Have had a fantastic week exploring the YP with the help of geocaching. This hobby is more than finding a piece of paper, it’s discovering places you would normally pass by without a second thought.
Looked in the most obvious place but there was no mail today. Another reason to visit again.

This should be a letterbox type cache!!! Saw the cache as I drove past then had to reverse back. Could almost have reached out the window but not quite.
Is the property owner across the road aware of the cache? Must be. Then again it doesn't get too many finds these days.

Delivery to country roadside mail boxes like this one of the daily paper and the mail was common on Yorke Peninsula, but this came to a close around 30 years ago. How times have changed. TFTC Angas
Day 202 (Wednesday 18th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Warooka today. A total of 136 for the day and 4740 for the trip. TFTC
With a name like that i was expecting it to be a letterbox-hyrid type cache. quick find.
All logs today were stamped as " Mystery Randoms ". The team was sir_spectre, mogni, allister w, Aussie M & M, JJ52 and Gizmo Gang. We did the whole geo art in the one day finishing the last 11 under torch light.
This was mogni's last calendar day to fill with 10 in every day. Since it was the 29 th of feb she wanted at least 100 cache finds for the day. We worked out that the geo art was a good choice. She wanted to do 100 caches and maybe some more. I thought all 588 caches was a better idea ( all the geo art ). I recruited some people. I talked to the fishy tales group and got permission to pick up all the caches and replace them. They gave me 300 new caches and enough new logs for the whole trail. Also strict instructions to pick up all the mint tins on the trail so freddo could recycle them. We found 61 of which 49 could be recycled. We ended up using all the given containers plus more and CITOed 4 milk crates worth of old/broken/brittle containers. Over 600 cache finds for the day. With 3 weeks to the 29th mogni decided to expand what she wanted. She wanted as many cache types on that day as well. We got a multi, puzzle, trad, earthcache, event, wherigo, virtual. We started in the dark and also did the last 11 caches of the geo art in the dark, it was a big day.

A big leap day with the Mystery Randoms. Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52, AussieM&M, GizmozGang and I had a big day from a event in Adelaide to finding all the geoart at the bottom of Yorke Peninsula. We were tired by the end of the day. This one was found along the way. TFTC
Mrs Gizmo was invited to join mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and JJ52 for a big day starting with an early morning event, then some different cache types in the city before hitting the road to the Yorke Peninsula to complete the geo art.
We started at the boat and continued on to the other geo art on a logical route. We stopped at any other caches that were along our route. This being one of them. All logs were stamped with a team stamp of "Mystery Randoms"
We had a great weekend full of fun and friendships. My biggest caching trip yet.

A big day was planned for "Leap Day" with mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and Gizmo's Gang heading down to the bottom of Yorke Peninsula to complete the geo art and find as many different cache types as we could as this opportunity only comes around once every four years.
We had a fun day/weekend and achieved all our goals, starting with a very early event, then some different cache types before we left the city for the drive down to Warooka where we started in earnest.
So we started at the boat and made our way around all the geo art in a logical manner doing a lot of cache maintenance as needed. Now all caches and logs are in good condition and we recovered a lot of mint tins to be repurposed.
We had finished the "Boat" and were now heading to the start of the big fish and as we were driving right past this one we stopped to make the find.
Thanks for the cache Angas5.

A huge day out with Aussie M & M, gizmos gang, JJ52, sir_spectre and AllisterW. We had a mission to complete all of the geo art on the base of Yorke Penninsula and complete it we did. In the process all caches that needed some love were fixed and all mint tins spotted removed.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
After veging out (non caching) at Daly Heads for three nights, it was time to move on and find some caches, if we are reach #5000 at Millicent.
Camped in Warooka, and doing a few caches nearby. Lovely drive through the farms and past the ocean.
No mail here today, but there is a cache. Thanks Angas5

It felt a little strange going to someone's letterbox but hey we claimed a smiley by doing so! Thanks for sharing this area with us!
It appears we have arrived in paradise for the next few days camping. Doing a quick reconersence of the area and grabbing a couple of the caches which have guided us around. Had to get this one as had found the sister cache. Little jog down the road as we weren't sure about turning the rig around. It would have been fine but I needed the exercise anyway. Tftc
Found with dty73 and youban on our Yorke Peninsula invasion! All logs signed DTY (dty73/Tankengine/youban). Thanks for the cache!
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Admittedly we came for the power trails to make up some of our statistics, but we also wanted to check out some of the traditionals as well. This was obviously one of those we wanted to pick up.
A straightforward find and very interesting that it’s here. Tftc Angas5!!!

On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. This is the day we are planning a start on the Geoart and some of the traditional caches. The ship is the first one we will attack. This is a generic log so we added any information relevant to this cache at the end. Thanks to Fishy Tales and all the other cache owners. Kutgw

Today is our second day staying at Point Turton and exploring this lovely part of the world. We have never visited the Yorke Peninsular before, and we really wonder why not. It’s so beautiful, with a mix of beach, crop farming, paddock grazing animals and natural countryside.
Yesterday we started on the geo art trails, and today we are continuing that, but mixing it up with random caches spread across the countryside. The geo art gives us the numbers, but the random caches take us to some lovely out of the way spots. A great combination of the reasons we love caching.
Thanks to all the CO’s in the area for all the caches they have developed, put out and maintain for us to find. A mammoth job, well done. We appreciate your efforts.
We heard no ringing today!
Very cheeky, but we like it!

Travelling down from Queensland with my fellow cachers Snickersallan, Waz and Vik, Ardom, Gcoven and JooJoo57. We have planned a week long adventure to collect all the geoart, the fishing line and anything else we can get. Thanks for the cache!
Day 1: Today we completed the Boat and Fishy Tales and some of the fishing line and traditional. We took some time and found a few previous finders DNF’s, also located two GZ that had two caches so we took the spare and replaced a couple where we also had DNF’s with previous finders DNF’s too. We are well and truly stuffed and will sleep so well tonight. Planned out assault for tomorrow where hopefully we will finish the art

This afternoon we started some of the Boat Geoart series with Roostaman. Some were quick finds others required some searching. We replaced and repaired caches along the way. We enjoyed the back roads and a good time was had.

Visiting SA for a week before going to Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. Out with joojoo57 and Snickersallan doing caches on Yorke Peninsula then back towards Adelaide. Thanks to all COs for your cache hides.
Before attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs we're spending 5 days in SA mainly around the Yorke Peninsular. Appreciated the variety of containers and places they were hidden - it certainly brought us to places we certainly wouldn't have stopped at. many thanks to all the COs for your time and effort in the placement of your caches.
Found by revolvant, geotrubl & geomum on a beautiful Friday while exploring the peninsula.
Yorke Peninsula 2016. This weekend I joined Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n for a six day trip to the South Australian Yorke Peninsula to get all of the geo art puzzles at the southern tip area. We had a great weekend and apart from about five DNFs were overall very successful. The trip started on Wednesday after work when Fitzy and I jumped in the car and drove to Narrandera for the night. The next day was a long day of driving to Adelaide via Balranald, Murrayville, Pinneroo and Tailem Bend. On Friday Fitzy and I went to Adelaide airport to collect Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n before heading to Port Wakefield and down the Peninsula to get started on the art. Thee days of art later we were all done by lunchtime on Sunday so went looking for another few short series near Port Wakefield. The trip ended with a two day drive home with all four of us via Mildura and Balranald. A fantastic weekend and I cannot wait till we can do another trip !
Thanks.

#5632 - 18:09; Day 2 of Team ALFS (albida 33, LuckyL10n, fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune) geoart appreciation tour of the Yorke Peninsula. After collecting two of the artistic works on day one, we had now wrapped up another five so far today. That left only the boat to go. Decided to make a start on the boat before heading back to the hotel for a cold beer and a good feed. Stopped off to collect this cache on the way back to Yorketown, which proved to be a nice quick drive by and gave us a tally of #290 finds with 5 DNFs for the day. Hope the postie hasn't rocked on past here without stopping . TFTC Angas5

Suscoe and Phetlern were out today enjoying the wonderful caches of the lower Yorke Peninsular.
After some early morning rain, we were lucky to see lots of sunshine, a few cloudy breaks and lots of wind.
What a delightful drive out in the farmlands.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
Yes we travelled many back roads and any other roa that would take us to the cache. It was hubby's turn to get out and look and I am telling him from the car where the arrow was pointing, our muggle companion said it cannot poassibly be in there and sure enought it was there.
First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

Hi there Angas5. We found your cache **"The postman always rings twice"** at 2:15:00 PM today.
This was our 102nd cache find in a caching run of 102 Finds & 0 DNFs today. (So this now makes our find count 13372.)
Day 3 of our attempt to clean up the Geo-Art on the Yorke Peninsula.
Our plan today was to make a start on the "Boat" series, but first we had to find this one. It's not part of the series so it deserves a finely crafted log, not one of the crappy cut-n-paste ones that usually are associated with power trails.
**Thanks for placing a large cache here**. While nanos and eclipse tins sometimes have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in more remote areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache exactly where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The cache container and log book are in good condition.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A smiley badge & a supermarket card thingy.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Camped at Point Turton, and this morning we headed down to the National Park, with Konie.
Enjoyed the drive around the coast line, taking in the views, as we picked up a few caches.
On our way back to the caravan for lunch, and did a small detour to pick up this one.

Today was day seven of the ahomburg and sharkiefan 2015 road trip to South Australia. We managed to find all but one of the geoart over the last three days, so we had some unfinished business with Sammy Starfish 20. we also wanted to check out Innes National park and surrounding area, followed by some areas further north east in the Yorktown region and surrounds. We managed to pick up many Traditionals, a couple of Multis, the all important Mystery cache for the Souvenir on offer and even found an Archived cache in our Travels. Despite a bit of rain over the day, had a fantastic time, almost covering the whole lower part of the peninsula.

Found with Ahomburg on our last day in the Yorke Peninsula. We are just taking it easy today and are driving around collecting finds where we want to. Tftc
Found during a tour of the bottom end of Yorke Peninsula while staying at Wool Bay for the first week of the school holidays. Thanks for the cache Angas5!
We had tried for this one earlier but got sidetracked and then found it a little later.
Found at 10:44 AM in the company of Alansee, DiMorgan and maccamob - we signed our names in the log book as "DAMP".
Having finished the boat series, we were now on free form caching - ie finding any that took our fancy This one intrigued us as we did not recall where the term "The Postman always Rings Twice" came from and were hoping to find out from the cache page, but alas we were non the wiser. We then looked it up on the net and found once again that there isn't any real idea why it is used.
Thanks Angas5.

Was nice to stop and find something different and the certainly was.

We could not resist going arty once we saw the palette the YP was offering. We managed to team up with our caching buddies from our Route 66 power trail caching experience - SEMIK and Skippy and it was not long before we had the rhythm and cache after cache was found. We spent 12 hours caching on the first day and 2 and a half hours the second day. We only deviated slightly from the series to do the "odd one". Nicely done - a fun experience. Thanks to Angas5 for placing this cache.
As we pulled up we looked at the large object wondering whether we should look in there. We did and found the cache safely tucked away. A bold hide. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for a great cache Angas5

So the adventure with FurfacesLL ladies, specimenX and myself had begun on the Yorke. We were here to attack the geo-art and what ever else we could get our hands on. 5 days of fun and games, many stories to be shared and a good weekend all in all
This was full day number 2, after a big day yesterday we were back out again to continue hitting the geo-art. Apologies for the generic logs.
Picked this one up on route towards the next lot of finds. We paid a visit to the postman however we decided not to ring
Thanks to all the cache owners who took their time to place the caches we have collected over this weekend. [^]

Our geomission with Rapidlywild and SpecimenX had commenced. This geomission had been in the planning since the new geo-art caches had been placed. The Canberra Day long weekend was chosen to give us enough days to collect as many as possbile. Our target is to get all of the caches in the art works and a few more if possible.
A different hide to collect to break up the trail, very cool indeed.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches we had a blast of a weekend!

Found It!
Bit of an out of the way place for a letterbox. Does the postman still come out here? Reminds me of official GPS mail only...
