Sydney to Adelaide Road TripDay One: Sydney to CanberraWeather: warm!!The second of two panther caches, and I still havent spotted him. It felt a bit snakey back here, but didnt see any of them either. I was almost put off by the T3 here, not really dressed for anything too intense, but it wasnt that hard at all. Watch for the blackberries though. Thanks for the cache and the series Noodles22. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
Found myself heading north to Sydney this afternoon and wondering what I might pick up along the way, when I spotted a Macarthur Panther hide. Ooh! I started this series ages ago, it's about time I picked up another clue!
A short detour off the highway had me parking on the shoulder. I spotted a likely option from the car, and waded through the long grass to check it out. App said I was 4m away, so this must be it! But no. Lots of space to hide something, but no cache.
I checked the app again, and now it said I was 11m off. I looked in the direction it pointed, and realised there was another option there. On arrival, it didn't look like there was anything out of place here either. But I grabbed a natural implement to like savour with and quickly realised the cache was there! It was just very well concealed.
Log had a slightly damp feeling to it, but was otherwise fine and in great condition considering it had been untouched for 3 months.

On this rainy, cold day, the geokids decided that they wanted to get out of the house for a little bit for a change of scenery. We jumped in the car and headed out to see where the road might take us.
Unsurprisingly, 5 minutes out of the driveway and a kid declares they need to use the bathroom. Well we were on the freeway and there were no pit stops available and didn't want to stop at Pheasants Nest, so we decided to take the next exit and head back home. I checked the geocaching app and saw this one was right near where we were about to turn around.
The geokids agreed to find it before heading home for toileting purposes. We got out of the car and started towards GZ. The grass was pretty wet, but there was a bit of a track available that we could follow. We headed into the forest of grass and before long arrived at GZ. The cache was found on the ground in the middle of the path. We signed the log, found the clue and returned all the bits and pieces back to the cache. We then spent some time reading the description and hint to determine a more suitable place for the cache to go. Fortunately, we were not stumped and found the perfect location where the coordinates were spot on.
We got back to the car, luckily we weren't too wet and headed back home... no more outings today I think.

Joined the **MCO** expedition with **Purplepeopleater**, **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Team Merlin**, **TARDIS 0061** and **Asbestiform**. After a hearty breakfast in Mittagong, we headed off under threatening skies and cleared out our targets in that area.
Then off to Goulburn to cherry pick through the periodic table.
By the end of the day, the tally was around 50 finds after venturing further down the Hume to Goulburn and surrounds.
This was the last one for the day.

Found this as a group of 7 out on a day of caching. Signed as MCO. Thanks to all the cache owners who we discover their caches to day. A most enjoyable day thanks guys. Cheers
PPE and myself had been talking about some select targets on a southern day run. We decided to not be too antisocial and moved the day around to suit a few others which came in handy at one of the other caches. The group consisted of PPE, Crash, Baktrak, teamMerlin, Tardis 0061, Asbestiform and yours truly. Targets included puzzles, poles, ladders and some not so common DTs and high D or Ts plus a few others en route.
Logs were signed as MCO as what became known as a Man Called Otto expenditure after the recent movie release and some grumpy kidding around. We completed the signing duties and re hid.
Yes another that only needed a small detour and a quick find through long grass.

Some of the gang floated an idea to head South for the day to grab a few mysteries, some solved during the lockdowns, and some other caches with more challenging terrain or retrieval needs. Pretty soon, we had a gang of 7, masquerading as a "Man Called Otto" (The Grumpiest Man in the World). A sardonically enjoyable day was had by all with many remarkable caches found and general merriment begrudgingly shared. In honour of Otto and to preserve valuable space in often tiny logs, all were signed with the group monicker "MCO".
Our penultimate find on the way home after a hectic day of finds. Thanks Noodles22.

What started out as a twinkle in my and bella at waggy's eye for a southern highlands incursion earlier in the week for some periodic table cheery picking, turned into a full scale grumpy expedition. Inspired by the newly released "A Man Called Otto" (which is an American interpretation of the fabulous "A Man called Ove") and the "apparent" similarities to several of our group's demeanor and appearance, the expedition was officially deemed the "Man Called Otto" expedition (OMC) and comprised: myself, Baktrak, Crash2079, Tardis0061, teamMerlin, Asbestiform and bella at waggy.

OCW Sweetmanda.
Sweetmanda has wanted to hike to Mt Jellore for some time and of course the opportunity to grab this series of caches along the way made for a nice bonus. During the week he made plans to get out there this Saturday and was kind enough to invite me to join him. Setting off from home at 5:30am, we had a smooth run along the Hume and managed to set off along the track at Mt Jellore Flora Reserve by 6:30am. The bush is really something at this time of day - so still and beautiful, the air crisp and clean. Heading out early, it was quite pleasant temperature wise on the way to the summit, but warmed up considerably by the time we made our return trek (see what I did there?!) - boy was it a tough slog back in the heat nearing midday. Nonetheless, this was a really enjoyable hike in good company in a lovely bushland setting.
Once the hike was completed, naturally we thought to check the map and grab a few other caches within the vicinity. With Sweetmanda wanting to stop here to avenge a previous DNF on the great Southern land cache, it gave me the opportunity to hunt down another Macarthur panther. After intially gravitating to the wrong hint item, I then spotted the correct one and made a nice straightforward find. Going to need to sit down soon and try and piece together all the hints I've gathered over the years in this series - hopefully I still have them all! TFTC!

Quick find, signed log and replaced as found. Grass getting long showing where others have been though. Still haven't seen any large black cat, German tank, or wild Penrith supporter. TFTC!
Found while out with Shaneo58 on the way down to Albury, found quickly with the hint.
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.

I parked in the available space and followed the geotrails to a likely hide. I had overshot however and spied the cache on the return.

Parked the geomobile and followed a few geotrails along with the coordinates direction. A bit of a bush bash but eventually arrived a GZ and the hint indicated the spot . Glad to collect another from this series Left a golden paperclip which is nothing compared to the quantity of other items already in the container - made it difficult to close .TFTC
#6436- Instant find at GZ. Beware of all the vines! Thanks Left a TB and a pathtag. Thanks
The third and final day of our return to Sydney saw us drive past numerous caches close to the highway. We selected this one in a secluded place not far from the highway on a minor off road. It was quickly found - and in good shape.

Making the most of enjoying what's left of a short lived summer and rapidly diminishing daylight saving to make some finds. Many have been on my solved pile for some time and with prolonged work commitments due to COVID I've just not had the spare time to do much caching at all as I've been working such long hours.
Consequently nor have I been on my favourite eMTB for many weeks, or to my favourite Namadgi for lots of bushwalks over the summer months. So having to make do squeezing in some urban caching for a quick walk here and there, or even more conveniently drive by caching. Caching is caching right, and thank goodness it comes in so many forms to suit practically every occasion life throws at us.
Travelling back from Sydney and made a detour to collect a cluster around here.
And so it goes, just happy to pick up caches such as this one. Thanks to Noodles22 for putting out and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment!

Day One of my Dayboro Trip with Loci612. With my landing at the airport from a rather long time stuck in my own state of Victoria. With my eyes set on collecting as many LGA's, types and interesting D/T's as I can.
With a whole week ahead of me of caching and driving I was keen to smash some caches out in Canberra before Loci and I headed off. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

Roadtrip - home. Well "half" way. I decided to add a few counties to my count on the way home. I am not going to try and do them all - I would take days to get home. Just going to the ones that are close to my planned route.
No panthers but plenty of spider webs

Bit of a walk into bushland with some prickling plants, so long pants are a must. Nice find
Had to do a loop. I swear this freezing wind was pushing around the satellites. Pinpointed in the end!

Been wanting to log this cache and number 4 nearby for ages just never have time when we are down this way. Today we visited the Bradman museum and the woman's T20 World cup trophy tour. So on the way home we stopped to log these. One more before we can visit the final destination. TFTC
On our usual route between Sydney and Canberra, we thought we'd break up the drive with a few caches. This one stumped us, since there were several options in the area, and our phone's GPS was bouncy. After a few minutes, and a few scratches, we found the cache. Left some goodies, took nothing. TFTC!

Quick find on my way from Sydney to Canberra. Doing a lot of caches on the way as I was for once doing this trip on my own and as it had gone dark there was nothing for it as to do as many as I could on the side of the road.
Ther must have been an accident on thebeay to Sydney and lots of people came on these side streets, so not a very quickt search as one would expect.
Thank you Noodles22 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Headed off for a caching day around Bargo with Azzepious and Lokied. We were aiming for some of the high D/T caches along the 'power trail' in Bargo. We managed to grab quite a few, and only obtained some minor scrapes and scratches for our trouble. All logs were signed as 'Team GOGGGG' the Group of Glorious Gaming and Geocaching Geeks.
We decided to do a cache loop back to the freeway. Quick park and grab. Not a T3.

Quick find on my annual drive north to see the rellies, having decided to detour for a cache or 2.
I got sidetracked by a promising stump and lig before returning to my initial thought, which is where it was. Cache is in good condition though there is a split in the lid. Could do with some duct tape.
