Found on the way past today grabbing some caches while touring around. Nice area here, cache was soon in hand once at GZ. All good here.Find #6521 on 31 Dec 2023.TFTC Sioux's Tribe!SAs Leap Year Event - GCA1DNA - Feb 29th, 2024. Keep the date free!
With the chores out the way, it was time to head into the hills for some caching. Todays targeted cache was near Blackwood - The mines of moria. Parking at Dale Road, I opened todays account here at Drop Zone, a nice walk down and back up again, to find a nicely crafted cache nestled in the tree. A shower of rain swept through after signing so I waited it out, then walked back. I past a good location for looking over the passing trains. I looked at the Mines of Moria dot, and determine it is not near enough, and best to access it from the other path. Sad mistake. I head back to the car and drive to the other side of the valley and aim for the remaining three.
Thanks for this cache Sioux's Tribe, find #8436 at 11.19am. Cache in good condition.

Well that short walk got the lungs working.

As per my found log, the logbook here has been soaked through in recent rains and is in need of replacement!
Having not read the notes to approach from Eurilpa St, or consulting the topographical map that would have also advised me otherwise, I decided to approch this one from the carparking at Baeckea Pl, so that I'd be parked in a central location to also grab the two other easy traditionals in nearby Ashby reserve.
Of course, this necessitated traversing the steep gully to make my way to the cache, however the view was worth the trek, and I enjoyed the camo used here.
Unfortunately, the recent rains in the area have saturated the log making it difficult to sign, but I managed it.

Have removed the residents and replaced the log book.
The easiest walk to the cache is from Eurilpa St, no steep hiking that way.

Easy find and GC lid off. Snails had a lovely meal consuming all pages & wasn't able to sign. I didn't realise the rail track Freight train was sooo steep see photo.

After an appointment south of the city decided to go a lit bit further south for some caching. Main aim was a walk in the Watiparinga/Ashby Reserve after some traditionals, and anything else that looked like it needed to be found. Ended up finding 8 traditionals and a couple of puzzles but also had a DNF on another puzzle
Last found today but not last looked for, nice work on this one.
Thanks to Sioux's Tribe for putting this cache out here for me to find.

TFTC. Found just after "Mines of Moria" cache. Was able to watch a freight train for several minutes just before finding this cache.
Great use of camouflage

Clever! The cache lid has a resident snail attached, who I was careful not to disturb. Great hide!
A short walk down the hill to this one, a nicely hidden cache.
Today I set out to clean up around brown hill creek and find all the caches within close range, I soon realised I had a lot of the day left so continued on with Hawthorndene and then around Watiparinga Reserve. All in all 13km walked and 31 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Nice quick one for the first find of this new account. Loved the camouflage!!! TFTC
I tagged along with hevwalker and LiB as they had planned for some hiking around Mitcham, parking in Ashby Reserve. The plan was targeting the Hills Hideway (sp.) cache due to its 2001 vintage, but then to collect caches around the area.
After completing a nearby cache, we walked along the marked path to this one. It had nice rock camouflage, but seemed rather open and exposed, and so was easy to spot upon approach. If there were other rocks in the hide area, it would have worked nicely, but it just didn't seem right at the moment. Contents and logbook in good shape, thanks Sioux's Tribe.

LiB, Davidwazza and I came up from the bottom... having just come from "Hills Hideway" and "The Mines of Moria" so we continued to this cache...the hard part was already done...
The saw the train going past on numerous occasions on the way...
A nice quick find in this beautiful park...

Found with Davidwazza & hevwalker after a heck of a walk from the creek. The hardest part of the walk now behind us, this was an easier walk to and from this find.

After failing at the nearby 'caves' cache (well it hasn't been found for two years) we had better luck here & the cache was soon found with coordinates spot on. It took two of us to undo the container, I was worried that the camouflage would break away but it held firm. We lost our pen on route so were unable to sign the log.-------TNLN--_------TFTC
A short walk down the hill and a quick find [8].

Didn't realise how close this was to the line until a train came past .

Came the long way here. Glad for a quick find in this picturesque part of the hills.
Nifty little hide container. Not sure its exactly where you intended it as was easy to spot today. Lovely walk through a beautiful reserve. Tftc
Adelaide Trip September 2017. Day 4. Today I did caches at Eden Hills and Brighton with a few in between. I spent lots of time in this reserve as a kid, mostly on the next ridge over, but here as well. It is fun to re-visit so many years later for caching.
Thanks.

We were on our way to another cache so of course we had to stop and get this one on the way past. [^]

We headed out with Anymules today to share some quality caching time. This was the first one that was done after taking Wayne to two caches that have a little nit of a rep. This cache was a walk in the park compared to them. SL TFTC
Another day of dropping my daughter off at Flinders Uni and being free to cache a few hours away. [8d] Time to try and get a few more of the caches in the Shepherd's Hill park that I didn't get to last week. [^]
Had considered walking over from the Mines of Moira yesterday but it looked a bit steep. Much easier this way. Thanks Sioux's Tribe.

TFTC. Third cache for today and 2016! Such a clever camouflage but needs a bit of TLC. Found with geoson and some unofficial cachers.
Introducing American niece, Isabella, to caching. Swapped a Shell for a remodelled 29c piece
After Mr Tardis left our little group Mattycat and Mr frog changed directions and called in for a search for this one, a quick find on this one being wary of potential drop bears TFTC Sioux's Tribe
What a beautiful spot we could live here, in fact we just might do that we're up here to look at a house so who knows what could happen. Thanks Sioux's Tribe for bringing us here. Tnlnsl TFTC

Had a pleasant walk through an area of the hills I haven't been before - will return soon to get the caches I missed. Great location. TFTC Sioux's Tribe!
A quick and easy walk by after taking out a FTF earlier in the afternoon. I love the decoration/camo on the cache. TFTC
A quick find in a gorgeous location. Dropped off a trackable belonging to entropyharvester... not sure how to log it into/out of caches with only that QR code...! TFTC

Ismartis was scouting around this general area and needed a cache for the day so this one turned out to be quite convienent. It was an interesting cache set up with some interesting balls near the cache. I wasn't sure if they were part of the cache set up or not at first, but tested them out and they were

Found whilst in the area caching with Laighside Legends Haha, didn't expect this whilst reading the name, but it was funny all the same! TFTC!
Found It!
Bit of an unusual cache but it didn't take us too long to find it. Getting the lid off and then back on was a little bit of a challenge though!

Very funny and very clever, I like the effort you put into making this cache. Kookaburras were laughing and it was beautiful weather at dusk. Only problem was that the roads leading to the cache were labyrinthine and hard to navigate to in the dark. TNLNSLTFTC
The locals were out trimming branches ready for a back burn - or something. Perhaps working off their lunch [?] Don't worry, they were no where near the cache. No branches or fine stuff around it to attract them. Love this spot.

Mr Tardis had a nice short walk down the track in another part of the reserve that I hadn't explored before. A great final container complete with a lizard who was guarding the cache.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Sioux's Tribe.

Dropped off (get it?) couple of small swaps, took nothing as the cupboard was bare. Disturbed a small gecko in the hide... TFTC.
Decided to grab a few of the caches around home. Nice view of the storms coming in and it was a bit windy - clever camo. TFTC.
Found it nice and easy. Great views. Cool hide. Left Help for Heroes Geocoin
