Today is the fourth and final day of WAGB 2024. TaurusSix and I created a general plan about how we would focus our geocaching time today, to make the most of the day. We decided to focus on collecting our most different types of cache finds in a day statistic . Our record is currently seven and we figured by leaving unfound all the different types from Augusta and a few back up the highway we could make eight . This also would mean we could collect the long outstanding challenge cache in Busselton which was requiring for five different cache types in one day prior to collecting the challenge itself . The day commenced well as we had saved one of the Adventure Lab elements knowing we would need it for today , followed by a multi, then a traditional that we had saved for today then on to the final event for four days of WAGB. During that we collected a near by Letter Box, which even though it was technically a night cache, with a little bit of improvising we were able to locate it. After that it was back down the coast to the tip to pick up an earth cache and a virtual cache. We then left Augusta to hit the highway and stopped to pick up a small stretch of puzzle caches on the Wadandi Track just north of Witchcliffe. With eight types of caches under our belt we collected a few more stragglers around Margaret River before heading to Busselton to collect the aforementioned challenge another couple of puzzles and a really tricky Pood cache that has had us stumped for quite a while, we were super happy to finally find that. All in all a wonderful long weekend of geocaching before making our way back to Bunbury. This was our fifteenth cache find of the day and one we have had our eye on for quite a while . Once we knew there were plenty of different cache types of the Augusta WAGB event we hatched our plan to claim the cache today and we have succeeded in collected eighth different cache types. Thanks for the challenge cache.

I came over to WA last year for WAGB 23 and had such a great time so I decided to come back over again for this years events in Augusta. So after all of the planning with dates worked out my work decided that I could only have one week off so flying over was my only option. So I flew into to Perth and my first stop will be Busselton for 2 nights. It has been 47 years since I was in this part of WA and Im really looking forward to the re visit.Im making my way down the coast and picking out caches that look interesting to me.After spending a bit of time in Bunbury it was back to the Geo Rent a Car to continue along the coast and I have made it to Busselton.I checked in to my accomadation and now to find some caches around town before tea.I found the caches required then located this one after a nice walk along the track. My caches are.GC3YQ61 Punchbowl - 1. Ciao e grazie. #11017 Challenge#1036And this is the last of a long day. Started in the morning with a ftf at the Ngilgi caves, continued to Busselton visiting the city and its imposing Jetty and returning stopping in Vasse to do some shopping.Last and also the most difficult to find. Not because the hiding place was difficult but because before leaving for the holidays I had prepared lists of interesting caches. Since I had to change all the ending locations for the Dunsborough Challenge series this one too, I don't know how, ended up in the group and I changed the ending to the car park!!!After 20 minutes of fruitless searching on the side of the road I finally re-read the listing and noticed the error. Holy shit, it's hard to get old!! After restoring the coordinates, I continued for 66 meters and found the Ammo. As someone wrote it is very difficult to open. If the next geocachers came with a can of WD40 it would be helpful.Hello and thanks. #11017 Challenge#1036La nostra lista, our list:GCAM46J - Ngilgi Cave - TRADI (and ftf)GCAM46J - Beautiful Busselton - VIRTUALGC22DWJ - Their Sacrifice - Busselton - MULTIGC97E3V - 3310 - MISTERYGC8FDCP - Letter from the East - LETTERBOX

We had some time to explore Busselton before we head off to find somewhere to camp tonight, in the end we managed to find 6 types with the last 2 in fading light. Loved this challenge as it gave us a goal for the day and made us pick a few cache types we don't usually focus our attention on.
Traditional - got out the snow mobile and technical tree climbing gear to make a quick find at https://coord.info/GC7R6PW

Whereigo - this one was tough but found it right when I was about to give up
https://coord.info/GC7WQXR

Mystery - qualified for this challenge easily https://coord.info/GC7WPPG

Virtual - beautiful spot
https://coord.info/GC89018

Letterbox - looking for a free camp and headed this way
https://coord.info/GC9TV4Z

Earth cache - was beside the letterbox and a new type so why not

Doing a bunch of caches around south west Western Australia. TFTC.

I spotted this cache in the morning. Read the description and drove off. I rarely ever do that.
Went out and collected about 50 puzzle and 5 star traditional and was driving past again at sunset. Yep. I can do this. Off I went and got the other qualifiers.

Spent the day caching with this cache specifically in mind. List of finds:

Virtual - Beautiful Busselton
Adventure Lab - By the Bay
Multi - Ambergate Nature Reserve
Mystery- QE VIII
Traditional - Quindalup Siding

Had a great time out and about in Busselton and surrounds today.

Was a little disappointed at GZ. Coords appeared to be around 6m out and cache was actually very close to the path. Spent a lot of time spider bashing to finally find it back where we started. Once found, the container wouldn’t open and had to be taken back to the car and levered with a screwdriver. The location was nondescript. After such a great time getting a variety of great caches I was hoping for a more grand kind of finale….BUT without this challenge I wouldn’t have gone so hard today and for that I thank you very much!!!

Had overnighter in Busso for an engagement party last night so up early this morning on a caching mission before the trip home. The plan was to knock off the 15 labs in town and see if I could claim a few different types for this challenge cache.

Had my eye on this one for ages and thought it'd be struggle without an event or cito but thankfully with the introduction of some new icons I was able to complete the task in one morning. Actually had 6 types counting the labs.

Trad GC5WWV5 East Busselton
Multi GC22DWJ Their Sacrifice - Busse...
Mystery GC22TMK Going Japanese!
Lab LB8aBw-03 BTB: Busselton Settleme...
Virtual GC89018 Beautiful Busselton
Wherigo GC4DX9T Busselton Dilemma

Arrived at GZ and spotted the container straight away, a bit of elbow grease required to open but glad to have my name in the log here. Awarding a favourite.

FelixII I found your cache at 10:35am, this was the 7th of 9 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 6618. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

finally made it back here to avenge our first fail due to untimely serpentine intervention a few years ago. In that instance, I almost trod on a snake which took off right into cache's gz. All clear this time round but I did bring my big stick to provide some dutch courage. Nice easy find of such a big container. Took a little elbow grease to get open as was catching a little.
here are the caches:Virtual(gc89018)beautiful Bussellton; Letterbox(gc8fdcp) Letter from the east; Multi(gcirwmv) LKA Bussellton; Trad(gc 5pwfy) Agonis Flexuosa; Puzzle (gc8408p) Tuart. All 6 caches were found today as specified in the description. Thanks so much for your cache.

Apologies for the late log - having now completed my "big lap", I am catching up on logging EC, virtual and challenge caches found along the way that required an extra to-do than a simple field logging....

We happened to time our visit to Busselton on the show weekend, so a little drive out of town to find this cache meant we found less people here than at the showground and jetty!
The physical cache was a short walk and simple find, and Project-GC Challenge Checker confirmed my eligibility to log this find as follows:

As per challenge conditions, my best day was way back on *2014-07-02*, when I found at least one cache from *5* different types (back when stats were a "thing" for me, of which they've become less important over the years):

Virtual Cache : [GCE258] More Melbourne Television Trivia
Unknown Cache : [GC1ZT6P] Gorilla, you're a desperado
Traditional Cache : [GC3HHP0] Dog-gone The Rifle Range
Earthcache : [GC3FG9M] The Jawbone
Multi-cache : [GC4PAKY] Williamstown Botanic Gardens

I am currently travelling around south-west WA after leaving Adelaide three weeks ago. Most of my time has been spent re-visiting old haunts, exploring new places, catching up with friends and family and seeking out caches that interest me along the way.

Last night I camped out (in the rain) near Greenbushes and headed down towards Busselton for the day.

It was very late in the afternoon, but having already found 47 caches, including five different cache types, around Busselton today, I was keen to squeeze this challenge cache in before I headed off to find somewhere to roll out the swag for the night.

My five qualifying caches are as follows:
1. GC7R6PQ ‘C10-Marybrook’ (Traditional)
2. GC7WMDN ‘#1 WA Challenge - Man’s Best Friend’ (Unknown)
3. GC5WRCC ‘NgILGI CAVE’ (Multi)
4. GC7WQXR ‘Let’s Head Down to WAGB18’ (Wherigo)
5. GC5Q2B8 ‘Rock on in Capel’ (Earthcache)

Following the Friday night event, I still had to log one more type of cache, so I ducked out to West Busselton to nab a mystery cache in the rain and darkness.

On the way back to the accom, I nabbed this cache. Knowing the area, I knew it was along a sandy track, so I was worried as to how sandy I would get. Thankfully, it was a lot more compact than when I was last in the area! It was a bit of a struggle trying to find the cache in the dark, but I soon had my eyes on the prize. SL- TNLN. As follows is a list of the requirements. Thanks FelixII for the challenge! Big Grin

Headed down to my WAGB campsite a little early and planned the necessary caches for this challenge into my journey Smile My record for the number of different cache types in one day is 10, which I managed during a Mega in the UK a few years ago. That counts for nowt though in this challenge - and so here are my qualifying 5 for today:
GC53TW4 Day at the Beach (trad)
GC31A17 Take a Break - Harvey River Diversion (multi)
GCM408 Lighten Up (virtual)
GC27NTG Bunbury Bassalt (earthcache)
GC2CJT8 #5 LBH - Peppermint Walk (letterbox)
Pulled off the road at the suggested parking spot as I was going past there anyway Smile I was going to give the geohound a little run up to GZ but then spotted the 1080 signs so he stayed in the car while I enjoyed a nice short walk into the bush. Quick find once at GZ, always like finding these containers too Smile Great idea for a cache, have a favourite for making my drive down much more interesting today Smile TFTC

Decided our last day in Busso was going to try for this challenge as we had 3 done and had 2 others planned for the trip home. Followed nice wide trail to gz and was about to step off into bush when something slithered right into gz. Our first snake for the trip and us scaredy-cats were out of there. Willhave to wait till for our winter break. But tftc.

I'm not at all organised for this trip so its mainly caching on the hoof as time permits between visiting with friends. So I checked into my unit at the RAC complex and had a look up to see what caches were close. This one caught my eye and I knew I qualified as I had targeted the virtual, some earthcaches and letterboxes round Bunbury earlier in the day. So a bit of a bonus cache in many repects. Headed off soon after for a nice quick find.

After stating the day early in Pinjarra, we hit the road on the way down to Busselton for the weekend. We stopped by in Bunbury for a quick catch-up with some fellow cachers at an event before grabbing a couple of finds in town after stopping by for a bite to eat and grab a coffee.
After arriving in Busselton there was a quick park and grab after fuelling up before heading to Yallingup for lunch. We checked into out accommodation and I headed out to get the last find needed to be able to claim this cache and although I was hoping to get more than the five types needed in the day DNF and the call of dinner caused me stop the searching in town and head out here to get the final find of the day. Starting in Perth I've done a virtual, a multi, a wherigo, a trad and a mystery then came here. Quite a bit out of my way but worth it. My gps had me a few meters away from where I found the cache but I spotted a possum, which initially I though might be the cache. I'm obviously tired! Took a photo and asked for help but he stayed mute. Then spotted it as I blundered around. Whew! Signed and left it as I found it. Yay!!! Tftc

So it was a wee way back when my half muggle, half geo wife offered me the chance to spend a day together geo caching for my birthday. So what better way to do it than by nailing this challenge. Broadened my horizons in caching more again and offered a fun day out for us and the geodogs. My list is as follows

Letters to Felix GC5NYG4
Landing beside Placid Waters GC633VJ
Bright Sparks GC645GO
Canal Rocks GC5GB96
Possum Spotting GC698WH

Finding the actual cache took a little searching and we noticed it was being guarded by two possums only just couple of metres up in skinny peppys.

Thanks Felix 11 for a memorable day out caching.

And what a busy day it was, first up was the Multi, Their Sacrifice, GC22DWJ,
Then the Traditional Mary MacKillop Busselton, GC5QB0B
Onward to the Letterbox Felixll, GC5NYG4
Then I signed this one before travelling on to the Airport TB and Trackable Exchange,
A bit further afield then to the Mystery Dew a Drop Inn GC4y512
On again for a bit of fun to Smell The Cheese,
Before ending up in Capel to do the Rock On In Capel Earth Cache.
Thank for the challenge but we are now both totally knackered.

TFTC! Found whilst attending the WAGB Event in Busselton. I enjoyed an epic three days caching throughout the South West of WA.

All caches were found generally very well maintained by the local COs. Thanks

I've had my eye on this for quite some time. Add a fav.
