Trouve Easy find, we dried the log !My friend said something I love to hear when gocaching : oh Ive never been here before !Tftc
What a gem of a place! Would have wandered in here without a cache to follow. Thanks!
On our way back to Nelson we stopped here and there to walk and cache, long time sitting in the car is nothing for me, so great to see so many caches out here Found wellTftc
The last one for the evening. Its been a long but most enjoyable day. I am back to being a late logger -grr. Apologies.Day 1 of The Wellingtonians are back tour, with with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find we decided we had to return. Plus another few days of laughter, usually at my expense .During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the ad lab and for this cache bumandworker.Day 1 of The Wellingtonians are back tour, with with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. (# 8141) Day 1 of a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. A day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY.
Thanks bumandworker for bringing me here.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day one of this trip took us all the way out to Cape Farewell and then back to Tākaka. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.
Most of our find here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.
---
Thanks to bumandworker for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.
Day 1, and we were driving from Nelson up to the most northerly cache on the Mainland, before then making our way back to Takaka for the night.
We had just eaten a rather good meal at the Dangerous Kitchen, and with the evening being so mild we then decided to have a drive around to gather a few more caches before retiring for the night.
No problems getting to GZ and making the find at the end.
Thank you for setting this one up.

GAR parked at the lake to let out the dogs and I looked on the caching app just in case and there I see a hide not far from the car. So a find needed to be made. Nice little lake! Thanks for another smile on the geomap.

In Nelson for some relative's birthdays. Working remotely most of the week, but took today off to cache. My eldest grandson and I went for a drive to Takaka and back (from Stoke) to grab a few challenges, do some walks, and top up my 1.5/1.5 find numbers. 38 caches all up including 5 labs. Cache easily found. A lovely spot to sit for a while. TFTC

Second found on that day and second to log late today.
Some dog walkers nearby but it was early morning, so otherwise I had the place for myself.

Thankfully I read earlier logs which pointed me further away from the lake than what my GPS was saying. Didn't take too long then. Tftc
Think this was the one with an old saturated log which I removed to help keep newer log less wet. Had barely finished when the council mower rocked up. Tftc
We came into town for dinner, then stopped by the lake afterwards. It was very nice and quiet, so no trouble grabbing the cache. It is a little dirty inside. I just grabbed the new log and signed it. TFTC.

Our first day of a long weekend in Golden Bay for my birthday. Staying in Pohara in a beachfront cabin Life is good
I never even knew this little lake & beautiful spot existed right in the heart of Takaka & I came here 1 day a fortnight for 5 years for work!!!! Loved this little oasis right in suburbia

Well, this was a bit of a surprise. Neither myself nor RG72 knew this spot existed. And it’s a lovely tranquil spot as well. That is if you discount the slightly demand gang of ducks who are looking for a feed as soon as you sit down.
We strolled on off to GZ but there was a lady walking VERY SLOWLY toward us. Well, it might take 10 minutes to get the cache at this rate. Her two dogs made themselves known, and they were friendly. Once she had moved on it was a quick find. TFTC B&W, great spot. We came back here again on our drive out of town for a spot of lunch before hitting the hill.
RG1972 and I are off on a bit of an extended weekend trip to Golden Bay or, more specifically, Pohara camping ground.
The initial reason for the trip is RGs birthday on Sunday, although we have both been working pretty hard and looking forward to an extended break anyway.
So before (and in-between) shopping in Takaka and checking out the local businesses around our accomodation, we grabbed a few caches. Not too many, because that is not the focus of this weekend. But the weather was good and we found a couple of spots that even lifelong Tasman resident RG72 didn’t know existed. A fun day, thanks all COs.

It was soaking wet so couldn't open the logbook... have added a waterproof log sheet to keep this going.
Thanks for the peaceful cache location

Found with a group of friends spending 12 days in Motueka and Takaka tramping and biking. Wonderful scenery. TFTC
Found with Tregearp whilst on our way out to Puponga. All in good order, thatnks B&W for another cache.
Beautiful area, met a walker and her dog. Spent some time talking. The dogwas very friendly.
GPS led me straight to the Cache. Notice a box with poison on the ground
Thank you for the Cache

This one is just down the road from where we are staying so was to be the last of the day . It has ben a great way to spend my birthday grabbing a few caches and admiring the different terrain of this area. Thanks for the cache.
A quick find on a beautiful winters evening with the late sun shining on the lake - very pretty thanks for bringing us back here and the cache
What a great reserve and a nice surprise. I never knew this lake was here. Thanks for bringing us bumandworker.
Quick find on our way home from Pohara. What a lovely little reserve. Thanks bumandworker for placing the cache here.
After reading the last log I was expecting a more difficult find, but I had my hand on it straight away. Fine little reserve here, but a shame so little public access in NZ.
Wow! We must have looked for 20 minutes before finding it. Was just about to log a DNF and then K-Dawg spied it. Coming at dusk probably hurt our cause. Tftc!
This was my first cache this decade. Happy New year and decade. This is day five of our trip, we stayed in Collingwood last night.
JDScout and I are on a campervan holiday from Christchurch to Collingwood to Havelock and back home to Christchurch. Geocaching is on my agenda. We both like biking and walking too. Thanks bumandworker for placing this geocache it is find 8107 for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Had hoped to get some caches yesterday up at Rameka track but unfortunately too many people and not enough time.
So up early today to collect a couple before everyone starts moving. A lovely little lake. I heard later from our host that this used to be very clean and the local kids would swim in it. Unfortunately now it has a lot of run off from local storm water. At least the ducks are loving it. Tha is for bringing me here and TFTC

What better place to stop at for a lunch time break and a quick cache find. TFTC bumandworker.
After finding the challenge cache over the other side of the lake, we made our way back to this one and finally made the find with the duck lady having moved on. The ducks however decided we would make a good replacement until they discovered we had nothing for them. Dislodged the worms from the container before returning to its home. tftc
A nice & peaceful spot for afternoon tea. Cache finding with tui birdsong above - tftc
I think there's just about time for a couple more caches before the light goes completely. In any case I need to be getting back to the bach for dinner.
My first time stopping at the Lake; I've often wondered what it was like having driven past the end of the road leading to it many times.
A worthy stop for sure and a shame it was not earlier in the day, but some nice evening colours as the sun sets.
Cache found without any fuss, but no TB was in.

Circling around here. Lawnmowers and blowers in full action nearby. Thanks for the cache bumandworker
Great park...all to ourselves found all good noted TB signed and returned thanks B& W
I found this cache together with my partner Pityulino during our holiday in New Zealand. The last stop on our trip was in Takaka and this cache was the closest to the place where we stayed. On the last day of our stay we went to find this cache and said good bye to a travel bug that accompanied us during our two months of travel in New Zealand. TFTC!
Found it on our trip to pohara cool cache. TFTC found it with dad and my younger brother. TFTC
nice wee lake a few duck getting blown around, would be a nice spot on a sunny calm day.
Of the many times we have been to Takaka we have never made the effort to come here - We wonder how the lake came to be - is it manmade or is it a natural feature - I can see some more googling happening later. Thanks bumandworker for the cache
Taybeedragon Zara and I are gallivanting around Golden Bay taking advantage of her Royal Majesty's cake day. Happy birthday Liz!
The dragon and I work best with her driving and me navigating. But every now and then this happens: "Next turn left" Taybee dragon goes straight ahead" "okay, let's not do that left, turn the next left". So we walked back across the reserve, around the back of the pond - its a bit small to really call a lake! In the nearby house muggles were having breakfast, but this CO is a cunning bugger, and the muggles never saw us.

Its a long weekend so The Seagnoid, Zara and I are off for an adventure to Golden Bay. The Seagnoid is navigator and Zara and I pair up getting us from A to B?? Its Monday and there is a chilly wind around. Must be cold The Seagnoid is wearing a hat.
OK Im in trouble - not listening to The Navigator so dont turn when requested so we approach from a different angle. Grass very wet and long, glad Im wearing my gummies. This is close by a house but we are under a little cover to snag and tag this one. Cheers. So what is the difference between a lake and a pond I wonder?

Parked in the nearby carpark and stopped to find this cache on our way back from the 24 in XXIV challenge. Thanks, now its time for some lunch.
We enoyed a short walk next to the lake after finding this cache, then came back later ito have morning tea sitting on the bench next to the car park.
Took 3 of us to search but Geodad found it. Felt a bit overlooked and uncomfortable but we weren't spotted by anyone except the muggle ducks. TFTC
I was a little apprehensive about looking for this cache by torchlight when I saw the nearby establishment but in the end it was straight forward and the only light needed was away from their line of vision. This was our last find for the day.
Thank you bumandworker.
Thank you bumandworker.
Our last find for the day. Not sure if we should do this after hours but it proved no problem. Thank you bumandworker
A dnf this morning but there was a short length of knotted green twine hanging from a branch where my GPSr was indicating ground zero
In Takaka for the weekend picking up a cache or two. Thanks to all those that have placed caches out there it made our holiday just that much more interesting. In town to day looking around love the lake
And finally the much talked about trip for the Heaphy Track is underway. A few months ago the work sports committee decided this years adventure training trip would be New Zealand's longest of the Great walks; 78 kms from Collingwood end, emerging at Karamea somewhat older, more tired and wiser? We'll see.
But first. Get to Pohara for overnight accommodation at the top 10 and a St Patrick's night in Takaka for a feed and a few glasses of the cold, black wet stuff.....once a year can't be that bad surely.
In the town and grabbed the van keys as when 20 plus people walk into a small pub for a feed there can only be one outcome, a fairly long wait.....and a chance for a few 'impromptu' caches that made their own way onto the preloaded G P S.
From across the lake from the nearby Challenge cache to over here for this one. Found easily enough in a true C O type hiding place

After weeks of training our preparation is about to pay dividends and the company I work for is sending 19 of us to spend four days and three nights on the Heaphy Track as part of a Team Building/Leadership/Get to know each other exercise. We start the track on the 18th of March, but as four of us are Geocachers it would be a shame not to make the most of this opportunity to indulge in our obsession. Over today and the next four days Capperz, GH6710, Kiwimykl and Raisinpig will jointly, individually or any other combination search for and log caches during our travels. In most cases the actual logs will be signed by one of us with our individual GC names, but we may just use our initials being C, G, K and R.
After sorting out our 'digs' for the night and grabbing a couple of Pohara caches, we came into Takaka for a meal and to celebrate St Patrick's Day. As capperz said below, we anticipated a long wait at the pub restaurant with the rest of our group hitting it en-masse, so along with capperz and GH6710,we targeted a bunch of local caches while the restaurant caught up with the backlog.
This was in the same area as the 24 in XXIV Challenge cache that capperz and GH6710 both qualified for but I didn't and once found, is typical of the CO's work in that it is not the cache, but the location that is interesting.
Thanks for taking me somewhere I would not have normally found if left to my own devices B&W.

A quick easy find, and we replaced the mushy sodden log with a waterproof log sheet. TFTC
A quick park and grab tonight.
Found over Waitangi Weekend in Golden Bay. A great spot for caching.
