IT's been a while now, and I think everyone who is going to log will have logged. Thanks once again to all the cache placers for 2013, all the nominees and people who attended the awards. Also, thanks to all the awards sponsors too.
Congratulations to the creators of Black Hawk Down, but it's a pity us non-premium members can't visit it.
Thanks LouiseAnn for organising a terrific event. We enjoyed catching up with other geocachers and heard some amusing stories of interesting finds and hides. Well done to all those who won prizes, we have almost finished the Bay Trail (Nutbear, BorisB & Natasha) and have loved everyone one of them. A great turn out to a well organised event.
Great to catch up with cachers met at past events or group assaults as well as making contact with cachers who are new or who I have never met. It was great to hear about some of wonderful caches that have been placed in Victoria. Great day. Thanks heaps!!!
Always fun to catch up with some of the usual characters, and make new friends. Sadly couldn't stay long as we are setting up the retail shop, literally around the corner from this location. Thanks to LouiseAnn for another fun event - I look forward to next years!
Found with nirgalagrin... now I have my own account.

We knew it was a good turnout when we couldn't find a space in the Parklands parking area, and it wasn't because of tardiness, as we were on time. The girls quickly found kids of roughly their own ages to spend time with, leaving the adults to mingle and catch up with as many fellow cachers as possible before the awards ceremony. As it was, that was only a tiny fraction of the crowd present. It was fantastic seeing you all there.
If our experiences completing Black Hawk Down are any indicator of the quality of their hides, Nutbear, Boris B & Natasha thoroughly deserve all the awards they took out, and I need to put the Bay Trail on my 'must cache' list. And as always, the rest of the winners and nominees give us a great picking list of the best caches our State has to offer. I didn't have enough time to visit more than about a third of the nominated hides beforehand this year, so there are plenty still to find.
LouiseAnn, thanks for all of the hard work you put into planning the event, and managing the awards. It was, again, above and beyond the call of duty.
Oh, and it was great to see Dog-gone there fleetingly for, I think, only his second event.

Again, no choice for me but to be here. Thanks goodness it wasn't as warm as last year.
I nearly forgot to log this event, however now it is done (4months) later. The Coffee's had a great time and this is an inspiration to lift the quality of cache hides. We offer many thanks to LouiseAnn for the event and look forward to next year.

Happy to log as the sole representative for Bendigo after the chauffeur offered to pick me up from the train. Unfortunately we have not cached in the areas for most of the nominees this year so we have a lot of good caching to look forward too. Thanks for a great event Louise, I didn't get to speak to many people - I'll make up for that at the Mega. [^]
Thanks LouiseAnn and all the other cacher who was involve to making this event possible.
I found the event really wonderful, I like to meet other geocachers around the world.
It's was nice to meet old German/Australien Geocacher.
Thanks for the BBC.
A big thank you to everyone, you were all so nice to me.
Thanks for the cache event.

My mum and dad brought me down because one of my caches was lucky enough to be nominated (WOW!)- thank you very much to who ever it was who nominated and also voted for my cache. It was a BIG surprise for me and my whole family. I like to put out some caches for people to enjoy and I think that some people must have liked Above & Beyond . I'd like to say congratulations to the people who won and LouiseAnn it was a fun event. Thank you again.

In the company of skullracing and morally supporting the Geo-Princess seeing as she was nominated for 'Best First Hide' we just had to be there.
After only arriving home from the Gold Coast late the night before, a 6am start for our Melb run was a shocker
Being extremely tired, unfortunately I wasn't very sociable at all - so apologies to everyone for the lack of chatting. I saw many people I would have loved to met and talk to but this will have to wait for another day.
The event ran smoothly - well done LouiseAnn for all your hard work. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and those who won!!
All in all a great event

Another great awards event with no surprises for the winners, well done to all who won and who had been nominated. Had completed most of the winning caches, and the rest is now at the top of my list to find next. Great to catch up with alot of familiar faces as well as finally put a face to the some other famous names.
Big thank you to LouiseAnn for arranging and hosting the event today, outstanding effort once again.
I find these awards quite motivating and am keen to place some more this year, hopefully with a bit of uniqueness to challenge the community.

The advantage of an event like this is the bananas are limited in the number of treasures that can be found. This refines them and later distills them into an even more potent list of good treasure.
Last year's best were still being solved some weeks before this year's nominations were sort. In preparation for this year the bananas visited and attempted just over 60 of the nominations or part of.
Wow is the response but were aided that nearly 80% were in close proximity to our regular commute.
The standard remains high although few regional nominations were given this year. Hope for many next year.
Thank you for all attending, talking, and generally catching up and hope you enjoyed the big day out as much as the city fruit.

22/02/2014 12:43 Thanks again to Louise Ann for organising a great event. I was, as usual, running around quite a bit before the event so was late to arrive. Still in time for the awards though! This certainly seems to be a good way to get the quality up of caches ! Met skullracing again all the way from NSW who was down for the event. Seems amazing to me that folks happily drive interstate but as he said, its not all that long to get to Melbourne now with the freeway and bypasses. I was thinking about going for a local cache or two but was distracted by that other location based game Ingress. Caching is really a game best enjoyed in the company of friends. I was looking forward to this event for some time, had spent some time looking back over the last year, which caches I had enjoyed the most. After a bit of a chat with a few people new to me, the awards started and I was very happy to see my nomination for cache of the year get up and win. A well deserved prize for one of the best caches around. Anyway, after the event, hung about for a lot longer then I expected, funny how easy you lose track of time when talking about all sorts of cacher related fun.
A Massive thanks and congratulations must go to LouiseAnn for putting on yet another great event and also congratulations go to all the winners, Especially BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for hiding so many great caches.

We would like to thank LouiseAnn for a great event. There is a lot of work gone into the preparation and research for a day like this. Nice location and it all came together extremely well. Always great to catch up on the names we read about on the log sheet. Meet new ones and catch up on some old ones. Great idea to acknowledge those that have kept and maintained such a high standard in the game.
Thanks so much for putting in all the effort LouiseAnn and making it a great day

Had a great time renewing some acquaintances and meeting some new caching teams. Congratulations to all the winners - looks like I better add Bay Trail to my "to do" list! Also thanks to LouiseAnn for organising the event - Great job!
An awesome day!! So nice to cache up with familiar faces and attempt to gain hints from COs. Congrats to all the winners! Can't wait to do the bay trail!! Thanks to the organisers!!
Thanks for organising this event. Unfortunately didn't quite make it to the start of the awards but was super stoked to have been nominated for my first cache. Put some faces to names and found out more about trackables.
Oh false and fickle fates! As luck would have it I'm actually in town for this event - but will be otherwise occupied in another park not 30 minutes away, with no chance of time off for good behaviour. Oh well, them's the breaks! Hope it all goes well, and good luck to all those nominated.
I am sorry, but what I hoped not to eventuate, did indeed happen. Sorry LouiseAnn & the rest of the attendees.....I hope all goes well for the event.

Attended Thanks for such a great event. Myself & my daughter loved the event. We saw heaps of TB's, dropped one off ourselves & collected one. My lucky daughter was the youngest geocacher here & she loved the gift for being so. I look forward to the next awards day!

Wow! What a well organized event and what a great turn out. Victorian cachers certainly are raising the bar on quality caches and I have a long list of caches to search for now. My 1st Aussie event and it was great to finally get amongst it and meet some people. A generally friendly bunch. Thanks LouiseAnn for the event. It was marvelous.
A great event. Fantastic to catch up with old and new friends alike.
Thanks LouiseAnn.
Thanks LouiseAnn.
We had a great time at the event, thanks and well done to LouiseAnn for organising it and congrats to the winners of the awards. We now have the baytrail on our to do list. It was great to chat to other cachers and to even pick the brains of a couple of our nearby puzzle COs for hints . Swapped a few TBs. tfte.

An enjoyable event with some worthy winners and some mayhem with spot prizes too. Good to catch up with some caching friends and exchange a few puzzle hints, and to drop off a couple of geocoins that have been with me for a while (and discover a whole lot more too). Thanks LouiseAnn for organising another successful VCotY Awards day
A well organized event and with a great turn out. Dropped a TB and picked one up.
Thanks LouiseAnn.
Thanks LouiseAnn.
So pleased to have attended this event today with Motndarg and Tomstache. LouiseAnn, you did a magnificent organisational effort. There is nothing we could add. We really enjoyed the opportunity to mix and meet with other cachers, pick up lots of tips, and to congratulate all of the very deserving prize winners. It is a great opportunity to learn all about the great new caches and the 6 week window to discover some we had not visited was fantastic. Thanks again for all of your hard work LouiseAnn.
Thanks for this really cool event LouiseAnn. Very good crowd. Congratulations to all of the winners. Loved the red carpet. Great idea.
Wow!! What a great turnout, with 63 team names in the log book. A rough head count at one point had 75 people present. The weather was much kinder to us than last year, and thankfully there was no rain.
I want to thank the sponsors (Glad, Tigersden Geocaching Goodies, The Path Tag Portal and Tigersden Designs) and all the cachers who donated prizes. I will have the list of winners on the event page a little later today. Thanks also to Archie B1 and B2 for the BBQ extravaganza, this was excellent as usual.
I was great to catch up with everyone who as there, I know didn't get a chance to chat with everyone but a big thanks to all those who attended.

Great to catch up with fellow cachers we have met at other events and also great to meet new ones.
Perfect day for it which was also good. And also a big thank you to B1+B2 for once again providing some amazingly delicious treats that you so kindly shared. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the day.
Thank you again !
Forgot to add a thank you for my cache prize for having bandaids in my caching bag.

You put in a fantastic effort Louise, and the whole thing is a great credit to you and the facilities of the Victorian State Government.
Thanks LouiseAnn.

Another most enjoyable event, this time to celebrate some very good hides but also and as ever to catch up with cachers. Several most enjoyable chats were had, clues obtained, problems solved.
Many thanks to LouiseAnne for another splendid job organising and presenting. It is clear that a lot of work gets put into it all.

Wow! What an awesome day. It was great to finally meet other cachers and be able to put faces to names. Thanks so much LouiseAnn for organising such a fantastic event, and thank you to all that nominated and voted for our caches... what can I say I'm speechless
We attended this event at 12:00pm as number 1 of 14 on our Darebin to Greensborough Caching Jaunt. We were very impressed by the enormous amount of effort that LouiseAnn had put into organising the day including a lot of the printed items that were very impressive. Glad to not only meet up with a lot of the old faces but meet a few of the newer teams that I have either been seeing logs for or completing caches. There were still a number that I still didn't get to meet which is always the trouble but it is par for the course unfortunately. We stayed for two and a half hours and celebrated our 62nd geocaching event here today. Thanks from D, HA and A B-A.
This was my first Victorian Cache of the Year Award Event. Was great to have met new cachers and also to pick up a few clues. All in all a very successful day. Many, many thanks to Louise Ann for such a well organised event. Maybe next year I might walk up the red carpet!!!!! Thank you.
The weather was perfect - the company fantastic and the organization great. We love going to events to catch up with other cachers and as usual talk all things caching.
Today we were again impressed by LouiseAnn's work in organizing this event and awards for the 2nd year in a row. This year seemed even bigger than the last. A fantastic job.
Thanks for the prize for having the right thing in the caching bag.

#5307 We quite enjoy our jaunts to the "big smoke" and decided once again to make a weekend of it. We weren't quite sure what the weather would do as we had been through blustery conditions and rain, fortunate neither presented at the time of the event. It was impressive indeed to see the red carpet laid out ready to receive its winners. There were many generous cachers who donated prizes to the awards ceremony for the well deserving winners. With so many caches highlighted we really look forward to finding these caches ourselves at some stage. Our thanks to LouiseAnn for a well hosted event, your time and effort dedicated was evident and as much as the purpose of the event was to commend caches you yourself should be commended. Our thanks to Archie B1 & B2 for the fantastic catering - never before have we been offered skewered prawns or chicken kebabs (cooked to perfection!) - pretty special . Great to catch up with so many familiar faces as well as to meet many more. We lingered a little longer than intended but still managed some more caching and 3 night caches so we were pretty chuffed with our caching day . Thanks to to all for a wonderful event [^]
This was our first event since starting Geocaching last year and we'd like to say a big thank you to Louise for organising such a successful and enjoyable day. It was nice to see other geocachers and we are very much looking forward to attempting BLACK HAWK DOWN. After the event we went to the botanic gardens to watch the MSO's free show, found a cache while we were there and then wandered into the city to enjoy White Night 2014, so all in all a perfect Melbourne day. TFTE!
Bit of a busy morning but still managed to get down here with Trixie&Toby in time for the announcements. Well done to all involved in the organising for this, always good to see fantastic caches highlighted in this way and to the various sponsors for the prizes. Thanks to LouiseAnn in particular, the work is appreciated.
As usual I arrived a tiny bit later than the suggested arrival time. [8)] On approaching the meeting spot it was awesome to see and hear all the avid cachers who were gathered for this auspicious event. I signed the log at 12:48 pm and then joined the throng to chat about all things caching.
Thanks LouiseAnn for all your hard work in organising this event. Your role as MC was magnificent and the fact that you had done most of the nominated caches was truly admirable and meant you could relate first-hand your geoexperiences. The podium and "red carpet" were very impressive and added to the ceremonial atmosphere. Also thanks to the bananas for all the yummy food and to the people who donated the prizes.
Congratulations to all the well-deserved winners and nominees. I now have some great caches that I need to do, like Bay Trail Series.
I was having so much fun that I ended up staying at the event a lot longer than I anticipated. It's a shame that you can't give faves to events because I definitely would have awarded one to today's fantastic event. [^]

This was a last minute expedition for me today, I wasn't sure if I was going to get there but after getting a bit of stuff done that I needed to do, I was able to make my way over to this event battling my way through the thick traffic.
I arrived to find a huge crowd which was great, I went in and found the logbook which was then signed, then it was time to have a chat and meet some people who's names you know so well before it was time foe the awards presentation.
It was certainly a great day and thanks to LouiseAnn for such a great job and all the hard work you would have put into making this day run so well.

We arrived about 12.15 to find the place buzzing!! Lots of exchanging of stories went on before it was time for the presentations. Thanks for another great event Louise, for all your hard work behind the scenes in gathering the nominations and then the votes and printing off all the info about the hall of fame caches and the awards. Thanks also for then for presenting all the awards and the spot prizes too lol. Thanks to the cachers etc who donated the awards. Congratulations to all the deserving winners!!
More chatting then it was time to head off (unfortunately not caching tho!!)
Same time, same place next year - eh? dropped 3 TB's, pickd up 3 TB's

5739 Attended with Robmc and half of The Morris. Met the Coffees on arrival and noted a few familiar faces amongst the crowd congregated at the Shelter. We arrived just before the announcements started so good timing. Pleased to see that the Bay Trail Series fared so well - we did it over 2 different days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have now read day1976's log and can see why it was voted as the best. Very comprehensive and amusing. Congratulations to all the winners. Thanks for all the work that goes into this annual event. Well done.
Thanks LouiseAnn
Thanks LouiseAnn
Mary & David were there. We really love going to Events, and today was even more amazing than last year. Heartfelt thanks to Louise for all her work, both as compere and behind the scenes with all the awards certificates, the voting arrangements and sponsor negotiations. The podium and red carpet are now must-haves to set the tone for the award presentations. Like Goldilocks, we thought the weather was not too hot, not too cold, but just right. Great to see so many old friends and to meet some new ones. Thanks also to the amazing B1/B2 caterers, who even produced a chair for Mary. The spot prizes were great fun, but we do want to see the gold envelopes next year. Finally, congratulations to all the award winners. Our thanks to LouiseAnn.
Grabbed a few hours sleep after night shift and just made it to the event with The Morris (well half of them) and BettyBoo3747.
A very well run event (thanks LouiseAnn and Co.) that had an interesting collection of award wining caches. Some I have done, and some I'm looking forward to. Congratulations to all the winners.
It will also be interesting to look through the Hall of Fame listing when it becomes available.
Thanks, Robmc.

An absolutely wonderful day with catering by the Bannanas. A food fest reminisent of their recent event at the Watsonia Library.
With LouiseAnne at the podium, the red carpet was rolled out and the awards ceremoniously handed out. Lots of winners, lots of grinners...
If favorite points could be awarded to events, this would get one of mine.
Congratulations to all the award winners.
Thank you LouiseAnne for a wonderful, entertaining day out.

The original plan for the day was to do some stuff, grab a cache or two and go to the Victorian Geocaching Awards event in Northcote. Sounds OK but then I had another thought, why not have a go for as many different caches as I can in one day and finish with the event. Sounds much better!
So the plan is set, a trad, multi, and puzzle, a wherigo, a virtual, an earthcache and a letterbox and capped of with the Awards event. Eight in all and a 250km round trip and back to Northcote by 1pm, just a walk in the park.
Arrived just a tad late after some hiccups in Geelong but had a very enjoyable afternoon. Good to catch up with fellow cachers and see CO's rewarded for their efforts.
Thanks for the event, the awards and all your efforts LouiseAnn, another great day.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all CO's for there efforts!

We were happy we were able to attend this Event, hearing about the efforts made by so many cachers to provide interest and enjoyment. We brought along our friends RogDel who have accompanied us on some hunts recently and have now decided to join in fully, this being their first recorded "Find", what a , great introduction for them! Congratulations and many, many thanks to all the winners, with a special cheer for BorisBNatasha and Nut Bear, we look forward to some terrific experiences. Congratulations and thanks, also, to LouiseAnn and the sponsors.
First time for me at one of these events and I didn't know what to expect , a few people standing around looking suspicious looking at trees , but I was pleasantly surprised at the turn out at the event . A big congratulations to the MC LouiseAnn , great job ,even more so for the stuff of the cuff . TFTEvent .
Came to this excellent event and caught up with cachers new and old which was great. Thanks LouiseAnn for organising it and to the Bananas for the food provided. Great time was had and afterwards what do you do but continue caching.
Thanks LouiseAnn for all the hard work you put into this one.

Big Thanks LouiseAnn for such a great event, I didn't end up winning any prizes (maybe because I haven't placed any caches ). I came a bit late due to the trains being delayed but was able to join in for the most of the event. Saw a lot of new faces as well as some that I had met before. I thought of doing the multi afterwards but after having a look at the cache information and seeing it had 8 waypoints I decided to leave this one for some other time. Instead gis+ger, 2peasinapod and I went and got a nearby traditional. Thanks agin for a great event.
This was my second Victorian Cache of the Year Awards event that I have attended, and it just seems to have grown bigger and better. So much time and effort has gone into this event, Well done LouiseAnn! You did a fantastic job organising it, and MCing it as well.
It was a great chance to catch up with old and new friends and talk all things geocaching. And big thanks to the bananas for the BBQ and cake - fantastic. Well done to the deserving winners as well.
You asked for suggestions for improvements next year - I can't think of a single thing!

My first geocaching awards event and is was great to catch up with familiar faces and to meet a few new ones as well.
Thanks LouiseAnn for a well organised event which I thoroughly enjoyed. Not having been to any other award events I did not know what to expect or compare it with so all I can say is it was excellent.
I now have a lot of photos to go through to visit all those trackables.
After the event I headed of with Stemicmitsar to grab your nearby A-Z challenge cache and another trad before he had to head off. I then headed north a bit to pickup a few puzzles I had solved since I knew I would be in the area.
Thanks for a great event, it's much appreciated.

Our fist cache event and first find. Met a number of successful cachers. Lovely afternoon with Dicksontwo.
I suppose it goes without saying that we had a great day today, but I'll say it anyway. It was also great to meet and put faces to so many other cachers that we have heard about.
A very big thank you to LouiseAnn for organising such a wonderful event. The amount of time and effort you have put in is amazing.
Also a very big thank you to all those who voted for our caches, it was very flattering and quite overwhelming.

I enjoyed the event so much last year that I'll definitely be attending this time. I think I might be becoming a geocaching event groupie! [8)] Thanks LouiseAnn for all the effort you have put into organising this year's awards event. [^]
So sad we cannot make it Thank you to those who have nominated our cache and to all who have found our caches. Good luck to everyone.
Our last cache on geosons birthday run.
This event was so well organised (well everything except the envelopes ). We had a great time here and had a quick chat with ArchieB1andB2 and a lengthy one with Bexta.
The actual award ceremony was great fun and had some very funny moments (well it won't fall any further . Congratulations to BorisBNatasha and Nutbear for winning EVERYTHING (well not quite but anyway) we'll have to give the bay trail a go.
We were so close to getting a spot prize but were just beaten (yes we do have a magnetic pole ).
Thank you so much to Louiseann for organising this brilliant event- it was a great way to spend the birthday.
We took a travel bug.

Got ourselves organised and can now say we will be there. Looking forward to it.

Unable to attend this year as I am interstate...[B)]
Good luck to all nominees...

There are only 3 days left to get your vote in for the Awards.
Preparations are well underway for Saturdays ceremony and the weather looks like it will be much kinder to us than last year.
Don't forget to have a look through your cache finds at caches placed before 2004 so you can nominate your favourite old hides for the Hall of Fame.
Also, count up how many of the nominated caches you have found and you could win a spot prize on the day!
See you on Saturday

Is there an award for the best "will attend" log for an event?
Team Oakey gets our vote!

What a super list of caches, I look forward to hunting down the rest. Unfortunatley I am caching up in far north Queensland at the moment and wont be able to attend thanks to everyone who has created a cache in the last year and a special thanks to those who nominated and voted for my caches.
