Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had decided that wed move on to Central Otago today, staying in Cromwell we needed to get a couple of caches for today, so we thought wed go for a bit of a drive & grab a couple of easy roadside caches this was the first of them after a quick search we soon had the cache in hand, logbook completed & safely returned to its position certainly makes life easy when theres nobody around were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,609 for us!
Nice easy find today. I am left wondering why the road in the photo is closed for 3 days and counting
Timing is everything! I had made myself a list of easy roadside caches I could grab on my way to Alexandra and this cache was a maybe due to the recent DNFs. I stopped by anyway with Kubabelle for a quick look and we were lucky enough to find the replacement cache which had been placed earlier on in the day Signed the new log and placed back as found. Thanks for the replacement
Another beautiful central Otago day and quick find in a stunning spot. TFTC and the smiley .
Having spent a lovely three days in Otematata we then made our way over to Queenstown - we grabbed a few caches on the way. Parked nearby and wandered over to GZ. Cache found quicklyLog signed and replaced TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Day 4: The Road to Balclutha Todays agenda was to get down to Balclutha where we are staying on the way to the Catlins. The route on the beautiful day took us through the beautiful Central Otago and Teviot regions, where we took in the landscapes and found quite a few caches along the way. It was a long drive but we really enjoyed the little highlights along the way thanks to the ALs and caches placed by everyone. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Nice spot for a first look at Lake Dunstan although we technically werent headed up this way. A very quick find before drinking in the views and taking photos. No weather warnings at this of the year to note too, which is why I love summer travel. TFTC!
Finished cycling the Dunstan trail, and now out for an explore of the old part of Cromwell, and a couple of caches too Yeah a park n grab, but I am really here to climb to the top of the hill to get that other cache too! This one was the easy one to find, thanks mcmanis1 for the hide
Thanks mcmanis1 for the cache. Its #1805 for us. We found your cache onTuesday 14 November 2023. Quick grab before lunch over the other side
About to begin a drivetest between here and Rangitata, Jumped out and made a find here. All good.
TFTC mcmanis1, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 4 today, making this find #4130

We stopped off not only to pick up this cache, which we found with ease, but also to take a look at the perfect reflections in the so still lake. A perfect start to our day. Thanks for placing.
Found and repaired the whole situation, new new container is now a mint tin, with a new water resistant log and a pencil. Old burnt(?) Log in bottom of mint tin.
This cache container was very badly damaged (shattered!) So we put the log in a powerade bottle to keep it safe. Old container next to it for repair tftc!
Parked nearby to get the cache up the hill so thought I’d better grab this one as it was sooo close. Nice and easy. Container is starting to fall apart (brittle) and will need replacing. Dry inside though - for now.
Thanks for the cache, mcmanis1

Making our way north and enjoying the quiet roads, weather has been amazing, thanks for the placement.
Today I shifted my snail shell from Twizel to Lowburn this morning. And after lunch decided to locate and sign off the caches I passed on the road that didn't have big enought carparks for my long rig.
This one did have but it was on the wrong side of the road.
Cheers for the cache.

On a weekend with Mr&MrsFSo this morning we were up and away, really enjoying the scenery.
Cool fun cache
Cool fun cache
luckily the weather remained very kind to us although we got rain as we went thro the gorge and into Arrowtown late afternoon.
Today was set aside to do a geo caching day to Cromwell if the weather was unsuitable for skiing which is was , so we set off early at about 8.30 and finally arrived home about 5.30 with approx 41 caches in total including the adventure lab , so we were very pleased. we took a muggle who have been intro' to geocaching briefly on a few days before and so today was a big geo caching experience for her and as i had 2 GPS's with me she was able to use one quite independently by half was thro the day.
we enjoyed spending some time at the historic Cromwell area which none of us had actually explored before and where we had lunch at the Grain cafe.
we only had 2 DNFs and both were of puzzle style caches which we had solved but there was nothing at GZ.
thank you for these caches

#9386. Easter Sunday. Day 3 of the Easter road trip with Infoferret. We started in Christchurch and drove to Hokitika via Hanmer Springs, Lewis Pass, Reefton and Greymouth. Yesterday we headed down into South Westland stopping at Okarito, Fox Glacier, Bruce Bay and Haast Pass and staying overnight in Wanaka. Today we are heading to Cromwell, Alexandra and Queenstown before we drive north through Lindis Pass to Twizel. We are a driving a hybrid car and its proved to be very economical and easily has fuel capacity for the long stretches of road between townships. Our main aim is to gather up geotour caches but we are stopping for a few traditional caches and virtuals and earthcaches as we make our way around the South Island.
Back in Cromwell and the day is coming to an end. We still have to drive over the Lindis Pass to get to Twizel. All my ambitious plans to do caches along this road are thrown out at this stage. We just need to get from A to B now. So this was lucky last for the day. Nice easy find which I left for IF to locate while I took a few photos. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks mcmanis1 for hiding the cache here.

We are staying at the Rotary Glen NZMCA camp and grabbing a few caches in the wider area.
This was one of a few we found before deciding we preferred the shade at the camp.
Thank you mcmanis1.

Thank you mcmanis1.
We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. We scored 3x nights at Rotary Glen with max occupancy of 10 vans. The plan was just 2x but it's just to nice.We never explored Cromwell, just raced through so we're going to make the most of it. Spot on D/T rating and coordinates here. Thank you mcmanis1
Spent a hot couple of days in Wanaka and today we were heading home. Cooler today too so an opportunity to get some caches.
Parked just metres away from GZ so quick spot, find and log here. Tftc
