I found this cache on my Mega Walk #28 - a 23,000 step walk through Hawkestowe, South Morang and Keon Park. I had solved this at sometime in the last couple of years and thankfully, the find was easier than the solve. Thanks from D B-A
I dropped by to have lunch with mum and then headed out to grab this solved puzzle. The clouds were slowly clearing and the sun was shining through however the surrounds were still wet so both my shoes and clothes ended up a little damp trying to access this one.Fortunately it didnt take too long to find and there was no activity at the nearby location, albeit I might have thought school holidays was the time for daytime activities.A big thanks goes to CJ-Curry for taking the time to add Dastardly DTMF to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
Decrypted after finding the right site to do the job, leading me to the exact location. Thanks.
Recall it took me a while to decipher the audio. However, the actual find was quick and easy at GZ today.
#60 29/12/2023 @5:15pmNice little hide and a fun puzzle to solve initially! The log has seen better days and is a little damaged
Solved this one many years ago just not an area I venture out to much. I actually used my sharp mind to solve this puzzle by finding a nice tool to help me out.Decided to do a Northern 'burbs cache run today with the main objective of getting this cache. The typically understated CJ-Curry container was found quicky in a logical spot just out of view of the nearby muggles.

Solved this one long long ago, a couple of months after it was published in fact.
Today I was in the area and swung by to to convert my solve into a find.
A fun puzzle and easy find at GZ.
Thanks CJ-Curry for the interesting puzzle worthy of a FP
Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK

Fun cache I trained myself to solve. Needless to say I’m glad I instantly knew how to solve this.
Cache was mega wet so I popped a water absorber in log and got it in a slightly dryer location about 3cm from where it was prior! Thanks for the fun problem.

I don't have very good hearing and had no clue how to tell the tones apart if someone could help.
Solved this puzzle a while ago and was in the area with Cacheking323 to get him his first find
Found It!
Having done a DTMF puzzle in the past, I had the right app on my phone for working this out. Then went to GZ in the dark and surprisingly found the cache quite quickly!

A nice find in the suburbs today after solving the puzzle some time ago
This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Freddo, team Waldron, e.gregory1 and Davidwazza as part of our team called: ‘Aussies on Tour’, the log books were either signed with the name, AOT or our individual caching names.
A great weekend away and a very well organised mega despite the horrible weather thrown at us we still managed to find quite a few caches
Thanks for the cache

Another cache found on our mega tour. Thanks for the fun.
November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

This puzzle was solved some time ago, and it was a mix of listening/patience, and online tools to assist. It reminded me of Brisbane's loudspeaker/listening geoart that required a fair amount of patience and scribing.
This weekend, it was a flight and trip down to Melbourne to attend The Whittlesea 2022 Mega Event. I arrived on Thursday evening and had accommodation in Mill Park, which was a good strategic location between Whittlesea and Melbourne. I joined a few South Aussie friends as part of the “Aussies on Tour” (AOT) team, which consisted of e.gregory1, Freddo, gridge98, and Team Waldron.
Several geocaching series were completed, which included the Commonwealth Star Series (CSS), Whittlesea Puzzles for Beginners, Whittlesea Event Gadget Trail (WEGT), Whittlesea Challenge Wander (WCW), and the Whittlesea Compass (TWC). In addition, we targeted uncommon cache types, rare/unique D-T combinations, older caches and those with high Favourite Points. It was great to have visited Victoria's two 2000 hidden geocaches too (Victoria's 1st (Melbourne's 1st) and Devil Bend).
We were treated with great weather for the first couple of days, but then it deteriorated from Saturday afternoon with rain storms and high winds overnight and on Sunday.
This morning, we took a stop at this location, and it wasn't long before we made this cache find. Perhaps we were assisted with yesterday's find making it reasonably clear where the cache should be. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, although it is starting to look rusty as one may expect. The logbook was stamped with our "Aussies on Tour" stamp / noted as AOT to save logbook space. Thanks CJ-Curry for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance (with the support from Archie B1 & B2 and SanguineDragonflye).

**This Cache:**
A cleverly crafted puzzle! Once at GZ we scrounged around for a while without success, checked some logs and one gave a great hint! We now focused on that and found the cache relatively quickly!
Thanks
---
**Today:**
Myself and sebass19 headed off from Mill Park today, slowly meandering our way in a south-easterly direction. I had a huge list of caches that were worth picking up for varying reasons, so we didn't really have much of a plan apart from driving from each cache on the list to the next closest, following the small clusters as we went! Had an awesome day with many different cache types with unique stats!
Thanks to all the CO's

A simple telephone system can decipher DTNF tones, but I found it's actually quite hard.
The problems is probably just my poor hearing.
With some perseverance I managed to get acceptable coordinates.

Solved this bad boy of a puzzle with modern tech and drove on out. Scoping the joint out took a while but it turned out to be hidden on the ground. Left a rose inside. Thank you for the cache!
There are two parts to any law: the letter and the spirit.
Currently, the letter of the law does not prevent geocaching from happening in either Australia or New Zealand. As of 27-3-20, New Zealanders may do so if the cache is in their local area and they find it alone or only and exactly with members of the house that they are currently residing in. I am not fully aware of the situation in Australia but I believe it is currently a little more relaxed.
Should cachers wish to do so, they may still find this cache and I will not disable it for the period of time that we are in full or partial lockdown. However, I implore you to observe all health and safety considerations - wash or sanitise your hands thoroughly before and after touching the containers - and pay heed to the spirit of the law. The spirit of this law cannot be clearer: **don't get it, don't give it, stay at home, don't look for loopholes in the law**, and we will survive this much better as a pair of nations.

Find #10877
Out caching this afternoon with beckNmonts and BuhFuhGuh. After the event in Whittlesea, we headed out to see what we could find.
Once at GZ, we made pretty quick work of the find in among the multitude of ants.
Many thanks to CJ-Curry for the cache. TNLN.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2020?*

So, what was the plan for today...... simple, find some caches before and after an event..... so nothing really out of the norm for a cacher on a weekend. So waking up early today to make sure that I can meander my way up to the event and get a few smileys before the event. Eitherway thanks for the cache and being a part of the day out North.
A day out caching in the area due to the event. A puzzle that was in my former field of work! Thanks for placing the cache CJ-Curry and for the puzzle.
Heading back to town after a big day of epic caching with great mates we managed to pick up a few more caches that didn't require TTC gear.
It turns out we are both tone deaf so the solving of this one was left to the Pacman, thankfully.
Thanks CJ-Curry for another mystery in Melbourne.

When I saw a D4 puzzle by this CO I thought I had no chance of solving it.
DTMF? That will be easy if it is as simple as that. But there'll probably be 5 layers to it .
Turns out it was simple indeed, and the hardest part was having to use Internet Explorer to listen to the tunes as Chrome was not happy with the soundcloud webpage. I probably have one too many browser extensions blocking popups.
On the way to GZ with Anikano, Jacko and Tritonz1 I wondered if smartphones still play DTMF tones (for legacy's sake). They don't .
An easy find today in the shade of the tree while the sports fields were full of muggles battling it out in the heat.
Thanks CJ-Curry.

Day out caching with Tritonz Pac-Man and Jacko83 doing something TTCs. On way back to Geelong decided to pick up some outliers on the map. Puzzle unlocked some time ago - today day to pick up. Tftc. Nice little spot for final too
I'm shocking at puzzles these days but apparently for Pac Man this was simple as he explained it.
Nice quiet GZ today. Thanks!
Nice quiet GZ today. Thanks!
This one had been in my solved pile and today I got to turn it into a smiley! Thanks for the puzzle which took several attempts and for placing this cache. Dropped a TB.
Like some other finders I made use of online assistance - there's a chord recognition game on my phone that I struggle with when it gets beyond three, so the chance of me recognising ten different tones was low. GZ seemed a fairly non-descript park but when I got there there were some grand old gums that must have been preserved when the area was settled, so hats off to our forebears for their foresight, and to CJ Curry for the puzzle and hide.
Grabbed this one after solving a while back. Nice late autumn morning for caching. Tftc
I have found a new use for my ex-Telstra husband. To solve this puzzle. Brilliant, he had it solved so quickly already having appropriate software at his fingertips. The right knowledge makes all the difference. Great puzzle and great husband (even though he really does not understand my obsession with caching).
Suscoe headed for the Bundoora area on a mild day with a bit of sun, a bit of cloud and a mild breeze for a Summer's day.
20 caches visited and 20 caches found.
All caches are in good order and are well maintained by their owners, thank you.
Thanks to CJ-Curry for this puzzle, had the solution for a while, today was the day for the visit.
All good at GZ.

I found myself in the area and saw that I had this one solved. Time for a bit of a walk around and some pickups. Fortunately GZ wasn't muggly at all given the weather forecast. Thanks for an entertaining puzzle and a quick pick up.
Having seen a similar puzzle before, it didn't take long to recall the method for solving and we soon had some coordinates which pleased the GeoChecker.
Today we went to look for the cache. Accurate coordinates and a common style of hide led to a quick find. the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks CJ-Curry for the puzzle and the cache.

This was quite an interesting puzzle that built upon something which I knew a little about (that being phone tones associated with numbers and other functions). With some website's help I was able to find the secret and headed out to GZ. There was a bit of giveaway at GZ but still a very enjoyable mystery cache. TFTC.
I have done a few of this type now so it was a quick solve and find on a day trip to Melbourne to meet uni friend. I hadn’t seen for 40 years . Thanks for the placement cheers
After getting a little help to solve the puzzle it was relitively easy to locate the cache. This was a cache that kept showing itself as an unfound one amoungst many found caches. So I was very pleased to find it. Thanks for the cache and the tricky puzzle.
Would never have been able to get this without a little help from a friend. Even though there were muggles not too far away, the cache was quickly located. Luckily we carry some spares with us and just happened to have exactly what was needed to do some quick maintenance, hope that was ok. Lovely quiet area. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
Yet another clever puzzle. First time we have seen something like this. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here.

A glorious day out caching with Papillon4506 and GeoTurtle37.
Had this on the “solved to be picked up” pile forever. Finally able to make it a smiley.
Thankyou CJ-Curry for placing this cache here for us to find.

Replaced the cache with a new identical container, logbook & plastic bag. All good to go!
This may need to be checked - went back today with a friend and still no luck. Coordinates are definitely correct.
At GZ but could not find - wasn't going to stick around forever as it starts raining.
Found it after search here there over there back here.. ah there it is..
Found it...

I quite like this sort of thing. And this was certainly a fun puzzle to solve. I did so quite a while back now but I rarely visit this area. Indeed I live on what might be called the opposite side of town and this is probably the northernmost pre-solved puzzle I've ever retrieved. To be honest I wasn't particularly confident of finding a cache here today. I've had mixed experiences with CJ-Curry caches. But I made the hike across from the Plenty Gorge parkland because this was the closest I was likely to get for some time. Pleasingly I found the cache almost instantly, lightly concealed in a likely location. Thanks CJ-Curry!
TFTC, pretty happy with this find. Even though it was 5yo geoson who found it when we got to GZ
I found myself in the area to grab a travelling cache so I thought that I might as well spend some additional time here having a look around and finding some caches.
Not many people out even though it was a lovely afternoon.
I noticed that since my previous DNF there had been a few smileys so I had another attempt. As I wandered to the GZ I could see the container so after signing the log I re-hid it. Another CJ Curry puzzle is put to bed! TFTC.

After solving this one a few weeks back I resigned myself to not being able to find this after all the DNFs..but I left it on our watch list, and glad I did, as last week, we see a log from GJMMelb that he found it! Yay! So it is still there and no excuse for us not to come along and have a go. Oldest child happily found it reasonably quickly. This makes us pretty happy, as we haven't done a difficulty 4, terrain 1.5 cache yet. That box is now ticked off! We realize that the terrain = 5 column of the matrix will never be done (We can't climb trees anymore and are not yet desperate enough to risk the kids!) but difficulty 4 and 5 caches with terrain less than say 3.5 are still possible!! Thanks for the puzzle CJ-Curry, we have been enjoying your puzzles lately..we will keep chipping away at them slowly.
Solved the puzzle quiet sometime ago with a bit of assistance. Found with previous finder Quiet1_au as we set out today to find as many puzzles caches as possible. At Gz the area has changed with a very large branch having fallen from the tree. I had not seen the DNFs below so I searched around. Eventually I found the cache lying on the ground. I placed the cache out of sight. Thanks CJ-Curry

Worked out the coords quickly. I had studied it in school. Got to GZ but couldn't find it. It looks like the council has done a bit of cleaning up. May need to be checked on
I haven't had the opportunity to get my bike out for a while however today the opportunity presented itself so I grasped it with both hands. It was coolish but there were a few others out on their bike.
I had solved the puzzle a while ago and today I was finally in the area. I looked around for a while with no luck. I notice that there has been some damage to the GZ from a large broken branch. I'll try again next time I'm in the area.

So it seems I missed logging this cache!! How did that happen?? Lucky I take photos of all my cache finds
I was expecting this to be a difficult puzzle to solve but it was, to my relief, quite straightforward. I solved this puzzle while sitting in our caravan at Eildon, then discovered GZ was just a short detour on my way back to Melbourne. Excellent. Another random find. I didn't have much time though, so I was hoping for an easy hide. That it was, although I remember thinking that I could easily have overlooked the hide. Perhaps I just got lucky ... TFTC

The DTMF didn't take too long to work out with my amazing hearing, well, iphone, computer and internet. With the location known, it was quick find.

Found it on a morning walk with Lost Lochie.

Well, I was glad to finally get this one found, with Mr Coffee today. I have cached in the area several times but had never managed to solve this one despite a couple of attempts. Today was the day after I had had some help to do the deed, thanks.
This puzzle was not so dastardly in the end, although it did have me trying a few different methods and options. I solved it just in time to take the final coords with me on a trip to Melbourne from Queensland and I had quite a few CJ-Curry puzzles on my hit-list!
This was the last for the afternoon and I made good use of day-light saving and the long twilight. There was no one around this place and I had a clear run at conducting a thorough search. The iPhone location was a bit flakey but I kept coming back to a certain feature which turned out to be the correct hiding place. Thanks for the fun with another of your mysteries CJ!

This turned out to be a surprisingly easy cache, mainly because I found the right tools to crack the puzzle quickly. Coordinates led me straight to GZ and the cache.

#6030 We had to head south to the city from Albury for a medical appointment and decided to make a family weekend of it by taking our daughter, The GeoPrincess, to a couple of the iconic spots around Melbourne. This was a cache that had been solved some time ago and we thought we'd make a short detour to pick it up today. Fortunately this puzzle didn't beat us this time around so a stinker[?]........maybe not for this puzzle (some of your others.....perhaps ). All was quite on the western front when we arrived at GZ and we managed to locate the cache which was in good condition. Our thanks to CJ-Curry for your dastardly puzzle and for the cache, a great deal of fun. We believe that you have relocated so we are pleased to find your caches are still active, and the best of luck in your new endeavours. Cheers [^]
How is it going in the land of the long white cloud?
Had no troubles yet.
I did peek at one solution because I thought it was simular to an unfound mystery between Mornington and Cowes GC58P9T.
Look at it and if you have any ideas I can sign it for a joint First to Find.
I think the bananas do accept cyber clues from foreigners but not locals.
Hope all is well.
By the way 80degrees tagged along with the bananas once we finally found the appropriate code buster.
Stay well

Today we had arranged with the Bananas to visit our new abode for lunch and then follow up with some caching time. As we spent longer than we should on lunch and chat we decided that clearing out a few local ones would be the best option - some for them - some for us and some for both was the plan. This was one B1 had solved so we were just along for the ride however with the co-ords in hand Mrs 80 found it quickly and as it was now dark we signed the log and headed homeward. Thanks B1 and Cj for this one.
Bleeep bleeeperdebleep! Hubby couldnt handle me trying to crack the code....have to do that when hes not around...i know i can crack it! Lol well be back soon
I solved this one a while back, identifying was was required was simple, getting the numbers out a little trickier but I took a lazy approach and found the right tool for the job rather than drive myself nuts listening to it over and over At GZ, I looked right at the hiding place as I approached and even gave it a little poke but was too trusting of my GPS under the trees, so after some scratching and searching around I returned for another look and uncovered an easy hide (doh!) TFTC - I like puzzles like this that are logical and solvable but a bit out of the ordinary - thanks!
It took a while but I finally found what was needed to crack this one. Despite that, there was a lot of 'noise' in my answer but in the end, there was enough clarity to make an educated guess and sure enough, on the second attempt I had the 'all clear'.
While out on a late arvo shopping run, I took a diversion up here and found the cache in the second or third place I looked at 17:20.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks CJ-Curry.

Once again a very interesting puzzle. Thank you CJ! Can't wait to tackle your next hides! Found today with megua. TFTC!!
Worked a few things out manually but had to resort to technology as the geochecker wouldn't give the green...discovered the error and made the trip today to find. No-one about this morning though I imagine the area could get rather busy at times... Thanks.
This was a very pleasant dastardly puzzle. I suggest someone has a tricky mind and time on their hands. Which is great for all of us. Thanks for the cache yet again.
I found a nifty app to help me solve this one. This was my third of five CJ-Curry unknown caches tonight.
I don't know about the hint, I'm not patient enough for that. So I let my fingers do the walking (well the contemporary method) to come up with a solution. Geochecker confirmed my method worked.
My first try at GZ was a no go, as the co-ords I had saved on my GPS put the cache within a nearby "prison complex". Although, I did enjoy my walk around the area. Back at home base I discovered that as usual it was human error, I had entered a wrong digit.
Coming back a few days later with the correct co-ords entered, the cache was quickly secured. Yes I walked right past it the other day. I also secured a free barely used tennis ball for my trouble.
Thanks CJ-Curry for the dastardly puzzle cache.

Figured it out quick enough, but finding time to get it, yeah...
Well, today was the day and what a beautiful day it was!
Easy find in a nice location.
Thanks for the cache and the puzzle.

The last day of August and its a stunner of a day for some caching. Today's caching run with Square_Pegs started just before sunrise and this time we headed north of the city which is an area I very rarely visit. I'd quickly worked out a solution for this on the day it was published but it would take until today for us to make up an itinerary and to have the time to come out and find it along with a whole bunch of other caches. I like this puzzle - its clever and I really enjoyed seeing the solution workout in front of me. Thanks to CJ-Curry for hiding this cache.
Poor Muttley, I bet he didn't choose to be stuck with Dick Dastardly. Thirty-four races and not a single victory!
With abl973 having cracked this nut, we were off to GZ as the daylight was begnning to disappear. At a completely deserted GZ it was a quick find.
Thanks to CJ-Curry for the cache and all your other caches that we enjoyed finding today.

Worked this out when it was published but didn't get out to collect it until today. A nice quick find once at GZ. Picked up the FTF Coin which had been left behind......
Been lucky with solving these puzzles TFTC

As always, another fantastic night caching with the The Demolition Crew. Tonights run saw us heading in a northerly direction. A few puzzles found, and some cold weather, including a bit of rain, but it did not deter us. Great to be back in action after a little break with Rebel overseas. Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their hides.

Always great to pick up a *FTF* as we continued our run in the area. TFTC.

Found on a TDC run, lots of laughs and good times had while out finding caches, I had been away in England so it was good to be back out with my caching mates finding some plastic. The weather was a bit chilly and wet but you have to expect that this time of year. No trouble with this one, as we all have several geo coins we left it for someone else. Thanks CJ-Curry for the cache.
Found this cache during a TDC Monday night cache run.
The Demolition Crew (TDC) headed out tonight for a north eastern cache run. As usual fun was had by all of us with plenty of laughs and good variety of multi, puzzle, trads and also an earth cache found. We did plenty of walking and drving and even some tree climbing. We were lucky only to get caught in the rain on a couple of occasions and as I headed home after the night was over it was pelting down so it seems we finished just in time.
TR takes the credit for solving the puzzle, and so it was added to our list for tonight. As we got into the area TR noticed it still hadn't been logged so we were pretty happy with the *FTF* .
Thanks to all the CO's who placed and maintain the caches found.

Tried to check this out but it requires technology not available to bananas. Must not be in the right click.
*FTF* Another great night out with The Demolition Crew saw us moving north. After a short break while Eric was in the UK, it was back to it tonight with a few puzzles to find. The weather was cold, and occasionally wet, but great fun was had by all. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. As we were planning the night's run I came across this puzzle. After about 5 minutes I had the co-ords so it was added to the list. As we made our way through the cache list, I noticed the FTF was still up for grabs and it just so happens, we grabbed it and resumed out regular run through the area.
