Out for a Sunday drive with JDavs to clean up some caches around Cooyar. Making our way back towards Crows Nest and pulled off here to make a quick find thanks to the hint. Tftc youngoldfellaFind #5322
Pulled in for a quick find. Log needs to be replaced as it is full.... signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Today was to be an easy day heading towards and around Cooyar. Previously downloaded all the caches into the GPRs and started off great, but soon turn to custard. Headed down the side road only to find that they were not in the GPRs.
I can't put into words for this log the look I got from Mrs Snakepitter. Suffice to say 'I told you to get the new GPRs'. was used with some adjectives.
Not to worry, we managed to get enough internet to be able to use our phones and navigate our way around.

Long grass after recent rains plus an active wasp nest but apart from that all good here. SL TFTC
On our way home from the Bunya Mountains via Cooyar and finding some caches along the way. We had a good look around this feature that is a familiar cache hide area but after checking all the usual spots, we had to think of other ideas and soon found the tricky cache. Hidden in a different way to the usual, for sure.

Staying in Dalby for a few days and we stopped for this cache on the way. At GZ we were sure we knew where it was but retrieving it was another matter. We found a TOTT in the toolbox which did the trick. Log signed and replaced more accessible for the next cachers. Thanks for this one youngoldfella.

With a 4 day weekend on the horizon, our dreams of one day collecting SSE, the Gravel Safari series and other caches in this beautiful area finally came to reality. My plans for day 1 were altered at the last minute, but I was very glad to be able to join this wonderful group of geo friends for a fantastic caching adventure from day 2.
This morning we hit the road and headed out to collect some great caches, saw some wonderful buildings, tunnels, trees, animals and had many many laughs.
The cache was found quickly, the log signed Team Grav which consisted of Simber15, chamad, NayFee, Triple Turmoil, Domksy and E_Smiley.
Thanks youngoldfella for the cache and for showing around this lovely country side.

A plan was formed recently to camp at Oakey over the October long weekend (due to Ekka being postponed) and tackle the art and a number of fun puzzles in the vicinity. The call went out to a few others we enjoy travelling with and the solving began! Lots of back and forth between members and we finally had a full set a few days out from the trip.
The roads were wet and muddy but that isn't going to stop a group of dedicated geocachers on a mission! The rain held off which we were grateful for however chunks of mud were often shaken off shoes before returning to cars and moving on to the next one.
As is always the case when caching with others there were many laughs and a great time had by all. Always a great sense of achievement when you've been working through a project over a number of weeks.
Thankyou for placing and arranging this series for our enjoyment. The fields and flowers were in bloom. Birds a plenty enjoying the roadside water sources. The scenery was refreshing. Always enjoy a taste of the countryside. Logs signed as Team Grav (as in Gravel assault!)

Day two of our Oakey trip and a later start than usual.
We set off just after 9am and hit the trail, ughh.. Road? I don't know what to call it, but we travelled on it. Our main target for the day was the Gravel series than we slowly made our way north than south while collecting a bunch of caches along the way.
I have never ventured out this way before so it was a real eye opener, the towns, the farms, the flowers, the animals, you name it we saw it, well, maybe not everything because I was disappointed I didn't see an elephant, but you get the picture.
We certainly picked the right time of year as the Jacarandas were in full bloom and you wouldn't go through a town without seeing a bunch of them, absolutely stunning, it truely is an amazing tree and you can literally spot them from a mile away.
The team had an absolute blast and we thoroughly enjoyed travelling the open road breathing in the fresh country air, what more could you ask for? Well, a coffee shop perhaps since I went the WHOLE. ENTIRE. DAY without coffee and that is deadly, If i miss my daily caffeine goodness I become a terrible person and do bad things, other than that it was a very memorable day.
Thank you so much for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.

Found with Touchstone7 on a trip out west of Brisvegas. We were up visiting my father and decided that a little side trip around an area I haven't really been to could be fun.
And of course, there were caches.
Thanks for the cache and sorry for the late log. Sometimes life gets a little hectic

The drive today continued north and we picked up a couple of caches along the way to guide us along the chosen route. There was no problem in finding this one, as it could be said that it was in the obvious place, given the hint. All was good and another two names were added to the list of finders before we left. Thank you to youngoldfella for placing this cache.
This was another successful find in the day of caching and travel with goingplaces2. All was good with the cache and duties were soon done. Time to move on again. TFTC.
Quick find thanks to the hint. A small kid on a motorbike from a neighbouring property seems to be taking a keen interest in us, riding up and down the road to see where we are. Thanks for the cache
On bridge duty making sure the thoroughfares of our wonderful city stay open in case of emergencies. In other words keeping out of the wind having a quiet smoke in the lee of Misbegot Bridge.
Found by Mary and David at 1100. These iconic Queensland place names - wish we had time to explore more. Perhaps when we are too old to cache we'll return as tourists. Our thanks to youngoldfella.

You are now seeking micro black magnetic container up inside. Look from the back about the middle of the sign down low. Below shoulder height and above knee height for most cachers.
Coordinates changed from:
S 27° 1.705 E 151° 48.566
Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 1.704 E 151° 48.576
Distance from original: 54.7 feet or 16.7 meters.
Due to road works that included widening the road at the intersection and making a turning lane and a passing lane the sign has been further up hill to the East by a few meters. This the second time I have had to replace the cache and the second time the sign has been moved. Now that the works are finished everything should be fine.

Headed out to to block with engineer Arfie riding shotgun and we planted out the coffee tree and did running repairs on the front fence. Thx to Goldielover for providing foster care for my precious tree Sadly I only took a shovel (well that and chainsaw that was no use in digging holes) and the tree planting was a significant process
Accompanied the new land owner to secure her lot in life. On the way there picked up a few caches that got in the way with this find the last for the day before heading back down a very wet hill.
Went to the obvious spot and noticed the GPS wanted me 14m that a way. It can't be!! Read the logs and noted the CO had moved the cache so all I had to do was pick the right line. Took a little time and found the right line amongst the spider webs. While occupied missed the show just below!!
Should be a good weekend at the showgrounds with the rodeo in town. Thanks for placing this cache youngoldfella.

Driving to Toowoomba this morning for caching and of course to attend an Australian day weekend event. Noticed the road works have now reached the turn off and the stripes sign has been shifted. New black Bison tube in place in one of the rails on the back of the sign. All good now.
A quick find on our way back south after visiting the rail tunnel.

Having a day to ourselves today after heading to Crows Nest for Xixau and Shenzi's Rural Safari, Wombles & Co and I headed further out to the old train tunnel as a starting point for our day today. This was our second cache today, and we wondered at the bird that was spray painted on the sign here and in a couple of other locations.
A quick find, with traffic whizzing past, we found the little cache guardian here quite cute.
Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

Drove past GZ but the roadworks associated with construction of passing lanes, along with narrow witch hat marked lanes made stopping here unwise in my view. Will have to come again.
Out for a days caching, we decided it was time to add smileys to this series along the New England Highway between Crows Nest and Cooyar. Unfortunately there was a lot of roadworks happening at this intersection, with traffic lights controlling the flow of traffic. We weren't able to access the "stripes" this time, but I'm sure we'll get another go at it in the future. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.
Time to head home after a great event and we even have a few new caches we can collect. This was one we targetted and found. Thanks to youngoldfella for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We couldn’t believe our luck here, we are in the middle of nowhere with one tiny little dirt side street that if you blinked you would miss it and we thought, perfect we’ll park there. As we hone in on the area we need to search a landcruiser comes out of nowhere and we are blocking the road to their house (that we can’t see) seriously what are the odds. Now how do we explain what on earth we are doing parked in their driveway and scaling the place???
We need not to have worried they did not care at all what we were doing, they just rolled down their window and yelled out ‘leave your car there guys we can go around it’, wish city people were like that!
Now we are really missing the van because we could find a park and stay here for the night with all the delights we are finding out here…
