I had been to this spot a couple of years ago for Australia Day with the GeoHubby's uncle's family, but that was pre-knowledge of caching. Today I visited with my three Geodaughters. The walk from the gate to the cache was rather enjoyable and my two older Geodaughters skipped ahead while I walked a bit slower with the Geobaby. We had trouble listening for cars coming along the track, however, because of the noise coming from the raceway on the other side of the lake. Luckily for us, ther weren't any cars and we were left to search completely muggle-free!
Everything is nice and dry inside the cache. TFTC.

Found on my way to an off road duathlon being held across Scout Road.
Dropped Travel Bug because the cache is in a romantic area, not far from where my partner and I bought our first home 14 years ago and bc I had only just given up triathlon whey partner first met me and now we've come full circle with me racing a duathlon today. So I thought it an appropriate spot for the anniversary travel bug.

Another pleasant walk along the lake on a perfect day. Cache quickly to hand and quiet walk back.
Arriving at the locked vehicular access gate we managed to squeeze into one of the few parking spots available (well the last actually) and headed down the walking path..
Approaching GZ we realised the undergrowth may be an issue with previous comments re slithery things so we armed ourselves with sticks (not as easy as you would think just here)
However cache was easily spotted on arrival & quickly retrieved...
This is in good condition for an almost decade ole cache (well maintained) good to see...
Log soon signed & we set out on the return trek..

Thanks OMY130 for the cached

Parking was a challenge today as Kaisho53 and I arrived at the gate to the area. No further by vehicle so I had to squeeze the Gunniemobile into a spot right at the back...
OK, that sorted, we took to the trail on foot. Enroute, I realised I had forgotten to pick up my walking stick to poke around at the other end, so it was into the bush for Kaisho53, who came out with one each to do the job... [^]
Meandering into GZ, I arrived and spotted the container. Aha, no need for the poking stick or anything actually. The cache was a nice easy find and easily retrieved. I agree with the previous finders, it's great to see a well lived cache. 10 years old in a few months. That's impressive...
We whacked our names in the log and tucked things away before the mozzies got any more blood. We still needed some to get us back to the car...
Cheers OMY130.

No problems with snakes today. Nice little walk with great views. Lovely. Noisy though with powerboats burning up water ... so to speak ...
Cache found in good order and back along the same path. Cheers OMY130.

Ok, parked the car and set off on our trek. Enjoyed the views on the way in, and almost to GZ, saw another path. Hmm, I wonder where that goes, will find out on the way out.
Found cache, signed log and headed for discovered path. Well that was definately shorter..should have come that way in.

I was working in the area today and thought it was about time i took care of a couple of caches without smiley faces on them .
I parked the truck at the locked gate with nowhere to turn around , only a few hundred meters from GZ.
After a short walk in, i spent a while admiring the views of the lake before beginning my search. The treasure was found quickly after spotting a slight geo-trail, but you'd expect that after 9 years in action i guess .
I signed the log and headed back to the truck to realise i'd left my keys back at the cache so it was another journey to GZ for me before i was on my way to the next one … which is where i also realised i must have dropped my pen somewhere here as well [:o)]. Now to reverse about 500m (lucky i got 2 reverse speeds)
Great to find such an old cache. It is in good condition and dry … still . Took Hearts May Flutter TB. Thanks OMY130 (and all others involved originally)

I have lived on the other side of the Lake for years and never ventured over to this side. Didn't realise it was so big. Thanks for the hide. I have left some travel bugs to encourage others to visit.
Geokid liked this cache. Swapped pirate treasure coins for a jigsaw puzzle.

Gotta walk about 10m into the scrub to find it. Lots of cool stuff in there. Easy to spot the little path into the bush.
100th find. watched the water skiers on the lake. People camping on adjacent property. TN Left some clear hair slides. TFTC Thanks OMY130
Oh my goodness. What a hide. Feel very bushwacked! It really is in the thick of it!
Zac23 and I originally found this one with nic579 before we had our own usernames, we we came back to log it. Spring growth has made this a bit tougher to find than is was the first time we came. At least this time I didn't pick up a tick!
Spent ages here but couldn't find it should have got help from the person who found it today.
lovely long walk on easy track with geodog and lovely breeze view lake as luck no flood area... found it as hide very well.... thanks hunting.....
well what a trial this has been, finding this one. well i input the wrong co-ords into the old GPS, for some reason this caused us not to find the cache, but now with the correct co-ords and a new GPS, this one is now off the list,
many thanks to both parties for hiding and keeping this cache going.

The hiding spot was decent a bit easy to find because grass had warn away to make a path to it.

We are all but recent leaves on the same old tree of life and if this life has adapted itself to new functions and conditions, it uses the same old basic principles over and over again. There is no real difference between the grass and the man who mows it. ~Albert Szent-Györgyi .....Sorry I am very very very late in logging these finds...Trying to get all these logs up to date as they got a little out of hand and the dask became rather daunting.

Wow after a few years away from the game, I logged in to find all these very very old field notes still sitting here unprocessed dating back to 2010....what to do what to do.....Log it I say!
-----
The Monkeys are back in the game. After a notable absence with only the occasional find, it was time to get on with some of the funniest monkey business we know. Geocaching. And this time we brought along some friends, old and new.
The return of the Monkeys was inspired by a new friends search for a hobby and we knew the perfect adventure. Once upon a time the Monkeys dominated the Albany Creek area and it was time to reclaim some lost ground.

@1447 Found with the Ambularesimia group on another adventure. Loved the walk - also found an abandoned BBQ - nice to picnic for a while. Found by Mr Simia after group splitting in many directions. TFTC
Plus-One, Triple-GGG and our Geo-Kids walked straight past this one, as did we initially although nowhere near as far. MrSimia had his hands on this one @1447, and then and moved it out to the path for all to sign while we admired the near by surrounds and the mystery BBQ in the bush nearby. A nice walk, great views and awesome to see the dam so full.

Found at 15:00, took wish you were here geocoin, and left pirate money, buttons and hotwheel car. lovely walk down to the cache,
Would like to come here again some time, we hurried while watching the sun going down, knowing the gate is locked after sunset. Left Great Voyages (Wish You Were Here) CG, but phone ran out of batteries so couldn't get a photo.
at 15:27. It seemed a very suitable place to leave the Hoppity the Frog TB. TFTC OMY130
Access to this one took a bit of driving around. Seeing as my in-car navigation system consists of me, a refidex and a GPSr full of cache WPs, by the time I arrived at the gate, I decided I'd better have lunch first. Great place for it [^]. Minimal traffic noise and lots of little birds twitting and flitting about the place. Eventually made my way to GZ and found the cache easily. TN/LN/SL and admired the pelicans feeding on the lake. Presumably, blue-green algae doesn't affect them ???
Another strike from Black Ops.

Staying across the road at the Scout camp, I couldn't let this one go unfound. GPSr was jumping all over the place which made it a bit of a challenge. The undergrowth, which is now almost overgrowth, just added that bit more of a challenge. Watched someone learning to ski as we wandered back up the road to the car. TFTC
Did the cache at 5:30pm just before sunset and on route we saw our first ever Koala in the wild. We also saw a sea eagle. What a fantastic location. If only all caches could be like this one!
Lovely area! The sites were just amazing!
The undergrowth is getting a little overgrown around the cache so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for it! Muscles are also required to open the cache - but thats ok cause now I have an excuse to get that gym membership !
Amazing times - just a note geodogs aren't allowed anymore ...
Congratulations on adopting the cache and its marvelous surroundings!

A wet Saturday afternoon and there was only one boat with, apparently, beginner skiers. Brings back good memories of our summer weekends two decades ago when water skiing was our family's regular weekend activity.
The road from the gate to the cache was slippery in places but nevertheless it was a most enjoyable walk and the cache was very easily spotted at the stated location.

Lots of trail bike riders use this area. One property owner has built his kids their very own jumps and they were making good use of them. Found the cache and signed the log before anyone came racing by. TFTC
Quite pastoral, isn't it? Pity it's supposed to be water. Any koalas in the vicinity must have been scared off by the trail bike riders to the left, right and centre. Was there a convention nobody told us about? The sound of screaming engines shattered what looked like it should have been a very peaceful location. Nonetheless, not a bad walk there and back, found the cache safe and well. TFTC. ='.'=
