We had a plan today to pick up as many well favourited caches as possible and if they included Wingaap placed caches then all the better. So off to the Crown at Dayboro and work our way home. We also were on a secret mission which should be successful. I have had a great day caching in the beautiful Samford Valley. Again a masterpiece of a hide .THanks for the cache.

Found another great piece of Wingaap art. These pieces are constructed so well and in great condition. Loving the effort put into these caches.

Revived by an after lunch nap we came out for a few more caches and these were they. Thanks whovian for placing them for us and others to find. A quick look around and we were lucky to spot the cache. Signed the log before replacing. All good here.
Cheers and happy caching!

08-Apr-21
TFTC. We had started the day with a Barb caches as we travelled the local roads after the Mega. WE were heading back to Dayboro stopping along the routes collecting more smilies. Very impressed by these hides

08-Apr-21
We made the decision to spend another week at the Dayboro showgrounds to give ourselves the opportunity to find more of the many caches that have been placed in the area. Finally the rain has nearly become non existent and bar for one short heavy burst it has been a rain free day. The area is still showing signs of all the rain we have had recently with the creek flowing fast and in places the roads are covered. We found all of the caches that we attempted today but one. Tftc whovian, made the find here in short order thanks to spot on co ords.

Dayboro Day, Final Day
Today we chose to retrace our tracks to look for caches we had passed previously
The finds were mostly along backroads. It's always good caching in the country.
This also included a drive to Lake Samsonvale to complete the AL
Thankyou wingaap for placing this cache.

Find #2358 with Palopinto at 10:56 after a visit to the Mega.

A cute container, just as we've come to expect from the Master.

Thanks for the cache, wingaap.

Today with Day 3 of the Dayboro Mega event (final Easter weekend day), I returned back to Dayboro to attempt a solo yet full day of finding the various solved *Geosaurus* and *We* ?? *Geo* geoart, as well as any other interesting cache types. Time was spent south around Samsonvale, north-east around Mount Pleasant, and east around Rush Creek. The rain continued to fall, but it came in patches that still allowed some pleasant geocaching, yet somehow the rain knew when I was farthest from the car, for which it then fell heavily. I met a few more Geocachers during the day, and as I finally lost light, it was time for the final closing ceremony of the Mega, and an opportunity to get dry from the day's activities.

During my travels around the vicinity, I made a stop here, and the cache was a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and it was another great cache construction by the CO. Thanks whovian aka. wingaap for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found at 12:03:00 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
Heck - we earned this one! The vegetation must have changed over the past 7 years as we had a bit of trouble getting to GZ and the wet conditions was not assisting us one bit.
Looking at some of the logs that people have written, it seems that they think this cache is part of the "Horse" series [:o)]
Thanks wingaap

Found by Mary and David, in company with pprass, at 12:00. Getting to know and recognise these caches of yours. Enjoyed this one. Our thanks to wingaap.

Found with EngPhil after attending the final day of the Mega event at Dayboro.

It has been a very, very long time since I found or logged a cache! After attending the mega this weekend and revisiting the idea of finding plastic boxes in the woods, I decided to check the map for what was around as we drove to my workplace to check on potential flooding.

EngPhil seemed delighted that I actually suggested we stop and look for something! I had a feeling this would be a pretty neat container so I thought it would be worth a look, and I was right. Smile I was the first to spot it, and EngPhil signed the log for us.

TFTC, and thanks for (maybe) getting me back into caching again!

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.

Not the best day for caching due to the weather but we still had fun slipping n sliding.
Thanks for the cache.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??

Second day of mega and the weather turned off. We are still out there and caching, just getting wet, but thats all part of the game. A lot of caches found again in the Dayboro area before we left in the afternoon.

Just picking up some caches for the afternoon while attending the Dayboro mega. TFTC.

04-Apr-21
On a dismal and wet afternoon we worked out a caching run with ilook4geo which included a mix of traditional, challenge and puzzle caches. All containers were OK and each log was dry. Sometimes full caching names were used and sometimes it was just initials. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache, which was a pleasure to find.

Found as part of the Capital Crunches run around the caches in Dayboro. A good weekend at the mega. Thanks for another cache....

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.

Thanks.

24,085. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!

With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 4. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way This was the first stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks whovian !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Then ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Caching up with some mega caching.
This was a great little series that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Thanks Whovian.

Very cool Smile Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize. It was a wet day today but we still managed to grab a lot of caches as we navigated the rain and puddles.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

Solved these over the last couple of months in evening after evening and hit the trails today. It was quite frantic at times, but spirits kept up with the 7 of us - Kittykatch, Joolay, barb2e, LuckyLion, smittengranny, Sol de Lune and I.

Sorry for the generic logs, but this was a bit much for my brain. I will try to add my field notes where I made them.

TFTC and the whole series. It was fun working on the puzzles and also getting to know more of this part of the country.

Firstly I will apologise for the generic log.

Dora the Explorer!, Selva Girls and I came to Dayboro today to turn some caches into smileys.

Working as a team, we were able to find 43 caches in fairly quick time. This is one of those caches.

Most of the caches were found easily enough although a couple required a fair while before it was found.

After a short walk to GZ, a very clever cache was quickly found. Classic Wingaap Very Happy. Log signing duties completed, we quickly returned as found and headed back to the geomobile for more adventures.
