Despite a good search, we felt like this was like trying to find a needle in a sand dune. Lovely area though. Next time. Thanks K&M

We've had this one on our to do list for ages, but have always been reticent to make the climb up the dune. Anyway, we bit the bullet today and made the climb, which we managed without incident, but it is quite steep.
We came prepared, with a shovel and two walking poles to prod the sand with. Well we prodded and poked the area around GZ and like the old saying, "Like sands through the hour glass" the loose dry sand soon swallowed up where we'd searched. so much sand on the move here. Just luck, I soon had the cache in hand, yelling out to Petal that I had it.

Thanks JedWilko for this cache placement.

I came to car parking area, and started walking to where the GPSr was pointing, after 120 metres the track got STEEP, hence the name of the cache, got to top after a couple of rest stops, but GPSr would not settle, after about 10 minutes it got steady, but there was lots of drift sand over the area, no signs of any sort of container, in or around surrounding scrub, so after being here for 45 minutes, called a DNF and left on my downhill way which is much easier, Thanks JedWilko, for bringing me back to an area that I used to fish, back in 1966

Today we explored Orbost and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. Once up the hill we searched for a while and finally Mr "T" came up with th goods. Great views from the top, but got sand blown getting there!!

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A long weekend in Victoria can only mean one thing.... CAMPING!!!
The plan was hatched, we would take our camper trailer and rough it for a few nights.. Arriving at Corringle Slips we were greeted with absolute beach front camping spots. It was beautiful!

Heading past this cache on our trip to Marlo, how could we say no? Well, we couldn't. If you have ever been to the Bass coast, you will no doubt know of the sand dunes caches right along the coast. Doing them has certainly given us an advantage to climbing this BLOODY hill!!

Thanks to JedWilko for placing this cache Smile:)

It's a Looong weekend! Yay! We are currently camped down at Corringal slip with Mr and Ms_enchantress. It's our first time out free camping with our new Jayco.
Sorry for the generic log but I'll never catch up unless I do a little copy and paste.
This was one of the caches we decided to do over the weekend.
MS E and Mrs T along with her geo son made the climb, all was really good until the blood thirsty sap sucking A hole mosquitos came out in force, I don't think they get fed very often!!
The last 30 meters was a challenge but we were upto it. Ms E and Mrs T have done a lot of gonefishen07's dune caches down on the Bass coast so they are somewhat conditioned!
We also found the coords a little out but if you think about a sensible place to hide a cache and what it says about the top of the dune it's easy to find. Mrs T made the find today.

South Coast January 2015. I spent a few sunny days exploring from Eden to Orbost and beyond. A very interesting part of the country. Having slogged up here I was a bit disappointed not being able to locate this one, I hope it turns up. Thanks.

We are staying at the Orbost caravan park and once we got our settled we headed off to find a few caches. This cache is what make geocaching so special. As travellers to the area we would never have found this unique spot. We started up the quite inviting trail to the top of the sand dune (though the last stretch had us sinking up to our ankles in the soft sand). We widened our search to somewhere that looked like it would be a great place to hide a cache and bingo there it was. Then it was time to take in the awesome view. Fav point alloc. Thanks to JedWilko.

Once the family had been set up at nearby Marlowe I headed over to do this one. Nice spot for a cache, found in the first place I looked. Co-ords were spot on for me!

A positively awful day to do a cache. Fortunately this one was not a difficult find. Mrs GN managed to have a graceful fall in the soft sand - was it the wind or the twigs that caught her foot as we climbed to GZ. No injuries and no heart attack.
GZ was out by about 9 metres. We got it at
