Unfortunately, I cannot see any information that indicates that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement. Therefore as advised previously, the cache is being de-listed (Archived) to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
The [**Geocache Maintenance guideline**](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance) explains what needs to happen with a Disable cache.
Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center article [**here**](http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70).
If you wish to contact me please send an email via my profile - [**Bunjil**,](https://coord.info/PR9GZ0K) and quote the cache name and GC number.

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###
----------
I've noticed this cache is carrying a maintenance log which really does need to be addressed by the cache owner.
The guidelines indicated that periodic visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.
- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

My first day out geocaching in Ballarat on this trip. Found this cache while taking a bite here and there of the BSRT PT attempting the ones that were with in a short walk of a road. I found what the bottom part of the container minus the lid and contents. Had a quick look around for the lid or the log book, didn't find anything. To keep it going I found an empty mint tin and place a temp log in it then place the tin in the spot where the name sake is and covered it with the cache container. TFTC.
As with previous finders we found the bottom of the container. We added a ziplock bag with a sheet of paper for people to sign. SL TFTC
Maintenance is needed.
Maintenance is needed.
This cache has been destroyed by someone, there was the bottom of the container thrown on the grown and nothing else was there
It has been ages since we (BettyBoo3747 and I) came to Ballarat and completed the BSRT. Since then it has grown somewhat, but we hadn't returned. This weekend we have teamed up with Chewin (Howard from Howjen567) to correct this oversight.
We started with a DNF at Linton, but after that our luck improved and we collected most of the caches available.
A love ride along the tree lined route. We managed to avoided the weather until the very last cache, and even then only got a bit damp.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14041. Our first full day of caching in the area. We met Howard of Howjen567 at Smythesdale and headed to Linton to ride the BSRT back to Smythesdale. We picked up a neat 50 on the trail with 2 DNF's. We logged our first find at 9.30am and the last find at 12.50pm. The weather was perfect for riding and we managed to stay ahead of the rain until about the last 500 metres into Smythesdale. The temperature also plummeted to a chilly 17 degrees in a matter of minutes.
It was an absolutely fantastic ride and the first find of the morning brought my total cache finds to 14,000 so that was a great start to the day. It is a pity it wasn't the one at the start of the trail at the station but alas that seems to be missing in action with a string of DNF's to its name.
You are correct it most certainly is stuck. A strange bit of a contraption here. A fabulous tree it is stuck in too. All good here, added our names and conrtinued towards our destination.
Thanks Highrod

Day 2 riding the BSRT, after coffee and cake for afternoon tea, on our way back to Linton. I see the reference to steel now... it appears stuck! TFTC
Finally found some time to have a go at this trail today... something I've always wanted to do even before i discovered geocaching but now have a bigger reason to do it. Jumped on the deadly-treadly and made it from Alfredton to Nimmons Bridge in Scarsdale. Over 40 caches found which is one of my highest find days so far and 3 DNF'S. Thx to all the CO's for putting caches along here for us to find.
No trouble finding this one, cache name very apt! Tftc highrod.

Out and about with Moneydork and Locus Cache. We stayed in the same accommodation with the idea that we would tackle some of the local caches in Ballarat including the rail trail and challenge caches. This is one of the caches we targeted.
Thanks for the cache Highrod!

Out and about on a rail trail expedition with Jascat and Mark9375. Nice hide. TFTC.

On the bikes riding the BSRT with jascat and geojill_11 for the two long weekends, this geocache was found, we had a great time thanks to all the cache owners for showing this trail to us! some amazing places along this trail, not to forget some good memories and caches!
Main Log for each day can be found on "GC5TPE3" "Lovely Linton"

Another cache along this trail that is highly deserving of its name. The cache was a nice easy find but I confess we spent more time trying to figure out what the giant nappy pin actually was and why it had become stuck where it was. I guess the tree has grown around it over the years, amazing how they will just envelop an item such as this without any obvious trauma to the tree. Thanks for placing the cache here - an interesting spot.
Found while out on the bike today with Tommyh200 to try and do as many caches in this series on the Ballarat - Skipton Rail Trail. A great day was had and many logs signed. Thanks to all cache owners for the placement of this series. And thanks for the cache.
Out on a lovely Friday caching with stashaa on the BSRT between Scarsdale and Linton with the bikes. This was the second one for the day. Took longer than it should of but eventually had the cache in hand. Thank you to everyone who was involved with the placing of the caches on the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail. This is a great series do do either by foot or wheels. TFTC TFTH highrod.
12:58:00 PM. Back walking the trail. A cooler day with some showers around. A good day to be out walking as it wasn't too hot. Amazing what you find in trees and wonder where it came from. Log signed. Thanks highrod for placing this cache.
The aim for today was to go to the furtherest point on the rail trail and work our way back to see how far we'd get. Only doing the ones we can get to easily from access points as we're walking. We had one DNF for the day and hopefully all the walking can counteract some of the overindulgences of our holiday. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC
Lovely Sunday afternoon ride from Smythesdale to Linton planned to finish off the BSRT series. Got stuck a few times and PAF help required to keep moving and reach pickup point by 6pm. Many thanks to all COs - Gemmasistema, Wozzle68, ST37E, Fergzter and highrod for the many and varied hides along the way. This one logged at 1.02pm
The 3FW's from SA have invaded Ballarat and headed for the BSRT. Find, sign, cycle, repeat... Saturday was a great day to be on the trail. Fog at the beginning and the sun just coming out at the end. We found all of the caches except two. One was missing and we left a replacement log. The other was just too good for us. You can't find them all.
Day 2 of our caching trip to Ballarat with Freddo and Team Waldron, we had an ejoyable ride along this trail finding the caches as we went, logs were signed 3FW to save space in the log books.TFTC
Heading over to Ballarat for a caching weekend and picking up a few caches on the way.
We managed to find about 230 caches in 3 days/ot bad work for 3 old guys
This series was why we came over to Ballarat.
We woke to a misty day and luckily it stayed overcast until we finished.
It was interesting to see the cache hides change as the hiders changed. We weren't fans of the bison tubes in the trees but that's the way it goes sometimes.
We missed a few but it didn't matter too much as there are lots more to find.
Thanks for an excellent series.

Out for a short walk along this section of the trail and came across this cache. I wonder what the metal was here for? TFTC
Did a sneeky grab for this one, sent Geohubby off in a different direction so me and geokid could grab it!
Left Melbourne yesterday, and set up camp at the Creswick Caravan Park.
After Alansee and Team Crackers arrived, we enjoyed the open fire place in the camp kitchen.
Today we headed out on the bikes, to attempt another section of the rail trail.
Once again, we were not disappointed with the variety of good quality hides.
A fun day was had, in the company of good friends.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, highrod, for us and others to find.

Camping at Creswick for the weekend with The Drovers & Alansee with one of the main aims being to grab some of this rail trail whilst alansee & The Drovers finished it off.
We started at Barbed Burl and worked our way right through to Linton.
We really enjoyed the ride although the head wind was a bit annoying at times and we were happy that we only had one DNF for the whole lot although some did have us looking for quite awhile.
We all enjoyed the variety of hides and some of the fantastic scenery that we saw along the way.
We are really looking forward to returning to complete the rest.
Thanks for the series, we apologize for the generic log, there were too many in a short amount of time to remember them all individually.

frmen1 and I escaped home for a bit of geocaching. Found quickly after climbing over the barbed wire fence (it was too hot to take the long way). What an interesting object. TFTC
Quick find with Tassie expat while exploring this great area. Thanks for placing these caches.
We are staying in Smythesdale for a couple of nights. Being conveyed to Linton to do the BSRT back to Smythesdale plus grab a couple of others. Most grateful that I included the "LRT" (log recovery tool) in my pocket as it came in handy to retrieve several logs from their caches. The ride was pleasant, cool enough for no wriggly-sticks.
Trying to make a note for each cache with an average spacing of about 200M on one's own when cycling is virtually impossible and to recall each of dozens of caches at the end of a day just wouldn't happen. Sorry for the generic logs.
It is great (we don't think so) that we cannot get NBN and have to use mobile data internet. Our service either goes "down" to at best very slow. Sometime soon my finds of 12/10/2015 will all be logged.
Thanks to cache owners for the experience.
Enjoyed the flora and fauna along the trail.
Have just had a reality check - solo riding on a cache bombed trail is far more time consuming than estimated. From here on if a hide is not quickly found, it will be logged as a DNF to ensure the clock does not well and truly get me into further "time debt"!

A beautiful day for tidying up some green on the trail today with The Glanville Girls. Thanks for the caches highrod.

Another fine plan from LousieAnn to tackle the Smythesdale to Linton section of Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail and hunt the caches along the way. We arrived with 6 bikes and 4 cars so once we had headed to leave my car at the end point for later we were off. A bumper day of 61 finds for me including 54 finds and 3 DNFs on or near the rail trail. We had the luck of a beautiful spring day and tee-shirt heat as we pedalled our way through this very pleasant countryside.
Bernie disappeared into the bushes with Pam at this one with the rest of us lagging behind. Geoff didn't seem to be too worried though and as we caught up the find had been made and the signing duties were undertaken. Thanks to highrod for the cache and this excellent series and thanks to my companions for great company on a fun day of caching.

BernieH went in for the grab on this one. We picked this cache up at 12:17pm.
SirJ-Oz, Annoying Tarbit and I hatched a plan to head to the east and pick up some of the caches along the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail. I had been here just over 2 years previously with group to collect the first half, so it was well time to come and collect the rest. gmj3191 (a member of the previous group) and BernieH also joined us, along with non-caching Pam.
Thanks for the cache and the series highrod.

Find #2134. Found @ 12:16 with LouiseAnn, Annoying Tarbit, gmj3191 (and PamJ), and BernieH.
Today was all about the BSRT series from Smythesdale to Linton. This was find #12 of #55, with #2 DNFs thrown in for good measure.
After scooting on ahead, BernieH made the find here. Apparenlty he claims that no-one else made the find. I don't think that is how it works.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

Today was spent cycling the Smythesdale to Linton section of the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail.
Our group was composed of LouiseAnn, BernieH, Sir J-Oz, Annoying Tarbit and wife Pam.
We had a great time. I haven't kept detailed notes on all finds but one or two stood out for a special mention.
It was a magnificent day, getting up to about 18 degrees, and for the most part was sunny with no wind. We generally felt this section was a bit more interesting than the previous section which most of us rode about two years ago.

Travelled up to Ballarat from Melbourne to do the BSRT between Smythesdale and Linton with some friends. Met gmj3191 (and GeoWife Pam), LouiseAnn, SirJ-Oz and Annoying Tarbit at Smythesdale where we organised a car drop to Linton and then commenced or ride at about 10:30 am. Enjoyed some great scenery and cache hides along the way and finished in Linton at about 4:30 pm.
My turn again, a quick find after a short sojourn from the track, cache in good order.

Well a few days in Ballarat has turned into a fortnight.
Today though it was time to say Goodbye to Ballarat (well almost) as we moved to Smythesdale.
Was nearly 2pm before we jumped on our bikes to tackle some more of the BSRT.
We saw lots out and about today, including ........... wait for it.............. Some sunshine! [:o)]
Also saw lots of horses, cows, sheep, goats, dogs, muggles and even a dead fox.
The weather was fairly mild compared to what it's been so a very enjoyable cycle ride until the sun disappeared at dark o'clock then the last little bit of the ride was very chilly.

We set out today to finish the BSRT series. We parked at Careys Rd and unhitched the push bikes. The forecast was for showers and we came prepared.Luckily the rain didn’t eventuate. I spotted GZ as I got off the bike.
A day out to earn a few more smilies with Shamus1, Cherad, Mi5sie & 08151605, caching the BSRT from Newtown to Smythesdale. It was my first time caching with geo-kiddies and what a difference! They were happy to do the scrambling, climbing and crawling. I think I might loan a couple next time I go caching! I was more intent on photographing the cool toadstools around here and forgot to look. I think I spotted a fairy under one of them! Luckily there were plenty of other eyes to do the looking for the cache. TFTC

All the caches were good, and most easy enough to find.

Found it and met some lovely geocachers from cranbourne who, luckily, had some gel to treat my ant bites from previous cache!
When we got here we actually left the trail and walked to the corner of the boundary fence to log this one. Easy to see where it got its name from. An easy find here and the log was soon signed.
Thanks highrod.
Thanks highrod.

we headed from Scarsdale to Smythesdale. We enjoyed this bake path. TFTC

Main reason for being in Ballarat was to ride this rail trail. Had heard about it from one of the CO's a couple of years when we met out Phillip Island way (on another rail trail) but these two days were first chance I had to get down here.
Found all caches bar one....which was towards end of the series. All up, a good ride and a fun way to spend a few hours grabbing a few caches.
Thanks to alll the CO's. Apologies for the generic logs.

Found at 18:09 with Olga. Found during a South Australian assault on Ballarat
Found as part of a group assault on some Ballarat caches with Moneydork, Locuscache, Uni&Medusa, Semik and skippy.
Thanks for the cache Fergzter.

What else do geocachers do when having a weekend away geocaching[?]
Take some friends and make it a darned good weekend!
Moneydork, Tounga, Sushilord, Uni & Medusa, Skippy & Audra and myself headed to Ballarat and we had a blast!
Enjoyed tea with some local geocachers on Saturday night: Sully1, Bogong Hazy and Snaphappy [^]
Kayaked on Sunday and then rode pushbikes too
The things we do for geocache finds, I haven't been on a bike for years!
All up, I found 113 caches and had 4 DNFs
We even managed to find some that we had DNFd last time!
I apologise now for the generic logs on these caches. I am unexpectedly heading back to the area now, about 5 weeks later, and am madly logging so that I know what I have and haven't found.
Please understand that due to some issues this end, I have been short on time and therefore haven't logged these as I would normally do, with a seperate comment for each cache.
I thank each and every cache owner for the wonderful caches which we found in the suburbs and in the bush!

I did this series with the Super Seven Team from South Australia.
We had a great time and the series certainly increased our find count for the day after a morning of doing kayak caches.

We set aside today as a caching day to boost our wellbeing and our cache numbers. We walked up and down a couple of sections of the BSRT Rail Trail and found some more caches in the Skipton and Ballarat areas. We ended up walking nearly 20 km and are now glad to be home again. Thank you to the COs whose hides we visited today! It is always great to have caches lined up where no motorised traffic will bother us. Not only that, we did not even see a pedestrian or a bike muggle during our quest. On a trail, of course, there is always "one more" ... something we were saying and thinking a lot today.
Interesting what trees can "swallow"!
