Yes, am aware of the disaster here, and this may be the end of a faithful geocache.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Edgecumbe, such a sad wet day, bless you all.

Just writting a note for further down line. That geocache may not be there anymore as the wall that had the mural on it has also gone due to Edgecumbe flooding.
Cool piece of artwork, just able to spot the cache on approach so a very quick retrieve.

Nice sneaky one, walked past that many times and didn't even know there was anything there haha thanks!
Smallest one that i have found so far. Great little tricky lil blighter. In good terms said even though We found it i have to say " screw it"
Just on a little trip out with no particular destination in mind. This was my 5th stop and yip - spotted from the car. Made short work of the formalities thanks to my trusty tweezers, cheers Dominic-Aiden - I always enjoy finding these little guys.
Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/).
115 cachers currently make up this [Closed](https://www.facebook.com/help/220336891328465#What-are-the-privacy-options-for-groups) group and have already organised various events and excursions thanks to the connectivity facebook provides. Please check us out if you haven't already.

Quick find but then struggled to get log out, got there in the end, thanks
On the way back home after a road trip around the East Cape and of course collecting caches on the way.
As both Mr and Mrs NZT had lived in Edgecumbe when younger (no we lived there at different times and didn't meet each other here) we just had to attempt the caches here.
We had already dnf'd the other cache just down the road so we REALLY needed this one to get at least ONE smiley in Edgecumbe.
Mr NZT THANKFULLY made the quick find and returned to the car to sign the log. Cache was returned by a VERY relieved set of cachers!
TFTC and assisting us to get a smiley in Edgecumbe

This one is tricky! Not what I'm use to finding and looking out for! But got there in the end
In town visiting relatives. Went for a morning stroll to attempt to get this one.
Unfortunately we failed to.locate it, so either we're rusty at this (a definite possibility) or else it's gone AWOL.
Maybe next time.

Yes, indeed, it was missing, must've been the one that got away

Amazing! Our first hunt, the kids and I love it...might be our new weekend ventures. Thank you!
A very quick find and a short detour on our way through Edgecumbe while on our way back to Tauranga. Interesting artwork across the road, TFTC!
Tricky. Another dnf today. Seemed obvious and gps right on the nose but no find. Still new at this so will look again.
Another nice find today, while on a geocaching trip around the area.
Hard to write on the log - left a stamp, but may be a smudge!

This is a fun mural, something which adds to the township's character. The cache is ideally placed to appreciate it. TFTC
#366 - Making a round trip from Papamoa to Awakeri. I really wanted to get some caching in today - but the weather was against us. This was the only one i tried as you could actually park right next to cache! Thanks for bringing us here, have never actually been here, driven past lots but never stopped in.

I never expect an easy nano but I spotted this as I got out of the car. Cool mural. I was 4 living in whakatane when the great earthquake struck so don't remember the event but I recall seeing some of the damage. TFTC.
A fantastic artist ...I love looking at his various artworks in the area. TFTC
The fish were biting today. Last time we didn't even get a bite. It's funny what a different day can do. Today I spotted it before we even pulled up in the car. Logbook is full. TFTC

Day 7 (and the final day) of the KiwiFruitsNZ/Vamber Xmas Road Trip saw us drive from Whakatane to Auckland, with the aims of securing more caches towards our GIO Licence and making SandGropers event at Albert Park by 5pm.
A short drive and another cache to add to our swag!

This cache formed part of our return trip home with KiwifruitsNZ back to Auckland, from the beautiful Bay of Plenty.
An interesting mural across the road! Quick find at GZ. Thanks for the hide!

Easy to find we have past this sculpture many times and never stopped to consider that a geocatch would be there !!!
Whakatane trip, the mission was 48 geocaches in 24 hours. It was epic, we got 49. This was Number 16 find. Nice mural, 1st nano on trip.
A nice quick find, early in the morning, even in the dark. I remember them putting this sculpture in.TFTC
Out for a full days mission to clean up as many cache's as possible in and around Whakatane, that I still haven't found. Early start this morning and was at the first GZ about 30mins after sunrise, while called it a day 20mins after the sun had gone down. Great day out and just about completed what I set out to do, a couple of DNF's so will be back again one day.
Great mural, small search revealed the cache.

Quick easy find for us today as we cache our way to Whakatane for the long weekend. TFTC
Loved that mural but not sure that we have ever seen fish that look quite like those ones. Was expecting it to be in one place but we were wrong and Mr S found it.
Thanks Dominic-Aiden.
Thanks Dominic-Aiden.
Our first cache on a short road trip in the Bay of Plenty. Pretty quick find TFTC
Nice mural, enjoy viewing his artwork around the various Bay of Plenty towns, many thanks for the cache.
3/11/13. There was some family gathering going on in the house right by the cache but there was a nice bit of tree cover so we grabbed and signed and returned it without anyone noticing two tired oldies having a rest. tftc
Found it. Got a few strange looks from the locals. Quickly had the cache in hand. Took a bit more time to get the log out of the cache holder. Great day for caching. TFTC.
A slight detour after working at the nearby factory...saw what I wanted as I approached, but had a bit of trouble getting log out, eventually got there. TFTC
quick find, almost park an grab, saw a car parked right by as it i drove past done a U turn, and the car carried on. quick retrieval before some kids came along.
After a much appreciated hot drink at the nearby coffee shop, arrived at GZ just as school had finished. Waited in car for a few muggles to pass, then had a look while distracted phone users wandered past. Fortunately a very quick find and easy to do unnoticed. Thanks.
A convenient stop on the way to a Zespri meeting. Muggled by the contractor who putts up the netting on the orchard. Had to tell him why I was looking at the river. Was also watched by a group drinking on the other side of the road but fortunately was pretty much out of sight at GZ. TFTC

Fishing for the last few caches for our August challenge and luckily they are still biting!!
An easy one that didn't require too much searching, that gave us more time to take a closer look at the fish, Marc sure does know how to make a dull wall interesting!!

Day 24 of the 31 Days of August cache challenge; a 50+ km circuit visit of new caches across the Eastern Bay. A lovely, almost spring day for a drive. I have to admit that it feels like ages since I've found multiple caches.
Jokingly said to the niece that I could see the cache... walked up to the hide and put my hand on it. That was a quick find and it gave us time to take a few photos. Apparently, Marc is going to be working on some art projects in Rotorua soon. The Rotorua Council is looking at brightening up the new four-lane road heading into the city with artwork. TFTC.

I too like the mural and took a seat to admire it. Nice cache - these ones often take longer to return than they do to fi d. Now off to Thornton. TFTC
Great mural to look at while hunting for the cache. Luckily it wasn't raining too much. Nice camo. Now on to find another painting of Marc's at the Roto Cafe - Oh and find a cache or three on the way! Tftc

Well, we got to fish this one out first...had just got home from caching in this area, but well, we gotta do what we gotta do..and were rewarded with a clean log. Great hide in a great place well deserving of a cache. We didn't know Marc helped with this mural also..no wonder it's so good. Thanks a lot.
Nice easy find thanks DnA.went past here already this afternoon didnt know it was there
