Out biking ?? today hoping to recuperate my new knee. Rode past here only to discover that not only the cache but the whole tree had disappeared! There is however a patch of bare soil where the tree used to be! No choice but to archive the cache unfortunately. ?? Rodney.
That's funny...I was looking there for half an hour last Thursday.....no wonder I couldn't find it!
Back In the big city for the weekend on a search and rescue training course, staying close by and this one was on my way to the course this morning so I made time to swing by for a quick find tftc
Easily found today, I was expecting a few more options as I honed in, but thankfully the needle pointed to just one. TFTC Sallies, all good.
Today’s main aim was to go for a walk to Godley head from Taylor’s Mistake.
This was with my sister and my brother in law, their dog and my geomutt (for the day anyway) Jed, who I have been entrusted to look after while staying here.
A good walk, and it was quite warm and surprisingly busy on the trail. But before and after I got to get a few other goals out of the way, including quite a few of the TMGT caches out Lyttelton way.
So a good day, quality over quantity, and the dog gets to sleep well tonight. Everyone wins. TFTC to all COs.

Had some spare time this morning so drove around performing maintenance on some of our caches - mostly dotty ones. This one needed logsheet replacement. The double bagging is to reduce moisture penetration. Happy geocaching. Rodney.
Thanks for bringing me here! I've spend many a kilometre bike commuting to uni back in the day and since have only driven by. Really pleased to discover this reserve, the natives and the walkway and grateful for the history you added for me to read around the cache area. TFTC SL
Had a work meeting out this way and took the opportunity to find some lunchtime caches. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
Rodney had the afternoon to himself so drove around and checked out twelve of our caches. This one was okay.
Checked this out with grandson Zach (9). It is still in place, a little higher up than originally. Rodney.
A few after work at another campus to wait out the worst of traffic. Great to find this one after a previous dnf when it was missing. TFTC!!
So, we looked at the obvious place following the hint with no luck, so looked around trees in close proximity. We found the pill box to the ground several trees over. We have placed it back according to description and hint
Went for a bike ride today to check on some caches. This one was indeed missing again! Put a new one in place, a little higher up. Rodney.
Very long walk to this one....
Tricky to cross big intersection.
First dnf of my holiday .....sad .
Now I need to find my way back to St Martin's before my phone / and map die.

During a little walk in the reserve and at the river we found this cache. Quick and easy find.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

Beautiful day for a walk in another lovely park. Co-ords took us straight to the right spot. Tall indeed! thanks Sallies
Quick find on my way to work. I saw a dinosaur in the tree. Thanks for the cache!
Quick find. Bottle is a bit broken and was being muggled by a couple of spiders. Glad the pencil was there, I've lost my pen... Tftc
Nice walk after a week of constant rain. The pill bottle was cracked but log was well-protected. Thanks!
Stinky old Smelly Toes has got here before us but never fear we still have enjoyed our brief walk to find it
16:20
Found on a dog walk. Cache grabbed quickly while dog was going nuts running around the reserve.
Unfortunately, Smelly Toes has been here, and the logbook is replaced with his scribble-sheet. I didn't have any paper to put in the cache so just signed on the one that was there.
TFTC!

Found it on the ground not in its usual place. Note was ruined and scribbled on.
It's stopped trying to rain, unlike lunch time , so decided to go collect this cache while in the area.
Nice quick find to add to my consecutive days caching challenge. Many thanks, Sallies.
I see we have had yet another visit from our socially challenged 'friend' smelly toes! Rodney
Some little poo bag has been and stolen the log, a nasty note left by "smellie toes" is all that is left in the container.
Other than that, yes a lovely walk.

A quick find while in the area. What a lovely big reserve.
Had to wait for a couple of muggles on bike to zoom off, otherwise a straightforward find.

Yipes! This one is guarded by a brave tree, clawing at your hands. But it was no use! I still got it in the end!

We had a trade me pick up in the eastern suburbs, so StreetWalker and I took the opportunity to find a cache or two in the area beforehand.
A pleasant walk to GZ, though the wind was still a little cold. We spotted a couple of likely hiding places on approach, but it was soon obvious the cache could only be in one spot and there it was. Hoepfully I wedged it back in securely enough. First of several Sallies caches today. TFTC.

#13458. A pleasant walk to a part of the reserve we hadn't visited before. TFTC.
Final one of eight located between Reefton and Christchurch today. I’d already located seven caches en route to Christchurch before running out of time to do any more. However I needed one more to achieve a target I’d set myself, so went out to find this one early in the evening.
I couldn't locate it in the tree and was beginning to think DNF thoughts, when I happened to see it on the ground, having obviously dropped off its perch or whatever. I'm not sure where exactly it had been positioned in the tree to keep it from falling out. I put it back in a little fork but don’t know how long it will stay there. #1292. TFTC.

The breeze was quite cold as we walked here but it was lovely in the sun. Cache easily found, and then we were on to the next one. TFTC!
We were on a mission to get some September caches and collect a few multis for another challenge and this one was on our route. a nice wee stroll through the reserve led us to GZ, we casually waited for some muggles to pass before making a move on the cache. Tftc.
Day 2 of caching action in Christchurch.
Enjoyed our visit here. A walk in and a quick find.
Straightforward find. Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Nice "stroll and grab" here. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Quick find while out with son and grandson before heading back home to Nelson. Thanks for the cache.
Found this one today while out walking with my young brother Zach, and the cache owner (my Poppa!). Nice little cache. I found it all by myself. Stella.
