WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 53 - Bunbury Day 6. For my last day in Bunbury, I chose to start the day with a cafe breakfast in town. With five to choose from in one block I was spoilt and had a great meal. The first part of my caching day was in the suburbs just south of Bunbury, with the usual mix of success and failure. Over my whole day it was almost one DNF for every three finds. I was happy that some caches have had maintenance recently, so that is good news. My afternoon was supposed to be a country road series, but that was troubled as well. There is a huge new road going in that made accessing some of the areas I wanted a very convoluted exercise, but in the end, I made it to the site of all the caches I had in mind. However, even out here there were more DNFs than I would have expected. I finished the day visiting three challenge caches before going back to finish a cemetery issue and get fuel for tomorrows drive to Freemantle. I have really enjoyed my time in Bunbury, big enough for plenty of services, not too big to be difficult. Not to mention lots and lots of great caches.I popped out of Dowdells line, and went a little up the road for one more cache. There was a worked here collecting cut dead fall. He took about two of 100 branches and headed off, leaving me to find the cache. Thanks for the cache dimor47839.19 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2014 Photo Frame A#300**Albida**
With the WA Day public holiday fast approaching, the call went out to the team to see who would be up for a day out. SirFancy, I C Nothing, and monkeywand were available to join me, and we decided to head down south towards Donnybrook. There was plenty of cache variety for the adults and a decent playground and bakery for lunch for the junior members of the team.We met up early in the day in Baldivis. With the ping of a new cache, we piled back into the cars and headed for Lakelands. After a quick find, we hit the road and headed to our caching area of operations. We started out by collecting a bunch of caches around Donnybrook before stopping for lunch and letting the kids have a run around. After lunch, we cleaned up the last few in town before winding our way through Boyanup, Dardanup, and Brunswick Junction. We arrived home just as the sun was going down, having been on the road for nearly 10 hours, covering close to 400 km, and collecting 41 finds, 5 adventure labs, and 8 DNFs.Thanks go to dimor for placing and maintaining the Traditional cache Closer To Ferguson Valley for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 16:04 on 3/6/2024.This is find number 9009 for me.
Out and about with the MICS crew (monkeywand, I C Nothing, Cirrus_WA and SirFancy plus geokids) for a roadtrip down south. Most logs signed MICS. Quick find whilst making our trek home.
Another road trip with the Mics team finding caches that have been on our list for awhile or just been seen as we pass by. Thanks for placing to add to the enjoyment of today. Signed Mics.

Just an overnight stop, The 1st time we had visited this area.
We had planned on doing more challenge caches but the roadworks in the area stopped that.
We enjoyed travelling along the farming roads
Thankyou to the CO's for holding this event

Thank you for the cache dimor, beautiful area!
Teamed up with ullyssia for our third day of the WAGB long weekend. Our focus today was several trails East of Bunbury and any other cache on our way to Collie for the CITO. We picked up some rubbish along the way and we had a bag full by the time we got to Collie. All the caches were quick finds. Nice to run into a few teams in our travels!

We travelled down to Ferguson Valley to explore the local area while staying for the weekend. This was our second day of exploring the Ferguson Valley. We are obviously in the correct location.
Thanks dimor for the cache.
Thanks dimor for the cache.
It was a pleasant drive from our last geocache to get to this one.
When we arrived the information was something quite interesting, being new to the area. Finding the cache was relatively straight forward. However, it did look a bit suspicious standing behind the sign while the log was signed.
This cache was the last geocache for the day, we had some domestic duties to attend to.

Second day of our Southwest adventure, off to see the gnomes at gnomville. A nice quick park and grab here, TFTC dimor and bringing us to this location.
We stopped at the nearby establishment for some lunch and a chocolate stout and stopped here to make a quick grab. The Ferguson valley is certainly a nice place to visit.

Took a detour on a trip from Perth to Pemberton to see the gnomes. Nice start to a beautiful scenic drive! TFTC!
So I was in the area today and decided to check my app for any nearby caches.
Heading home from potters gorge, we dropped past gnomesville before heading towards baldivis. After a “did not search” at the church, we pulled up for a quick find here.
Thanks heaps to dimor for placing and maintaining Welcome To Ferguson Valley. Glad to grab an unplanned cache today. I added my name to the log and replaced where I found it.

We tried the wrong side then saw the cache. Ducked in from there and logged the find.
Suscoe headed out for another wonderful day of caching around this area.
We headed north and then out through the Ferguson Valley to Collie and return.
What a wonderful countryside, so green and the trees look great.
Thanks to dimor for this hide, had to out wait a ute driver who had stopped for a drink.
Then when the left we swooped and had the cache in hand.
