After initially being on the wrong side of both fences, we eventually relocated to the correct area, but were unable to find any trace of the cache.
Looked all around old chimney, high and low but unsuccessful did find a little box of drug paraphernalia though! Which we disposed of.
Quick find apart from the interesting moment I realized I was on the wrong side of the fence luckily not many around to notice my acrobatics.
Quick find. So sad to see what the earthquakes did to this part of town. TFTC.

Yay! My first ever!!! So much fun especially when u found it!!! I did have a little squeel. Had to be a little covert as there was a park ranger dude here locking up the playground. But yay!!
Thanks for an easy find in an old part of town I haven't ventured into since we moved in 2006. Good to see the park is still ok, shame about the pool. Had a nosey at our old place. Found, signed, returned to hiding spot. Thanks for the cache.
Last morning in christchurch before catching up with a rep and heading home, so needed to collect before returning the car and meeting at 8am.
Nice quick find in the early morning and not a whole lot of muggles about

Pencil still missing Of course I'm always prepared for such eventualities and had a *gasp* pen with me.
There was a cache here many years years ago, though it was somewhat further above ground. Man the area has changed post-quake. I felt like I should have brought the Prado rather than the Primera! The cache was an easy find while the muggle and her daughter were busy playing.

Many thanks for this nice and lovely cache. I took the bike to collect some other caches in the area and of course couldn't miss out this one!
Our 2nd visit here,as we now know that the Cords were out.Went straight to it this time.Nice to have it off our to find list.TFTC
A pleasant evening, a nice bike ride, a quick find. Perfect. I recall finding a cache here many years ago - think it was in a hollowed out brick. Thanks
My first cache. I enjoyed the experience and keen to do more. We are visitors to Christchurch and had never been to this area. Tftc.
We were not alone as we biked around this area. It was rough riding the roads around here on our bikes, but I think it's just as unpleasant in a car. With every cache I get of yours today Sharkiefan, I see your smiling face from the event of the other night (11/12/13 Cache-mas). TFTC.
If for some reason you happen on the wrong side of the fence...I'm sure there is someone living there. Oops! After re-orienting myself it was a quick find. TFTC
Westland Anniversary on Monday meant a 3 day weekend to ChCh. Another nice quick find while in the area. We didnt venture any further than the cache but it feels a little sad that this area seems deserted. Thanks for the cache

Got it. A new park for me. It is still haunting being in this neighbourhood. Tftc.
Hmmm what to do a muggle sleeping on grass near GZ. Tip toed past signed log and tip toed back. Muggle none the wiser. Lovely little park in a very sad suburb indeed.
Enjoying grabbing a few caches with friends from Darwin Thanks sharkiefan for another great cache
Thanks for the cache sharkiefan. I'm enjoying the beginner-friendly ones you've placed in my neighbourhood. We are regulars at this park, really enjoy the gardens at the front of Avebury House and also the kids playground. The place was deserted this afternoon which made for an quick and easy find.
I used to pass this park all the time when I lived over here. Nice wee park and the house and gardens behind it are lovely. TFTC
This was becoming a little weird!! There was a peacefulness about the place and even some beauty with everything returning to the wild. A clever little hide. Haven't we been here before?? Thanks anyway.
Out kayak training for the Coast to Coast on the avon and doing a cache at the same time.
Very quiet area now that the residents have left. TFTC

And now for the third cache for Sharkiefan caches today. Security was in the street - yes same one that passed me by the river, doing there rounds of the "Red Zone" checking on strange people doing strange things. Think the uniform might tell them I wasn't up to no good or was it the gps? Anyway, I carried on as they didn't approach me but then did they take my photo or whatever they do in these zones now - will have to wait and see. Easy find and the cache is all good. Pity the area isn't in good shape any more. Now off to the Women's Expo for my stint on the stand.
A great little reserve and still looks in good shape considering the condition of the rest of the area..a quick find once I managed to hide myself from muggles..tftc
Came out in the cold blustery afternoon to enjoy the Open Streets fun and entertainment in town. Afterwards we came for a wee drive to net a couple caches that I didn't fancy doing at night. A bit tricky finding our way into the area with all the closed streets...but we got there. Been to this park before for another cache. The area is pretty broken and destroyed by the earthquakes. A shame not much remediation or cleanup has happened...I guess it's all happening now (all the road works). Be interesting what happens to these riverside red zone areas. A quick find and sign whilst the wee dudes enjoyed the playground. Cheers.
TFTC. Last time I was here was seeking another cache - how things have changed.
Thanks sharkiefan for this wee loop.

The rain has stopped, so we are off caching. Another park that I never new existed! Thanks for the hide.
A touch of deja vu here. I found an earlier cache at almost the exact same spot - well, within 1m of this one's GZ. Sad to see that the brick wall has now been knocked (fallen?) down.

I've driven past here a few times, but there were always too many muggles. Between 2 and 3 on a week day is not a good time. So today I stopped by on the way to work and had the reserve to myself. Cache quickly found. TFTC.

Was fathers day and talked Mrs SB into releasing me from nursing duty for a quick cache run. Walked around these three nearby caches. Pretty sure there used to be a cache here pre EQ... Thanks for the hide.
Filling in time and I decided to head over here - this was a lovely part of the city, the streets windy enough not to be used as a main route, and lovely views of the river. Forlorn now, although a surprising volume of traffic. TFTC.
Took the dog for a morning walk and tried to get her to sniff out the cache. Didn't work, she was much more interested in smells by the paddling pool. Had to locate the cache myself.
Surprisingly, this turned out to be a bit of a spiritual occasion as sometime cache locations can be. On arrival, sadness. What was once a vibrant community reduced to rubble and Mother Nature re-establishing herself as only she can after causing havoc in the first place. I was mentally transported back to the UK and growing up in the 50's where you could not help but notice the bomb damage from Goering's Luftwaffe in Birmingham, Coventry and the East End of London. Then as now, you just get on with it and that was the next emotion that replaced the sadness. Geomutt was as happy as - all the new smells and a new adventure, she was in her element. Then a sort of peace reigned as a cyclist rode past with a cheery "Good Morning" and I felt good. I felt even better a few minutes later with cache in hand and appropriately signing for a smiley. Kia kaha Christchurch. 8 days to go.
5370. Decided to do this one while we were in the area with two grandchildren Stella (7) and Zach (4). It was a case of déjà vu all over again as this is the third cache we have found at this exact GZ!!! Did not even use a GPS. Scouted out the approximate location of the one down the road but only by driving by. We will leave that one for another August day. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.

Sorry I somehow messed this up. The original coordinates are still written on my hand. Somewhat similar to the ones L4TB took for me. Should be good to go.
