After meeting the CO earlier, they gave me a little extra teaser hint. But the “path” that was mentioned was pretty much indistinct, and when I eventually got to the GZ, the hint pretty much pointed to a completely different possibility. After stumbling around for a bit, using the teaser hint I was given made me look in a different spot. Bingo! But certainly not what I was expecting considering the hint on the page!

Helping my daughter move. She has been living a couple of streets away and I always think, I'll get that cache and day, but never quite get around to it. Today's her last day here and she's running late. So I took the opportunity to give it a go. Sadly I had no luck. Oh well.

20-Dec-19
Cheeky find

31-Aug-19
Mum found it after a bit of searching. Path is not used much anymore so rather secluded.

25-Aug-19
Took a few minutes to find as the etrex was unsettled. Then noticed something that looked like a geocaching hide. Log was a little damp but writable. TFTC

hmmm this was tough , and so many options for such a small container.. listed as micro but probably a small one, GPS wasn't too realiable but it appears up is better than down.. thankfully our effort paid off
Day 3: visiting the OzGeomuster event, traveling with StrangeTrousers and CBRChic , signed as Kayak Cachers stamp.
While picking of some of the Adventure lab locations we picked up some caches along the way
thanks Tony&Anne

2nd Mega evet and first one away at the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Highlight for today was the group visit to the “Dark Side of the Moon”. Most of the caching today was with my geo buddies mtrax and StrangeTrousers. Need to say a big thank you to StrangeTrousers for all the driving over the weekend and arranging the great accommodation for a group of us. Today was the third day of our Mega event and hightlights included Cully Long’s Puzzling seminar before heading out to go caching. ST would have mentioned the rainforest gullies – after the cold of Canberra it was so funny standing under plants that in Canberra were the size of pot plants and here they are bigger than me. We found some fun cachers got to enjoy the seaside ones and views near the water at the end of the day when parking was easier.

#5242 7th for today

Day three of the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Caching with mtrax and CBRChic and various others. We started with Cully Long's Puzzling seminar and then headed out to grab some more of the Adventure series. Today we traveled around Wollongong proper grabbing some really cool caches. Some highlights were delving into temperate rainforest gullies and some wonderful sea-side caches,

Jungle.

3rd time lucky. I really made it harder than it had to be. Had a huge lizard who was guarding the cache launch itself straight at me as I disturbed it's home. Thanks for a creative cache. TFTC

Needing a cache for the day to keep my streak alive, and knowing I’ll be at the Uni all day for my kids dance concert, prior to the concert I made this find, in the wet and rain and mud.. haha
Log book is jammed in the cache, photo as proof if required..

OCW lok212325 and Rodney1210. I felt like I have time travelled back to a prehistoric period whilst I was walking amongst the mammoth trees and fronds and leaves. This hide had us all over the place. We did the obvious thing and went for the beacon but it wasn’t to be. We checked and double checked and triple checked said beacon, sure it had to be there. Expanding our search area, Rodney finally discovered the cache. This one was certainly a challenge for us to get to and from! Thank you for an adventure. TFTC!

21-Oct-17
OCW Lok212315 and Coastblue on a day trip in the Gong. By far the hardest cache of the day. Carefully made our easy down to the creek and followed it to GZ. Once there we set about searching. With so many possible hiding spots it was a massive task. We were climbing trees, looking in holes, and scrambling up hills. Finally after at least 20 minutes of searching I came up with the goods. Cache# 497 TFTC

21-Oct-17
Had a great day out caching with coastblue and rodney1210.

This one had us going through bush to try and find it.
Rodney1210 geosenses were in fine form today.
He found this one in a tricky but very cool area.

Off we go for another geomission! Big Grin fitzy_1965, AngelG27 and I were off in the geomover to descend on the Illawarra region to knock off the Helensburgh puzzle series and whatever others we could nab along the way. Sunny spring weather and lots of laughs made for a fun weekend of caching! Smile

Jeez this was a tough one for us! The GPS was not playing nice so it had us searching here, there and everywhere! We searched up, down, under, over and along! It wasn't until fitzy checked out a spot that I'd searched twice before he came up with the cleverly camoed hide. Had me a little stumped how I managed to miss it! Wink Saw a cute water dragon whilst searching!

Thanks for the hide, Tony&Anne Big GrinCool

14589. Found during Day 2 of a great weekend caching down in the Helensburgh / Wollongong region with specimenX and AngelG27.

A long planned weekend was finally here. Yesterday we finished off the Scouts and Helensburgh puzzle series plus a bunch of other caches. Today we generally moved south during the day grabbing some quality caches along the way. This was the next find for the day. Nice to grab all the Uni caches on a quiet Sunday ! Well -
this one took quite a long time. GPS favoured one area which I kept going back to with no luck. Finally widened my search and came up with the little blighter ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, and we were on our way to the next one.

Thanks to all the CO's for their caches - very much appreciated !!

Cache 2913 on 3/9/17

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a long planned geomission to Helensburgh and Wollongong to grab a stack of solved puzzles and as-yet-uncollected traditionals. We headed up the highway from the ACT to Appin, then down the hill to Helensburgh and then made our way south. We have around 160 caches on the list, but managed to grab 90 odd yesterday. Looking to grab stacks of trads today on our second day of the mission. Unless otherwise indicated, caches were found quickly and in good order. Thanks to my geo partners in crime for a fun weekend

Thanks Tony&Anne for the cache!

Nice little hide, didn't understand the hint though? Maybe the camo has been disturbed. TFTC!

27-May-17
Not a spot you'd expect to visit at uni. TFTC

18-Apr-17
Found it. Not a fun one.

12-Apr-17
Wow! A tiny pocket of wilderness. Take a moment to sit and listen to all the birds here when visiting this cache. I found what I thought was a holey tree, but found nothing. Expanded the search area and paid attention to the clue and the cache was in hand. This one gets a favourite from me because of the birds. Tftc!

25-Feb-17
I looked in a few spots with no luck so I was on my way to try what looked like another likely spot but then found the cache on the way over.

Mice little hide. Pretty spot. Thankyou for the cache

16-Dec-16
Northbound this afternoon and though I would turn this into a smiley. Not the best time to do this one after all the rain. Just like a small rain forest and slippery too. The GPSr kept taking me back to the same place each time and it sort of lined up with the clue. However after widening the search I was getting a bit disapointed so I decided to PAF a previous finder for some guidance.
Turns out he was at the Uni and was free. So he came around and offered some guidance in the form of a much better approach to GZ and after a few moments I realised where it was hidden. Signed the log and visited a TB. TFTC Tony&Anne.

Mozzies = Yes
Leeches = No

Well we nearly gave up on this one... but right at the last moment CIH. TFTC. visted with GeoCoin. Found with WooTownCrew

13-Aug-16
What an adventure! All the clues seem so obvious once Cache is in hand...but like others, we came in from the wrong side & bushwacked through, fighting the mossies & eventually finding GZ moments before giving up! TFTC

06-Jul-16
The hint makes a lot of sense now Nearly fell in many times Could have easily been missed TFTC

06-Jul-16
OCW P2015 and BTM today after visiting the grandparents. Took the obvious route to grab this one. Followed the hint but with the GPS not settling, I moved to a more obviously clear spot. Got it to settle and moved towards GZ only to find the GPS unsettled again so went back to where I was previously. Something caught my eye and had I been paying attention the first time, we would have been out of there 10mins earlier. TFTC

23-Jun-16
Took far too long and got way too dirty, but it was awesome fun. Cache hide was very sneaky, nearly missed it

08-May-16
FINALLY ! Our 3rd visited here ! Detoured here on our way home from a Mother's Day picnic at Bald Hill. We had a big hint from the CO (I think they felt sorry for us) but it still took ages to work out exactly where we should go. Turned out we had visited GZ last time, but from a different direction. So nice to get a smiley on this one at last ! SL TFTC Tony&Anne

30-Apr-16
Finalf29 was war-gaming down at UOW, so I thought I could do a bit of geocaching in the area. Ended up getting fourteen from nineteen. Had a great day but did miss my geocaching buddy...I had to deal with all the spider webs myself!

This was my fourth for the day. I followed a path in from Dallas St and then my GPS had me going all over the place. After a few Indiana Jones moments I found another path on the other side of the creek. My GPS settled...I'll just check there...found it! Easier walk out. Thanks

TFTC Smile found!

No luck today.

18-Jan-16
Had another go at this one today while visiting the Spirit of ANZAC at the Uni. The GPS had us further down the hill than last time. Found something that matched the hint but still no cache ! I hate DNF's !

Stopped by here on our way home from lunch at Sublime Point. Took a while to locate the path, spotted an echidna but no cache.

20-Sep-15
Mrs H spotted this one whilst I walked straight past it. Lots of birds in this little bit of bushland. We saw black cockatoos, bower birds & crimson rosellas. TFTC

Found with Melly & Leon after a visit to the area. Was a bit hard, the gpsr played around under the trees.

Thanks Tony&Anne

Wombat the Anthus Laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runciple's Grasshopper and his little brother, a tassie trekkers pathtag, a sweet & sour pathtag, a grannysmith pathtag, a geo achievement 500 cahes award, an F14 Tomcat, a sctoch and sode, a monkey, a christmas tree, a vespa,a boomerang, an a lizard oh, and a bundle of keyrings that I have collected since caching in WA in August 2013 (current count is 25)

Done. Last one for the day. Follow the hint, makes it easy

25-May-15
Was out geocaching with Logger3000. Getting dark, still in my work clothes (didn't want to get them too muddy etc) so no luck this time.

05-Apr-15
Crashed through the mud, battled the mosquitoes but sadly didn't win. Another day.

15-Feb-15
After "Uni Break - Final" I figured I may as well do a few more caches around the Uni because it's Sunday which will keep the muggle factor down and make parking easier. So I headed here and parked at the "Creative Arts Car Park" then did some pointless and quite brutal bush-bashing to GZ.. or to about 33M from GZ which is all my eTrex would give me. Walked out from undercover to let it get its bearings then continued searching around for Quite Some Time. Given earlier today I had ticked off two previous DNF caches, both of which were really a lot simpler than I had made them, had me feeling very determined. Reading some previous logs had me narrowing down the search area until finally I made the find. Very tricky and all the while being attacked by a million mozzies, but surprisingly no leeches. Huge number of lizards around here though! TFTC.

03-Jan-15
Easy enough if directions are followed

10-Nov-14
Coming from Southern Highlands today, the weather didn't look that great.
Luckily it was only overcast down here, so I was able to claim some finds [:o)]

Attempted this last week as the rain was setting in.

This time I came prepared. and by prepared I mean I came with A CAN OF AEROGUARD.
Just like a previous cacher I bush-bashed last time, when there was a perfectly good track.

Dooh!
Fought some decent sized creepy-crawlies at GZ. Replaced. Onto the next.

Thanks for the cache Tony&Anne. Good trek.

18-Oct-14
Again we've come up empty handed. This time we approached from the other side (so much easier), but again we were foiled by the mozzies, they just love us. Not saying we are giving up just yet.

Was worried about holiday muggles who had built a fort nearby but it was abandoned. Looked in all the obvious places before the GPS narrowed in on somewhere not expected. Loved the hide. TFTC

09-Jul-14
Sneaky little find before work. In my work clothes and everything! TFTC

05-Jul-14
Second fail at this one. Too tricky for me! Maybe it will be a case of third time lucky? LOL

09-Feb-14
Discovered this adventure cache on UOW Discovery Day.
Great location but
At one stage I was standing on what could be bat wings spanning over mosquito infested water with my head a holely tree looking for a cache and anything else that like holey trees. After this 10 minute experience there is no way I was leaving without at least calling a friend.
Two calls later I was on the right track and found a tricky cache in a much smaller holey tree.
The container was too small to leave a star to shine but the experience definitely scores a fab point.
Thanks tony and anne.

18-Jan-14
Very tricky sneaky hide!

12-Jan-14
ARghhhh the mozzies....we entered from the wrong side I think. Searched and searched but no luck, will try again another day.

29-Oct-13
Found in its little sneaky hide!

26-Oct-13
Very tricky

25-Oct-13
Like many others my first attempt was fruitless and on the wrong path. This time was much more successful. The GPSr was also much more stable. TFTC

I had more trouble finding the path from the uni carpark than finding the cache.
Log book is becoming a bit fragile.

I liked the hide, very clever. Thanks T & A. Keep 'em coming.
