didn't realise I could drive all the way here but enjoyed the walk.No horses in sight today
Nice cach although FriwiNZ found this back in 2014 so it was just me. This was the last cache for today because the rain started to bucket down TFTC
On our way to Auckland TEMBO! and I visited the "Racecourse" and had time enough for a little rest and watched a training of horses at the course.

Wau, that was a nice campground, with seaview. In the morning I was going for the one nearby and than 3 boxes on the coast. Head problem with that one's because you must go in the plants.

Out on a caching afternoon with Yvettetb & Thetravelbugtribe before Cyclone Gabrielle hits, stopped and grabbed this cache. Easy find and back to the car. TFTC
Great afternoon caching in the blustering wind before Cyclone Gabrielle is due. Quick easy find at GZ with Nessvab & The Travelbug Tribe.
On a caching afternoon with yvettetb and nessvab, trying to log a few caches before the cyclone hits. It was getting pretty windy but still no rain.
This was an easy find, and the log quickly signed before we got too blasted by all the sand in the wind. Tftc

No racing taking place today but plenty of muggles parked up in this spot ready to spend some time at this lovely beach. A nice quick find to end up our afternoon spent here. Now back to the car for some refreshments and to continue north on our christmas day adevnture.
In town for the weekend, and was gonna grab this one yesterday arvo - but GZ was over populated with surfers (in various stages of undress) … so we revisited this morning while enjoying a very pleasant wander along the beach. Thanx ftc.
A day at the races with Bay of Islands Rotary so had to find the cache on this day. 20 August

Gosh this road(?) could do with a bit of smoothing out, the van will probably need a new wheel alignment as Mr Geckoh seemed to be hitting more potholes than he was missing. Cache quickly located and then we bumped our way back out! TFTC

We’d usually go to the new year races but missed it this year. Cache dry and where it should be
Out and about for some geo-time away from the whānau. Quick find before an aborted attempt at the nearby trail. Thanks for the racing cache!
Due to the Covid 19 lockdown & the need for everyone to keep within their "bubble", same reason as playgrounds are off limits, so are physical geocaches until further notice. Try some cracking puzzle/mystery caches, and get find the finals later, when it is safe.

Unusually without our canine companions today and remembered the caches around here were not dog friendly so decided to do a spot of caching on our way home. Parked right across from this hide but had to wait out, ironically, a lady walking her 2 dogs. After that a quick find. Thanks for the hide SaltyCacheNut!
Visiting Ruakaka for an afternoon at the races. After loosing on the horses we set about changing our luck by picking a couple of winners (caches) nearby. Needed to wait for cars and trucks to pass on by. Made the find during a lull in the vehicles exiting. All good. TFTC 
The spot was teeming with overnighters when we arrived, but after doing the nearby series the area was clear when we returned.

This brings back memories, near on 10 years ago we had been staying at Waipu and had been to the new years highland games. We came up here a couple of days later for the race's and I remember Winston Peters turning up wearing a suit. This was the height of summer and we were struggling to keep our beers cold in the shade, but this dude didn't even break a sweat. Great to come back today and see the sprinklers getting the track ready for another meet, TFTC
Parked up nearby for the night. This was on our list today. Changeable weather - sun and rain. A few muggle cars parked close by but all empty. Thanks for the cache SaltyCacheNutZ.
