5 months since cache was confirmed missing by previous finder and other DNF's and maintenance logs since then. Might be time to be disabled Thanks!
Visited cache site with Genghicat. No luck for us today. Checked both sides of tracks cause GPS Put us in the middle of the bridge. Tftc
Out today with MuggleHusband on fitness walk that was hillless i.e. flat and no hills, so that we could last longer than we did in Kowen Forest earlier this week. While this area is not as pristine and refreshing as the forest the history lesson today brought to us to a disused railway line and a now abandoned 'harbour' without much water. It left us a lot to reflect upon and discuss about the good old days ) and the impact humans are having on our environment. Sadly our big walk of the day to 'Jerra Jailbreak' nearby has had to be postponed as the entire area has been closed off from 6 May - 26 July 2019 due to firearm use. See photo of signage on gate in relevant cache log.
Sadly this cache could not be found despite a thorough search but we did enjoy crossing the bridge, taking photos and the location generally.

Cache was logged for NM almost 2 months ago. Previous finder confirmed that the cache is not where it is meant to be located. Would be good to get an update, thanks!
Myself and DSD must have looked for this cache for close to 1 hour total, on two passes by today. We also PAF'd two seperate people, one of which who actually send a photo of the cache in situ!
We managed to match the photo up, which we think was identical to where we were standing. We even scratched through all the pine needles and leaves for a long time.
I think it is safe to say this one is definitely gone! Would be good if the owner could do a checkup.
Many thanks

No luck today, see NM log below. With a picture of the cache in hand, this cache is missing unless it is buried somewhere nearby
This is an interesting spot!, I wonder what it was used for?
Headed down the track and noticed a few of the Environa monuments in the distance. After crossing the bridge, had a quick look around then spotted the cache.
Thanks,

Thanks,
After finding another cache nearby I decided to walk on down the tracks to collect this one. It was dark and the light from my phone was only just enough. Thankfully I had read the warning regarding the bridge before hand so I avoided any mishaps. Took a bit of searching when I got to gz as my phone had died and I couldn't zero in on the final location. But I had the hint and was searching all around. I was pleasantly surprised when I did eventually find the cache: "Oh, there it is!" TFTC
Nice stroll with no one around with the breeze keeping things cool .
Many thanks for the cache hide .

Aquilus1 and I were nearby, so thought we would pick this one up. I loved it out here. I love old ruins and this place was fun to explore. Tftc!!!
With dty73 we quite enjoyed the walk along the boundary and the old train track, was just a shame it was SO hot! The bridge is as much as a feature through here and safe to cross but it sure does have some big holes along the way, one looks like it has been dug out and I seriously doubt it but if that was a wombat that's one I sure don't want to meet! Was so fascinated by all the old buildings and bits and pieces here walked right by the cache to head off and explore. The wind today was really blowing and in among the trees no shelter at all, if fact many of the trees where dropping sticks and small branches but spent some time exploring before returning to find the cache. A great location and a favourite for me, thanks for the cache gecko1968.
Was in the area for an FTF hunt and happy to find this cache as well, nice little area here with the old tracks and the youth playground next to it. Thanks for the Cache. gecko.
I found this one after I had given up trying to get the FTF on the nearby puzzle cache.... this was easily found which was nice considering the pain I went through trying to get the puzzle... but it was a happy day as I ended up getting that FTF after all.
Really cool railway bridge here, its amazing the quality of the build considering the age.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

We just had to pick this one up on the way through this evening. Cache found by torch light at Mr SC’s chest level, cache was quickly signed and we hustled back towards Hume before the skies opened up !
Wonder how long until this rail bridge just collapses, few holes are beginning to open up! Sad to see so much of this old rail disappear.
Thanks for sharing the history of the area and of course the cache. Was nice to tick this one off

Should I - shouldn't I. That was the dilemma after work when I would have to dodge rain wearing the business clothes. Stuff it, let's go. I parked as close as I could in the industrial area and ran along the old line, avoiding wet grass and plants as best as I could. Quick find at GZ - I wonder what this looked like 20 years ago? Got back to the car without too much wetness on the trousers!!! TFTC gecko1968
Such unloved country, strewn with abandoned furniture, bottles, cans and spooky old buildings. It was not always so - in the days of the dirt track racing 40 odd years ago good times were had by all! An empty container now has three treasures in it to make up for the depressing scene. TFTC

A day of navigation: geocaching, orienteering at Red Hill, more geocaching, and then a 3hr night rogaine at Black Mountain. Close to 25 km walking and running all up. Another stroll and a quick find. TFTC. (I think I wrote the 30th in the log).

After wandering down the track from the bridge, I started to remember sights from long ago. Folks taking us to see the races at Tralee. Sprint cars, bikes and demo derbys. David House a name that came to mind. The sound of the engines, the smell of burnt fuel and the taste the dirt in your mouth as the cars took the sweeping turn. Now so much going on now, but just up the road.... TNLNSL TFTC Favourite added
I remember coming to near this area as kid to watch the car races. Very different now.
Found on my 50km road bike ride for the day, walked the last section here!! (not suitable for a road bike !!!). There was once a cache at this bridge, but that's long gone. Also, I don't remember whether it was that previous cache or some other puzzle cache, but the whole history of this site has been mentioned earlier in a cache too; never ceases to amaze me! Cache found, all good, thanks.
I followed the track as far as a 2WD can go, then a short walk and a creek crossing, before following the resident Wombat tracks to GZ. Once at GZ I made a quick find, TNLN thanks.
Great story on Environa.
Had to step around people's junk, and listen to 2 guys in 4x4 utes tearing up the track.

On a beautiful day I headed off for a few new Tralee caches. Some of the roads are a bit rough by the old speedway, but I found a few nice walking trails as well. Great area to see from the back side. I was interested to see the other cache just near here has been removed.
Thanks.

Last one for the day. Thanks for the cache. Didn't enjoy the walk in though, some people are just filthy grubs.
Found with Geo Hubby and pooches. Awesum stunning day out on a mission to get my 800.......
I came to this cache from the 'ELG' cache in Beard - the two sites share the fact they are both liberally festooned with the litter of folk who for whatever reason are unable to dispose of it in an appropriate manner. Disappointing. If not for this, the area would be quite nice. TFTC
Interesting area, sadly neglected by people. Lots of history and clearly popular with 4WDers wanting try their skills. Cache in good condition, thankyou
Parked in the prescribed park spot and was passed by a car that went under the bridge. Followed car and found that there was a pseudo 4 wheel drive track to the north, so I went down there to the river crossing and when walked the rest. Nice place very overgrown. The history within. TFTC gecko1968.
A great blackberry-free walk with the Ridgeo-pup today ~6pm before dog school.
I walked along the dirt track rather than the train track, then up and over the old railway line into a pretty grove of trees. I was a bit concerned that someone might be living there and that I was intruding, but no, I think the place has been long abandoned.
I met some blokes playing with there 4-wheel drives. They seemed to be having fun and I felt a bit better about them when they declared that they regularly collect rubbish from the area.
I second the previous loggers suggestion that this would be a great spot for a CITO.
I walked further up the track and contemplated getting "Jerra Troll" but decided it was too far through rather snakey looking territory from this angle. Thank you for a wonderful cache and the history of Environa, gecko1968 & Co.

Popped past on the way to the market. I drove to just past the gates of the old Tralee Raceway (where I used to go and sit in the middle on the fire truck) and wandered over. There used to be a SS-BJC cache here called "Territory Gate" hidden under the bridge.
Good coordinates here had the cache in hand quickly.
Thanks gecko1968

Grabbed this one after bouncing at the nearby trampoline arena. Slightly creepy feeling from the adjacent structure, but good to straddle the border and find the cache. Thanks gecko
Found at 1125. Today was another 'hole in the calendar to fill' day, so I decided it was a good opportunity to take a shot at this one - it's been on my 'nearby' list for a while and today was finally promoted to 'to be found'.
A check of the map had me taking the dirt track off the vehicle inspection bay, where I quickly discovered that what looked like an easy drive on the satellite proved to be an obstacle course of deep wheel ruts and potholes - I can't believe that I'm still surprised by how much damage some 4-wheel drivers are willing to do to the environment in the name of recreation.
It probably would've been smarter to turn back and try another route, but with what little off-road training I've had I managed to negotiate my poor little Forester through the quagmires and chasms and come out safely on the other side. The plan was to find the cache then drive through to Hume & loop back to go troll hunting, but once I hit the river I realised that I'd be backtracking instead - approaching from the Hume side probably would've been the smartest choice.
As I bailed from the car a trailbike started up nearby and it wasn't long before he appeared on the far side of the creek (without helmet - I guess there weren't any brains to protect), but he seemed little interested in my actions as I slipped under the bridge.
My GPSr struggled to provide more than 10m accuracy, so I vaguely explored the nearby structures while waiting for it to settle (even the local terrorist cell appears to have abandoned their hideout to nature!), then decided it needed a reboot. While it went through the process I looked in a couple of 'cachey' kind of places and surprisingly came up with the find. The GPSr still had me 6m off the posted coordinates, so I guess fortune sometimes favours the random searcher.
Signed the log and dropped off a maze pathtag, then headed back to the car to pick my way back along the perilous path. I'm glad to report that I made it out safely - there's no way I could have extricated the car if it got bogged, so its associated trackable would've recorded its first 'dropped off' status!) Thanks for the cache gecko1968.

Found while out on a caching morning with Mr Roo. Last for the day. Drove to within 40 meters. TFTC
Found with Captain Tomato today. TFTC Pity that they closed the nearby speedway. The place is just a rubbish dump now
Work was having an evacuation exercise so we decided to head out before the roads were closed and take a long lunch in lieu of sitting on the grass. It was a lovely day for a short stroll, drove almost to GZ, this area really is quite the rubbish tip. We found the cache fairly quickly. TFTC
Stopped close by after a day at Googong Dam and found the cache. Disappoining to see all the rubbish on the NSW side of the railway tracks. TFTC.
#2177 - 15:05; Headed off for an afternoon caching run to Jerrabomberra, but thought I might clear a few of the caches along the border before I crossed over. Great site for a CITO Event if ever I saw one! Had a chat with a couple of enterprising young lads in a 4WD using the creek for practice as I wandered past on foot. They had disappeared by the time I had made the find and returned to the track to find 2 more 4WDs, which a further chat revealed were hunting rocks? TFTC gecko1968
Final stop during an easy dog walking territory along the border track with the geo-mutt this morning. All found quickly although said mutt is now very distraught at being in the backyard instead of inside because he is filthy and I really need a second cup of tea before I deal with that.
Wandered along the disused track to GZ. Cache was on the ground so replaced in an appropriate spot. TFTC gecko 1968
Very sad to see the message from previous finder. This cache was set by a group if children range in age 4-11, and yes there are some hazards along the way but the history of the area and the fact it is part of the ACT boundary should be of interest. Oh well can't please everyone.
Grabbed this one whilst out at Hume buying some mulch for the garden. Quick and easy find. TFTC.
Today is a much cooler day, and more pleasant for caching and walking the GeoSchnauzers. This is the first one we found today, near the creek. I wonder about the history of the shacks near the cache.
7439 + 877 = 8316. Lunchtime run with Sol de Lune.
Hmm another find along some railway tracks ! Thats three for the day ! This was quite an interesting cache for the history - didn't know any of it before. cache was found once the track in was negotiated.
Thanks gecko1968 !!
TNLN - TFTC !!

Another railway line crumbling and rotting away, but those days are almost gone for good. All OK with the cache grabbed by 131 while I watched from the line. tftc
Way up high. A pity that the railway line has deteriorated and is now no longer functional.
A nice quick find on an un-planned caching run. Ju and I went to the Mitchell Transfer Station to dump a trailer load but when we arrived the queue was out the gate and up the street and the car that we followed into Mitchell (who would have arrived 15mins before us as we stopped) was still outside the gate [B)], Ju and I decided to drive to Mugga.
After this I needed to stop in Hume for some diesel so Ju and I made a little detour to this one on the way out. As we approached GZ, and after warning her of them, Ju stepped in the biggest of the holes in the track and took a little bark off [B)]. No real harm done so we continued to GZ and I made the quick find, at full stretch I might add! TFTC and another small part of the boundary signed off

A quick find in an interesting spot I didn't know existed. TN left a pathtag. TFTC!
I had been keen to this one, hoping to be able to see some of the Environa remnants from the track. And you can if you head back along the track towards Tuggeranong. Have been out here for a cache very close by, way back soon after we started. Thanks for the return visit, gecko1968.
Woohoo, 50th cache! I had gone past this cache many times when I worked in my first office job without realising I was driving past a hidden treasure.
Another arvo exploring some of the less travelled areas around town with Binni - fantastic hanging fruit, tftc gecko!
Hoping more people will come see this amazing place.

2013: 245 Days In A Row - We drove up the dirt road until we hit the old entrance, we saved ourselves a few hundred metres walking. The place looks like it has been used as a dumping tip for quite a while... Crossed the creek and then walked over the railway line to GZ for a quick find. We went across the bridge on the way back, and I warned the geokid to watch where he walked due to the two holes. Maybe I should have listened to my own advice... lol I was talking to Fraggles and looking at the creek when *whoops* one leg just disappeared... "Mental note to self - look where I walk". Thanks for the cache!!!
Day 245; cache 245. a nice afternoon stroll to get this one. Though it is a little messy out here still rather interesting spot. We ended up parking what looked to be an old speedway of some sorts. Thanks for the history lesson. TFTC!
Found while doing a top secret mission at Googong (you will soon find out what it was). Came here for non-caching reasons a while ago to visit the old race track where we found out about a lot of stories. Good to see a cache in this fantastic and historic area. Went through the train tunnel and drove within 200m of the cache because of the pot-holes. A very peaceful walk on the paths and past the track gates. Once within 50m, we had to cross a few fences and we had to walk on the tracks to get to GZ. That is a very interesting GZ, great place for a cache. A nice easy find with a very good hide. TNLNSL. TFTC gecko1968, starting to enjoy your caches, a favourite point from us!
I drove up along the potholed road, parked and crossed the railway bridge.
Okay, it's "Just above eye height in trees" if I interpret that as standing on a stick, on tiptoes and stretching as far as I can reach. That's after I knocked it down off the branch where it had been put higher, so I could get my fingertips to it. For awhile I thought I might not be able to reach this one without something to stand on. Anyway I managed and I soon had the log signed. Then back I zigzagged along the road missing the potholes. TFTC.

This is only the second time I have been here for a cache, and the last time was over 6 years ago!
A nice easy "almost" driveby - well except for the last 50m! I love locations like this. Something weird and unexpected, and has one wondering what the structure was for! Add to that a great container and nice hide, and it's a favourite point for sure! Thanks gecko1968!

Another blustery cold winter's day. Parked at the old Racetrack entrance, jeepers, that was ages ago wasn't it. Went a few times but it was pretty boring. Ahhh, the cache yes. Would you believe I forgot about the bridge at first when planning how to cross the creek. Head slap. Agree with Sol, I think the clue is more McPhanesque - I was really doing tippy toes to the max. Pity we don't get the steam trains doing this bit anymore. Thanks for bringing us here though shame about the brain dead dumpers! Took the TB.
Heading past the general area, took the detour and was soon heading under the tracks. From there it was down the old dirt road and, for my car, a stop about 80 metres from GZ.
Then it was over the fence, and onward to GZ. Needed the clue, which was right for a McPhan, and soon had the log in hand. Duly signed, it was replaced.....cache closed and then back to the car.
Thanks for the cache gecko1968....haven't been this far down the road since the nearby place was still open......and that is a good few years ago!!!

2327. Yes it was dark and VERY cold. After a game of indoor cricket, a feed and a few beers with the boys, it was time to head home. I checked the phone to find some new publications and one was sort of in the right direction. So a change of plans and I was off to Hume. I managed to get the combo van to within about 80 m of this one and then it was off on foot. Gauging by the amount of kangaroos around the creek my chances of a *FTF* where looking promising. With some good coords, the iphone lead me straight to hide. A blank log greeted me @ 2152hrs and the cold fingers eventually managed to leave my mark.
Overall I really enjoyed this cache, the journey, the hide and the information about the local area. So definitely a favourite from me.
