Found on 3rd 0921 .. log in good condition ..thanks for this cache ..interesting place
I called by on the tuesday 8th 8.00am and the original cache was still there as described in the hints but i did re attach it to a wire this time with the rock against it so all good
Stopped in this morning to check for you. Found the cache less than 30 cm from were i found it last. It's dry and intact so replaced as i found it originally.
No luck here. The area was all nicely mown and weed-eaten up to the fenceline for ANZAC day judging by the flowers and poppies in this area. The only loose rocks I could find had nothing under them and were sitting out on the cut lawn. If they are hidden somewhere else it will be OK but I didn't spend too long looking after checking those obvious rocks.
not going any further than this one today, a quick find, nice to see these stones, tftc
stoped off on the way to whanganui to get my first cache for 2021 ,hot as hell today .
Road trip
A nice day to catch a cache or two

North Island Campervan trip Day 1
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
So seeing as I have to get to Auckland to pick the camper up it seemed like a great opportunity to break my drive up there up by going via the Taranaki to seek out some targeted caches there such as the TMGT ones, as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Today was simply the drive up to New Plymouth. Leaving work after half a day there meant I had a few hours to leisurely make my way to the holiday park I was staying at tonight. The weather was glorious and making the journey very pleasant. You could even see Mt Egmont properly!
A nice and easy find at GZ, once I had picked my moment to look for it with a Muggle mowing the grass berms nearby. No issues at all with this cache or the log, which was signed and replaced before I was back on my way again.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

We are on a ten day road trip to Taranaki, The Forgotten Highway, Taumaranui, Ohakune and back home to Palmy. Along the way will be sightseeing, short mountain walks, museum visits, a rail cart journey and, of course, geocaching. Day 1 brought us to Hawera.
At Waitotara we just had to make a short deviation to this cache. It was a quick find and the good hints were appreciated. TFTC haydn.seek

What an amazing little spot. We had no idea this monument existed. As previously mentioned log was damp however we had a spare container identical to this one so we replaced it for you as a thank you for bringing us out here. TFTC!
Turning a two hour drive into a whole day affair from Wanganui to New Plymouth! Quick find here in the early morning. TFTC!!
Passing this way and thought i would check it out. all was well here although the log was damp , being water proof paper all was well.
Heading home after an enjoyable week working and caching around the Whanganui area. Quick detour here. Cache all fine. Thanks.
.Quick stop off here to get this one snagged and tagged. cheers
Day 3- Monday, 16 December. Wanganui to Hawera today.
The morning spent around Wanganui picking up a few more interesting caches before heading towards Hawera stopping off at most caches along the way after getting out of Wanganui.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Day 2 of Squirrel Nutcase and my road trip south, now from Whanganui back to Rotorua.
Mission completed with collecting TMGT caches, and as to day 1, great history.
Will have to come back at some stage as there are so many caches in area.
Thanks to cache owners for the cache placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... This weekend’s mission was about completing the North Island leg of the TMGT. It involved a fairly extensive road trip through the Wellington, Manawatu/Whanganui, and Taranaki regions. We also made a plan to pick up other caches along our driving route...
We drove past the tavern and marvelled over its oldness. It’s strange that this should be the only retailer in town. Priorities? We continued on and found the domain gates. The cache was a quick find - though squished into the mud. Thanks wil677 and TFTC.

I am now on my way to Wanganui, but I still have time to grab a few as I travel. The cache was out in the open, so I hid it better. TFTC.

This cache took way longer than it should've to find lol. 3 girls battling who finds it first. Miss A was happy to have it in her hand quicker than the rest. Tftc
Needing a cache in this region, we came here after DNFing the one closer. Tim searched and so Viv got out and found it exactly where Tim had been looking.

Quick little find. Off place for a memorial.. looks like an entrance to a cemetery, but it's just.. a field?

This was a bit tricky as the cache was tucked away well. After searching both sides for a little bit, I finally had my hand on it. TFTC.
A quick stop off and turn around here and the cache was soon in hand. All good and replaced as found

First full day in the area after arriving fairly late yesterday evening. I wanted to improve my spare Taranaki caches, have only found 3 in that area before and that was over 10 years ago -back in the day. So we decided to head out towards Waverley and grab a few and so it was. Got most we looked for and saw some interesting black-sand beaches too. Thanks to all the CO s for their hides.
I have had some holiday leave booked for a while now and we are heading North on the ferry, along with the Cache-Qai, and off to Rangitikei to visit our daughter, her partner and our son. First time this many members of the family have been together for a few years so should be good. The plan was half day in work followed by heading off after lunch, then arriving early evening in W(h)anganui to catch up with kids. We're on the North island for a week so there will sure to be some cache found whilst in the area. My Marlborough and Tsman finds have been inching slowly but surely towards my Manawatu/Rangitikei finds but this trip will be sure to redress tha balance again for a few more years I'm sure.

Found during my trip in New Zealand.
Today, it's my 7th day of my trip.
My travel today will be Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Wanganui - Palmerston North.
Today I wake up early to come to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. I took the shuttle of 6:30am to come there. The weather is nice today, clear sky and sun. First time since several days, hopefully for me. This is the first day, i see the sun since I arrive in New Zealand.
After visiting the tongariro park, on my way to Pamerston North, I made a little detour to come to do this cache. My goal was to do a cache in this region.
Nice small village. The cache was quickly found.
Thanks for this cache and thanks for discovering this place !

Thankfully this was a nice quick and easy cache to find, as the weather was not looking real good. Log was soon signed, cache was replaced and we were on the move again. Thank you to wil677 for placing this cache at a place where we need to remember those who fought for our freedom. Greetings from a couple of Aussie cachers who love travelling and caching.
#9631. A good day to explore more of Waitotara and its surrounding areas. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Found with Trayc.g, logging now as I have my own account. First day of our school holiday road trip.
Travelling from New Plymouth to Taumaranui, via Wanganui - and picking up caches along the way Tomorrow we're going Jetboating! Whoop whoop! Evryone else was travelling directly there, but as I had several hours work to do in Hawera I decided to come this way instead. What I didn't consider was just how far it was! Still it was a fun journey, and cool to see smiley faces all the way down the coast.
Really really dark along this road this evening! So walking around here with a dog barking at me? Felt kind of scary!... ... ... Still, enduring all those first world problems the cache was soon in hand and I was on my way again

During our vacation in New Zealand we also did some geocaching. We already found geocaches placed on the year 2000. Now we are heading to Whanganui and there we also did some caches. We found some and also didn't found some. But we had a lot of fun, and that is what geocaching ment to be.

Only just finished logging the 100+ caches from the weekend and am shattered. But now to start on the ones we desperately grabbed last Tuesday to qualify for the Skindo 250 finds in February! Thank god for working part-time. Coerced hubby to come and put the pedal to the floor. I should be at home getting ready for going to Wellington tomorrow for work. Never enough time! Quick park and grab. Easy find. No problems with muggles. TFTC
Nice and easy park and grab. Log has seen better days may need replacing just FYI
I quickly worked out where this wee treasure was hiding but I had to be careful to not attract the attention of a tractor driving worker nearby.
Took the long way home after the Mega. finding lots of caches in new areas. TFTC
Nice quick find as we head for the naki ,what a flash pair of gates ,soon had log in hand and signed then replaced as found, thanks for the placment and another smiley.
Am in "just one more" mode. Came down here to find no cell range so couldn't get the info or a hint for this cache. However get sense kicked in and it was a quick find at these memorial gates leading to what is now a paddock. TFTC
On a road trip up to Stratford so took the opportunity to grab some caches along the way. Not many people about due to the cold weather but got 'moogled' at GZ by a sizeable herd of curious cattle beasties. Quickly located the cache and signed the log before mooving on . TFTC haydn.seek.
Second time here, hubby spotted and even remembered seeing last time but dismissed it. Tftc
Thanks for cache I did take a fair bit searching around found it nice one mate mi
Today I made a short trip to southern Taranaki just to finish one personel goal of my holiday: To find at least one cache in every of the nine districts of North Island. Taranaki was the last one and so the challenge is now complete. Before driving back to Whanagui I stopped in the little and quite village Waitotara to find the two caches around. This was the second and last one and no problem at all.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

This cache was one of the many caches we found on our 6 day campervan journey from Tauranga to Lower Hutt via Waihi, Cambridge, New Plymouth and along the west coast to Wanganui and back to the Hutt. A mighty and enjoyable journey which took us to many great and iconic parts of the north island and of course some great geocaches. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to so many new places. Sorry about the generic log but 200 plus to log. TFTC
A fine example of one of the many memorials remembering those who died, so nice to see this one. Also first time here, a quiet but quaint location. TFTC wil677, #8483
We usually whizz through Waitotara on the main highway, so it was interesting to turn off and see the extent of this town. Found after a closer look, thanks haydn.seek.
My 100th find! What a great hiding place. Nice and easy. Somewhere I haven't visited for a long time.
