Up in Whangarei for a few days. Now that is a very cool bridge and it must be a while since we were here because we have never seen it before. No luck for us today. The hint item had been knocked over but we couldn't find anything lying on the ground.
Untangled the cache from the nearby plants. Signed as H&M. Also got to see the bridge in the up position.
Lovely view of the bridge. Lots of nice shells here too. Cache got tangled in the leaves but we untangled it. Signed as H+M. Tftc
Easy cache, It was already out of its hidey spot and tangled in the mangroves. Untangled and put back where it should be.
Spotted the likely place as we approached GZ and as we got closer we could see fishing was required. One cast and we caught the cache. Signed the log and returned the cache during a break in traffic.
Off biking now, a few to find near town. dashed across the brige in a break in the traffic, and back again after a nice quick find. Cheers.
Next part of the holiday, driving walking and biking around Whangarei and environs. Time to find a few little boxes.....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Off on an evening exercise jaunt through town. Used the good clues provided and was soon able to locate the cache. Didn't expect I was going to be doing some fishing on my run though. TFTC
Today we left Mangawhai heading towards Whangarei.
After checking into our accommodation, lunch & a rest we decided to find some caches closer to the city area.
Thanks for placing this cache MiniMaxy
Heading back home after a day caching both north and south of Whangarei. Quick find here but had to grab a tool from the car to help extract the log book. Great view of the bridge. TFTC.
Found in the mud. Macwatt jury rigged with nylon and replaced. May need attention. Thanks for the cache
Found it...not at co ords on the ground close by ...found some nylon and tied it up may need some maintenance thanks for your cache enjoyable
A couple of options here. Had a fossick around with out checking the coords. Found in the end. TFTC.
2nd time at this cache. This time it was a quick find, and we looked at the exact same spot as last time so not sure if it was replaced or we were just not paying attention.
Luckily I spotted it. Found in water. Put back best as possible but still loose
I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and today joined up with fellow Auckland cacher yorkshirekiwi83 and local caching friends tikitour for a hot summers day of caching around the city. The logs were either signed with our caching names or some combination of the letters T,V & Y for our caching names - depending on who had previously found the caches. As YK83 retrieved the cache it came off its camo and plunged to the bottom of it's hiding spot! Lucky I had a few containers in the car, so we affixed a new container, signed a new log and re-hid it! TFTC!

Decided to finish the year and see in the new year in Whangarei, Vistra and tikitour decided to join me and we spent the time grabbing caches around the region, in some cases it was just one that needed to sign in others it was all three of us, signed as TYV (or combination of those letters) or VY when it was more than 1 of us.
Quickly found the cache, or the means to get the cache, started to work it out and heard a snap, damm came out empty, there was no way we could no reach it, so we replaced the cache. TFTC

Timing is everything with this one scoring a quick find without drawing attention. But I managed it no worries. Great view of the bridge ..signed the log. Thanks for bringing me here to this place, TFTC MiniMaxy, from Mr Cuddly Brick, 16 November 2015, cache number #1063!
Was in town for the night for work. So once work done out caching I went. Thanks for placing this cache
Was a quick find. Log is wet.

Nice quick find. Great view of the new bridge - log still too wet to write in though.
Replaced log sheet while going past. Good to see who ever put up the sign, moved the cache to be able to do so!
Yes, great view. Log a wee bit damp, no surprises there after the wettest year ever !
Being hobbit sized I was a wee concerned approaching the cache hide... but no troubles in the end. T4tc
The kids thought this was pretty neat. My son was pleased with his height lol. TFTC
Quick and easy find on way home from seeing Grandy at the boat yard. Found with Wiiphee and BuckO. Tnlnsl. Tftc.
Nice view of the new bridge. Scallop and crayfish shells in the water below. Good hide.
A nice spot to take a few pics of the new draw Bridge, and another find located with Yeetrees, TFTC.
Decided to do a bit of a day tour of Northland and grab some easy drive-bys in the process. Nice view of the bridge, a pity that they choose such an ugly design. Thanks.
8.15am. Great place for a photo of the bridge, but didn't have the camera. Easy find.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
The following cache was attempted as part of KiwiFruitsNZ trip back to Auckland - involving attempting Riser5's GB1 series - after a well deserved long weekend away. A road trip that we managed to stretch to 9 hours instead of the regulation 3 hours - due to caching (planned) and holiday traffic (not planned!)
A quick easy find - guessed what we would be looking for from the description and hint.

Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
Nice quick find and while we were there, the bridge went up and down. Looks great. TFTC.
This had been on my list of handy finds for my August Streak. Finished work for another week and grabbed a quick drive by after leaving the office. T4TC!
Managed to view the bridge open up while at gz. Really neat. Pitty there's so much rubbish nearby, as spoils such a beautiful place.
After he'd worked today Mr f was happy [prepared, obliged] to take me out for my daily cache - am glad month is nearly over as am running out of broken-wrist-accessible caches lol.
Thanks MM for this cache - it would have been a suitable area to hold a CITO today!!

Another quick cache and cleverly hidden. Hung about to see if a boat might appear so I could see the bridge lift but nothing appeared. TFTC!
A quick find while spending an hour out cache hunting between rain showers. TFTC
rarely go caching at night, but it seems to be a new trend for me this week and thought this would be a lovely small detour for a break on the last leg of a long drive home... and it was well worth it! Great little spot to pull over & such a fantastic view of the bridge looking so beautiful all lit up. Thanks for the cache
Nice stop on our way to the shops, light rain but a fantastic view of the bridge. It really looks amazing in the evening with all its lights on. Cache a nice quick find. TFTC
(588) Quick find while out on a Sunday morning walk. We even got to see the new bridge open to allow a yacht to travel under. Cool bridge for Whangarei. TFTC
Photo to be uploaded of the bridge the night before it was officially opened. A good cache for my 800th!
nice photo on my Smartphone of the lights on the New bridge the night before the bridge opens tomorrow.
Up in Whangarei for the night so as to see a Rep in the morning so a little bit of night caching was the order of the evening.
Nice hide in the dark

Quick stop after school holiday movie session. Thought I was going to be a short arse for this one so had reinforcement in the boot of the car - fortunately not required
Tranquil waters under the bridge this morning. Not long till the opening ...TFTC
