The cache is not there, we DNFd it also, the CO says it has been removed and the cache page has been wiped with just a notation left. There is already a 'needs maint' on this with multiple DNF's, many finds actually read as DNFs also with the wrong log type selection! So the only option left is a 'Needs Archive" if there is nothing to find and nothing to log, it seems the CO's intention is for this to be archived back when it was disabled?
The ruin is a great example of the hard times out here 100 years ago. AND it actually has a sign on the roadside telling visitors the name of the homestead!

What are you talking about Prohibited area?
The Woomera Village is still open to the public.
See my attached picture.. shows the area you are allowed in... that includes this cache

Looked where the clue said and lots of other spots but no sign of the cache.

check it out.

As much as he would have liked to (pic) we said let's push on. No!, you can't do the place up!
Clear skies to bluebottle-63 from TeamAstro.

My GPS had me at a point a couple of metres on the side of the tree away from the building. Firmly believing that no one would put a cache on the actual building (which has links to Len Beadell), my search concentrated solely on the tree, looking for the bison tube attached to one of the higher branches perhaps. I obviously never found it, and had to come back the next day after accessing the internet and reading the hint .
No swaps, and quite frankly I think Brooke is a moron who needs to be dragged back here and flogged while being made to scrub his/her idiotic tag off! [:(!].

Love those old homesteads and other old ruins. Shame that a lot is destroyed over the years. Cache was easily found and in good condition. TFTC bluebottle-63.
Found on Flippers Anniversary adventure tour. Quick one here.

Ah, so that's where the stockman came from. Had a poke around the ruins after finding the cache before setting up the track for an aborted attempt on the Marsella Hill cache. TFTC.
Day 2 of the trek to Darwin, starting at Port Augusta and finishing at Marla, grabbing caches and munzees along the way. TFTC.
Must have been something to see back in the day when the homestead was being used as It would have taken a bit to build. Thanks bluebottle 63 for the stop and cache.
We were coming into Woomera after driving down from William Creek and arrived here late afternoon - great time to be at the ruins with the afternoon sun giving them a warm glow.
Hint helped immensely in locating this one.

After completing our 2nd trip around Australia, we are now heading towards Alice Springs.
Left the caravan at Pimba road house, and headed for Roxby Downs and beyond.
Another piece of history, shame about the graffiti.
Cache was found quickly, after reading the hint.
Many thanks for the hunt today, bluebottle-63.

So many old stone ruins scattered around the South Australian countryside. Wish they could talk and tell us about the hardships and the people that lived there. The hint was very handy and led me to the cache OK.
Thanks.
Thanks.

A nice find at an interestign spot on our way out of Woomera for a detour to Roxby Downs and Andamooka. Found on our Adelaide to Murray Bridge via Uluru road trip for Oz Mega 2014. TFTC!!!
I was headed up to Port Augusta for a kayak event but somehow afterwards I forgot to stop driving.
1,700kms later and after 83 smileys including 1 FTF were locus cache'd, 1 event attended and sadly 7 DNFs and a dead roo, I arrived back home with both the camera and the phone full of pictures of this amazing country in which we live .
These buildings always remind me that people can have dreams larger than what reality can sustain.
Great scenery from here but such a shame that there is so much graffiti on the building.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."

Located by Lead 'n Lace on the southern leg of our northern trip. Our 750th find, same number as our Geo Cruiser!!!. An interesting site in a harsh landscape. The large hearth stones must have taken some effort to move and set in place.
Cheers

We had camped overnight at the Pimba Rest area & went out to find the caches in the Woomera area before heading to Port Augusta.
This was a nice quick find using a very good hint.
